DISCLAIMER: I do not outwardly hate Teen Titans Go. I've been neutral on the whole thing for years now. I only bring it up now because they encroached on my turf in regards to Loonatics, ESPECIALLY after I just finished a lengthy video project about the show's first season. This is not a rant about Teen Titans Go, this is just me venting about how Loonatics is overhated and Warner Bros needs to stop slinging mud at it.
@@gokaiorange9576 It good for a laugh. But I just got tired of very quick. Some the characters that show teen titan go. I wish they show up on teen titan.
I'm not even a Loonatics Unleashed fan but gotta say it's pretty ironic (and above all hypocritical) when you realize TTG is technically in the same damn boat as the show they're mocking lol Loonatics Unleashed took a beloved comedy series and turned it into an action show that nobody asked for. Meanwhile TTG took a beloved action show and turned it into a comedy series that nobody asked for. The only difference between these situations is Warner Bros cancelled the least embarrassing of the two yet went out of their way to continue the one that actually warranted shame.
@@Pipeloluwa-z7x Honestly I get the feeling that's probably what pisses WB off the most about all of this. The thing they've been treating as their biggest failure actually managed to earn a niche fandom over the years, whereas the thing they've been cramming down everyone's throat is still widely hated X'D
You wanna know whats funny? WB hates Loonatics for being an edgy superhero remake of a safe slapstick cartoon. But just adores TTG because its a safe slapstick remake of an edgy superhero cartoon. Talk about hypocrisy.
Imagine in an alternate universe where loonatics unleashed would be the show running for 10 years while ttg was the one that got cancelled after 2 seasons. I would honestly love to live in that timeline rather than the one we are currently in..
Absolutely mess of timeline that would be, can't think of ttg robin the goat not existing after season 2 ..... Before declaring himself better than tt robin...
Actually if it Got cut by season 2 then , the plot of ending would be Titans would be separate for real now because of robin doomed the team wait oh well they're back... Haha unlimited adventure of ttg exploits nice ending imo
I'd love to live in an alternate universe where 'Swat Kats' ran for 5 seasons, 'Teen Titans' gets A 6th season, 'Megas XLR' ran for 6 seasons, 'Powerpuff Girls 2016' never happened, 'Thundercats Roar' never happened, 'Velma' never happened, and new 'Looney Tunes' shorts would be shown in theaters.
@@shawnwarrynn8609 At least that's just the same series making fun of itself. And the same fans of the series. And the same writer sometimes. This is a franchise making fun of another completely unrelated franchise.
Honestly I think the flash Loonatics parodies where the most mockery the show needed, it doesn't need to be a joke years later after everyone forgot about it
Warner Bros.: "We're gonna have the Teen Titans crossover with the Loonatics Unleashed." (Episode has the Loonatics die from a meteor) That's not a crossover, that's you throwing a meteor at something that not many people would know about.
Weather you like Loonatics Unleashed or not, I think most of us are getting sick of the constant 'Loonatics sucks' jokes WB and certain Looney Tunes fans have been repeating over and over for almost 2 decades now. If I'm to be honest having watched the show fully, I don't think Loonatics Unleashed is the worst thing to happen to the brand (I'd argue A New Legacy is cause at least Loonatics actually has a soul and effort put into it) and it's nowhere near the worst WB show. I've always found it pretty hypocritical and unfair that WB seems to hate the show for being 'dark and edgy' (which it really wasn't) yet they greenlit Velma, a dark and edgy reboot of the Scooby Doo series that in my opinion treats it's respective series with WAY more disrespect and spitefulness then Loonatics Unleashed ever did I'm not saying that Loonatics Unleashed is an underrated masterpiece, the show still has a lot of flaws and even as someone who enjoys the show it's on the bit of the generic side and I wished they played with the concept more of them being decendents of Looney Tunes characters, but it's nowhere near as terrible as people make it out to be and at least it TRIED to do something different, while Teen Titan's go has repeated the same joke of "HAHA let's shit on this WB property for no reason" for over a decade now. I don't know why Sam Register has such a raw hatred for Loonatics in particular but it's like come on, the show ended near 20 years ago and your STILL treating it like it was the worst mistake WB has made with is FAR from the truth
@@alessandrobaggi6129 I don't personally mind him not having guns even if it is against the name since he's Elmer FUDD (look up the word "fudd") I am mostly disappointed that he didn't have much screentime or major roles. Still a banger show, a great way to reboot a classic!
in italian Danger Duck and Rev Runner are also voiced by the same person (Alessio De Filippis a.k.a. the immature assh*le who cried on instagram about the Looney Tunes the day the earth blew movie up due to the fact that the dubbing studio initially wanted Marco Mete and Massimiliano Alto reprising their roles as Daffy and Porky from the original Looney Tunes to the season 4 of Looney Tunes Cartoons and also the current voice of Daffy Duck, Lincon Loud and also Rigby from Regular Show)
This is literally "I'm like what you say fuck me for" The TTG showrunners legit went out of their way to make fun of a unproblematic old show for no reason
It's become more clear that WB hated Loonatics Unleashed more that the audience themselves. Especially the response I've seen online that say it wasn't that had of a show. Now compare that to TTG that's been running for almost a "decade" now and there's still more of a negative response from viewers who still bother to watch it.
I subbed, and I agree. The hate for Loonatics feels rather. . . *forced.* Heck, I wasn't even alive when it came out, and I grew up watching TMNT around 2012. Looking back at Loonatics now?... I think it deserves another chance. Thank You for humbling Warner Bros. about this BS hate, Gokai.
Or maybe that was Warner Bros plan to keep Loonatics Unleashed alive. It was considered mediocre when it first came out, not hated on though like Warner Bros has been making it. It was just "Eh", not 😡. It could be a gaslighting technique to make the new generation like it.
Reminder that when we first saw this premiere many years ago, it was very well being pushed as being the PERMANENT replacement for the original Looney Tunes, meant co completely erase the original Back then, it was straight-up cultural vandalism, as opposed to the seemingly harmless relic of an era that younger generations now see it as
@@majosmajos6822 Scrappy actually gets a lot of unnecessary hate. In fact, Scrappy was actually _QUITE_ popular for his time, and the "Scrappy hate" became a thing after the Live Action Scooby Doo Movie, which was notably produced by a guy who absolutely _HATED_ Scrappy for some reason.
@@jeremyriley1238 To be frank, a person can make something good if they like what they are making. The guy in question didn't like Scrappy, and started a smear campaign based around hating the character. Also, he was working under _Disney_ when Directing Guardians of the Galaxy... And Disney tends to dislike failures.
@@Victor-056a little earlier than that. Cartoon Network did have CN City short where you have various CN characters just straight up disrespecting Scrappy at the front door. With Scrappy getting more and more angrier with every dismissal from the CN crew.
Loonatics appeared in the wrong year, after all many complained about the series because it moved away from what Looney Tunes was before. But now that superheroes are more seen and popular, they can at least take advantage of the concept again and work on them better this time. But no, WB wants to feel smart by giving hate to those series and say: See? We hate our product, we're cool 🤪
Yeah, my belief is that Loonatics was a victim of when Warner Bros. was making too many spin-off ideas to try and capitalize on the characters while trying to introduce them to new characters (I mean, just look at Baby Looney Tunes, a spin-off worse than what people say Loonatics Unleashed was).
it would be cool if it was like Freakazoid, a action hero show that at times acts more like a parody of the Superhero genre while at other times it really does feel like an actual superhero show
People say the same of the modern Looney Tunes, they suburban lifestyle of the newer shows are non-Looney Tunes. Loonatics is slowly becoming whats called a Cult Classic which are shows the start gaining an audience long after they flopped. People are starting to enjoy the show because of the flaws that are joked about it. WB though is not aware its gaining a Cult following so they are still going with the jokes the audience made after the flop and before the rewatching.
I dont understand the hate for loonatics, honestly its an ok show with some problems here and there. If WB wants to mock a bad ip, they did , so why not make fun of the 2016 ppg or velma or Joker 2.
Maybe they want newer generations to get into it. Lots of old stuff gains new audiences later that love it (Persona, Arrested Development, Archer, Scott Pilgrim, etc.)
They actually did an episode with the 2016 PPG reboot (with the Titans making fun of the girls). Velma and Joker 2 I doubt they will do since TTG is aimed at kids, and Velma and the two Joker films are aimed at adult audiences.
@lupoalbertoxd I liked it too. My only qualm was how they didn't incorporate the type of physical comedy that Looney Tunes was known for. But I can understand it if either by executive decision or maybe on part of the writers who didn't want to incorporate such elements into the show.
It's like Ryan Reynolds constantly whining about starring in Green Lantern. Like yeah, the movie was BAD but that's not enough to drag out over the course of a DECADE Z
Now they can't use that bullshit "but it's been 10 years stop hating" excuse because it can be followed with "they'll stop hating when TTG stops hating on shows that are no longer in production FOR YEARS."
I've got to be the only person on planet earth who really liked this show. Especially The duck. His powers, his personality, really the best person in that show
Honestly I don't think Teen Titans Go was made for Any kind of audience except for Sam Register himself, at this point it's basically his own little wet dream & eventually one way or another when this series is finally cancelled, it will go down in history as the most Hated overly ran cartoon series in history, and serve as a warning on what Not to do with a beloved franchise(also like with the "Velma" series), no questions asked!
It's weird, because I've seen a few things from TTG that were actually kind of decent. The show had Ravager show up and that was kind of neat. So it's not like the show can't have good ideas. It just seems like for every one good idea the show has, it has to have seven that are really dumb.
Absolute worst take, people would be inspired to make such a show relive again in some other media imagine as a writer your show's hate or criticism turns itself into propaganda that lives in other minds rentless which got stretched benefited for this long having a featured movie in theaters, many crossovers and lot of remarkable moments occasionally
WB’s hate for Loonatics is like that one guy that laughs with you a little too hard at a mistake. It gets to a point where you’re like “are you…sure that you’re over it?”
I think the reason why fans love Loonatics Unleashed, I've never watched it but I do plan on to, is because it's a different take on the characters. What a lot of people don't understand is that everyone loves different. The fact that the classic, and new, Looney Tunes characters have become this new Superhero take is a different take on the characters and setting. But what we still want is for the characters to still be true to who they are without making them feel like they are a completely different person. It's why both Velma and Teen Titans Go are hated. While Velma is a different from the classic Scooby Doo characters, it's nowhere near to who the characters were and what the show was. The show feels like a completely different Scooby show with the character only sharing the name and clothing. And it tries to be very Feminist.
was Loonatics REALLY so hated that they feel compelled to mock it across multiple different shows long after most people had forgotten that it even existed? i didn't watch it myself (can't explain why, i was in pretty much the exact demographic for it at the time but it just wasn't on my radar otherwise) and so have no opinion on it one way or the other, but i remember ads from when it was an upcoming show. i really HAD forgotten that it was a thing until that Animaniacs remake took a shot at them and my only reaction was basically "...Oh, yeah, that was a thing, wasn't it? ...Why are they talking about it NOW, of all times?" oh, and Teen Titans Go is one of the worst shows on mainstream television right now and i will never be convinced otherwise.
I was mostly turning a blind eye to their crap but now I absolutely despise them for doing this episode, i ain't gonna obsess over it. But Loonatics Unleashed didn't deserve to be bashed like this.
The reason was due to the pilot (which was really a pitch considering there was no pilot episode and just concept art). This was established a few years before the initial show.
I dont know how TTG is not officially a dead horse yet with how much they fucking beat it. There was literally a time where 90% of the running on CN was TTG. I remember seeing it and thinking it was a marathon. I dont know how long that lasted, I do know it lasted months though.
“We need to talk about TT GO!” I assure you we don’t. In fact maybe if we stopped they’d let it die off and reboot/continue the actual good one we all enjoyed.
I never understood why Loonatics got so much hate in the first place. Okay, some of the attempts at being "cool" are cringe-inducing, but there were far far worse shows airing during that time both visually, tonally, animation wise, and sound wise too. What makes Loonatics so special that people are willing to dumpster all over it nearly 20 years later. It was very clearly a spin-off and not the future direction of where to take the series.
The animation had some flaws, the plotlines had flaws, there was convienent moments of lack of logic (Ex: Slam got frozen in Ice and took hours to defrost, yet gets frozen again and breaks out with his super strength), the comedy was sub-par and they did not really have a clear direction on what they were wanting to do. I feel the show could have done great but it was just not for that time period.
@@monster-mecha_enthusiast_2002 Ironic for I actually love the Loonatics Unleashed, just never got into the later episodes for I had a job at the time :|
Thank you so much for that speech! I was one of the folks who watched Loonatics when it first aired, and as someone who also watched Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go, a very similar show, I was able to enjoy Loonatics for what it was, and for the new ideas and approach to the Looney Tunes universe that it brought to the table. It always broke my heart that for so long it's been tainted by unwarranted prejudice from the general public, and having just now heard about how Warner's been treating it has only brought back that heartache. At least it's good to know there are more people out there who are, or have become, more willing to appreciate it!
Ironic. A spin-off from the 2010s of an action superhero dramedy from the 2000s that turned it into a silly comedy, is doing a commentary on an action superhero dramedy from the 2000s based on a silly comedy.
@ohhellwhereami2574 oh yeah. And Loonatics treats itself like a sequel. Forgot. Follow-up. They're both follow-ups that do the opposite genre of the original. That's the connection.
@kylemorello4787 no... Ttg got switch up real quick it's so apparently obvious, they don't follow up anything it's alternate dimension side story stuff from beginning nothing connects to teen Titans that had an ending already
That is true, with the biggest example of what NOT to do is that if fans of the original show complain, then make fun of them in an episode. If TTG really wanted to avoid fan hate, then they should have grown some spines and ignored the hate they were getting, as by making episodes like Slade and the various crossovers with characters like Freakazoid, Beetlejuice, and even Thundercats Roar, all they are doing is kicking the hornet's nest, and while it has been successful for them, there will come a time when it will come back to sting them.
"The Looney Tunes Show" was a quite different take on the Looney Tunes that was very well receive despite how different it was to the old cartoons. I think these strange and different takes on classic characters should be tried, even if they fail. Take risks! That's how you make art! I never saw Loonatics Unleashed, so I can't speak for the quality of the show itself, but it has a right to exist at the very least.
Loonatics Unleashed is pretty much What if the Looney Tunes Great Grandkids were Superheroes in Space. That said I think what causes harm in some cases is that Lexi's the only girl on the team. They should have had Petunia's descendant there too by going the JL/KND route of two girls on the team in addition to the 4 guys. We have Ace as Super-Bugs, Tech as Bat E. Coyote Rev as a Robin-Flash fusion Lexi as Wonder Wabbit combined with Brainiac 5 (literally a whole episode about it in season 2) Danger Duck as a super powered Jason Todd (given his attitude, Aquadense eggs, and contempt with everyone and the fact that he actually would do half the stuff Jason does if Ace and Lexi didn't keep him on a short leash...including quacking over to New Gotham and getting rid of Terry's landing gear) and Slam Taz as Flash with super strength. If Petunia's descendant had been included they could have gone the route of having a Hawkgirl-style member on the team to balance things out and since no other member wore blue accents, she could have had a blue costume and Petunia certainly has the attitude for it.
Here's the thing, the folks who made the Looney Toons reboot actually GAVE A DAMN about the source material. TTG OBVIOUSLY started as a tax write off and has basically become the only thing they produce outside of MORE Batman trash
This episode was garbage. It wasn't even a crossover. It was just taking the piss on Loonatics and it's fans for 11 minutes. The Loonatics don't do anything, don't speak, and get "killed off". The writers seem to have some inferiority complex with a perfectly fine 19 year old cartoon. This isn't the first time TTG took shots at it. And even the Animaniacs reboot and Looney Tunes Cartoons did too. Idk why Loonatics is such a punching bag. People only hate it because it's not the Looney Tunes they grew up with.
Ngl, speaking of "Looney Tunes", I bet it was the toxic fanbase of Looney Tunes that put TTG up to making that crossover episode, their hatred for Loonatics is somehow giving me the urge to declare war on that fanbase like how any Loonatics fan besides myself would lol.
I feel like Huggbees’s video on Loonatics opened up my eyes to how WB and the internet in general has beaten the “Loonatics was terrible” joke into the dirt.
Writers who claimed to themselves to be such huge college graduates, and here they're making a kids cartoon. Where they bring such insults to children's intelligence here. Seeing Teen Titans Go killing The Loonatics, is their way to get rid of the thorn in their side. WB's hate of it is downright despicable, and Sam Register is just being a complete dumb dumb of showing his hate for no reason.
It's weird that they would say "what not to do with a classic property" while they made terrible reboots of Thundercats, Scooby-Doo, Powerpuff Girls, Ben 10, and Teen Titans.
Considering how apparently Scrappy Doo was hated in an attempt to shill Elmyra, could it be argued that the same virtually happened here with Loonatics vs TTG?
@ Unfortunately, I don’t remember where exactly I heard about it, but I think it might’ve been in an interview with Charlie Adler or some of the staff involved with Tiny Toons. Wish I could remember where I heard it.
Honestly we can just agree and understand that Teen Titans Go really love meeting every WB Characters instead of just comedically doing their own things like from seasons 1 - 4 and defeating crimes and all but instead meeting celebrities and fiction characters. Plus they always ruined everything and being witty on other folks
As much as I still think that Loonatics was and always will be an insane idea for a premise, at least they were trying to be experimental. TTG has been nothing but WB's safety net for years now, Velma was pretending experimental but instead just spent its runtime complaining, and don't even get me started on the cancelations.
3:41 In this scene, the 2011 lion frustrated inside the cave is the feeling of the product, because a member of Teen Titan Go made Thunder Cat 2011 and is frustrated with the failure.
WB bashing on Loonatics honestly just comes across as petty and immature. A lot of people would have forgotten about it by now if not for their need to bring it up like this.
It's the new "Mock your own unsuccessful/embarassing products to make yourself seem more self-aware and humble than you actually are" strategy some media companies use. I know SEGA/Sonic Team were doing it with Sonic back in the 2010s after Boom fumbled the bag.
I want Loonatics Unleashed to come back to. Heck, I want to see the 2003 Teen Titans team up with the Loonatics and kind of want to see Ace go through the same thing Robin did when he became Slade's apprentice. Either Ace or Duck, I'd be fine with either turning evil. I just want a season 3
OMG! i wanna see both groups go through what raven did when she found out she could actually stop time which froze everything including her own friends!
@zombiekillo61704 I don't know if I'd trust WB animation to handle it though since they have really lost their touch. Maybe in the form of a comic adaptation bringing back some of the original writers.
7:43......That was the moment I straight up dropped my phone, mumbling to myself "She could've just been called Crow, which is SIMILAR to a Raven", and questioned my life choices.
Loonatics Unleashed may not have been the best show, but it at least tried to be something and didn't crap on what came before. Teen Titans Go is just a lame amalgamation of much better shows that was given way more life than it deserved
I feel like Shadow The Hedgehog shows that you can come back from being very edgy and become a good game series/character. So why can't the same be done for Loonatics Unleashed? I remember finding it fun when I saw it on Saturday mornings. It wouldn't be bad to give it another shot instead of them constantly dunking on it. I should mention that I don't fully remember the show as well due to seeing it so long ago, but I remember it being pretty decent and fun.
I love the show Loonatics Unleashed. That was a very cool and interesting spin-off compared to the other shows in this version of the Looney Tunes. It didn't have as much slapstick; it was more emotional, delving into deeper topics. It was kind of like a mature version of Tiny Toon Adventures.
Loonatics > TTG Teen Titans. Honestly this whole hate towards "Loonatics Unleashed" is just as toxic & annoying as the Sonic 06 hatedom. LU was not THE worst show on KidsWB's last foot, that "honor" goes to "Da Boom Crew." LU had lots of potential, it was handled really badly, like a lump of coal that didn't become a diamond no thanks to impatient greedy smelters. However, the other reason why it canceled was actually because the show didn't have any merchandise. Not even in kid's meal toy forms. They could've had merch if it wasn't for three words: "Bucky.O.Hare." Despite being a cult classic to some, "Bucky O'Hare" was so hated by toy makers that they actually made a rule to NEVER make toys that are "space rabbit superheroes" themed again, and unfortunately since both Ace and Lexi Bunny are technically space rabbit superheroes & their team was close to Bucky's team.....LU never got any merch & that lead it to it's early cancelation. That's why WB hates "Loonatics Unleashed" to this day.😓
I don't understand the hate for Lunatics Unleashed. I grew up watching the show every week when it was on the air, and too this day, I'm still a fan of the show and even bought copies of it to watch whenever I feel like seeing an episode. (I mean come on, it's Looney toon superheroes. The show is both funny and entertaining. Not to mention, the looney tunes characters are respected and true to their original roles in the first cartoons...)
The irony of Teen titans freaking go hating the loonatics for being an insult to the original product, let me phrase that again for being AN INSULT TO THE ORIGINAL PRODUCT, is so clear that i can't believe the writers were THIS BLIND to not notice how they are the exact same thing, the episode easily could have been abou that, but nope gotta make it a blatant hate fic.
They really know their product is an Insult to anything Teen Titans, they even made it a reoccurring joke, but they always need to double down on any show they think is or can be considered worse than TTG (like they did in The ThunderCatz' Crossover)
I will admit this episode and what I've seen of TTG has made me appreciate Loonatics Unleashed more. At least the Loonatics act their age and like heroes while this version of the TT are immature jerks.
Imagine being the ginormous disappointment people wish didn't even exist that Teen Titans Go!!! is and having the audacity to shit on something else...
calling it now, the makers of TTG are bribing the heads of CN and WB to let the show keep going, that is the only acceptable explanation as to why it hasn't died like it should've long ago, i feel like i was fighting off an aneurysm while watching this because I'm just DONE with ttg so completely
in my opinion, register is lording his opinion as a businessman not an artist +loonatics suffered from bad timing and mixed execution mostly the core ideas if well executed and were deployed in the early 2010's, it would have been a cash cow darling surpassing ttg just see the my hero academia mania of the 2010's +ttg on the other hand was able to succeed because it targeted shamelessly an untapped demographics (little kids) so register, in my opinion, built his sense of self esteem around the contempt of the loonatics unfortunate economic failure regardless of artistic merit futher compounded by the smashing success of the low brow kiddie show ttg tldr;i think that register is a proud scrooge who values raw profit over artistic potential and quality
Yeah... Teen Titans Go is too exhausting to watch, and it represents a sad reality about Warner Brothers... what is it, you ask?... I dunno, maybe the fact they're not the same anymore?.. if they can't be bothered to give a damn, then I can't either.
They are dying so what does it matter? CN days are numbered and this show will down in history as a cancer since nobody sane likes it. Meanwhile Lunatics will remain since it has fans and the show is actualy enjoyable. Quite frankly i doubt WB will remain because they have no idea how to handle their own properties or make new ones.
Honestly, I'm surprised there's even a hatedom or a fandom for the show. I was around when the show was coming on, I was indifferent but of course I was watching KidsWB for Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, Static Shock, etc. I thought it would've went down the forgotten path of Sylvester and Tweety's Mysteries. And the hate especially is POINTLESS, Looney Tunes characters can be adapted to almost any type of story. When the show came out, I think I was mentally like, "Oh, they're trying something different".
Honestly, it’s kind of impressive that Sam Register can hold a grudge against a cartoon for so many years. Did Loonatics Unleashed personally ruin his life or something? lol
10:42 I'm honestly shocked to see Tom Rugger of all people say THAT about Scrappy. You'd think he'd be right alongside everyone else in bashing scrappy, what with many of his biting satires in Animaniacs. Still, I'm glad and grateful to have his support in defending Scrappy.
Kind of glad to see more people are appreciating Loonatics Unleashed more. I mean, it's far from a perfect show. But it's fun, has some clever ideas, it could work.
What's funny is they actually look good in the Loonatics design. It's like the creators are trying so hard to ne someone's soapbox they accidentally put in more effort than they needed to. But not in the plot.
Fun fact, cartoon network did said something "positive" towards scrappy in a tweet back in may 20, posibly after people realizing he wasnt that bad and stuff.
@@Walid-mk4jo i could send it to you here, but youtube dosent like that, but also you can still find that tweet easly, in the cartoonetwork's page and media.
Teen Titans Go really does seem to have made shitting on others it's brand, hasn't it? Like.. Man.. The number of times they shit on the original Teen Titans (multiple episodes and even an entire movie dedicated to "showing us why Go is better") and other series is ridiculous.. And now going after other shows too? This really has gotten out of hand with how petty and immature it all is..
They've BEEN going after other shows, there was a crossover with Thundercats ROAR (yeah, remember THAT travesty?) where they shit on the much better remake, AND used the og Liono (apologies if I spelt that wrong, I'm not a huge TC fan) to call the fans (who were rightfully pissed about ANOTHER TTG clone) VERY IMMATURE NAMES!
@@otakudragonlover2563you forgot to mention that they actually mocked OG Pantro's voice actor's death by having the skeletons of him in the background of the ending bit of the episode
How dare they use Teen Titans Go of all shows to mock Loonatic Unleashed? Season 1 was amazing, season 2 a bit less but it still ahd good moments, it wasn't perfect but it was pretty good for the time but they should have sticked with the season 1 formula, and maybe make Lexi less of a hypocrite and stop brain blasting Duck for minor stuff when she got away with not even a slap on the wrist for causing a war with the Martians by the rest of the team sans Duck. Teen Titans Go should have died years ago, while Loonatics deserve a mighty comeback.
Loonatics Unleashed was a good show. It's just came out on the wrong time. But still my favorite series. And I even start to draw because of Loonatics. So, I don't understand, why on the hell people hating this show! And especially, I hate how WB hating this and thinking as some mistake. It's not a mistake! Teen Titans Go is a mistake! And Velma is a mistake! Just, stop hating on this show, WB! By the way, I hate the episode too. Loonatics could escape from the meteor. They aren't dumb. And probably (I'm not sure) Tech wouldn't die there. Cause you know, regeneration. I don't know, okay? Rev could've sense the meteor, Lexi could've heard the meteor. Even Ace, Duck and Slam could've sense it!
Ngl, I still think it was the horrible fanbase of the original Looney Tunes cartoon franchise that put Teen Titans Go up to making this episode happen. I speak for all of us Loonatics fans when we say... If it's a war those old Looney Tunes fans that hate Loonatics so much want?? then it's a war they'll get lol.
Here I thought that Thundercats Roar crossover was bad. I rather liked Loonatics Unleashed, I listen to its kickass season 1 theme on loop from time to time.
Warner needs to stop pretending we hate the same shit that was years ago and get with the fans literally Warner Brothers currently is the worst I do this thing similar to rare wear they’re all “like hey we know what you’re asking for, but that’s not what you want. So fuck you” and then proceeds to keep making the same junk or just ruin something literally I feel like everything they touch they just somehow managed to ruin Scooby Doo with Velma. the Minecraft movie, the new Batman show, suicide squad and practically so much more. What side is they don’t even do anything with the Cartoon Network IP is that they have especially the ones we care about including Ben 10 say what you all about Disney but at least they actually try to make good things without blatantly saying ha ha fuck you to your face. Although it doesn’t excuse the fact that Disney is pulling out junk still, at least we know there is a couple of examples like inside out 2 that shows that they actually try
That's basically what WB puts out now. Either it's shows with Deadpool humor, or it's so "adult" that it's inaccessible to children. Nothing in between like they used to.
Heck i hate that prick but i wouldnt go out of my way to make something cartoon or game or movie just to put all my hate and kill him unceremonias like that in a very forced way
@@DavidMartinez-ce3lp Not everything WB puts out nowadays is bad. Also, you're being sensitive about adult cartoons. Being inaccessible too children is not the problem with a lot of them.
@NewSonyWonderHappyMadisonFan might not be the worst thing ever, but that doesn't mean the content is worth my time or money. I'm being sensitive about WB's adult cartoons. Adult cartoons can be done well. You're right the problem is the crappy writing, and being inaccessible to children means another portion of the audience won't be checking it out. They used to be able to make cartoons that appealed to children and adults. That's why Batman: The animated series and The whole DCAU is held in such high regard. They didn't pander to one specific audience. They found a way to make it work for both.
@DavidMartinez-ce3lp "Adult" shows are quite often too inappropriate for children. Often with edgy humor and sex jokes. And also too immature with edgy humor and overplayed, unfunny sex jokes that will be too unfunny and immature for most adults to care. So, the same problem turns off most kids and most adults. They agree on something! Kids might watch it but most parents won't let them if they know they are seeing it. Also, the overplayed meta jokes. Also also, believing that awkward silence, crude and disrespectful jokes are funny, trauma is funny, shock humor is funny anymore, and putting in ince** to try and be funny. I liked Rick and Morty when it was funnier and was more focused on comedy and didn't take itself seriously most of the time. Plot focused stuff and serial storylines are fine, but, we just don't get the cool/funny sci-fi ones offs so much anymore. Now, it is basically all that bad adult cartoons are. And, no, this happened long before Justin Roiland was fired. I recognize some of the flaws there now were there in the beginning. But, 1. they were balanced out with other stuff, 2. they were less frequent and less in your face all the time with stuff like meta humor, 3. Didn't let the weirdest/creepiest part of the fanbase influence the shows writing, and 4. Didn't include ince** "jokes".
Ya know if they wanna mock Loonatics sure thats fine but using TTGO of all things as a platform to take shots at the show has gotta be some of the most tone deaf no self awareness shit ive seen in while and im not sure if they realize the irony in that or if not then they just don't care. TTGO to this day still gets way more hate then Loonatics ever did hell most people don't even remember Loonatics let alone care enough about it to hate it
I was there when Loonatics Unleashed was airing. I don't remember watching it then but I went out of my way to watch it because of the response this episode has garnered. I only watched three episodes and plan on making a video about it but from what I watched was a fairly harmless show with some rough edges.
As an LU fan who’s seen the cartoon back when it was airing at WB kids it just sucks and more annoyed that WB still wants to remind people how much of a “mistake” it was. Bruh I was a non-English speaker and even then I enjoyed it and it’s been a guilty pleasure to watch from time to time. Sure it’s not perfect and could use some work in the writing but it’s just fun show that kids can just enjoy, it’s is own thing just like how TLS was also its own thing. And no I didn’t knew this existed, that’s how out of touch I am with the existence of TTG (then again I peaced out of cable years ago now).
y'know, in a way, i'm glad this happened. after the Beetlejuice crossover was actually kinda good, i was almost considering giving them another chance. but this reminded me what i should've known all along: they'll never change.
Ok conspiracy theory time... The reason WB hates Loonatics is because it wasnt what they wanted to make. So instead of just letting it go, they wanted to be pettyw and immature....go figure
I just realized something, the whole reason Sam Register created this episode at all is because of YOU! YOU... and your retrospective. Think about it, This episode premiered not too long after you finished season 1 of your retrospective. Sam Register doesn't want ANYONE to remember Loonatics existence and tried taking down your retrospective videos in any way he could. When that failed, he decided to use his cash cow franchise to essentially make a anti-Loonatics propaganda episode involving the Loonatics dying from a meteorite while eating sandwiches, The Titans causally destroying Acmetropis, and Raven basically becomes... like you said, Sam's mouthpiece on how much he hated Loonatics and not wanting anyone to know it existence. In short, Sam Register created this episode specifically to torment you.
...look, I hate the TTG episode too, but I don't think that's how animation works -- animation of any kind takes a long-ass time to make, let alone in the amount of time it took for even the first episode of this retrospective to come out. And that's not even counting how the retrospective vids only get a couple hundred to a couple thousand views tops; why would WB's president care?
Considering the creators made "return of Slade" in response to fan criticism about the show being too different from the original, it wouldn't surprise me if this was the case
I feel a bit sorry for Loonatics Unleashed, I never really had the time to watch the show entirely but I always felt the idea would have been good if they put a bit more planning into it. If anything Loonatince Unleashed came out in 2005 its almost 2025, we are now 20 years into the 95 years until Public Domain, so 75 more years and people can make their own Loonatics Unleashed, seeing I doubt WB will try to even reboot it to prevent Public Domain.
I've noticed that recent episodes of TTG take "thing that was popular decades ago" and turns it into a episode. Freakazoid, Beetlejuice, this. I'm pretty sure there's some more, but they really have to be scraping the bottom of the barrel to just be 'haha, let's make fun of an old thing'.
DISCLAIMER: I do not outwardly hate Teen Titans Go. I've been neutral on the whole thing for years now. I only bring it up now because they encroached on my turf in regards to Loonatics, ESPECIALLY after I just finished a lengthy video project about the show's first season. I've always found it pretty hypocritical and unfair that WB seems to hate the show for being 'dark and edgy' (which it really wasn't) yet they greenlit Velma, a dark and edgy reboot of the Scooby Doo series that in my opinion treats it's respective series with WAY more disrespect and spitefulness then Loonatics Unleashed ever did
I'm not saying that Loonatics Unleashed is an underrated masterpiece, the show still has a lot of flaws and even as someone who enjoys the show it's on the bit of the generic side and I wished they played with the concept more of them being decendents of Looney Tunes characters, but it's nowhere near as terrible as people make it out to be and at least it TRIED to do something different, while Teen Titan's go has repeated the same joke of "HAHA let's shit on this WB property for no reason" for over a decade now. I don't know why Sam Register has such a raw hatred for Loonatics in particular but it's like come on, the show ended near 20 years ago and your STILL treating it like it was the worst mistake WB has made with is FAR from the truth

Loonatics appeared in the wrong year, after all many complained about the series because it moved away from what Looney Tunes was before.

It's weird, because I've seen a few things from TTG that were actually kind of decent. The show had Ravager show up and that was kind of neat. So it's not like the show can't have good ideas. It just seems like for every one good idea the show has, it has to have seven that are really dumb.

A truly underrated show
Never watched it but the art style is lit.
Teen Titans Go really serves as Sam Register’s soapbox. This episode of TTG shows why.
Just like Brian Griffin being Seth McFarlane's soapbox.

Coyote
Rev as a Robin-Flash fusion
Lexi as Wonder Wabbit combined with Brainiac 5 (literally a whole episode about it in season 2)
Danger Duck as a super powered Jason Todd (given his attitude, Aquadense eggs, and contempt with everyone and the fact that he actually would do half the stuff Jason does if Ace and Lexi didn't keep him on a short leash...including quacking over to New Gotham and getting rid of Terry's landing gear) and
Slam Taz as Flash with super strength.
If Petunia's descendant had been included they could have gone the route of having a Hawkgirl-style member on the team to balance things out and since no other member wore blue accents, she could have had a blue costume and Petunia certainly has the attitude for it.

@ Unfortunately, I don’t remember where exactly I heard about it, but I think it might’ve been in an interview with Charlie Adler or some of the staff involved with Tiny Toons. Wish I could remember where I heard it.
They REALLY went : "Who gonna stop me though?" with this one.
It's parody focused show now, heroing is gone long ago actually
@ohhellwhereami2574 yeah but they gotta stop or just do better..
It was still nothing but dumb baby humor made for people who think farting while twerking is funny.

At this point it’s time for Warner Brothers to be under new management.
WB bashing on Loonatics honestly just comes across as petty and immature. A lot of people would have forgotten about it by now if not for their need to bring it up like this.
Exactly, it would have faded into obscurity. And have a niche following at best
OMG! i wanna see both groups go through what raven did when she found out she could actually stop time which froze everything including her own friends!
i also want a season 3
Woah, that would be awesome!
@DavidMartinez-ce3lp Thanks
I don’t know man, I kinda like Pigeon. But I’d understand why crow would work better
Loonatics Unleashed may not have been the best show, but it at least tried to be something and didn't crap on what came before. Teen Titans Go is just a lame amalgamation of much better shows that was given way more life than it deserved
Loonatics unleashed was a damn good show, and it was definitely a better show than teen Titans go.
I should mention that I don't fully remember the show as well due to seeing it so long ago, but I remember it being pretty decent and fun.
just a reminder, TTG used a Make A Wish Kid as a Shield for Criticism, that's why I despise the ever living joy out of it
Honestly that's a low blow even for the creators.
They could've had merch if it wasn't for three words: "Bucky.O.Hare."
Despite being a cult classic to some, "Bucky O'Hare" was so hated by toy makers that they actually made a rule to NEVER make toys that are "space rabbit superheroes" themed again, and unfortunately since both Ace and Lexi Bunny are technically space rabbit superheroes & their team was close to Bucky's team.....LU never got any merch & that lead it to it's early cancelation.
That's why WB hates "Loonatics Unleashed" to this day.😓
I usually blame the original Looney Tunes franchise's fanbase because their hatred for Loonatics always takes everything from me lol.
Sonic 06 actually did suck, it just had a fuck toon of good potential. In fact some rando out there is modding it into a genuinely great game
Sonic 06 was a TOTAL shitshow, dude. You want a REAL example of fans unjustifiably shitting on a game, look no further than the Devil May Cry reboot.
Then there’s the thundercats roar crossover. Like what messages are you trying to send????
I will admit this episode and what I've seen of TTG has made me appreciate Loonatics Unleashed more. At least the Loonatics act their age and like heroes while this version of the TT are immature jerks.
You have One Job, David Zaslav. ONE JOB!
Stfu not true
I had to pause the video because I couldn't stop thinking, "They don't need to touch the meteor. Why are they touching the thing?"
Am I the only one who actually like Loonatics Unleashed? It was my favorite show.
No but I think I’m the only one (in this comment section at least) who likes TTG lol 😅
Same and I still like it.
It was incredibly gross for ttg to insult the 2011 Thundercats, making one of the main characters a dead skeleton, like a month after his VA died
IT'S BAD ENOUGH WITH THE 400TH EPISODE AROUND THE CORNER BUT THIS!? THIS!? THEY'VE GONE TOO FAR!
we sadly CAN'T EVEN cancel TTG they still gonna keep it alive and mock us.
@@whitegoku9918 When they get cancelled, they will be sent to the Cartoon Inferno!
in my opinion, register is lording his opinion as a businessman not an artist
+loonatics suffered from bad timing and mixed execution mostly
the core ideas if well executed and were deployed in the early 2010's, it would have been a cash cow darling surpassing ttg
just see the my hero academia mania of the 2010's
+ttg on the other hand was able to succeed because it targeted shamelessly an untapped demographics (little kids)
so register, in my opinion, built his sense of self esteem around the contempt of the loonatics unfortunate economic failure regardless of artistic merit
futher compounded by the smashing success of the low brow kiddie show ttg
tldr;i think that register is a proud scrooge who values raw profit over artistic potential and quality
Did Loonatics Unleashed personally ruin his life or something? lol
Even the character of Animaniacs, Tom Rugger likes Scrappy-Doo.
I think you meant creator, but yes.
Saberspark said we're too hard on Teen titans go, I say we're too hard on loonatics unleashed
We don't hate 'Teen Titans Go' enough.
Wow really?! Honestly scrappy deserved better..

Whoa, watch the spoilers there. He didn't even cover Season 2 yet.
@@PWPictures67 Sorry.
Should have died years ago? You mean during season 4 premiere
Yeah, I have to agree, as Season 2 tried to make the series on a more comedic path.
TTG needs to be cancelled and never, EVER come back.
Somebody who co-founded Breadwinners got another job in the animation industry afterwards? Astonishing. Well, actually no, that makes a lot of sense.
You do realize people that grew up on that show now defend that show right?
This show and this episode screams and meets the quality of what Deadpool said “what in the actual ass?”
At this point, Titans Go NEEEDS to die

TTGO to this day still gets way more hate then Loonatics ever did hell most people don't even remember Loonatics let alone care enough about it to hate it
I still stand by the reason TTG is popular is because they don’t air anything BUT this show on Cartoon Network.
It ain’t fair, after so MANY years. The Warner Bros are familiar with Loonatics Unleashed, & they hated it? That series deserves love!

@@timey_103 It's been 3 weeks since the Intermission by the time of this writing, well over a month!
