    Ónly reason they do that unassign without completion rate being effected is because in states like CA with pay adjustment the person won't get any active time adjusted for that pay . Also only time that white thing pops up is when Doordash knows from the merchant order is actually complete . I know this because everytime that white screen pops up if u ask the merchant order will be ready . So by then doing that they don't have to pay prop 22 adjustment and the next dasher will have a ready order . If your in a prop 22 state you might as well just wait

    I am a brand new dasher. Literally 6 days in. I had a situation tonight where I had 3 orders stacked . The secondary order was dragging roughly 15m out. What this means to me (after 35yrs in the business of F&B) is FOOD IS DYING IN THE WINDOW! Now, as the proximity of the secondary delivery warranted dropping the first order and having to come back to complete the second, I figured it was worth the effort. Doesn’t change the fact I had to make 2 trips, out and back, to satisfy the customers need on what could have been done in a single run. This game is a timed event. How do we ultimately hold the restaurants accountable to these exorbitant delays?

      I’m about seven or eight days as a new Dasher my problem is is that I don’t get any offers at all none! I have a 97% completion rate around 36 to 37dashes. The first two days were Slammin and I took every offer I got. Now I don’t get any and if I do get an offer it’s like nine to $12 and it takes me 5-7 miles outside of my zone in traffic, doesn’t pay my gas to get back. I’m literally paying DoorDash gas to deliver their orders.

    My acceptance rate literally doesn’t move unless I decline an order. I can accept 5-10 straight orders with no movement up a %. But Let me decline 1 order and i immediately go down a %. smh malarky

      They told me I unassigned 4 orders on the last day of the month that not only did I not, but one I didn't even have at all. So guess who's rates dropped just long enough to not keep TD? It's pretty sick.

    The unassign without penalty doesn't apply across the board.
    Note that this applies more to stacked orders.
    You will not find this option to restaurants that don't allow stacked orders (chick fil a)

    Worry free unassign is pretty much a scam. It only pops up on higher pay orders. If you accept a lower paying order (or accept a batch that includes a low pay order) it WILL NOT offer you a penalty free unassign

    New Sub. I got a policy violation my second week. I had a delivery to an address and delivered it to the customer at 101 park street. 10 minutes later my customer calls asking where the food was left. I stated I left the food with you. Come to find out there is 2 addresses on the same street as 101 park street. How was I to know this? I left food where the gps in DoorDash took me. No photo because I marked left with individual. Nc

    Sooooo lol. Doordash gives us a pick up time ten minutes sooner than the store so this isn't true. I had a subway pick up, latest pick up 3:33pm. I waited and waited watching them make six other orders. Asked about mine and they told me mine was coming up as the pick up time was 3:43. Another way to screw us. Surprised? Nope.

    If you place an order because order was not at store. Make sure to keep receipt. Placed a 26 $ order at kfc. Forgot receipt and doordash would not reimburse the 26$

    Nice tip! I knew about the penalty free unassigns when you have to wait long, but didn't know you could unassign penalty free for some of the other options like the order already being taken without calling support. I know I've been using the long wait time unassigns for the occasional no tip orders that unfortunately get stacked with good orders when the wait time is long and it's so much more convenient.

      @@DoordashDiaries Look for my comment in main comment section, about how to unassing after 10 mins with no penalties via chat support. No risk of deactivation using the method I use.
      Surprised you did not know about it Bentley, its been around for yrs.
      You should take this video down so as not to get people deactivated using method you explained, to risky.

    We need a way of contacting IT, and higher up support. Ive had situations that have definitely warranted this. Im very courteous to everyone, but will call out a support person thats rude..the thing thats getting me right now is i am not getting real pay for distance, especially if they stack. Thats just wrong. I originally had an order for 12.75 for about 10mi,give or take,out of zone twice, shop, and then they added a crumbl cookie special that i got 2.25 for and was in same area, and a split LG order. So they took what i should have been paid for that drive and this happened again on out of zone delivery...and the other thing is these new group orders..it's taking away catering pay

    Communicating with the customer is the key that's the most important thing once you communicate with them if the order is going to be late you don't get penalized in most cases but the customer knows what's going on and that is your reference right there.

      Not as much as it could hurt you if deactivated. Look for my name in main chat and and see I posted another way to unassign without penalty and will not get you in trouble/deactivated.

    Where I dash at, a lot of dasher refuse sonic orders, I went twice my first week and both times spent 20 minutes waiting, and so I started saying no to sonic orders, but in last few days, the sonic has picked up the pace, only wait for 2 or 3 minutes now instead of 20, wonder if doordash said something to the sonic here? Would they say something?

    Thanks for the timer info. I am hit that timer as soon as i get there. I had a few times where someone else got the order but dd was still asking me to deliver it. A few restaurants say its ready and it don't be. I was mad at this one worker because they knew i was waiting on order. She sat it down and didn't give it to me. I unassigned so quickly.😂

    My number 1complaint about DoorDash is I've been dashing for a few years (Top Dasher) etc... There's always been times where I've wanted to speak to a higher up at DoorDash for several different reasons but it's literally impossible 😡 You either get someone in another country who couldn't care less about your problems or nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions for me???

    For catering orders that go left.....I always call premium support. Because if you show up and the order has already gone out, and the restaurant won't remake it...the half-pay is usually pretty nice.

    That’s not the case for me I don’t get any offers, 5-8 hours dashing! I can wait in the hotspot in a pink zone, travel from hotspot hotspot, and if I do get an offer it’ll take me 7-8 miles outside of my zone and then I don’t get an order to come back. Than I get no further offers whatsoever so I don’t even pay for my gas for my time.

    Check your CR before AND after you unassign when they offer it for a long wait. When it first started in my area, it absolutely reduced the CR. I was so mad. Calling support did nothing. I was afraid to unassign when they offered because it seemed like a lie. Maybe I'll try it again.

      I never even thought about this. They told me I unassigned 36 and have an 89% completion and should have a 95%. Guarantee they are counting the ones they offer you to unassign.

    I havent't done it, but I have read that other dashers unassigned worry free, but got their completion rate dinged anyway.

    My completion rate is 100% Completion is NOT the problem. Acceptance is, anything under $7 is NOT worth the wear on my vehicle!
    I am usually sent OUT of my chosen area on at least a 20 mile RT...it then wants me to TAKE orders from a different territory... essentially causing me to TAKE another's job, which I'd rather not do, so I let those jobs pass and go back to MY territory. My acceptance falls, due to not taking jobs in someone else's turf!

    Hey have you noticed any bad changes in the past 5 days I'm in Texas and for the past 5 days they are no longer even giving $2.25 for the low orders they're straight $2 now, and since the last update I have barely gotten any decent orders, it seems as something bad has happened

      This exact thing happened in my area of Michigan almost a year ago. I had to quit because I wasn't making money anymore. Got a job paying the same wage as McDonald's in this area and I'm making much more 😂

    I noticed doing dashing certain restaurant, Latinos, and blacks. Lotta individuals can’t read and I don’t know why they keep trying to jump in front of me and tell me to confirm the order when I document my pick up now it’s a feature in the app where you can take pictures of the item prior to put them in your DoorDash bag let the customer know that your items are secure, then that way that cuts down on customers saying that the order has been tamper with or damage the restaurant the fall back and let the driver do the thing and stop trying to worry if we’re delivering in the night and have the food ready that’s the problem but they have slowed down a lot telling drivers. The order is still a couple ignorant individuals out there, but we’re gonna get this dealt with

    Yes, that ready time is of importance to see when doing DD or Uber blah blah. It will help you in many ways. If I get an order that has 2 runs. Say both next door to 1 another and both are fairly close to the store (not in rush hour of course), I jump tasks. I have delivered one of the two orders before the other would even be ready. Of course I would go in to inquire with Merchant if ready and if not, how long I still have for the pickup scheduled approx time. If I have time, I haul ass on the order that was ready. That way when I click delivered, it can again put me back into the system to get another order assigned to me while in route for that other delayed one. Although at times I e been given 3 orders. I enjoy those when at same merchant for pickup. ❤

      I can't go to a location to start dashing in I never get a order they only give me over in other areas I have all my credentials to access Ft Bragg but I never get those others.

    My rating screen turned black and white, I don't know what that means. But I think it was because I was accepting all orders and would unassigned them after accepting in order to increase my acceptance rate but it would affect my completion rate- which was going to get reset anyways so I didn't mind

      You can't because it's a glitch in the app. The restaurant tells you they already gave the order to someone else. Or, the previous dasher took the order then unassigned it so they could get a free meal.

    Is it 10 minutes from click arrived at store or pick up time, most the time even the support people don’t know it’s supposed to be penalty free past 10 minutes and will likely still affect your completion rate, he fails to mention you can only finesse this through very specific set of instructions

      No. I was very specific about when you could use it for time and all the other options have no time delay at all. If you contact support they are trained to tell you it’s going to impact you CR. You shouldn’t need them but a simple explanation of the situation will get the job done

      Do not do it and risk deactivation. Look for my post in main comment section on how to unassign after 10 mins with without penalties and no risk of deactivation. Option has been around for years, just most new dashers don't know about it.

      Your choice. You get 1 cancel for each 10 I believe when you do the pay by hour. You get paid for waiting but the pay by hour contains less tips or 0 tip orders. It is all your decision and based on your situation.

    I don't think new drivers should join. It's changed so much just even in the last year. They are better off getting a job or selling thier own food for profit. 😆 🤣
    It's not wat it used too. Less orders. Not as busy as it used to through the day from waking up to going to bed. Little to no peak pay. It's just not worth it to for new drivers. Exiting drivers is one thing and even that is getting stale. But the less orders the less drivers actually needed for it to he profitable for an individual.
    I say no to new drivers.

      @DoordashDiaries I am top dashsher in the capital of CA. That's all I can say. And the earnings and work volume have changed dramatically. A lot of drivers not enough orders. I don't think we need more dashers. That's not a solution for anyone. And not lucrative for the new dashers. Just being up front save themselves, time gas money. Even is who are consistent ol tomers are feeling the difference. If the question is, is doordash worth it for new commers.... no.

    if it is close to the 10 minute mark and almost ready, i usually stick with it around my area, way too many ...people,persons, or Idiots that think a 3 or 4 star is great so i like the ....you cant under 5 star me.....just my opinion
