    He presents training in 7 days. Each of 7 items are commands that he believes a dog should know. They are presented in part ii of the book th-cam.com/users/postUgkxK8-VQWpYThx4IC6MiIvb6VS1ebTzzdxq . The parts of the guideare divided: part i know your dog part ii the seven commands part iii cures for 7 behavior problems. Each chapter presents a topic, a dog's story, and a "what to do". It was written simply and you can jump from chapter to chapter to review anything as needed.

      My dogs have been fed kibble and they are fine. They are happy and healthy. They are extremely active and run all the time in the backyard or walks. Whatever your dog thrives off of is fine. They still have some meat and eggs in thier diet ofc. They also get a little bit of wet food and plenty of treats with beef. It sounds like a lot but they don't get everything every day. Some things are every few days or once a week. All of the dogs ive had have lived full and happy lives.

    What’s incredibly sad is that vets are paid to recommend certain brands exclusively and most vet offices have a contract to do this. The perks and commissions are just like big pharma. And as I look at the ingredient list on the back it’s obvious!

      Literally untrue. I am a veterinary professional and not one company pays any of the clinics I have worked in. we recommend food with research behind it . You can feed a balanced raw diet, but the average dog owner doesn't and needs recommendations for a kibble with research behind it.

    • @jenmontzingo
      @jenmontzingo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Crazybouncycurls LOL. You run the books behind the scenes? The dog food companies have ways of hiding things. Read the ingredient lists on the majority of foods. Filler, by product, blah blah blah. I’m not talking about your prescription diet options for special needs dogs - that’s outside of what I know. Compare that to whole proteins and ingredient lists in food - and yes kibble - at independent pet food stores. I can think of 5-10 good brands off the top of my head.

      For a crate and playpen you can get them from a brand called Midwest which makes really good ones for a good price. For toys, buy some different kinds (hard toys for teething, soft toys for fetch and tug etc) and be on the lookout for online sales. Now for food, first thing’s first, you’re not going to find a good food for super cheap. Quality comes with a higher price tag. But there are still some good foods that aren’t super expensive. Some brands I like are Nutrisource and Fromm and if you’re on an even tighter budget, Victor or Diamond Naturals are good choices. You can find all this stuff on Petflow.com and everything but the Nutrisource and Fromm on Chewy.com. If you have any more questions just ask and I’ll help you. Hope this is helpful.

    Can you do a video going deeper into a training method of positive interruption? Basically where instead of saying no you say a fun word like 'cupcake' to get your dogs attention! Happy bday Bentley!

    Hey Rachel! Found your channel recently and literally helping so much with my dog so thanks a lot for that, I was wondering though do you have any videos on advice for chewing treats to give your dogs like nylabones, rawhinds, or yak chews? My dog can get pretty bored during the day so I was looking for some advice on treats like that to keep him busy. Thanks!

      You shouldn't feed your dog rawhide it's cow skin that's super processed. Rachel has a video on chew toys and products you shouldn't buy. th-cam.com/video/Ohyogw4IOuI/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/d2Bb50v6SOU/w-d-xo.html

      she said she does the training with the second half of the lunch, and I also do this with my dog. He gets too excited when he is hungry, he tries his best to do what I ask but he is shaking and jumping :D after he could eat he is more calm and I can give him the other half of the food during training. I hope this helps!

    True ! I feed my dog fresh too even though vet and pet store says kibbles I thought if I wouldn’t eat dry and food that is stored for months my Coco
    wouldn’t too. Love this video, though I’m first time dog mum I am so happy to know I’m on the right track…We are making memory and capture it in videos and photos. About pet insurance , I’m so glad I got pet insurance because my Coco got hit by a car but with God’s grace he is fine and I dont have to worry about cost , like what Rachel said we can focus on whats best for our beloved fir babies ❤️

      @@RachelFusaro ikr! In fact it was my 2nd late video before I went to bed 🤯🤯
      Also they were both really good advice but the handling advice was really useful among the others! (All the pets I've known, and tried to handle I kept failing at doing it "right" or so I thought I wasn't handling them right.
      because I didnt really know the way to handle a dog back then and so I avoided it a lot and the handling advice, "to handle alot' so that the pets don't get weirded out,
      made sense to why the pets (who weren't my own) was weirded out when I did it 🤣 now I know Its not that I'm not a good handler 🤣🤣🤧
      I'll be sure to try to handle my lil pup more often, ty

    Im getting a puppy really soon. Both my husband and I work from home. First couple of days we won't be working. However, we otherwise work 9-5pm. My question is, when we're not doing the hourly pee breaks, or when we're not training him at mealtime, what should we let him do? roam around? have him chill in the crate with the door open? should we move the crate into our home office so he's close? do we let him cuddle and nap on us?
