    Sold! I've been perusing other Espresso machines websites, videos etc and yours in my opinion is the best hands down. It's one thing to see it from the manufacturers viewpoint, which of course will be positive as they want to sell it. But coming from a consumer's point of view with no incentive/sponsorship etc means much more to me. I was pretty much leaning towards this one but your video has confirmed that decision for me. Thank you for taking the time to film this video. And you're right, there aren't many videos on this machine out there from a consumers viewpoint. Thanks again 😊

    I have owned this machine
    for 3 months and I love it. If I have one suggestion it would be to explain the three buttons to the right of your coffee choices, to explain the bypass for ground coffee and to teach how to froth the milk without choosing a coffee choice by hitting the ground coffee choice without the coffee actually in the machine. The machine thinks it has coffee to deliver but instead, you get your frothed milk. Also, you can use other milks such as oat, almond, rice, etc in your frother. Love love love this machine!!!

    Great review and video...my daughter is a coffee MONSTER...she's constantly going by SB and getting 5-8 shots of espresso on Ice...she LOVES COFFEE! That being said I told her it was time for her to invest in one of these machines. She's going with the varient model or the 3200 that has the Ice coffee function instead of the Americano.
    As others have pointed out...ya you didn't factor in the cost of beans and stuff but the math and savings is there. I sat down with my daughter and we calculated she'll break even in 7 months and then she'll be saving over $160 a month...it just makes since.🤷‍♂️

  • @actontreadway1168

    You barely touched on the most important part of this, which is how the milk container is cleaned! It’s their most impressive innovation. A lot of latte machines have a tube or straw that needs cleaning and will ultimately have to be replaced because it will get moldy. This one has a two part cup that splits the entire “straw” in half (it’s molded into both parts of the cup) exposing both halves completely, so you can clean it from the inside, rather than from either end with a straw brush. It’s a miracle of engineering! Having said that, I am a bit of a coffee snob who drinks very little coffee, and this machine doesn’t really inspire me with its coffee quality. It’s what I would rate as “quite good”, which might sound ironic, but I did say I’m a coffee snob. Most people will love it, so I still recommend it to anyone who asks. I suppose I see it as less than or equal to Starbucks in quality.

      @@moomin534 breville barista express has a built-in burr grinder, frother and seems to last, going on 4 years. not the best but very high value at $700ish. It's an espresso machine but the frother allows you to make a lot of other stuff and to tune to your taste. Not as automated as this machine, but it's not hard to clean- you will need to do periodic full cleaning operations maybe once every other month. youtube will explain how.

      That's not true. These machines are extremely unreliable. There seems to be a huge problems with the heating unit and grinder itself. Friends of mine bought this model together with 2000 series and they had to get their money for the warranty back.

    • @leonard.nicolae
      @leonard.nicolae 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just like Lukas says it won't last 2years. The milk cup wears down and it cost around 40-50$ to buy. Then is the grinder and the rubber rings around it. If it is in warranty you are safe. If not then it costs 200-400$ to fix. Which is yaics alert.

  • @philips1003
    @philips1003 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    Great review! Couple of notes though: in your calculations to justify the price of this you forgot to include the price of the coffee beans (which could be expensive depending on your preference). Also, with these machines you have to take out the brew unit and clean it from time to time under running water. I had genuine Saeco back in the day, and it lasted me 11 years, but with Phillips acquired Saeco, the quality of these machines dropped significantly, and their brew units tend to leak and stall from air trapped inside. Finally a tip - use filtered water with it and you don't have to descale and use the filter in the water tank.

    Great video thank you. I’m looking now for a comparison video between say this exact automatic espresso machine to the Breville Barista Express Impress. In Vancouver Canada for our black Friday sale week they are both on great sales yours is $899cdn and the Barista Express Impress is $999cdn. Great sale saving about $300. The original Breville Barista Express is now $700cdn on sale. But that one I tried multiple machines last few years and all(4 machines) I had to return because they all broke down in different ways or was just crappy in different ways not working properly. I couldn’t seem to purchase one that was just made correctly!! And they were all new!! So anyway I wanted to treat myself this year and I can’t figure out what I want the upgraded Barista Express Impress with the automatic grind and tamp option making it done perfectly (hopefully it actually works properly) each time and all I have to do is move it over to get the water through it and froth my milk manually when I want a latte. Or go the fully automatic way of this machine that I simply press two buttons and done!! I’m a 50% of the time americano and 50% of the time latte drinker. I do appreciate your info that the milk could be hotter on your machine. I find that very helpful for my pros and cons list. Such an expensive purchase. I do like that your machine can brew regular coffee as welll so that’s a serious bonus because of course my husband is a watered down coffee drinker usually getting XL coffees at McDonalds! What I really would like to know is if the milk frother on your machine creates sweet milk or if it’s just warmed milk? If that makes sense. If milk is done correctly it turned it into such a different product then simply warmed or steamed milk. Correctly done it’s incredibly smooth, almost velvety and noticeably sweeter in the coffee. Makes a much better americano with just a bit of properly done milk instead of cold milk from fridge. And lattes of course taste a world better made properly. The main reason I’m getting a machine or trying again to get a working machine is that everyday I get a Starbucks from my local 3 Starbucks locations and I have to rotate my locations because 75% of the time, more accurately 4 out of 7 coffees I get are made horribly wrong at Starbucks. It’s incredibly frustrating and they always just replace the next coffee and give credit for another one to say sorry. But it’s been happening for years and I’m so very tired of getting 4 bad coffees a week. It help with making the overall coffee bill less with all the free and replacements but I just want consistency. My drink is a extremely basic drink and these so called baristas can’t even get the correct amount of cream in a cup and they brew horrible bitter to the point of can’t even choke it down drip coffee most of the afternoons. I’ve had the managers continuously try their coffees when I bring it back, they get one made on the spot and they can’t believe so many errors and how gross it is literally 4x a week! Anyway sorry for my rant, I just wonder if the automatic coffee maker makes the same quality drink that the Breville can make? I need a comparison between those models, if you see any please let me know the videos and I’ll watch! I appreciate your video thank you 🙏

    Nice review and seems like nice machine. In addition to cost at Starbucks or wherever also cost of travel expense of gasoline. I have Krups automatic machine and was more expensive and milk aspect of more involved in cleaning so this seems much better. Does this machine require periodic internal cleaning? I have to run cleaning with a tablet after so many cycles to maintain and this is not descaling as far as I know since use a filter that the machine takes into account. Thanks for the detailed review!

      You need to take out the brew group once a week (flap behind the water tank) and rinse it with water, also once a month run a clean cycle with degreaser tablet. Thank you very much for this. I just saw it on sale at Costco. I live in Taiwan and most of the coffee machines here run at between $3,000 to $8,000. The other videos that I watch world basically infomercials.
    One thing that I did see that I'm not sure if you know about though is that they said in the manual there's a way to adjust the heat level so that it will come out hotter. I'm not sure if this is true or what.
    One other thing I didn't think about was the price break down. Going to a coffee shop here is even much worse than it is back home in Canada. The average coffee here is about $5 and special drinks can run over $10 depending on where you go.
    Thanks again for the review. It's really nice to hear somebody talking so straightforward and not trying to sound like they're an infomercial.

Once u open.. U can see how they work and clean up some mess inside 😂.. Anyway its a good purchase and totally worth it

    A few questions: 1. If I want a regular latte (more milk) instead of a latte machiato, is there an easy quick way to program it for a heavy milk drink? That is important to me. 2. If I only want to steam milk but no coffee, can I do that? 3. If you want a double or triple espresso, can it do that in one shot? 4. Is there a seal between the water tank and the base? Do you feel that you have adequate amounts of water? 5. When you say "it's not super hot," do you mean the espresso or the milk that isn't hot? Thanks.

      No you need a double which you better you finish your drink and do another espresso shot let it go in the same glass. For less money now the terra Kaffe does all that but I love the fact that the milk does not go into a seperate line into the group head. That’s nice

    And the manual says not to use espresso beans as it can damage the grinder, how can it then make espresso ? :)

    I have set the temperature to maximum however milk coffee (latte ,cappuccino) are not coming hot.They are luke warm.
    Is this how it is in this coffee machine? Or I got a defective one?

  • @lolynnnn

    Did u consider the 2200 since only the two main drinks you make is espresso and cappuccino?
    Also find it weird it pours milk first, where as juras and delonghi are opposite.

    We have had this machine for over a year, and love it. Weird request! Recently I have noticed an electrical buzz noise coming from ours, not sure if that’s new or if we should be concerned. Could you put your ear to the top part of the machine where the ventilation grate is on the side that the water tank is and tell me if you hear like a high pitch humming electrical noise? I know it’s weird, but want to get it fixed if it’s a problem. Also, perhaps a little more information on the brew group and the maintenance involved would have been nice to talk about.

      @@shinynewgadget5163 so you do hear a electrical buzzing when the machine is off, or it’s just noisy when it’s on or running? Appreciate the feedback. Trying to determine if we should send ours in for warranty work.

I keep the coffee setting at the most strong possible and stead of add more water, I do a double dose, it's even better :) Regards from Montreal.

    My coffee is only heating up to 160 degrees F, but online says the coffee should be at around 194-205. Is there a way to make the water hotter, besides using the machine's basic 3 levels of hotness? Cuz technically, I feel like this coffee maker is causing our coffees to not be the best they could be.

  • @tlfreek

    LOL - good review. in terms of pricing this is the cheapest option for this level of coffee maker (bean to cup) with its features - there are some 12 different grind settings.
