Areas getting saturated and not really allowing me to get a schedule anymore, even though my numbers are high, I really don’t think that matters anymore for DD
I wish someone could have told me that you need a us bank account to use cash out! It’s irritating sometimes to have to wait until every Monday! Some of you are not reading what the hell I am trying to say! It won’t allow you to Cash out with any prepaid bank card!
Easiest money I've made tbh, $300 in 15hrs. I'm basically getting paid $20hr for just driving around and vibing to music lol should've been doing this a long time ago
Yes lol I have to make myself rest and when I'm resting at home I'm thinking about how much money I'm losing 😭😭😭 I had to develop a balance because this is my pt so I would be exhausted on my ft because I would always be out enjoying the dd thrill 🤣 then I find myself wanting to turn it on when I'm omw home from my ft lmbo
This driver that delivered to a hotel I was at for a business training had a heated cooler. I ordered the food an hour ago, there was delays And a whole bunch of other things, that food arrived hot. He said “sorry about the delay I kept it hot for you “ Food order was 27 bucks. I left that man a $20 tip.
I’ve been dashing here in Michigan and it has been in the single digits when I do deliveries at night. Even though I’ve been using my super nice insulated food bag, I still don’t feel that it’s doing a great job and was wondering if something like this existed (electrical/heated bag). I also took a double (stacked) order tonight, and I know that by the time I got to the 2nd customer their food was not as hot as it should have been. I’m off to check Amazon now for some sort of heated bag!
@@dmcfadden3234 I’m usually there to receive the food so I rarely tip on the app. It was such an ordeal and I was already expecting cold food so when it arrived and it was literally hot, He got cash. Besides having worked in the food Service industry, CASH IS KING! They can use it immediately and don’t have to report it.
I understand declining small dashes, I worked a $3 dash with no tip (annoying). BUT! A couple times I've received a huge tip from small orders. Today I got a $4 order and received a $20 surprise tip because everyone kept passing on their order.
@@OfficialJamesGardner They add 25 cents to the base pay each time an order is declined. So if the base pay is more than $3 that’s how you know how many people declined it.
Worthy tips! I am 67 … I dash with my husband (yes I have a chauffeur) we are both retired and this has brought us some good extra cash to supplement our social security retirement & pension. I didn’t want to be retired and not afford to do much. DoorDash has definitely paid off and we enjoy each other’s company.. it’s a win win!
Tried to add on a order and offered me 2.00$ l just acted like l didnt even see it and then they may send 2.00$ order and l will not accept l mean what cheap bastard think he getting a two dollar delivery shid not me l know DD ls cheating people out of their money dam shame.
If you’re just starting out - a $3 or $4 run means they didn’t tip your ass. DONT accept those orders. The reason they get away with being that cheap is because there’s drivers accepting them. Stop doing it.
Depends on the distance. Yesterday I delivered a $4 order . It was a very short distance and I realized that base pay was 2 and the customer tipped 2. If it's a long distance, they surely didn't tip
if its not long distance ain nothin wrong with takin no tip orders. they add up. if the base pay is high that means doordash sent the order to a couple other dashers but they declined cause of no tip so they kept adding money to it until somebody axcpets i think
Tips from a dasher: 1. Do not drive more than 8+ miles for a order, gas prices are high save money! 2. In order to dash anytime for as long as you want, you MUST meet the following requirements: a. 70+% acceptance rate b. 90+% delivery rate c. 4.7+ customer rate d. 200+ overall deliveries 3. Para app is ur best friend 4. Be ready to encounter areas with no reception/WiFi 5. You Do Not need a pizza bag, just use your original grab bag for pizza orders 6. Make sure to STOP & EAT, this is crucial!
Another thing is which is contrary to what he said is, NEVER dash out of state! Driving out of state will have you spending more money because not only are doing your whole shift there, but you have to come back to your house. So instead paying only once for gas your paying twice in 1 day. However, if your someone who is on the borderline then you may only have to pay one. But if there is no dash on the other side of the borderline and you end having to drive to the middle of the state, then ur still stuck paying twice. This is also true for driving more 2 hours to a busy area, which is what I am referring to this whole time. Hopefully there’s busy zones only 45 mins away from you.
Bentley! You literally just delivered my Chipotle! You told me to youtube about door dash as I just quit my job. Sub'd and considering doordashing while in transition! Thanks for the tip!
@@mrs.hatfield1451 how many hours a week do you work? Are you supporting the family by yourself or is you significant other also a driver? I'm considering becoming a driver
"Do not limit yourself because of a fear of the unknown" I needed to hear that today. I'm not doing door dash, but I'm thinking about it. I'm a person that always wants to know what's gonna happen, I need to be able to anticipate stuff, so not knowing exactly how this is gonna go is holding me back.
Ugh I so feel this!! As a person who was already an introvert and now c19 has had me on full hermit mode and I already have anxiety driving unknown places 🙈 but I need a job and this beats retail. Hubby and I want to save money, trade in both cars for a fully electric (no worries on gas) and hopefully save quick cash for some land so we can build our first home and start a family. If I can get over my freaking fears I think I could crush it Watching these videos like a mad woman psyching myself up
It's SO addictive. I consistently make around $30 an hour doing UE. This is how I do it... I only take orders that pay me half of the time spent on the order. Basically, if the trip is 30 minutes, I need to make around $15. If it's 20 minutes, I need to make around $10, if it's 60 minutes I need to make around $30 for the trip. You get the drift. I've been sticking to my guns on this 90% of the time and been making AMAZING money. Good luck to all of yall!
It can be. It really just depends if you wanna actually make this something that you can actively live off of as a opposed to just gaining a little extra spending money.
I just started Doordash... I had to leave my full-time job because they keep underpaying me, not to mention have us cramb in the office, no social distancing. Thanks for the tips!!
Just quit domino's because they weren't working with my schedule, and in 2 hours I make the same as I would in 6hours off of tips on a bad night at domino's. I average 7 runs a night now, and end at $50 almost every time. Get to the restaurant 10mins before the pickup time (as its usually a general time). Its entertaining, and I don't have the stress of higher-ups screwing up my routes
My man, you are so on point about it being addictive! Does anyone else just sign in to see what orders you can get while you’re at home even if you’re not intending on dashing but then you end up taking an order because you can’t pass it up?! I do that at least every other day LOL
LOL oh yeah! Many times we get home by 9pm and I leave the Uber or DD app on. Sure enough around 9:30 or ten pm a good one at $2+ per mile rolls in. PJ’s come off, jeans on and I’m rolling.
I had an experience.. I picked up a $7.35 run and went to pick up the order I had to place the order and pay with the red card but before that I had to wait 25 mins when I got there cause chick filet had a line wrapped around the building TWICE!! and then as I got to the window i got a 5 dollar run from chick fila that i was gonna take too but was already running behind and I got there early..Bowling Kentucky is crazy right now..
Jt Brewer skip the line and go straight to the curb stop, when you see one of them walking, just call them. I don’t wait in chick fil la long ass lines lol
Tip: if you are dealing with rude customers(the ones that hassle you before you even get the order)especially those who don’t even tip CANCEL THE ORDER if you never touched the food you have every right to cancel what youve accepted. Don’t let people stress you out. This is YOUR BUSINESS at the end of the day. If they wanna treat you like you’re slow or a slave just start canceling 🤷🏾♀️ makes my day easier and stress free and actually makes me more money cause I’m not pissed off.
Plus from what I’ve heard and it makes sense. Those are the ones that end up giving you a shitty review for no reason or I don’t even tell you what their supposed reason is.
I was having that situation the other night, so I contacted DoorDash and I had to cancel the order. They punished me by dropping my acceptance rate! Even when I explained that the customer was being verbally, abusive and combative. They didn’t even care. It was a nightmare.
@@gurlfiend76 usually they’ll disregard it days late and leave it off your regard. Just in detail explain it to them one more time that way you have proof of the situation. They can look at those messages and determine from there. Hope this helps.
As a seasoned doordash driver, here is my personal top five. Number one, don't move for any less than $2 in a mile, doordash always gives you mileage driven and cost of the food, quick math, 1/2 on the dollar, and see if the mileage is under that. The reason why I say this, if you spend $60 in fuel, and it gets you 350 miles, and we will take 50 miles off unnecessary amount of idling, driving around, etc, you should make $600 off one tank of fuel that cost $60. Number two, don't accept loads under $6, even if the mileage is half the cost AKA $2 a mile times three miles is $6. The reason why I say this, is because you lose more time in an hour getting in and out of your vehicle, waiting for the restaurant, and waiting for the customer then you do driving around, and you would have to work twice as hard just to make the same amount as if someone were making $10 a load for the same distance. Number three, ignore the acceptance rate, you don't have to accept any loads that are bullshit. Remember, you are a paid contractor, you choose what fits your bill. All that statistic does is make you think psychologically that you need to keep it high, or they will deactivate you. I have an acceptance rate of 15%, because I know what I am worth and I'm not deactivated. Number four, trip planning. You should take everything into consideration. Do you have any appointments you need to keep? Do you need to fuel up? Is this going to take you into no man's land, where you are going to have to drive unpaid to get close to a batch? This falls in line with knowing where the pickups are. I advised you to get the gas buddy app and card, that way you can pay it back in a day or two, or over the weekend, and save $0.10 a gallon, while also providing you a map of where the cheapest gas stations are. When pre-planning your trip, make sure this isn't a problem restaurant, and don't be afraid to say no to it. If you find it agreeable, make sure the place you are delivering to, if it's a restaurant, a mall, and apartment, or somewhere you haven't been before, activate satellite on Google Maps, and look at it in a bird's eye view to see where it is located, that way you know where to park and how to get to the customer faster. Number five, this is your business, whether you're doing it as a side hustle job or full-time, you need to track down your miles, need to write off your fuel, your phone payment, your internet, keep any receipts pertaining to doordash, even meal breaks are paid for, so you can write those off if they are required in your job. Also, your car payment can also be used as a write off as well too.
ive only been doing this for about a month now, and i only accept $3/mile and only orders under 3 miles total in driving, to stay somewhat local to hotspots, and since ive done that ive been making a consistent $40/hr, but i also use multiple delivery apps at a time so i have constant work
@@skatingmagician this is all market dependent unfortunately. You are really lucky you have that option. I used to do $1.50/bare minimum till about June of this year. And then the warm season happened and everyone and their mother went out to eat. Now I have to do $1.25/mile bare minimum. And I -still- have to decline so many orders that both apps stop sending me orders after awhile. It's just sad. Y'all are so lucky.
can someone further explain this in how to do the tracking and reporting it once tax time comes ? i see people talking about but not really explaining it 😭😭😔
@erik bray no.....no not at all. You will be expected to pay all the taxes your employer usually pays. This includes 15% social security taxes and about 20% income tax. Tracking your miles will allow you to deduct this business expense from your income, which is not taxed at all as a 1099. You may also deduct oil changes, tires, and additional expenses related to your business income. This must be all tracked and recorded. Most people are very bad about recording this information especially since January's receipts are not needed until the following year. In this way the government has the upper hand and takes advantage of workers like yourself. Because you dont understand. Because you are focused on the money you are MAKING you become distracted and forget to focus on how much you get to KEEP.
I used to Doordash. You hit EVERYTHING right on the head. Great job explaining all dashers need to know to be successful. It is very addictive. I used to do it 7 days a week.
My first day, I accepted whatever deliveries came up on my screen. I ended up in one of San Francisco’s worst housing projects. Needless to say I learned from that day.
I was driving near fast food places the other night after completing a differemt order & had someone order ONE large sweet tea from mcdonalds & only needed to bring it aroumd the corner. i got a 7$ tip from that
Great tips. Dashing out of state has helped me so much. Im from New Orleans and for the last 3 weeks I’ve been in Houston due to hurricane Ida. I’ve been able to earn income to keep my family afloat while out here. 🙏🏼
New Dasher here. Doing this as a supplement to my normal gig (grocery delivery). Two year old video, yet excellent advice, particularly about work/life balance. Gig work can burn you out chasing that (high) money.
"Do not limit yourself because you have a fear of the unknown." Something that I know, but still need to hear. Thank you for this video, about to start dashing today hopefully and a lot of these were things I was wondering about.
Dude made this 5 years ago. I’ve been delivering for 20+ years (maybe 1.5 on DD). A lot of this i knew but some I didn’t but still it’s great insight and reaffirmation of things I know or have been doing. I appreciate people like this dude.
Man if you work it right DD is awesome, well over $2000 a month which for us covers every bill almost twice, (closer to full than not.) Gas and car work is a tax write off as well as miles, phone bill, new phone, internet costs, etc. Know your ins and outs. Being a cab driver for 5 years helped too though. It's been a God send during this pandemic crap, these fires are getting pretty rough though. We don't work everyday, we work on average 25 hours a week and sometimes not at all, a lot of the time just my husband will go, we have kids and it is flexible enough to take time to just be a family. This has been the "American Dream" for us. We are in a prime area not a huge town and it isn't too small, a major college and 8 miles away from another major college. Seriously grateful, even on the crappy $3 deliveries, it adds up. Save declines for major distances for little pay and it wont mess with your stats.
Unassign yourself from the order and find another order. I waited 45 mins for an order, got a 1 star and complaint because the restaurant couldn't figure themselves out. Not worth the time or rating.
@@mandingopantsparty2299Half the orders in my area are Walmart and I decline every single one of them!!! Takes entirely too long and not worth it at all.
Yes. I agree, it is addictive! I'm retired and it gives me something to do and makes me feel less boxed in to my limited social security income! It gets really annoying sometimes and people need to turn on their porch lights at night! I have a giant flash light, but it's a hassle to juggle flashlight, phone and car keys and food!
I agree with the addictive part. I was hooked the first day I started because within that first hour I made $25 easy. I think it’s that order ding noise too. That’s gets you excited especially if you have an order over $8.
OMG thankyou for the "turn off your wifi" tip. Just started and I was going out of my mind wondering why the app wasn't working when I pulled up to McDonalds. Thx!! Works fine now

“Don’t limit yourself because you have a fear of the unknown”......well said‼️ I don’t do door dash but I thought this video was interesting. New subscriber
He's right about the addiction apart. Actually being able to see how much you've made that week, that day and that current dash, drives you to want to do more. Faster, faster, faster. More, more, more. I just started last week and I set times that I'll stop for the day, but I'll see what I've made and decide, I'll do 1 more. Ok, 1 more and that's it..... 1 last one, last one, this is it, ok 1 more lol. I was going to stop at 8pm tonight and went till after 10.
@@alexmack5019 I'm at $400 right now for this week. I've still got Saturday and Sunday to work so should be between $500-$600 if all goes well. I drive in a town of less than 15,000 people in rural Ohio so your outcome could be completely different depending on where you are. It's really all about the time you put in. I work lunch and dinner almost every day.

Always verify the order, a made a delivery and the drink was missing, thought it was inside the sealed bag. Went back and got the drink, a short drive, and received a cash tip. I have also discovered that many restaurants are very friendly, case in point is when I arrived for a pick up and is was almost done. The owner give me free drinks, kind of helps make the day more relaxing.

I know that typically during the week, it’s less busy than the weekend. There are more orders in the morning than at night especially Tuesday-Thursday (at least in my area). So during the week I get out earlier. I usually do 2 separate dashes. One in the morning starting around 7-8 and taking a break around 12-1. It’s easy just don’t accept orders too far away from your general area and unless you really need it don’t accept orders with no tip they’re unsustainable.
I did my first three deliveries last Sunday and accepted whatever popped up. 1st delivery was Keke's Breakfast Cafe to very ritzy neighborhood with 3 dollar tip, 2nd delivery was IHOP to another ritzy neighborhood with 4 dollar tip, last delivery was McDonalds to less than desirable neighborhood and they tipped 10 dollars...lol!
Use the big red bag if you have one. I use the big red bag even if its over 100 degrees out. It's bright red so it catches people's eyes, it has the logo on it and it instantly tells people that you're working instead of just a person looking at their phone. Generally if the store has a line that you would have had to wait in instead of a designated pickup spot the bag lets you jump it and start that delivery ASAP.
Thanks for this, I just started a few weeks ago for a little extra cash but I then wanted to do more-- now I'm in a slump mentally and this video helped boost my motivation. 🙌🏽

Tips from a dasher:
1. Do not drive more than 8+ miles for a order, gas prices are high save money!
2. In order to dash anytime for as long as you want, you MUST meet the following requirements:
a. 70+% acceptance rate
b. 90+% delivery rate
c. 4.7+ customer rate
d. 200+ overall deliveries
3. Para app is ur best friend
4. Be ready to encounter areas with no reception/WiFi
5. You Do Not need a pizza bag, just use your original grab bag for pizza orders

Tip: if you are dealing with rude customers(the ones that hassle you before you even get the order)especially those who don’t even tip CANCEL THE ORDER if you never touched the food you have every right to cancel what youve accepted.
Thank you. Had one last week to text me about bringing them some cigars and they'll cash app me when I bring their food.
Good info boss!
ive only been doing this for about a month now, and i only accept $3/mile and only orders under 3 miles total in driving, to stay somewhat local to hotspots, and since ive done that ive been making a consistent $40/hr, but i also use multiple delivery apps at a time so i have constant work

finessed grande hey I use stride to track my miles really helps plus when I input my weekly income it tells me how much to put aside for taxes
@erik bray you can get a tax deduction per mile that you drive with Doordash.

“Don’t limit yourself because you have a fear of the unknown”......well said‼️ I don’t do door dash but I thought this video was interesting. New subscriber
Welcome to the family.
How much did u bring in tho? And how do u set up taxes? I'm thinking about doing this
@@alexmack5019 I'm at $400 right now for this week. I've still got Saturday and Sunday to work so should be between $500-$600 if all goes well. I drive in a town of less than 15,000 people in rural Ohio so your outcome could be completely different depending on where you are. It's really all about the time you put in. I work lunch and dinner almost every day.
I decided to do Doordash as a second job and I cant wait to start!
@@makkimix9535 it’s is such a good side hustle just remember to track your mileage everytime you do it and save for tax

You are a very intelligent young man. I start door dashing and I like they way you describe the "Addiction" Like a gamblers anticipation of the next big win! Good job .
Just remember: You don’t work for Doordash, Doordash works for you
Haha
Try not accepting offers
U get zero offers unless it’s high peak time
N then they’re crappy still
Saw a door dash guy on xmas day wait over an hour at IHOP just to find out the order had been canceled he was pretty mad
Yeah I have learned that dashing on holidays is not the greatest you find out a lot of the stores are closed you do a lot of driving around so I just don't Dash on holidays anymore when a game is on TV like football basketball or baseball make a lot of money
I would never dash on holidays
I always text the customer know that I'm at the restaurant but I'm waiting on the food. Sometimes I text again telling them I'm still waiting.
They hyped up Valentine’s Day, but it sucked... one random day they sent me to pick up an order at a restaurant that wasnt hooked in with doordash and the restaurant said they’ve had three other door dashers come in ... wasted a good twenty minutes dealing with that ... even got an actual call from doordash
Usually the Dasher app is good at letting you know that an order got canceled.
Dude, you need to do a convention. Get Dashers together.
The original idea was called DashCon!! But be on the lookout for Breakfast with Bent! Soon as this shit over.
@@DoordashDiaries please don't call it Dashcon. Research the youtube channel Internet Historian and watch his video on Dashcon. It was a total failure.

Today was my first day and I accepted 3 $3.00-3.75 orders and thought ‘they’ll probably after-tip’. Boy was I wrong. 💀

I always accept all my orders because $3 adds up
tristan wilson I mean well somebody gotta do them lol..
@@HBJStudios lol right! Its like I want to decline those small $3 orders, but I'm scared I won't get another order anytime soon
I'm on my third day right now and figured out 90 percent of this..lol I catch on fast! The addiction is real. This guy is smart and very helpful.
When I get stacked orders whoever tipped more gets their food first. If it's the same tip I go with the order I got first.

Hey, just wanted to give a thx for your videos. Did my 1st dash today, made 85.00 in 4 hours. Not bad I think for my 1st time out, a few places (especially Sonic) really held me up for 20 mins. But kept positive. But your videos are spot on. Thank goodness I had my own pizza delivery bag, it kept pizzas hot. Thx again you're awesome.
But did you keep track of your mileage? Keep in mind you won't see the gas reduction.
Dude, I love you! I'm not a Dasher and don't intend to be. The headline drew me in but, I stayed because I quickly saw that you are a consummate teacher & salesman! Most of the customers are great or you never see them.
How was it?
I started dashing a few days ago, type in door dash tips and your channel came up. Thank you so so much for your info, I quit my job at at&t as a store rep. I made $200.00 on my first 2 hours in San Diego. The big plus is I have more time for family. Thank you again!
How’s it been going?
Don't lie, that is impossible.
I usually don't accept orders with less than $1.50 a mile. Pro tip: If you get an order that was "requested by a restaurant" there will be 0 tip because order was placed through their private app/website where there is not even an option to leave a tip.
False
Thats incorrect.. The chipotle near me has a delivery option on their app, and they dont have drivers; they use doordash. And some people just use doordash instead of chipotle delivery. Ive gotten tips either way, only difference is I cant see their individual order items when they use chipotles app. This only applies to doordash for me bc i dont do grubhub or ubereats, 😁😁
Mithica not true. Did one today, and got a tip.
Not true. Depends on your area. Papa Johns and Chipotle in my area does
I wish it was possible to do that in my city, of 500,000 people and still make a living wage but sadly...
I got into dashing this week thanks to you. I really appreciate the videos you’ve put out
I door dashed for the first time last night... man did I learn a lot, and I learned a lot from this video!
I honestly hope someone at the top of DoorDash see's this video and ends up giving you that $1000. If I were CEO or something, that is what I would do. Seeing as you're a loyal employee, a traveling employee, and probably have over 10k deliveries by now (viewing this almost a year after you posted); yes... you deserve that 1k!
Drivers aren’t legally employees of doordash

I do not pretend to be some god living person, especially since I do not believe in God nor Gods. I am NOT a great person. In fact, I'm a pretty shitty person sometimes. Lying about giving him that bonus he should have gotten if I could? No.
It may be hard for you to believe, but some people out there would do small things like that whether you believe it or not. Some people are nice in their own ways. I realize most people are shitty, such as yourself. But you believing everyone is a lair and talking shit, doesn't make it so. Kind of makes me wonder what happened to you in your life for you to make a comment so poorly about someone deserving that 1k bonus. Why so upset? Wait never mind. Like I said I'm kind of shitty, so I don't really care. I hope the rest of your life is as terrible as it has been to make you so angry.
Just started dashing and he is right about Hot Spots, I do not sit around, I drive around areas that I have been busy in. I complete an order and get another one as soon as I get near the Hot Spot.
Well put, dude. I'm about to start on my first-ever Dash.
You're very articulate and this was really informative. I'm waiting on my welcome kit to arrive. Thank you!

Then I get out again from 4:30/5:30 - 9 or 10 maybe even 11 sometimes. It’s all about holding yourself accountable. I usually don’t stop for the day until I’ve made a MINIMUM of $100-$150
So informative thank you. I had this playing when my husband came in from doing door dash. He actually sat still for this whole video lol thank you
We don't even have door dash in Jamaica but I still watch lol

I am a DoorDash beginner and thanks for the 8 tips. They were very educational and informative.
I am working for DoorDash right now as a representative assisting Dashers, and I'd say, I've learned some new things from an actual Dasher who's on the ground that I cannot see or relate to from using the knowledge base we have. I took note your tips and will sure to have these shared to my future Dasher callers. :))
I love that you keep your videos classy and professional. Non nonsensical music going on that keeps me from being able to focus on what you're saying. Your voice and rhythm of spoken word is super easy to listen to and that allows me to put this video on to watch and listen while I'm working on other things. Thanks for keeping it calm, collected, and quietly in charge as opposed to loud and obnoxious. You are an excellent teacher - thank you for doing these for us!!

It’s easy just don’t accept orders too far away from your general area and unless you really need it don’t accept orders with no tip they’re unsustainable.
Girl just breathe....you will do great! It's super easy and as long as you are consistent with it, you'll make good money :) best wishes to you!
Brilliant on just understanding what restaurants are the ones getting the most hits and not looking at hot spots.
The reason the hotspots don't work as well is because all of the herd of drivers flock there so it becomes slim pickings.
Thanks for this, I just started a few weeks ago for a little extra cash but I then wanted to do more-- now I'm in a slump mentally and this video helped boost my motivation. 🙌🏽
I started last night for the first time. 2 1/2 hours $61. These tips helped me so much

No Walmart stops for me. 5 bucks for a trip that will take me an hour? No.
Sheesh, your the 3rd comment I’ve read like this, highway robbery. I guess it just depends on the area. I had a Walmart stop, 3 bags drove like 12 mins for $16. And I didn’t have to wait
