      Thank you for the feedback. It is not too bad once the turbo is off the vehicle. This turbo had alot of slack in it and this kit really did the job. You have probably heard about the upgraded drain tubes for the turbo , you might slap one of those on there if it has not been upgraded yet. Best of luck on yours and thank you for watching

      s33therfan thanks for the added feedback, I didn’t know about the drain upgrade so I will be adding that to the list. Also, if you don’t mind me asking, why did you remove this turbo again after you already rebuilt it a month prior? Or did I miss that part of the video?

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did not do a rebuild the first time I cracked it open . I just went in and cleaned all the rust and vanes , and put some antiseize. I had actually got another turbo and was trying to decide which one was the best to rebuild. The kit worked out perfect though. Great question and thanks again.

    Be nice to see some detail on "how" you got the O ring on at the 18' mark. Every difficult thing in this - video stops while it's done then just starts again like it was nothing. I have the same kit and that O ring just won't seat. Used the bolts to hold it while stretching it around but the diameter is so thick it won't bite into the groove so still just pops off once it's not held

      Thank you for checking out the video . I sure doesn't hurt to know what you're getting into before starting a project. I will say it was cheaper rebuild kit but so far so good it's held up just fine , and it's for sure 100 percent better than it was before the rebuild . Thanks again

    As usual, you made it look easy! That baby is gonna purr like a kitten and pull like a monster now. Do a video on how it goes down the road when you get it back together. Thanks!

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Baxrok2 will do , I know I still have bugs to work out of it . One of my cac boots sprung a leak after getting the turbo on . About the way it goes you fix one weak link and another pops up ha . It's not been too bad definitely been a good project . Thank you again for watching and the support along the way.

      s33therfan When you post your videos do you put any tags in the box below the description? For example in this one you'd put stuff like, turbo, turbo rebuild, Ford turbo rebuild, etc,. If not you should as it might help get you more views. You deserve them!

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Baxrok2 I did not know that , thanks for the advice . I'm definitely going to start doing that from now on . Thanks again

    • @baxrok2.
      @baxrok2. 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, the tags, as they are called, are for people doing searches.
      So, if I'm searching for say, rebuilding a turbo, YT will look for those tags in different videos. It can be quite specific or very general. In my videos, I go to both extremes. For timing videos, I put in tags like, "timing" to keep things general and then get super specific and say "2005 Mazda 2.3L engine timing" and then I do just about everything in between since it's very easy and only takes a minute.
      In your case you might say stuff like, "turbo rebuild" and then get specific with "Ford 6.0L Powerstroke Turbo Rebuild" and then mix it up with stuff like "6.0L Powerstroke" "Powerstroke turbo" and so on. Hope this helps!

    I might put one of these on ford 4.9 bc I can get it for free but it needs bearing and seals. how would I lock the vgt? I would use an external wastegate

    Just curious, how has that rebuild kit help up? $30 for a rebuild kit seems like too good of a deal to last more than a year

    Before the rebuild what the the truck doing was it building boost up to almost 30 psi and not having power?

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Jon Melton Basically what had happened was once installing the engine in this truck I noticed the turbo propeller had slack end play. It wasn't until I ran into some other issues that I decided to go ahead with the rebuild . I had to remove the turbo anyway so it was a good time to do it. However I didn't run the truck long that way and I wouldn't recommend it for anyone else . Once it gets slack in the propeller or play it could come apart and ruin the turbo. Other than fixing the bearings and the slack I didn't notice much gain . I've however had more loss from leaking intercooler cac boots leaking and had to fix replace those . I will say the rebuild is very simple and most cases the kit I used is all you need unless there's some serious damage to propellers shafts in which case the cost of that most just replace the whole turbo. Hope this is helpful and thanks for watching and subcribing best of luck

    Did you have to re-balance it after the rebuild?

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I didn't , just put it back together and been driving it ever since. Like I'd told another person I have not been gentle on it by no means . I was sceptical myself about how the kit would hold up , but so far I would say it's been worth it. Only time will tell though. I'd had another turbo I thought about using but upon further inspection seen that it was worse pitted and scarred than this one so I decided on the rebuild . Hope you found the video helpful , please like and subscribe if it was . Thanks for watching
