  • Workout to the Bee Gees! This is a short 10 minute seated workout created for Bee Gees fans! This is a beginner to intermediate workout suitable for all ages but mostly with seniors in mind (since you are the ones who were around in the 70's when the great bands like the Bee Gees were getting all of you out on the dance floor!). The total step count is 1072 steps. Please keep in mind there will be ads in the video. When copyrighted music is used, I don't have any control over where ads can be placed in the video. To see workouts without ads, please choose one of my other workouts without popular music:)

    I have one leg in a big heavy boot to heal Achilles Tenenitis. I am unable to workout in my usual ways. This video is so wonderful because it has good music. I feel like I get a workout with this site. More Please.

A lot of people have also modified standing cardio workouts to seated so you could always try the popular music ones (if you prefer those), and modify the moves. Most of the moves will work:)

    I have elderly parent that absolutely loves the BeeGees. She has limited motion because of her hips, but tries to do all of your exercises. She’s so excited when I put on your video. Thank you for making a freely accessible video that seniors can enjoy.

      Yes it is so unbelievable how fast time passes quickly and easily can get out there and take advantage of my time now and I have been having constant conflict with my many issues going on in my brain cells and mobility has become very challenkm0ging as😂😢😢it's rough 😳 eating and making me feel like a very diffiwillculties and painful situation and deal within sooner we!

    Today i follow your sitting exercises. I'm 50 with osteoporosis but able to do all the exercises without putting pressure on my knees. Really good. Thanks

    Thanks Jules. I'm trying to do 30 minutes of cardio each day and sometimes I like to split it into 10 minute sessions 3 times a day. Ive been doing some of the 10 minute walking classes and adapting them to chair exercise. Now I don't have to.

    You had me at Bee Gees! I love that your do not yammer on. I do not need to be reminded that it burns because I would rather distract myself. With your workout I can just get into the music and movements and make it fun! I am not a senior quite yet. I am limited because I have a bone cyst and osteochondral lesions in both ankles. They are a risk of fractures so this means staying with low impact typs of excersize till I have surgery. I will probably do your workouts after surgery, during recovery too! I shared your link with my doctor so other patients can be " Staying Alive" too! Thanks for being amazing!

      @@ImprovedHealth , thank you; yes, I just can’t seem to get my knee back to normal. I guess I’m going to have to call the chiropractor this week and see what he can do to help. I’m hoping against hope that I don’t get sent to an orthopedic doctor--lol…trying to avoid that, but it’s discouraging that I’m still having so much trouble with it. In the meantime, I’m doing what I can.

    You are a blessing, the first thing when I get up is feed my niece's adopted cats, and scroll through the work outs .I like to change up on my routine, I had a hip accident thst was job related in 2019, and started getting therapy. I bought some of the items that therapist had me using when I had my sessions. by 2021 that's when I had my accident from a winter storm accident going to work. now I have to have a knee replacement . like that saying. what goes around, comes around. ❤ thanks for getting for everything ,you are a Jewel ❤😊.

    Oh my goodness! We love The Bee Gees workout! But……I have a whole new respect for those who need to do the sitting workouts all the time. You’d think it would be easier, (that was my worry) but I think it’s harder!
    It seems to take more energy and strength to do the leg movements from a sitting position. I’m pretty amazed.

      @@ImprovedHealth , we kept on working out, and one day I’d seem better, then the next I’d be hurting badly; yesterday was really bad, so that’s when we decided to do chair workouts for a while. I (my knee) feels so much better. We probably should have been doing these all along. I’m anxious to see what a couple of weeks of chair exercises will do for me.

    Wow Jules... What a workout!! I have peripheral neuropathy at 60, so I'm not so good at balance on my feet. Sadly I've had to be careful with my Tony Little Gazelle workout I used to love. But this type of exercise is helpful. I need to keep my body working... if you don't use it, you lose it. Love the BeeGees... great workout music to get you moving. Thank you for this... Looking forward to doing more. :-)

      @@ImprovedHealth Thank you Jules... I'm hoping this will be a habit I can form. I sure don't want to atrophy. I'd like to set some goals I can work towards so I can still lose some weight to feel better as I deal with my body decline. I look forward to trying several. In my 20s I went to the YWCA and did aerobics class. And when my children were young I took a step Reebok aerobics class... those were the days!! How long have you been doing this type of exercise?

      @@evonaustin9357 You will definitely gain strength and improved fitness with the beginner and intermediate workouts I have...deciding which ones to do all depends on your current fitness level. I've always been interested in exercise but more so after the age of 25. It's definitely a habit now and I miss it if I don't workout. I've been creating workouts on YT for two years now (started when the pandemic started since I knew gyms and community centers would be closed). I wanted to ensure people could still access workouts.

I have a new standing workout coming out tomorrow but it is totally doable seated as well (other than the deadlifts but if you can stand, you can hold onto the back of a chair). Otherwise, it can all be modified as a seated workout. I hope it might work for you.❤

    Hi Jules, thank you for this great workout, I used it as an add-on today for a little more cardio. My foot is much better, first pain-free morning today! I have come to love the seated workouts and will keep using them, I am a little nervous of going back to anything too 'jumpy', at least for a while. Love dancing along to the Bee Gees too 😊

    Really enjoying this one!! I work straight nightshift and I find that I’m sitting a lot more than I’d like to be on my nights off. (For the winter I did walking challenges paving through the house) This is way more fun!! I put one of these on in between my shows. Keeps me moving 😊

      Have u any idea which one of ur videos may be best for strengthening quads and core in prep for surgery.
      I can tell the BeeGees seated is good for cardio....due to feeling breathless at end.
      My core is v weak due to a prolapse which causes me to stoop....and trying to straighten up n improve my posture causes pain in my bad knee which is fairly flexible but difficult to straighten due to horrendously sharp pain.
      Operation been put back again (3rd time) until November.
      Would appreciate any guidance....keep the videos coming as they are really helping. I am 77 yrs young and an avid tennis player usually.....so not used to being immobile for this length of time.

    I'm disappointed to see you not following the beat because even if my seniors don't care, (and some actually would), I wouldn't be able to lead the class like that. My soul would hurt. How am I the only one seemingly bothered by that? If not for that, this would be so perfect! Ugh!

      Thanks for your feedback. When I create the no-talking videos it can be hard sometimes to line the music up perfectly with the video. I am working hard to improve on that. Thanks for pointing it out since it reminds me to be ultra careful during the editing process.

    It's funny, I work as a toddler assistant teacher for 3 years with a other toddler teacher
    and I bought a chipmunk cd back in 2016 , when the movie Chipmunk movie Chip wrack came out. and had the Bee Gees song staying Alive. They loved it. 😊

    well. I have to admit, the warm up is a little too fast. slow it down a little, but I been trying to find your exercise video till now. I been doing other work out. Question I bought a set of exercise bands and the long ones, do you have videos doing work outs with them?.😊

      I have a couple with resistance bands. When you're on my main channel page, put in 'resistance bands' in the search bar and they'll pop up.
      Just to help you navigate the channel, I create 3 levels of workouts (gentle, beginner and intermediate) in both seated and standing workouts, and categorize them all into the playlists. Just look for 'playlists' on the main page and scroll down to where you see the seated options. If you found this workout a bit too fast, the 'gentle level' workout playlists might be more of what you're looking for. I also started a second channel dedicated to chair workouts and will add the link for you here: youtube.com/@ImprovedHealthChairWorkouts
      I now upload all new seated workouts to the new channel.

    I am doing this version or the standing version every day. And I have sent it to friends and relatives who are joining me. It is Awesome! I do wonder how you got The Bee Gees without copyright bs. I do lots of yoga and wanted to use songs for videos. My fear is always copyrighting. Any advice?

      Hi! With copyrighted videos, I compile the music together and upload it into YT and ensure I put 'no' to monetize. I see what songs get blocked, take those out, and then compile the new playlist. I record the video, upload it and again say no to monetizing the video. Despite all of this, the songs sometimes get blocked months down the road. It is definitely quite the process!

      I'll keep that in mind for future workouts. I did think that part way through but felt I had to include the 70's moves or it wouldn't be so much of a 70's workout. Maybe when I do the move that bothers your shoulders, bring your arms forward instead or do a bicep curl. That way you can still enjoy the workout and the music:)

    When my doctor said for me to do some frome of exercise because I'm going to have knee surgery real soon, and the first exercise video I saw was yours. I been watching other ones . one video I like but and she's good ,but she's talks too much, and other one with women of color that plays rap music is Stright out boring. and one that I really love he's a therapist and plays Chris Brown, Gospel, Beyonce. Bruno Mars, Motown. Hispanic music. Michael Jackson. Question do you use standing exercises with some of your work outs..since I started doing this my weight is under control, I'm eating healthy and my blood pressure and cholesterol is down from my doctors advice. and my. sister bought me a air fryer for my birthday last year in December. and I use it all the time, and ordered a set of air fryer essories and cook books from Amazon a while back. Thanks so much. I'm staying Alive!!😊

If you can do standing workouts, I'd suggest starting with the 'gentle level' playlists and choose a variety of workouts there. I also have a calendar on my website for gentle workouts so you can click on a different one each day (www.improvedhealthforseniors.com). Just head to the tab at the top called 'workout calendars'. I also have some combo seated/standing workouts on my other channel which you might find helpful when you want to do some standing/some seated exercises. I'll add the link.       I'll take a look at this one and consider re-doing it. I was on beat, but sometimes during the editing process I have a hard time putting the music perfectly to the video and moves. I've had to learn a lot with editing and have improved over time. I appreciate your feedback so I can improve.

      I create 3 levels, gentle, beginner and intermediate. You can find the gentle seated exercises in the playlists and on my website. There are a lot of seniors out there who are incredibly fit and I actually had to up the pace for some of them. In terms of the beat, I had a tough time matching the music in the editing process. I've improved since doing this one. Sorry about that.
