@@carlacarrero4975 See though the question is did they buy the merch because of Go, or because they saw reruns of the original and the character designs were largely unchanged beyond a shift in art style meaning the merch was indistinguishable from merch made for the original?
@@carlacarrero4975 Sure. It couldn't have been that Cartoon Network continually flooded their timeline with Teen Titans GO! marathons on the regular... Constantly forcing it in people's faces had nothing to do with it.
The fact that Michael Jelenic was "inspired" by the outrage enough to spend years and thousands of dollars to put this together solidifies beyond a shadow of a doubt to me that the man should've never been given the reigns to ThunderCats back in 2011.
@Neil Brown still better comdey than thunder cats roar. I rarther watch a seasons worth of boku no pico than a season of thunder cats roar. At least boku no pico could do comedy. The girl with the banana had me in tears that shit was helrious. I would watch it again.
I mean sure there are shows that have a slower pace at the start or that are harder to get into because of the theme or story or yada yada yada, I get those...but TCR is just so bloody painful to watch. One episode that was all I needed and I wished that I could re-watch Boku no Pico after that thing to wash my eyes...true that it's poison what I'm using to wash them but is better than TCR.
I feel like this is one of those shows like Totally Spies where years later people will look back and wonder if it was used as fetish fuel. Except unlike Totally Spies this show was hated when it was announced, has been hated while its been running, and will likely be hated even after it ends. And its supposed target audience grows out of it fast with this quality of writing and animation. If anyone likes the show more power to them, but I've never seen a die-hard Teen Titans Go fan.
There is this scene I saw by accident where Robin is pretending to be a kid on a kid's pagent and trows a bouquet in the air, grabs it with what seems to be his butchicks, the bouquet slowly enters what it seems to be his arse and then he turns around to show that it went to his pocket. I just stood there in the middle of the living room for a good time.
and better when the go plague is trashed from the earth teen titans go killed EVERY action adventure story show on CW it literally rebooted my child hood into trash runing any chance for serious continuations good bye teen titans ben 10 thundercats powerpuff girls and what ever is doomed to die next kids of all ages are treated like there 2 by companies today silent loonny toons had way better stories and characters then any of this 2016 to 2020 trash
Thundercats Roar has just been one big backfire over another. The trailer comes out, it's terrible, the showrunner obviously hates the original source material. Then comes TTG to run damage control and do it so poorly, they now have to run damage control for the damage control. It's always telling that they need to make the other side look bad by making the four comically enraged to the point of destruction, while Starfire shows no emotion and is seen as the "voice of reason" while giving no rebuttal or defense. It's an under-handed tactic they use, so they point to this episode and say "Well, I don't have to make a point, look how _YOUR_ side acts." The worst part about this is they had the nerve to desecrate Earle Hyman's most iconic role with the Panthro's Skeletal corpse. They claim it's from the comic, but if you ever read that particular issue, he's alive, so that's just a deflect. TTG and TCR are both very mean spirited shows by mean spirited people done so badly out of spite.
Saw the first trailer, heard the guy talking about the potential comedy the show has and sat back. Their planet gets destroyed, their species nearly gets wiped out and an evil undead sorcerer wants to finish the job. Potential for comedy? That is a whiplash of Bambi level proportions.
Coming from the show that used clowns as an allegory for cartoons being for children and a dying child as a human shield against criticism, I ain't surprised, and they aren't even worth the time of day so them trying to defend something is like being defended by the most hated thing on earth, only make things worse.
I watched TTG for a little bit and when I first saw the clown episode, the analogy flew right over my head. I had no idea that's what they were doing and I have to imagine others felt the same way. If so, then their pushback to criticism wouldn't hit because people wouldn't know that's what they were doing.
Thank you! The writers are just a bunch of snowflakes who can’t handle negative/honest opinions. So they just wasted time and money to make a episode to attack their critics. Again.
The crossover was tasteless, obnoxious, arrogant, petty, and and downright disrespectful; if they can't handle criticism, they should not be working in mainstream television
That's what it means to be distinctive tho? To know who it is supposed to be is the point of it being distinctive... I'm not saying it was ok or anything, I think it was a stupid decision. But it being clear who it is is the definition of distinctive.
What makes CN think that doing this crossover was gonna work? Thundercats roar is getting bashed by fans and I'm one of them, TTG is still a pile of beastboy crap so why would they do this? Also bashing the people that bashed your show yeah good job CN that won't make you look bad at all. 10:09 you and me both
This is TTG writing room patting itself on the back and smelling their own farts. CN already let it die on arrival. This is just TTG abusing their contracts.
One guy had his young daughter watch the trailer for 'roar' and give her opinion. She never seen the original, didn't have any interest in it. You could see she was totally uninterested in 'roar' and was bored by the end. She did chuckle a few times (kids will laugh at silliness) but soon she was back to being apathetic to it. She is their target demographic, yet she had no interest in actually watching the show after seeing the trailer.
The difference between Animaniacs and shows like TTG and TCR is that Animaniacs was INCREDIBLY well written and very smart. While the adult jokes went over most kids' heads, Animaniacs didn't dumb down the writing just because kids were watching. They respected the audience, regardless of age.
There was one time when Animaniacs got EXTREMELY toxic toward rest of the animation industry through ("Back in Style"). Kinda sign of things to come in retrospect...
Its sad that the original VA for Lion-o had to be dragged into this... that said I cant blame the guy... does anyone remember what happened to the original VA for She-ra when she tried to defend the fans or the original show ? The writers and artists as well as fans of the new show immediately went after her and bullied the crap out of the poor old woman.
Cartoon Network logic: "Doesn't matter what old fans think, kids will watch our awful shows" But here is the issue with that, old fans with kids would not let them watch this and probably they will show their children the original shows instead. (And never buy any of the reboots toys or merchandise).
RoyFokker93 most people from other countries have never heard of thundercats also if that were the case then teen titans go wouldn’t be airing till this day also as long as your cartoon doesn’t have creepy or gross moments like adventure time or flapjack the. Parents aren’t going to give a fuck not every parent is a cartoon fanatic
I think Teen Titans Go is a Poop show with poop opinions. I also think Thundercats Roar is a Poop show with Poop opinions. Yes, I have seen at least 3 episodes of Teen Titans Go. Was not impressed with any of them. I want the 2011 Thundercats back - which I was initially on the fence about because the characters didn't act like how I'd expected them to. Given the world building however, I came to enjoy it.
Unfortunately I've seen too much of teen titans go, be glad you only seen three episodes. I also didn't like the 2011 Thundercats at first view, partly cuz I rarely like things at the first view but also because of my preference to fully human characters.
The sad part is I know it could be good. I've watched the movie twice and thought it was hilarious. Heck, I'd put on par with Deadpool 2 in terms of comedy. Sadly, it doesn't seem the writers learned that people would like their stuff more if actual effort is put into it.
Considering the fact that I’m literally 12 years old, I grew up on Teen Titans Go. Luckily enough, I’m old enough to understand that it’s really not a good show. My little brother loves it though.
For a show that's supposedly for kids, the message of "poop mouth people with poopy opinions" is a rather terrible one. Not only does it discourage honest conversation, but also fuels the current social climate where people try to destroy one another just for having different political viewpoints. Furthermore, they're claiming that people who don't like Teen Titans Go! and Thundercats Roar! are arrogant bigots with nothing better to do with their lives. And yet, they decided to spend company time and money to produce an episode addressing a bad reaction to a show they aren't even involved in. They drummed up months old drama to address critics who got their opinions out within hours of Thundercats Roar!'s unveiling, and yet they claim the critics are the childish ones. This episode was just a waste of everyone's time quite frankly. Kids who weren't around for this drama won't understand what they're referencing, especially since the new Thundercats show has barely had any episodes released. People who don't like either show will like it even less than they did before, and those who may have wanted to give it a chance may not even do that now. This episode is going to age terribly, just like all their other takes on their "haters".
Flarestorm Thank you! The writers are just a bunch of snowflakes who can’t handle negative/honest opinions. So they just wasted time and money to make a episode to attack their critics. Again.
@@Cloud-zb8lw true but the most of the haters are also snowflakes they can't handle new TV shows they act like boomers sure hate or like the show still just because old show got removed doesn't mean you should hate the new show I mean I like TTG because it's more unique than the original
Lion-O:"You were always there keeping an eye on me, I wouldn't be the man I am without you." He lays the numb chucks on the grave. Lion-O:"Thank you." (Earle Hyman 1926-2017) Sorry but fan tribute art kind of gets to me and there wasn't enough for him.

Its funny how they present people who dislike this show as creepy basement dwelling man babys who are to focused on a kids cartoon and nostalgia. Failing to see the irony in the fact that they spent literal days or even weeks.... Spit balling concepts, filling out spred sheets, confirming cross over concepts, going over potential story flow ideas, writing a script, hiring comedians to consult on jokes, passing that script on to editors, proof reading script, finalizing script concept, creating story boards, arguing over which ones will be used in the cartoon, creating concepts for a 1980s lion-o, creating concept for 1980s snarf(also interesting they used 1980s snarf and not 2010 snarf...its as if there trying to make there snarf look like the cutest one or something...) and 2010 lion-o, contacting and hiring the old voice actor for lion-o potentially paying him hundreds of thousands just to say a dig at the end of the episode, recording voice lines, redoing voice lines, going over audio to make sure its convincing or up to standards, finalizing story board, making animations, coloring those animations, polishing those animations, adding filters to make it look better, creating background art for each scene, and finalizing the editing to ship out to be put onto cartoon network.....And they missed Panthros skeleton, because of this mistake now they have to deal with potential stock losses because of bad PR. At the end of the day....who really wasted there time more? the people who spent at most 12 minutes maybe looking up videos of thunder cats roar....or the people who spent AT LEAST a week making an episode that amounted to "we dont like your opinion" that made you look as though you were mocking the death of a beloved actor....all this for a show with low ratings and low viewer count.....bravo, someone who actually hates the show couldn't have done it any worse...
@@slumbertrap6506 One season is Aproximately 26 episodes and TTG is 2 eleven minute episodes. They make all 26 episodes at once and it is animated overseas.TTG is animated in Flash. Typically flash shows look very stiff and robotic but it does a suprisingly good job with flash. Hand Drawn animation is always better though.
I knew a guy who spend ~2 years making a 4+ hour movie about how terrible some guy's self-insert was, as if doing so would end the genre. He's as awful a person as you'd think he is.
"Maybe In the future, they could put your energy into something more important." Says the people that took the time, money, and resources to make a crossover with the sole intent to insult and belittle people instead of making good enjoyable content
Except those people are being paid to do this. Peoppe bashing on the show have nothing better to do than bash on a show when they could just not watch it and ignore it. Why do people keep bashing TTG as of bashing it is going to do anything. It's not supposed to be like the og cartoon and it never claimed to be so. TTG is it's own seperate thing the same way the comics are it's own seperate thing. Peoppe just need to move on. And this is from someone who hates the new thundercats
@@BabyGirlTiny Because the shows are ripe for bashing. Not bashing them wouldn't make them any more watchable, in fact I suspect the people who bash them are the only ones keeping these garbage shows alive. Just because people bash on the show doesn't mean they don't have better things to do - the problem is the show is just genuinely annoying and worse, the animators express so much undeserved arrogance. It seems every third episode is dedicated to them trying to talk about how the show is actually really good and giving themselves congratulatory back-pats. The reason they are paid to do this is of course because Cartoon Network is notorious for terrible ideas. These are the same people who have had a decades long Scooby Doo kick. As it stands, Cartoon Network's only kept alive by a lack of actual competition in terms of cartoon television - if another cartoon channel popped up and started making actual cartoons instead of these weird self-glorifying trash heaps, Cartoon Network would be ruined.
The attempt to discredit Raven's point just revealed the writers' true beliefs: they view cartoons for kids as mindless filth to profit off of. They don't care about the shows they work on, as long as kids are distracted long enough to get those ratings. And my only guess why other review channels are defending TCR while ignoring valid criticisms could be that they know western media is in serious decline in quality, loosing much of their viewership to anime for example, and these channels feel the need to defend any western media when things like the art style is under criticism.
To those defending TCR over art style and animation, while there is an audience for that kind of content, many people would rather enjoy other content from TH-cam, video games, anime/manga, etc, coz they provide something they deemed worth more their time and dollar. Western cartoons need to do better and the staff to leave their bubble and really see why people feel this way. Insulting fans is not good business. Mainstream comics, for example, insulted the fans and butchered pre-established characters and now lost many of their fan base to the brink of collapse. Fans will find/create alternatives and there'll be nothing these professionals can do about it except for what they're already doing: whine and whine while accusing fans of everything they are.
Jodoublen that of they’re taking about a specific type of show. People who are upset over teen titans go don’t understand the type of show teen titans go was meant to be. It was never meant to be taken seriously nor was it meant to be related to the cartoon, yet people bash and hate it because they feel it’s ruining the original characters, when these characters have nothing to do with the cartoon characters, just like the cartoon characters have nothing to do with the comic characters. There’s shows for everyone. Teen titans go wasn’t meant for the older crowd because it’s humor has always been childish and stupid and it never was meant to be anything more. That’s what I think thunder cats roar is supposed to represent. The only problem, is that I don’t think thundercats roar is supposed to be separate from the OG, so unlike teen titans go, which has the excuse of being a comic property and therefore is able to have as many variations and differences without affecting anything, thundercats doesn’t have that.
@@BabyGirlTiny Yeah, think I agree with the Teen Titans Go issue that it really does separate itself from the original and is it's own thing. Lots of kids do tune in for reasons we don't always agree with. And the initial spark of outrage from the OG fans was from the fact that the original had ended and the network moved on. Thundercats Roar's outrage is similar, but from right when the show starts its a recreation of the original story instead of coming up with it's own story suited for the kind of humor they want it to be.
@@BabyGirlTiny TTG ratings started to raising up when they used jokes and references for adult audiences, one of the best episodes have a 80s song, its kind hipocrite to say your show its only for kids at this point, they forget some parents watch the show with their children and if they find the show stupid and irritating, they switch the channel, but since it have some episodes an adult can enjoy, the kids watches the show and parents allow it
TTG has a long tradition of episodes designed to "pwn" the haters with little to no self awareness. They dismiss fair honest criticisms by hyper focusing on the vocal minority who just seem to hate everything. This "crossover" is more reminiscent of the family guy cutaway gag where Bob from Bob's Burgers appears and Peter explains they have to carry him and that it didn't go so well the last time they let someone fly on their own followed by cleveland spiraling and crashing. A very apt comparison for TTG and other CN cartoons that have come and gone.
Its a good thing to avoid this series, cause after seeing other reviews and it will cause a massive loss of brain cells. Although this is what happens when you have the head of your studio be a spiteful uncreative soyboy man-bun.
a spiteful uncreative soyboy man-bun that also HATES the source material he's working from. now idk about you but if you're gonna make a reboot of something maybe you should hire someone that's actually a fan of the original and will know how to make a reboot that's not only decent but still faithful to the original, not this thundercats roar garbage.
Yeah, Panthro's skeleton wasn't paying homage to a scene in 'Thundercats: The Return' (Thundercats comic - which was pure trash, in its own right); as the skeleton was a red herring (it implied that Panthro was dead; but it was Bengali's skeleton. Panthro was alive and well, working as a slave for the mutants).
We don't talk about the Wildstorm comic... WE DO NOT TALK ABOUT THE WILDSTORM COMIC... Plus even doing that gag, pretty much showed Victor Courtwright can outdo Rian Johnson for Cunt of the Century
It’s funny how they’re calling us “trash” “mommies boys” and that everyone is a weird freak, but whatever they drew to portray us weirds even US out, so THEY’RE the real weirdos for even thinking up about that stuff. Also wasn’t their argument before that being weird was ok when THEY did it?
What's funny is the argument "If you keep watching it you'll like it eventually" doesn't even work. At least not in most most cases-unless the Stockholm syndrome is severe. For me and a lot of people, being forced to watch things we don't like just makes them more insufferable. And in my experience the opposite has even happened. I used to love Miraculous Ladybug, but as I watched more and more episodes I got bored with the constantly recycled plot and formula and how all the episodes were the same. Unless there is some major aspect or clincher that can stop me from disliking a show, nothing can change my mind about it.
This kind of stuff is why I do not and never will respect Teen Titans Go. Every time the "hate" for this shows goes down they create an episode attacking the fans, but it is always a one sided perspective. However I understand why they did this episode, its because Thundercats Roar is essentially a "reboot" inspired by Teen Titans Go. That is why the show creator went out of his way to do this, which makes him and his crew look even more petty and just pathetic people. Honestly TTG has cause CN to become a joke, if it weren't for Gumball CN would have been forgotten by the world.
BMX!!! Agreed on Adventure Time, not so much Steven Universe considering how poorly they air that show, like literary you blink and you missed an episode.
Francisco Rafael Montiel Palencia true, but I was more so speaking about shows that are actually good, and a reason to watch the channel.those three shows were the only real reason to watch cn
Francisco Rafael Montiel Palencia Steven universe is my personal favorite show on cn but I understand if people don’t like it.as long as your respecting others opinions.
Exhibit A of why straw man arguments are bad. You misrepresent one side and box yourself into a corner if you get it wrong. I can only assume they use the "vegan animators" joke as a stereotype to what "conservatives" call liberals, but that may hit too close to home. The lead guy on Thundercats Roar is a walking stereotype of a vegan.
Wait is Starfire arguing that it’s not fair for the Titans to hate TCG because they haven’t seen it when it started with them watching the premiere? Did I misunderstand or did the the writers mess up?
No. The issue here is that Starfire isn't elaborating or explaining why she seems to like the show in spite of how awful it is when her friends detract from it.
Same here. It also bothers me how despite having a clear light source, they only bothered to draw shadows under Starfire and Raven. Heck, the shadows are both perfectly circular, don't match the light direction, and aren't even the right size (Raven's head is bigger than her shadow, for example). You can see it at 15:23.
@@flarestorm9417 Starfire and Raven almost always float kinda like Cosmo and Wanda. The shadow is just there to let you know they are flying. In my opinion you shouldn't even bother with shadows in a tv cartoon you should put that monety into the movement.
First, I really want to say a huge THANK YOU about TTG not really being a "kids show." When people complain about TTG it's usally how "They made it a comedy show for little kids!" while not mentioning the really questionable, sometimes downright mean-spirited and gross material in the show. And yes, a more comedic take on estblished superheroes aimed at kids, can still work and prove faithful in some way. The original TT cartoon was like that for the comics and even shows like Batman: The Brave and the Bold. TTG on the other hand feels less like a continuation of the NTT shorts, which were basically those comedic, chibi spin-offs of action shows you see in anime, and more of it's own thing with a TT paint job. More interested in doing their own weird brand of comedy than being a mostly faithful comedic take on establsihed heroes while exploring more TT and DC lore. I also personally don't mind some shows meant for kids that push the envelope and even grew up on some like Animaniacs but a big difference compared to them and TTG is 1) usually how well-written, subtle or tactful the joke is handled rather than just farting in someone's face and/or 2) They're their own original properties instead of forcing some dark humor on normally heroic established characters. I was actually excited for the show and gave it fair chance trying to see the good it had until an early season 2 episode that involved a jealous Beast Boy nearly murdering Aqualad for dating Raven and being rewarded for it by Raven herself was when I threw up my arms. The "Vegan" joke is probably a reference to "Soyboys" which was an insult thrown around a lot at the manbun guy from the TCR trailer. TTG's been inconsistant with BB's diet but consistant with portraying him as an idiot so either or. Lord, this episode. The fact it was written before any of the TCR episodes actually aired and based mainly on usual reboot complaints makes sense. It's like TTG was told to take a break from complaining about their haters, but used TCR as an expy because they still had some rage left after 6 seasons and 2 movies. Really, I get some fans can be frustrating but you're better off just trying to make a good show instead of dedicating episodes complaining about strawmen. Especially now people have loads of LEGITIMATE concerns about both TTG and TCR. The excuse for the Panthro skeleton just sounds flimsy and even still somebody should have realized that wasn't appropriate regardless. And fun fact, Michael Jelenic who works on TTG also worked on the much better 2011 Thundercats. He probablly still has some issues over that.
KelpieTales oh please Ed edd n Eddy total drama and adventure time have done more questionable things that almost made my parent stop letting me watch those and when I showed my parent the most mean spirited episode of teen titans go there was no reaction my parent didn’t hate it and didn’t think of it as a big deal but my parent till this day hates edd ed n Eddy , flapjack and adventure time for their weird and gross moments
@@carlacarrero4975 Parents have different standards on what's ok for their kids and that's their business. As I said before, lots of kids shows have done "adult" humor but usually handle it differently than TTG. My big gripe was really how so many say "it's for babies" with out being aware what's really going on in it. There's also that those shows are their own properties and not taking a established franchise and disregarding their characters for writing that doesn't fit. Like I mentioned before with how horrible they made Beast Boy and Raven act towards Aqualad as well as all the characters coming off as assholes at times it have all of them do gross out humor. That's what pisses a lot of people off about TTG when they were fine with other shows. Ed, Edd, and Eddy at least acknowledged the Kankers were bullies and antagonists when they tortured the Eds.
KelpieTales except teen titans are a dc property and they constantly change character whenever they want. Saying they messed up established characters make no sense, when those established characters have so many different variations of them that there’s no real canon way they can be. Why is cyborg even part of the teen titans when he’s part of the justice league now. This show isn’t based off of the cartoon show, so when people claim that it is, it makes no sense. This is another version of the teen titans just like everything other comic has their own version of teen titans
@@BabyGirlTiny they messed up established characters because they used the same coustomes back story and CHRACTERS from the teen titans tv show no one would care if they made up a new version of the titans like the shite live actions titans show people only hated that for having coustomes so shite you could do better with 10 bucks in party city
When I saw the first teaser trailer, it inspired me to draw out my own story board for a (hypothetical) Thundercats movie. My mom was a big Thundercats fan, hell her nickname was Cheetara in middle school track (or was it highschool?)! Sadly she past away in 07, and never got the chance to see the 2011 reboot. So my Thundercats will come from a place of love, and would combine elements that made both shows great!
Thundercats Roar is a horribly unfunny, terribly drawn mess of a show. Yes, I was a fan of the original and even liked the 2011 reboot. My kids have never seen either and don’t like TCR. TTG has some funny and inspired moments but can be over the top ( not in a good way). There is nothing redeeming about TCR.
I'm back after saberspark literally did the worst thing imaginable and tried to gaslight everyone into thinking this was actually a good show. Literally disregarding the extreme insecurity of the writers and their constant mockery of the fans. This show is genuinely awful and I'm like.. God damn I thought this dude actually cared about what he critiqued but he thinks watching bootleg movies warrants mediocrity
Just to make it clear, no BB's not vegan he's vegetarian. He just won't eat meat, and even vegetarians can hate on vegans. Vegans have the reputation of being kind of forceful and narrow-minded, which sadly also gets associated with vegetarians because people don't bother to learn the difference.
So we get the 2011 reboot of Thundercats cancelled and it is replaced by TC: Roar, that basiclly just mocks the fans of the original Thundercats AND the 2011 show and just don't want to admit that what they have created is entirley bad. Yeah, makes total sense.
They scrapped the 2011 reboot because it wasn’t selling enough toys apparently. Funny I didn’t even know they were selling toys of that show to begin with. Shows how well they marketed it. It’s like they didn’t even understand that they have to actually market the toys and make commercials for them rather than expected people to immediately know they exist. And because of this lack of toy sales it was replaced LEGO Chima or whatever in hopes it would sell more, it barely did and now we have TCR as the result of there idiocy.
The same issue as Teen Titans...show gets cancelled and TTG mocks the fans of 2003 show. Just rubbing salt in the wounds. I feel like people might have less issues with TTG if they had at the very least finished the original.
I didn't like teen titans go and every time I get in contact with it I get a new reason to hate it, I think it shows a lot of terrible examples for children and it has a unbearably childish humor (even with their racy jokes).
I started out wanting to give it a try and got so disgusted at an early season 2 episode I gave up watching regularly. I tried to give it a chance again or at least see certain eps, but there would then be another disgusting episode that killed my interests again almost everytime. And seriously, it really is hard calling it a "kids show" with some of the disturbing crap pulled.
It's ashame that they cancelled ThunderCats, 2011 it was set 52 episodes, but it got cancelled after 26 episodes. And it was gonna come on Adult Swim on Toonami, like Samurai Jack. While they were doing stuff for season 2, Cartoon Network pulled the plug for #Chima. We all remember how great and awesome Chima was right. It was such a great show, that ThunderCats 2011, deserve to get cancelled for it. We all wanted to get some toys for Chima, just like ThunderRats Roar (Sarcasm). I must have a poop mouth with poop opinions. They got me talking like a toddler now. Btw, I haven't watched Toddler Titans Go, or BlunderRats Roar, they're both poop. I keep on wishing that Teen Titans Go No more get's cancelled but it's not happening. Toddler Titans Go is the show I hate more than any other because of stuff like this. Also, M and J, how are you surprised a show like this goes for the low hanging fruit. We know after all CN has a habit of canceling things early, midway, or near competition. They cancelled He-man 2001 after 1 or 2 seasons before they were gonna introduce She-Ra/Adora in the middle of the development of it's season. Naruto was cancelled when they showed 209 out of 220, it's retarded right, they never showed the series completely, then the fools started all over again instead of showing the rest of the episodes? Please, anyone correct me if I'm wrong. We all know how CN loves to cancel shows how is the Toddler Titans still not cancelled? I will list some of the good shows or programs cancelled by CN. Toonami, MAR, Scan2Go, Zatch Bell, MegaMan: Star Force, Redakai: Conquer of the Kairu, Eye Shield 21, The Misadventures of Flapjack, Chowder, Camp Lazo, OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes!, ThunderCats 2011, Young Justice (which I believe that and Titans were # 1 streaming ondemand). Dur why did CN cancelled YJ, for "duh toy sales?" We're Cartoon Network no matter how high the ratings is for action shows, and we will cancel them anyway just for the toy despite our crappy advertising, bad scheduling, time and money wasted being half-baked. They wasted the potential of many good shows. Also, there's a rumor of a prequel Courage the Cowardly Dog series, I'm not sure how I would feel about that because I don't think I really care about what happened to Courage in a prequel, I don't want another Total Dramarama. Also, people had been trying to get a IDK if it's a reboot, sequel, or a spin-off Galactic KND or #GKND, so instead of doing something like this that's more light-hearted on their wheelhouse they chose to bastardized a show. Also they been trying a GKND series for a while longer so they would of had more time and they didn't have to start anything from scratch like BlunderRats Roar.
I can’t believe that the writers have the audacity to make a reference to the death of the original voice actor of Panthro that is so disrespectful and inappropriate. The writers should also grow up because of the lines “poop mouths with poop opinions.” I hope this show gets cancelled.

It didn’t make a argument for Thunder Cats Roar because you can’t make an argument for it this show is garbage and this episode just proves I’d say the only reaso it exists is to make money but that’s clearly a lie
@Neil Brown I mean, Steven Universe isn't all that bad. It has great action scenes, great characters, a good premise, cool fusions, character development, story, lore, and the reveal the Rose and Pink were the same. I'd say it's at least decent. I'm not gonna immediately hate on ThunderCats Roar, especially since I thought it had at least one redeeming quality, but it does need to get better. Royally.
@@angrygarbanzo5436 Wow! Must've done well on that fanart - tons of people recognize my take on Ashyara despite tiny size. I'm pretty surprised how well known RGE actually is :/ (by all means he's not all that big on YT or Twitter)

Thou he is more of an 'eastern media' type so many people who still stick with comics and animation in the west must look somewhere else for legit reviews of what's happening... especially on more female fandom side of things (good outlet for that would be Clownfish as well). But I guess the overlap might be bigger than some people expect~ RGE seems to had became a little magnet for artists for some reason so that's least one point.
Well, you say at the end that TCR is going to catch flag for the episode even though it happened on TTG but honestly good. They deserve what's coming to them. If they don't care enough to do their job then why should I care to watch their crappy show?
Kawaii Cooki UwU they don’t care the only reason why this episode even exist is to show that petitions don’t do shit and that they don’t care for the adult demographic
TTG and Thundercats Roar are both terrible shows. The target audience may be children but they are not stupid. Both shows insult everyone’s intelligence.
Can we all just acknowledge that there is LITERALLY A LINE OF DIALOGUE that says "poop mouths" and "poop opinions?" There has to be an underground child labor system going on in the U.S., because only a child would write something so... I don't even know how to describe it. If they were eloquent and verbose with it, then maybe it could've been funny, but this only makes them sound like raging toddlers who just learned how to type.
7:09 They admitted they are doing a show for babies, yet no parent I know lets their kid watch it. Anyone can sense just how trashy this show is. I really don't want kids to grow into those sad people who goes into the internet to say "You don't agree with me!? you're ugly, fat and stupid!" on a daily basis.
Okay now I actually wanna know who would win in a fight. 2011 Lion-o or Robin from the original TT cartoon? I also think TTG is only "liked" because that's all that is on, now this may be anecdotal but my nephew and neice both in the age range do not like TTG and would rather watch MLPFIM or anything else, usually on netflix. And since Thundercats Roar is even lower quality, I doubt they'd like it either. also....less and less people watch actual TV now and bad shows are one of the things driving them away. Now I dunno how to get stats for shows viewed on netflix, but just being online. The Dragon Prince appears to be enjoyed by a lot...heck even the latest seasons of She-ra are getting more love than TTG. And it isn't just the whiteknights that liked it to just annoy fans of the original.
I'm a huge fan of TTG and its one of the few reasons I still watch modern CN. TTG is incredibly funny. The older shows were better but there are some new good ones. Especially Unikitty and We Bear Bears.
@@espio329 Also there is always the cn app if you are sick of ttg. Only We Bear Bears, Unikitty and Gumball reruns are good anyway the rest of the shows are garbage.
@@espio329 I concider now the silver age of cartoons. The late 90's to early 2000's were much better especially on Nick and Cartoon Network. I listed all the good CN shows. Nick: Spongebob is as funny as ever and I love all the seasons. Loud House is very hit and miss. I think the old episodes are better. New Ninja Turtles is cute. The only Good shows on Disney are Big City Greens and the Mickey Mouse Shorts. Also Phineas and Ferb reruns and Gravity Falls reruns. Amphibia is ok. Its one of the laziest cartoons I have ever seen in my life but its so average I can't stop watching it.
With the ends of Adventure Time, Regular Show, The Amazing World of Gumball and Steven Universe finally ending, it looks like the new golden era is finally over and garbage like TTG and Thundercats Roar is going to bring Cartoon Network back into mediocrity like how it was in the late 2000s...At least Adult Swim is still pretty good.
I'm really confused. Who was supposed to come across as the biggest whiny manchildren in this episode: the fans portrayed in it, or the people who made it?
if cn continued the original tt series like the fans asked for along with ttg instead of just ttg, I don't think the latter would've been as critically received. edit: don't get me wrong, it will still be shit, but it'd be seen as goofy shorts instead of a terrible replacement for the original.
I agree on lot of the rage is due to no Season 6 however a continuation of original TT after all this time sounds great and all, but there's so much that can go wrong. Like just because they have the same VAs again doesn't mean they'll get all the writers, animators, etc that made it as good as it was. I have my problems with TTG but at least it is its own thing instead of an actual continuation that screws everything from the previous show up. I honestly would've been happy with just more of the DC Nation's New Teen Titans shorts, they were much more charming than TTG.
@@icecreamhero2375 true but depends on how much continuity the new writers respect and don't just toss out the window for whatever reason. There's been plenty of examples of old shows being revived later but just not being the same (in a bad way) for one reason or another.
@@kelpietales4503 And there are plenty examples of they staying good. Family Guy is still good. Spongebob is still good. I actually think later Jetsons is better.
Well, this reminds me why Cartoonnetwork is doing terribly. They use a show to defend another, when they are just cranking out shows based on humor children don't laugh at and memes. They barely make an effort to honor the actual depth of the original shows and content. Also, why is Teen Titans Go the only show I know of that has attacks its critics? And now it has attacked the critics of another show that dumps on the original. Cartoonnetwork loves this show, I mean they run the damn thing all fucking day last time I checked.
Why...on earth...do these people think its a good idea to attack the fans? Its bad enough when they do it on Twitter, but to make an ENTIRE EPISODE centered around the idea? Who thought it was a good idea to greenlight that?
the fact TTG continues to survive blows my mind, till I remember it's actually a failure that survived by choking the life out of the network by abusing the inherent behind the scenes problems plaguing CN. can you say "steven bomb?"
The only thing that makes me happy is that in the future no one will remember or care about TTG or TCR. When the kids grow up they’ll realize it was shit, like the adults now with Johnny Test, Hannah Montana or whatever shitty show they liked as a kid but cringe at as adults. Also the way TTG act like they don’t care about the fans while constantly shitting on fans of the original is very pathetic, it’s like when Taylor Swift says she so doesn’t care then writes songs about her ‘haters’. People would hate TTG a whole lot less if it stayed as a stupid show for stupid kids without the fans controversy, or here’s a thought make their stupid show not based on the original characters? But, oh right, shitty reboots were/are all the rage. I genuinely thought TTG was gonna be good (even PPG 2016 I know, I was stupid) because I love satire shows, after watching a couple of episodes I realized that it was a whole bunch of bright colors, fast movements, constant screaming, butt “jokes”, and saying a repetition of words in WACKY and ZANY ways. It’s funny when people *cough* children *cough* are asked why they like it it’s just “It’s funny” and that’s just it. But when those who hate the show *cough* people with standards *cough* they continue to ask why it’s not funny. To the adults watching TTG who thinks it’s funny... just watch Big Mouth instead, not advertising that show, it’s just less humiliating compared to TTG.
Have you noticed that Teen Titans Go now has had crossovers with all other crappy reboots? PowerPuff Girls Ben 10 in Crossover Nexus And now ThunderCats Roar
They reboot shows to cash on a existing fanbase, they totally discard what the original show was, and they're surprised by the backlash. Also this looks very bad, I just can't say for sure because I don't care enough to watch it.
Nice review! I think Thundercats Roar was just created to mock fans of the original and the 2011 reboot series. I'm just surprised Rankin Bass would approve of the disrespectful content they've made. I don't see anything enjoyable from Thundercats Roar at all even for those who aren't Thundercats fans.
Because the higher ups in the cartoon industry assume their audience has the combined intelligence of a wet hamster. Apparently they get their info on their child audiences from TH-cam algorithm data gleaned from toddlers.
On CN's end I think that they thought that kids would see Roar as a TTG copy and mindlessly watch. I'm hoping that they understood that Thundercat fans gave plenty of feedback that they hated Roar. Kids aren't dumb & they have so many options nowadays that they aren't bothering with Roar.
@Neil Brown All right, spreading hate isn't going to help everything. She-Ra might not be the greatest reboot ever and I'm aware of it's shortcomings, but it is nowhere as bad as TCR or the worst of TTG. Don't bash someone for liking something you don't. It's not like the original was perfect either. Both have flaws, but can still be enjoyed.
Serenity Joy oh please just because a kid likes roar that does not make them dumb kids just like adults have a lot of different opinions and sure their might be a kid that does hate roar but their is going to be another that actually likes it and like it or not that does not mean that the kid has quote on quote bad taste or is stupid also the whole point of that crossover was for Warner bros to show that they don’t give a fuck about what adults want because if they did then roar would’ve been a steven universe future type of bullshit
BB Gunz170 thank you when stuff like she ra try to be serious and full of story based arcs people hate it no wonder why people aren’t trying to make action cartoons anymore because of shit like this young justice has a third season and people are sleeping on it and don’t get me started on miraculous ladybug
the first DC nation short for the Teen Titans was about burping, and Raven getting grossed out by burps until she unleashes her own demon burp. it's the exact same lever of humor as Teen Titans Go
I don't like the original but Thudercats roar is a travesty. This is coming from a Teen Titans Go fan. The art is absolutely atrocious I tried to ignore the horendous art and give it a chance. I didn't grow up with thudercats and have no attachement to them and I hate this. This show has one major problem these characters are too darn *happy* all the time and they always get along. *No conflict= no humor* since humor is tragedy + time. The characters are so aloof to everything for example in the first episode they fly away from their home planet and they are all smiling Huh..........? There is no emotional range what so ever. Even in a comedy show the characters should take the situation very seriously even if it is ridiculous. Remember that episode of the Simpsons where Homer accidently caused a nuclear meltdown and he played eni miney mo to guess the right button. The whole town thought Homer was a hero but he felt very ugly inside because he knew he was a fraud. Would you ever see that kind of emotional depth in this show. Nope. Also the the humor is really bad there are no set ups, no punchlines, and no slapstick. Their idea of humor is running around screaming and funny faces.
@Tim McCarthy No its not. TTG doesn't make me want to puke when I look at it. The art is actually really good and not ugly. The writting is competent, actually tells jokes, it is saterical and has good absurdist comedy unlike Thundercats roar which thinks. We don't have to try we just have to draw goofy poses and off model faces.
@Tim McCarthy I like How TTG has bite and it tries to be creative with some of its plots. Roar is just really boring and the plots lack jokes. They try to rely heavily on visual comedy but they do it wrong. Nobody ever gets hurt and the characters are happy all the time. These people need to watch more Looney Tunes to learn how to do a slapstick cartoon properly. Nobody ever gets angry or pissed off.
What can you expect from a team that has such a low self esteem, that they had to do a collab with ttg and have a traced drawing of the original lion-o tell them their show is good, and everyone with a different opinion is wrong.
Cartoon Network using Teen Titans Go to mock older fans may have been funny and clever the first time they did it (For some people) but if it keeps goes on and on and on for dozens of episodes, it's just not funny anymore.

There is a rumor that it is due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
It's an under-handed tactic they use, so they point to this episode and say "Well, I don't have to make a point, look how _YOUR_ side acts."
The worst part about this is they had the nerve to desecrate Earle Hyman's most iconic role with the Panthro's Skeletal corpse. They claim it's from the comic, but if you ever read that particular issue, he's alive, so that's just a deflect.
TTG and TCR are both very mean spirited shows by mean spirited people done so badly out of spite.

TTG is it's own seperate thing the same way the comics are it's own seperate thing. Peoppe just need to move on. And this is from someone who hates the new thundercats
@@BabyGirlTiny
Because the shows are ripe for bashing.

“Thunder cats roar is a good show bc we say it is. Now explain in great detail why it isn’t” yeah amazing argument 😑
Thundercats roar is about as delightful as a case of the intestinal flu on the hottest day of the year..
POYO
I'm glad exists some youtubers like you, who watches such awful shows and spares us of such torture. Respect for M&J.

I was thinking that it was a roundabout way of calling Carwright a "Soyboy".
I think the “Vegan” thing is a stand in for “Cal-Arts”.
@@cartoonking1789 Possibly, but I question whether they thought that deeply.
SamtheBravesFan given how they plan their shows, they don’t
My personal favorite straw man argument they use, "It's not for you!" Well sorry, but when you reboot an established IP the fans are a package deal!
The difference in the shows' lineart really bugs me.

@@dragonempress8367 Why so nasty? The Guy just voiced his opinion.
He probablly still has some issues over that.
im more pissed it a show that horribly written animated has zero story and constanbly shites on the orginal fans and orginal show there stealing from

When I saw the first teaser trailer, it inspired me to draw out my own story board for a (hypothetical) Thundercats movie.

Let's Be Heroes!,
ThunderCats 2011, Young Justice (which I believe that and Titans were # 1 streaming ondemand).
Why did CN think this was going work?

Teen titans Go! was super fun for like 2 seconds, and then the farts get annoying and Robin gets ruined...
Have you noticed that Teen Titans Go now has had crossovers with all other crappy reboots?
PowerPuff Girls
Ben 10 in Crossover Nexus
And now ThunderCats Roar
It’s them trying to boost their bad shows
Between this and “Return of Slade”, I think it’s safe to say that the TTG staff can’t handle criticism.
They really can't.
She mentioned that they made 6 episodes like that
They reboot shows to cash on a existing fanbase, they totally discard what the original show was, and they're surprised by the backlash.
How the mighty have fallen.
This show is still running?!
Yup
I'm glad someone else remembered those DC Nation Teen Titans shorts
I've never seen such petty, sensitive and thin-skinned show creators.
14:00 LIES! I loved 2011 Thundercats and I'm still upset that it got cancelled after the first season.
One thing that makes the 80s Lion-O cameo easier is the fact his VA plays Jaga on TCR.
I watched Thundercats as a kid, if kids are smarter than we give them credit for, then why are we feeding them garbage?
Because the higher ups in the cartoon industry assume their audience has the combined intelligence of a wet hamster.
Apparently they get their info on their child audiences from TH-cam algorithm data gleaned from toddlers.
Oh the TTG writers definitely don't care.
“I hope Lion-o’s voice actor was payed well to say that.”
I hope he wasn’t.
@Neil Brown The original is campy and stupid so it is fitting that the reboot is campy and stupid.
@@bbgunz1705 Pretty sure liking the new She-Ra is a sign of brain damage but...okay, man.
I care about the 2011 Thundercats reboot. That is the true reboot of the original series. NOT Thundercats Roar.
the first DC nation short for the Teen Titans was about burping, and Raven getting grossed out by burps until she unleashes her own demon burp. it's the exact same lever of humor as Teen Titans Go
and for some reason it was still more charming than ttg
OH SWEET IRONY!
One thing you can always count on Teen Titans Go is them blaming the fans for not liking their shows.
Couldn't agree more👍
@Tim McCarthy No its not.
@Tim McCarthy At lot of the jokes on TTG are pretty clever remember the episode where they became villians for a day. That was hysterical.
@Tim McCarthy Oh you mean the boys vs. girls epsiode with the cootie catcher. They never made fun of Trans people on TTG.
It was never funny to begin with
