    This is exactly what I was looking for I started off as a producer, then became an artist recording myself and released 2 eps over 10 years ago, then transitioned into a successful DJ career on the side in my local area now I'm trying to get back to producing and releasing instrumental music as an artist, since I forgot all the things I did 10 years ago and your channel has been extremely helpful getting me back up to speed since a lot has changed in the 10 years I've released music, thanks again for all that you share!

    I'm Advanced in the age myself; I remember writing bands via MRR and even sending in scene reports from time to time. I used to go to Gilman St etc. Jesse is right. It's easier than just 10 years ago; it is just a learning curve. I am still figuring out social media but thank god this dude is around to set my aging punk-ass straight on this stuff; I'm all ears. I will say burnout is real, and when you're done, you're done.

    Thanks! Your content is incredibly helpful. This video inspired action - and a follow-up question: I searched all the sources you recommended to see if a potential project name was available (on social media, as a domain, and most importantly as an artist or band). There are no artists going by the name. But I DID find a song by the name (nothing anyone has ever heard of, and DEFINITELY not the inspiration for my choice!). I'd like to know your thoughts. Thanks again for so much genuinely great content!

    Great info. Jesse at 9:05 when you say to put up a first song on Spotify that we're never going to release so that we can create the Spotify profile and then delete that song, does it matter how long you leave the non-release song up for? delete it immediately after submitting the real first song to the Spotify playlist?

    Hey Jesse, when you make an EPK for new project, would you mention big acts that you’ve opened for as a previous artist project if it’s in the same genre?

    • @Musformation
      @Musformation  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would not make an EPK unless the places you play require it. I’d tell your story organically on your grid and in a TH-cam intro video

    Great video thanks Jesse!
    Does it have to be someone who lives in A différent state to you that buys your song on bandcamp to protect your name?
    Would it offer my name the same protection if I sold a demo version of a song to a family member/ friend that’s in state and just put it as private on bandcamp for now?
    I am just starting out this project, have all my social media sites set up, have a website already built but am still working on crafting my sound

    I want to get my music out and start creating. I run into a stump though. Music needs to be on music platforms... so I need to own my music.. however I find that hard unless I learn how to produce beats(no), or find a producer( hard but doable) that wants to send me beats. Is the best option for me to start releasing new music is to say fuck it and use and record over beats I find on TH-cam etc for free even though I know I don't own them and post them to Spotify apple etc and hope to just grow a fan base. Or can I not post them there hecause I don't own them and I have to post on free sites like TH-cam and SoundCloud until I can buy to lease( because you can't own most beats you buy) and then go from there. If have songs that I create but the only place I know to get instrumentals is TH-cam or beat sites..Thank you
