Benzie Johnson 1st of all, Teen Titans Go has somewhat evolved to being somewhat harmless and surprising with their movie. But this? Thundercats Roar? It MUST be cancelled as soon as possible, it’s incompetent, and a disservice to fans of the original. At least Teen Titans Go is somewhat separate from it’s original source material. Sorry if I am repeating myself. But seriously, F@(K. THIS. SHOW.
@@evanstocker8106 This type of style usually used to enhance the animation so they would be more fluid. SHOULD be more fluid. But seeing This.... I say that they're using this artstyle just to be cheap and be lazy bastards because the animation is choppy and bad, maybe only have 3 frames tops per movement, Shoddy inbetweens like they didn't even try. I said let them burn.
I'am a Redguard! Seems like that's how the She-ra reboot creator feels except she focuses on shipping the characters and representation instead of story and the only good episodes are the ones with the previous She-ra
Samurai Jack is a good example of a balance between action and humor. The art style is also appealing. Why couldn't they use a style similar to SJ? Oh yeah, I forgot. These weirdos are incompetent.
dont talk about it any good old action adventure show is at risk of being rebooted into this trash ben 10 powerpuff girls and thundercats have already died all orginated from the shite pie that is teen titans go
I thought they had fired Genndy Tartakovsky, the guy that animated samurai Jack, after the samurai Jack ending and the sym-bionic titan unsuccessful attempt to sell enough toys.
Teen Titans Go ruined the legacy that Adventure Time and Regular Show would have brought to the table if TTG never exiested...I legit belive that the people who like TTG are either functionally retarded, braindead vegitables who can't so much as pick up the remote, or much too young to even speak a coherient sentance.
To be fair, that sounds funnier than the show itself. It would have been pretty funny if the original Lion-o came, flipped these balloon clones the middle finger and then used said clawed finger to pop them all.
@@lucapeyrefitte6899 tbf, aestheticaly is not that different, being mostly an improved design for modern times. The problem is everything else in the show.

Rabid fans need to stop Branding every critique as “hate” and “toxic negativity.”
@@XellosNi Except it's more that people can like SwSh and understand it's faults, not that people are blindly defending it. This will probably turn into a big thread that has nothing to do with the original topic.
Seeing this, I actually believe that the creators themselves personally hated this series and intentionally aquired the rights to thundercats so they can butcher it and piss on its legacy.
I liked Ok KO but this Thundercats ROAR looks terrible. At first i though this was something related to OK KO when i saw the commercial but then they said Thundercats and i was pissed.
The There Man Show honestly-I thought that this was set IN the OK KO:Let's be heroes universe AS a children's series that KO could/would've had watched when he was little and/or sick from school/the bodega.. No joke,I did honestly!
Mumm-rah's name never shocked you. His weakness was he couldn't stand to look at his own face. Also he wasn't gigantic. I mean, he got BIG when he achieved his ever living form, but it was more like Palpatine turning into Adonis. Also, they knew not to overuse Mumm-rah as a bad guy, he mostly dispatched and helped the mutants. He didn't even fight Lion-O, or even reveal his exist ance to the thundercats until several episodes in. It was to avoid giving him Skeletor syndrome where his being an evil bad guy gets downplayed by his constant direct failures. One thing was if Mumm-Rah got DIRECTLY involved with the Thundercats, you knew he was going to wreck their shit.
Sounds like you've got more experience with the ThunderCats franchise than I do, and it seems they're already screwing things up! This is very interesting context to hear; thanks for providing it. And thank you for watching this video!
@@benzj I was a fan of the original, and gained appreciation after the 2011 reboot. When I heard Roar announced I thought it seriously was a joke. Other things that were left out: Lion-O is actually a literal kid in a mans body (his suspended animation chamber failed and while he slept, his body still aged. He's actually the same age as Wily Kit and Kat.) but they don't at least have THAT as an explanation as to his stupidity (when in the original, he was more immature) Snarf was originally Lion-O's babysitter in a way, but is now apparently a McGuffin robot that's just going to be used randomly to conveniently get the characters out of any problem the writers don't want to think of another way around, and the sword of Omens was... KIIINDA a symbol of manhood given that it grew from a small dagger to a genuine longsword, as well as it was a symbol of wisdom since it had the "third eye". It was also sort of sentient and refused to be used to attack anything that wasn't evil.
Heck, I remember the 2011 series, I believe replaced his hatred of his own reflection with a vampire like weakness to the sun. Where it would weaken and burn him.
Interesting thought, that I didn't really fully think of before -- is this really just a rights-maintenance play, rather than a reboot ploy? Thank you for watching this video!
@@TrenchMan93 Warber Brothers owns the IP outright. Thundercats was originally created and owned by Rankin Bass. Which was owned by Lorimar. Which WB borged up. The only outside claim that might be there would be from Tobin Wolf, the original writer/creator. But he's dead. And the 2011 series puts it way outside any copyright expirations/return to creator clauses for decades.
For some reason, almost every object has an outline on it. Probably to try and add some "texture" to it, but it really just makes it look more dirty other than anything..
I really hate the art style of this show. Not that it re-uses the "Cal-arts style", but rather it's just..... lack of a better word, horrendous. The character designs are WAAY too simple, the facial expressions make me cringe, the outlines and colors are dirty as hell, and it's just...... What the hell is this??? This isn't anything..
The worst character in the original, is the best one in the 2020 Reboot. That is just...wow. Honestly, Mao Mao and Infinity Train are far superior to that trash heap.
Cartoon Network: you know what it could work to grab kids attention? Me: make a different Animation Cartoon , with likable characters , a interesting story and smart jokes? Cartoon Network: MORE STUPIDITY!! Me: of course...
The original 80's Lion-O was a child when Thundera blew up and the Thundercats had to go into suspended animation to make the trip to Third Earth, except something happened and his capsule caused him to age, so when they got to Third Earth Lion-O was basically still a child in a grown up's body. This is probably why they have made Lion-O such a goof ball here. Because he was sort of childish in the original, but it was more multi faceted than it is here. Roar has just sort of taken the goofball nature and made it the primary focus because it allows for comedy. I think they are trying to over correct for the 2011 reboot which took a much more serious tone, and was more serialized in nature by giving us a sort of nostalgia fueled easy to digest format, but this just isn't what any of the fans really wanted.
This context is really enlightening. I could certainly see where this show could be considered an "overcorrection" for the 2011 reboot. From your description at least, there's certainly a way to pull this off, but like you've said, they've gone too far in attempting to create comedy. Thank you for watching this video!
a while back i actually took a look at the 2011 reboot and tbh imo i was pretty good, some bits were kinda generic for the time but overall it did have compelling stories and pretty good action. If i had to say what about it failed itd have to be the marketing, when i saw the marketing i thought it looked WAY worse than it actually was. This is probably where the whole over-correction came from, they misunderstood where they made a mistake and thought it was the gritty tone over the bad marketing so they changed the tone and now we all have to wait out this steaming pile to die before we can get anything good. Honestly i hope theres petitions to bring the 2011 show back cause that series got reamed when it came to how it was treated.
@@bisine PETITIONS WILL NOT WORK. Why do you idiots still believe that whiny signatures on a piece of paper will ever change anything? Name one time a petition did anything?
The capsule didn't fail, they all aged about 6 years. Out of the 100 that they were in space. In order to keep themselves alive, they could not fully stop the body's metabolic process. Lion-O just happened to go through puberty during that time. This had the side effect of not allowing his mental state to mature along with his now-adult body.
When people complain about "CalArts Style" this is most likely what they're talking about. Washed out colors, soft edges, horrendous character designs, each episode looks like it was storyboarded by 20 different people. Its basically a checklist now. When you have characters literally do a :3 face then its time to stop.
@@librasuperstar3779 Perhaps that was the original definition of CalArts, but just as time moves on and things evolve, the definition of CalArts has now been applied to this terrible style of current cartoons.
AkameGaKillfan777 we shouldn’t really call it anything. Steven universe, gravity falls, star vs, gumball, Clarence, thundercats roar, every show classified as “cal arts style” all have a unique style that can’t and shouldn’t be classified into one single style. I'm genuinely shocked they were still brave enough to air this after the first look at it a few years back received nothing but immense backlash. Surprise! We still hate it.
@@URFTBOUND4LIFE Well that, and the fact TTG tends to fill up most of a program block, like 90% of it, and you're forced to watch through episode after episode just to get the shows you want to watch. The main reason the show has done good so far is just because of the bloated air time it was given. Hell, it gets marathons pretty regularly for fuck sake. But even TTG is bearable compared to just these two episodes of TCR, and that's saying so damn much.
Drake Shadron You got that right. TTG is overexposed. I remember overhearing my neighbor's kids complaining about how it's overplayed. These kids are like 9 or 10 years old and they said they prefer the old Teen Titans. They also liked the 2011 ThunderCats so I can only imagine how they must feel about Roar.
I never saw the original series but I did see the reboot. And I still feel sorry for the original fans. It hurts how this fails at comedy. You want a good show that's similar but actually good? "Dave the barbarian" its also silly, with a stupid hero, but funny.
@@URFTBOUND4LIFE Kids are smarter than we give them credit for. TTG and TCR were made by adults who clearly think kids are stupid and will cling to anything that's colorful, noisy and constantly moving without taking a second to breathe, believing they lack the cognition to think "Hey, this might be bad". Even when you leave out the fact that these are attached to beloved series from the past and look at them as their own shows, they're still awful and if I had kids there's no way in Hell they'd be watching either shows.

While I can't fully speak for Teen Titans Go, network darling that it is, ThunderCats Roar is certainly one of the worse starts for a show that I've seen. I can only imagine what would happen if this show gained traction in the network's schedule... Thank you for watching this video!
Teen Titans Go was and still is obnoxious but they had just right amount of self awareness. They never did something worth hating it for real. I mean they did piss off audience but more in a sense of ironically pissing off. Eventually the creators played on this and put you in the situation that you can actually _enjoy hating_ the show. ThunderCats Roar for now seems just repulsive. No good jokes no good anything.
i agree teen titans go is better cause they better talent its still hot trash that did the same thing this show did to the orginal had a whole episode dump on the orginal and had a whole episode about the poddy dance dont let the like 3 good episodes convince its not hot insulting trash

Fun fact: Ristar on Sega Genesis had a better plot introduction in the under 90 second TEXTLESS intro it had. You don't have to make everything a base of comedy to have comedy. You can be serious and have a truly relatable plot and include comedy with it. I like how happy everyone is after their home world and 99.9% of their species was destroyed...
Yeah, the dissonance is jarring and is also never really properly rectified, given they're too busy making repetitive or unfunny jokes. Thank you for watching this video!
some people seriously defend this show. the only reason i can imagine why, is to spite some particular people who hate it and not because they actually enjoy it.

Yeah it's not as bad as you say. It's supposed to be a kid's show and I mean the animation is actually pretty cool. It's laid back and that's alright. If you're so upset can't you just watch the original or something with a more serious tone? It ain't the end of the world dude
Tuna Scroll To be honest, that’s one of the things I despise the most about western animation nowadays. If they REALLY cared about the future of 2D animation and cartoons, they wouldn’t copy the successful shows from before; instead, they would at least TRY to come up with something different and allow risks! Ù-Ú Shame.
•{ Sapphony }• Yeah, I agree. Although thinking about it more I believe Dexter’s Lab, Powerpuff Girls, etc. from the 90’s-2000’s all shared very similar styles as well, so unfortunately it really comes down to preferences changing overtime. But speaking of western animation being made, most of not all of our cartoons now are really being animated in Korea by talented artists who have to stick to the storyboards no matter how good or bad they may be. Taking risks in this day and age is almost rare, and even if someone does it sadly very rarely yields good results, which is why people avoid it as to not lose money.
I guess it could pass off as a parody or a spin-off, but NEVER, EVER in a million years will I count this monstrosity of a "show" as a Thundercats reboot.
I don't think it is good enough as a parody, the humor just isn't very good and they took certain liberties that make it seem like a (terrible) re-imagination of the whole concept. I'm sure any random stranger on the net would be able to create a better parody than this.
Ever since Teen Titans Go started, western animation as a whole has been on a downward spiral, mostly because they've become overly cheap and overly repetitive, with no real variety and over-reliant on sugar-high characters with lots of obnoxious jokes and toilet humor because they think kids are idiots. Thundercats Roar reeks of desperation because the network executives refuse to allow creativity and only care about money and nothing else. Cartoon Network needs to turn around _immediately_ or else they will go bankrupt and will cease to exist.
The trend of shows like TTG and ThunderCats Roar is concerning; however, it's not representative of all current and recent modern animation. We've seen plenty of great cartoons in recent years, showcasing a diverse array of styles and stories... however, most of them haven't been on Cartoon Network. CN really needs to get its act together creatively. Even beyond the abject trash this is, their content has been mediocre at best, for the most part, as of late. (I explain such in other videos on my channel.) Thank you for watching this video!
The problem is that CN is currently run by hacks who think television is a sinking ship. It's not just the shift to internet streaming guys. Maybe it's because 80% of your schedule is the sugar-filled, fat-ridden, nutritionless, substanceless junkfood that is TTG and its derivatives! It's okay to have a show like that. But if you underestimate your audience, they WILL leave.
@@vaimantobe3034 That's the problem, they think television is dying because "HERP-A-DERP STREAMING IS DA FUTURE OF ENTERTAINMENT!" and have basically decided to demand that people cut their cable subscription in favor of streaming services by showing the most mediocre programming imaginable as a means of discouraging people from watching their channel so that people can shift to streaming services. They WANT to die, they don't see streaming services as a threat, they think that because of Netflix and it's original programming and it's convenience that they are already obsolete, and not everyone is willing to oblige to that mentality. Unfortunately they're extreme capitalists who only care about profit and nothing else. I can't really afford Netflix, yet I'm tired of CN and Nick putting out crappy shows because it feels like they want to sell me a Netflix subscription by _discouraging_ me from watching their shows and telling me to watch Netflix's shows instead. That's not a good business strategy, sacrificing your quality for quantity because you WANT your competitor to win as they're of a newer technology.
@@benzj Not ALL current animation is bad, the problem is that CN is far too conservative with what content it wants on it's channel and plays things too safe, and Nickelodeon is very much the same. Disney not so much, they're the best of the three networks right now, despite the fact that many people have become frustrated with the company due to their mishandling of Star Wars and over-reliance on live-action remakes.
It's been happening since Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Steven Universe . Regardless how you feel about those 3 shows, they were the ones that encourage Cartoon Network to stick to this tired out, comedy animation garbage.
The difference is that _Breadwinners_ was actually a good show. It was ridiculous and fun without being annoying and awful like this. They set things up in an engaging way on that show, while they basically skipped doing that here. When I'm forced to watch Teen Titans Go with the kids I babysit, I actually chuckle a few times each episode. I watched this in dead silence, I couldn't believe what I was watching. People comparing this to 'OK KO' have never watched 'OK KO' or at least more than one episode - it's an insult. I'm curious to see how the kids will react when they watch this in Feb. I'm sure they'll laugh when Tygra gets hurt, but I don't see them enjoying anything else. (Also I didn't like Thundercats growing up, so I'm not some angry, old fangirl or anything lol)
I think Teen Titans Go can be enjoyed if you just watch it for what it is. A few episodes are hard to enjoy period, but generally you can watch it while high.
Some people have theorized that this is a revenge of the creator. He mentioned in the promo that his older brothers watched ThunderCats. Some theorized he hated ThunderCats and hated his brothers for making him watch it and he just wants to crap on their childhood and make what they love look “so stupid” to get back at them. I’m willing to go beyond that and guess that Tygra was probably his brother’s favorite character, hence the extra abuse.
To be fair theres really no other cartoon I can think of that I would even remotely compare this unpolished turd to. From what both shows look like roar is just a further devolution from what ttg started.

Original ThunderCats- Gorgeous animation, characters designed by comic book artists, some animators went on to work for Studio Ghibli. 2011 ThunderCats- Much more Anime inspired but still Faithfully gorgeous, one of the absolute best looking hand drawn shows from television even to this day, gave me hope of an animation renaissance (which sadly hasn’t really happened beyond the early 2010’s) This show- They hired the character designer for Pickle and Peanut to be the showrunner. Filled with mean spirited, disrespectful, “ironic” humor that only quality hating hipsters will enjoy.
Honestly I feel bad for all the hate I gave to TTG, cause seeing this I realize how horrible that show could have been. Like at least the characters in TTG are still the same, just flanderized to the point of absurdity. Here, they're all just goofy idiots without a bit of their old personalities in tact. Not even snarf, like how do you make the most annoying character in the original series somehow MORE stupid?
_ThunderCats Roar_ has put so much into perspective. For all TTG's faults, at least it was theoretically possible to make an argument for positives in that show. _Roar_ is nigh-irredeemable. When Snarf seems actually _tolerable_ compared to the other characters... Thank you for watching this video!
It's a shame that this show does not even teach a valued moral at the end. If you can't follow the story line, there is nothing to learn from one actions or inactions. As an adult, and grandmother, I watched the first series. To see where the cartoon has failed, is an insult to us as a viewer. I would not want my grandchildren to watch this. I liked watching cartoons that have a moral at the end. You can talk about these, after the end of the program ends. Bringing you and your children a bit closer. Encouraging more times to watch with each other. This is an insult to any pass cartoon. It almost encourages lack of a learn from one past mistakes, or others. Or worse they feel we are not smart enough to learn something. The only reason is the constant moving forward with a story, that is barely there. This is not the only thing that has suffered, in the last 10 - 15 years. It's across the board, movies, TV programs. It's like all the creative writers have disappeared. Retired, or passed away. Can a change be made? The art style I do not like, but could over look if the story was there, if it could hold the attention of adults and young children. I do believe this was meant for children 5-7 years of age. Which limits how deep of a story line is. But if it was meant for preteens up to 15, well, it does fall far short.
Well, part of the problem isn't really a lack of creative staff, but rather the excessive abuse that they constantly go through. Most of the truly talented ones are blocked out of the industry before they even have a chance or (if they were fortunate enough to get a stable career at all) rejected once they become to competent for networks to easily control. Networks tend to have VERY tight grips on creators and WILL manipulate them to get what they want. They take content away from the original creators as a price for a potentially stable job. Deadlines are usually so tight that it can affect the physical health of employees, not to mention the quality of what they put out. Not to mention outsourced animation, which can prevent young (or highly experienced) animators from getting the jobs they deserve. There are many incredibly talented creative workers who are literally blocked from meeting the demands of quality media. The biggest change to be made is for us, the consumers, to stand up for the rights of these people.
@@legionaireb Unfortunately CN itself is on extremely shaky ground these days. There's a very good chance the current Warner merger (with AT&T ) will end with CN/AS being turned/absorbed into a streaming service. 17:21 - I have seen both series and this is what I can say about their characterizations back then. 1980 - Lion-O had the mentality of ignorant youth, but this wasn't really his fault as his statis pod from Exodus got damaged and his body grew up. Even Wily-Kit and Kat were as old as he was and did have some sense of maturity. Snarf was annoying but he had a heart of gold and even had an episode where he used his limited skills to save the Cats. The others were experienced fighters and Panthro was a mechanical genius. However, as time goes on, Lion-O begins to overcome trials and eventually grows into a proper leader and his chivalrous attitude is not played with laughs. Mumm-Ra and the Mutants took villainy as serious as they could, especially the former. 2011 - The story, setting and characters got retconned royally, but the Cats were at their lowest. Tigra (who was adopted by the King and is revealed in Season 2 why) and Lion-O didn't get along very well and there was a small love triangle with Cheetara, Lion-O was an inexperienced leader who had to deal with the loss of his father and kingdom to a surprise attack from Mumm-Ra/Lizards and Panthro eventually loses his arms. Snarf was like this Snarf but without the gadgets and Wily Kit-Kat were brother and sister who ran away from home to find treasure so their family would never go hungry again after their father died. The Mutants (who are now animals) also get quite the upgrade as they use advanced weaponry and the Jackal/Baboon become extremely dangerous generals under Mumm-Ra that best the Cats on several occasions. There were still themes and seriousness and you truly watch as each of the cats grow and become a better team. However, this show got cancelled due to bad toy sales and lack of interest.

@@MWH12085 Rick and Morty isn't a show for "smart people" it's a comedy, so they make pop culture references. Pop culture references are not a Warner Brothers thing it's a comedy thing. This makes me so glad that the Swat Kats did not come back with new episodes after all. The only shows (at this moment) I would take a gamble on, are M.A.S.K. and The Fantastic Four. Both IP’s have room for improvement. But I’d say it would be better to wait till we get rid of all the loser millennials first (who can’t hold the straps of a Bruce Timm and Stan Lee if their life depends on it)! On the bright side, we got Young Justice back, and it’s a continuation of the previous continuity!
About half of today's cartoon have this exact same Art Style Gumball was the only one to do it well, because the show was animation porn to look at. This is not, this is animation gore.
When I was a kid I used to draw cartoons all the time but they were absolutely terrible looking which pretty much said to me I had no future in animation. The fact that we now have multiple shows where the art quality is even worse than what I used to come up with as 9 year old makes me wish I'd stuck with it.
This singlehandedly destroyed my childhood and all my hope for the human race and the future of cartoons. I mean this is an insult to the original cartoon form the 90s and the 2011 version. And the saddest thing is I'm 17 years old and to me the good times for cartoons was the 90s to 2014. I mean iven my six year old sister hates this.
I wouldn’t worry too much, this has been going on for 5 years, it’s finally hitting these studios in the wallet and I think they will change their toons mighty quickly (see what I did there) heck, the studio has absolutely no faith in this hence why they quietly released it on the app, with absolutely no fanfare. Rumor has it that it was cancelled before it even aired and they are just putting the finished episodes out just because. Another rumor has it that they are talking about Real revivals of ThunderCats, possibly based on the success of the He Man series on Netflix. Personally, I would rather they pick up the 2011 series, not just because it was great and I want closure but it is a show that was so ahead of it’s time, not just because of the gorgeous anime aesthetic but because it is a perfect show for streaming.

"His face *BLEEDS* Tumblr art style" Even Tumblr has better art than this, and that's saying something. Actually, even DeviantArt and FurAffinity has more artistic value than this...
Freaking Will Friedle, Dee Bradley Baker, Matthew Mercer, Clancy Brown, Kevin Michael Richardson, Satomi Korogi, and Robin Atkin Downes were all in the 2011 reboot and all of them, as we all know, are extremely talented. The voice artists in ThunderCats Roar, among them being Max Mittelman and Erica Lindbeck, are extremely talented as well, but their talents are just being wasted with this spin-off of OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes and a complete downgrade from the source material.
My controversial theory: this is all about money. CN is hoping this is "good enough" to fill the space between ads. I bet they're paying talentless, desperate people slave wages to produce this crap. I mean, we've seen them take advantage of other creatives who collaborated with them...
Um... Is this even a theory? Networks have been PROVEN to do that stuff all the time. Also, cheap outsourced animation is already a well-known process, not some secret conspiracy. The worst part of this is the fact that these animators may not actually BE as talent less as they appear. Many of these people are probably physically worn-down and deprived of basic needs due to a ridiculously extreme time schedule.
@@kidwolf0015 I saw a news story about some poor creative that had worked with CN for years. He was working insane hours, owned nothing and couldn't afford proper medical care. He dropped dead in his early 50s, I think - after providing them a lot to f content they made money off of. It made me glad I didn't purse animation as a career.
Basically every time you said "this could have been an episode", it was in the original series. This two-parter was effectively the entirety of season 1 of the original show.
@@Ramsey276one I'm thinking it's because they felt they *had* to retell the base story before going on to their own thing. Which again, makes absolutely no sense because they've said this isn't for oldschool ThunderCats fans, it's (supposedly) for a new younger generation.
Quite a few modern cartoon makers out there seem to have forgotten a fundamental factor in animation. Just because it's animation, that doesn't mean it's exclusively for kids. The biggest names in cartoon history have made material that both kids AND adults can love. Disney was the biggest example of this since the 30's. Then, in the 90's and early; animators made shows that both age groups still remember today. Examples include but are not limited to Dexter's Lab, Cow & Chicken, Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, Samurai Jack, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, the original Teen Titans, Scooby Doo and scores of other examples. With all this in mind, the question yet remains...what went wrong? When did networks become so cheap, uninspired and lazy
I'm sensing real "every generation's shows after mine is garbage" vibes here, but the availability and accessibility of animation has never been greater. This is arguably one of the least stigmatic times for animation ever (and to a lesser extent kids' TV in general). The bigger issue is networks' endless desire to reboot old franchises, rather than creating new concepts for this (and future) generations to enjoy. It's _that_ trend that is uninspired and lazy. "Every generation's shows before this one is _creating_ garbage", in a sense. Thank you for watching this video!
There have always been duds. In the 80s alone there were so many toy cartoons that forgot to be a cartoon. But those weren't remembered. Now the bad shows are just given more spotlight due to social media, forums, and youtube. People wouldn't remember Pickle and Peanut as well as they do if it was made in the 90s due to this. That said, the animation fan communities are better than ever too!
@@benzj It's not simply that, there are some really great shows on these days that I've come to love. Examples include Summer Camp Island, Loud House, Apple & Onion, Victor and Valentino, We Bare Bears, Amphibia and more recently, Owl House. The problem I'm trying to point out here is while these shows must exist along stuff like Thundercats Roar. Networks choose to put more attention on the new stuff and less on material that's "easier to do" by comparison. Think of how many times the latter shows got ignored in favor of stuff like Titans Go filling the schedule all day. Why put so much more attention on the new stuff, instead of trying to finish what's currently running? I can't recall the last time a new We Bare Bears premiered and that show's been greenlit for a new season

I loved the original show as a kid, and I am absolutely perplexed as who this is even for. Fans are going to hate it because it is so radically different and kids aren't going to get all the references, so again, who is this even for?
It's a valid question. Given the franchise isn't the most popular or prevalent thing, and that the show was recently rebooted already, you have to wonder why they thought it was a good idea to make another reboot... It reminds me of the Captain Planet _OK KO_ episode in how baffling and out-of-left-field this idea is. Thank you for watching this video!
I remember watching the promo where we saw the making of the show and the creator talking about it he said "for every bit of humor there will be double the action" I know it's only the first episode but I think he is wrong.

The same can be said about CN as a whole these days.

Like how every show had the Adventure-Time style, now it’s the Steven Universe style. Not trying to hate, but I’ve never liked either style.
Tuna Scroll To be honest, that’s one of the things I despise the most about western animation nowadays. If they REALLY cared about the future of 2D animation and cartoons, they wouldn’t copy the successful shows from before; instead, they would at least TRY to come up with something different and allow risks! Ù-Ú Shame.
•{ Sapphony }•
Yeah, I agree.
Copying the successful stuff will not make you successful....
IF YOU DON’T MAKE EFFORTS!!!
Adventure time style is not really calart
I guess it could pass off as a parody or a spin-off, but NEVER, EVER in a million years will I count this monstrosity of a "show" as a Thundercats reboot.
I'm just waiting for the next thundercats reboot to mock this one and i'm sure it will.
(I explain such in other videos on my channel.)
Thank you for watching this video!

I can’t believe tumblr and reddit made a show
It's a shame that this show does not even teach a valued moral at the end.
I legitimately thought that after the initial backlash of the show, that CN dropped the show entirely. Hope's, deleted.

Even Tumblr has better art than this, and that's saying something. Actually, even DeviantArt and FurAffinity has more artistic value than this...
Me: Mom I wanna watch thundercats
Mom: we already have thundercats at home
Thundercats at home:
They introduced our characters on holographic stat cards, I'm-
Speechless?
Gay?
I would much rather have a continuation of the rebooted Thundercats
TTG: Suddenly I'm lookin' a whole lot better.
I mean, we've seen them take advantage of other creatives who collaborated with them...
until they realize the only thing keeping people around is Steven Universe, once Future ends, that's it for them
Snarf looks like the only character the art style works for.
Teen Titans go: *stand next to* now we're safe
And here's hoping TTG will bring this piece of shit to its fuckin knees.
Honestly it sucks if you haven't seen the original, but it's even worse if you have. It's just insulting.
This art style wasn't worth the digital tablet it was created on.
Basically every time you said "this could have been an episode", it was in the original series. This two-parter was effectively the entirety of season 1 of the original show.
HOLY CRAP WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!?!?!
The people who now run CN are at fault they let this happen because they dont care
Benzie: who thought this was a good idea?
Cartoon Network: WE GOTTA GET MORE... MONEY
I honestly don't love to hate it. I wish I never had to hate anything that had to do with ThunderCats. This is something I just wish never existed.
Ned Flanders: “Once upon a time a group of not cats led by an immature man child called, Lion O went straight to the firery pits of Hell for their lazy incompetence. The end.” /casually tosses a copy of a Thundercats Roar DVD into his fireplace/ Rod and Todd: “Yay!”
This show is for Man Children who vaguely know what Thunder Cats is.
This show makes _Teen Titans Go!_ look like _Infinity Train_ .
I remember watching the promo where we saw the making of the show and the creator talking about it he said "for every bit of humor there will be double the action"
I know it's only the first episode but I think he is wrong.
I blame Teen Titans Go. I don't even hate it, but it being any kind of success made someone think they could reboot any show in the same style. Difference is, Thunder Cats wasn't slapsticky from the get go, Titans was.
They made a crossover with TEEN TITANS GO. that says all about the standards they set for themselves.
They should have called this *ThunderCats GO!!*
They may as well have killed the pretense.
