    Update on Ace - I have gotten him involved in playing some of the games th-cam.com/users/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU and I can see a difference in his confidence already! My other dog played along and he became intrigued - now its a daily part of our routine - about 3 times a day we do the shell game and the muffin tin game. I am so grateful for coming upon your training techniques!

    I would like to see this in action. Every single trainer out there sits and talks with a CALM puppy. I have never seen a video where they have a 9 week old puppy aka carpet shark coming at them during the video. Not saying this method doesn’t work but I’d like to see exactly how while the behavior you are speaking of is happening. Just sayin 😏

    Oh my god. I hadn't even gotten 5 minutes into watching the video when my adorable little landshark woke up and needed to go potty. I was able to redirect her attention every single time she tried to bite something in the house until she accepted her Benebone and got so obviously tired I just put her in her pen to sleep. Immediately subscribed, I can't wait to learn from all the videos. I know this isn't a new one, but it is already a gold mine. Thank you for making it.

    My first week with my little golden doodle started off terrible. He kept me and my husband up ALL night. Literally all night. I was searching for anything to make this stop. I’m a nurse and my husband works full time/grad school. She helped me SO much. I kept her videos on all day while I was “working with him” and he is literally almost potty trained. He knows what to do, and if he makes an accident it’s always in the same spot and it’s OUR fault that he doesn’t get outside. He goes to the door. He is almost potty trained. Also sorta likes his crate. I’ve had him just a week. Like thank god!!!

    Thank you SO MUCH for these videos. I hate to admit this but I got my first dog in college and had no idea what I was getting into. Thankfully she turned out amazing because she’s a crazy smart husky. 8 years later my husband and I knew we were ready for another puppy and I spent weeks studying these videos and we picked up our sweet 8 week old goldendoodle puppy last week and EVERYTHING you teach has worked for us!! I’m so happy I feel like I am making up for my past mistakes and teaching our new puppy from the very beginning 💚. He has had only 1 accident in 5 days, is getting better at naps in crate and sleeps soundly in the kennel between us taking him out every 3 (now he goes 4 hours!) he can even sit and is getting way better about not chewing on furniture etc just in this small amount of time using this method. Thank you so much for spending your time teaching!

    I was recently (one week ago today) gifted with a little puppy.. this first week has been BUSY to say the least. I’ve read books for years (I have wonderfully behaved ‘grand dogs’).. and one of the books has been especially helpful. But finding this channel and watching Rachel not just training, but EXPLAINING everything, including the why this, and the why that of all the poor behavior. For instance, I’ve learned raising my voice hinders the training of biting.
    And this puppy is determined! She seems to know what it means when I say ‘no bite’ or constantly sway her with one of her toys..it’s only been a week, so I have hope. 😂 Today, we pretty much conquered sitting on demand..it shows her that jumping at me will not get her a place on my lap, but sitting first and calming down, will. We both have quite a ways to go, but I see promise. Thank you Rachel for all the good information.

    My buddy has a dog that acts super crazy whenever all us guys meet in the garage for our weekly BS session. I sit down and cross my leg up over my other leg so she can't put her paws or body up in my lap and I completely ignore her until she calms down. Once she's calm I say her name, tell her she's good and pet her. This has been over a year of this ritual and now she never jumps on me or acts like a crazy dog when I enter. She has completely figured me out because she's smart. She's acting according to my behavior instead of hers. People need to resist the urge to reward initial anxiety with yelling and anxiety. Great video.

      I feel ya there lol. I have had my puppy for 10 days and the biting has gotten crazy!!! Can't touch her or play with her or go near her without her trying to bite everyone's arms, calves, ankles, feet, toes.. I've had the puppy blues because of it lol . But everyone says it gets better 😂

    thank you very much. 3:36 of this video was the proof that the marker key is most important. and after 8-10 days of 30 minutes or so redirecting, my dog is no longer a jumper or leg biter.

    Also another important thing I found is to ask them to do something before giving them the toy as you redirect like sit or something because I found my puppy just started biting my pants when he wanted to play. He still kinda does but he’s getting a little better😂

    Could you do a video on all things Health. How expensive vaccines are, what vaccines to get, and everything in between.

    • @lavenderwitch3502
      @lavenderwitch3502 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just got a puppy. He came with his official vaccine form listing what first round of vaccines he already got. There are low-income/c-snip sort of places that do vaccines and spay/neuter for cheaper. They often list the cost on their website. I also called my vet and just asked their prices. I agree that a video with all sorts of health info would be super useful!

    Who doesn't love puppy videos 😍...but I'd love to see some senior dog content, stuff you've had to change as Ben's aged, feeding, exercise etc. 😊 I have a 10 year old terrier and she's my first dog so would love some tips on how to transition from adult onto senior lifestyle. Love your videos so much! The boys are adorable ♥️

    • @lavenderwitch3502
      @lavenderwitch3502 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have a senior dog and I've been learning how to care for her differently. Things like taking shorter walks and adding some water to her kibble to soften it up. She's also losing her hearing and eyesight, so we have to come closer so she can see us and stop barking, and talk louder.

    I redirect my puppy with chew toys, rope, bone etc and it works. I like to interact with him and give him my attention. My husband likes to yell “yelp!” and it confuses our puppy but he does stop! We both have different techniques and they both work.

    Thank you for this video. I would love to know more about how much time we should be leaving our puppy alone for in their crate or playpen throughout the day so they don't develop a dependence on you. A video on routines for the first few weeks from when you get up in the morning to late at night that you find works best.

    I just want to say that this way of training works on general, there are situations where they are so much harder or stronger and in those cases, it's more severe

    Gosh I hope I saw this sooner! I just got my shih-poo puppy last week and he’s my first ever puppy. I watched vids but I still keep on spoiling him and that includes me enduring his bites and nips but I think he’s going way too far bc my hands/arms are literally so red from all of it. I’m troubled and will definitely try this tomorrow!^^
