I learned basic vehicle maintenance on TH-cam, which led to me learning bigger repairs and upgrades, and eventually getting a job at a shop where I worked for three years and got my state inspection license. TH-cam is a life changing tool.
I swear I’m cursed when it comes to vehicles. But I don’t trust mechanics (sorry no offense intended to those mechanics out there who may come across my comment), it’s just that The times when I’ve had to take my car in, I’ve had to take it BACK because they didn’t do the job correctly or completely! So now Im thinking… since I spend so much time doing deliveries, I’d like to learn more about basic vehicle repairs. One thing I think that ALL DASHERS should have is a AAA membership!!!
I learned more off TH-cam this year, than I did in 6 yr of college. It’s just such an outdated system! If we wanna know something - we learn it on TH-cam - like Neo in the Matrix “I know CAR REPAIR!” (Or Dashing, or Knife Forging, or knitting, or…) It’s awesome. And kids in 10 years will wonder why we use ‘old slow TH-cam’ That’s how the world works - only constant is change they say.
I am 61 and on SSDI. My husband is also disabled. I needed to do something to bring in more income. After researching, I settled on DoorDash. I had a bad night tonight with only two small dashes. A tip for y’all Dashers who enjoy driving fast, and getting things done quick. Not sure if my man covered this in a previous video but the most OPTIMAL speed to be going for fuel economy is 55-65 MPH (88-104 KM/H). Therefore trying to be in that range MOST of the time will save you the most gas and allow you to complete deliveries quicker. Less $ put into gas, and more $ made at a faster rate. I’m not encouraging speeding but just a lil tip ;)

Yours are far and away the most comprehensive and detailed. This is now my main source of Doordash info. In the beginning of the video, you mentioned residual income. Do you use an app for that? I’m looking for ways to earn residual income.
I've been learning from TH-cam University for several years about many subjects. I did my first deliveries today and both had bad delivery directions, but I resolved them by contacting the customers. Thanks for the great info!

Extra pointer: A lot of banks have a way to classify your expenses. All you have to is go through your account, on the banks website, and classify the expense. This is a time saver for tax purposes

One app for Doordash drivers that I highly recommend is Beans, for iphone and I think it's now out for Android too. No more searching for an apartment in a complex. Enter the address of the complex, enter the apt # and it maps out the complex and where in the complex your apartment is located. At the complex, enter the Beans screen and it tracks you as you drive through the complex, 2 things to note: it does not rotate the map, so you have to know what direction is right and left, and not all complexes are mapped out.
Super ambitious guy. So many excellent tips. I'm an artist, and since covid have had trouble selling my work. (Huge glut of artists suddenly). TY. My son did Doordash and suggested I watch some videos before trying it. This has been very helpful.

Wow this is crazy; I started food delivery for postmates back when they were around, then switched to door dash when they told me I had the opportunity to work for them. It’s been great platform. I dash all year for Christmas. It works great, I make a good amount and makes it all worth it.

Excellent video man. My wife and I are about to move into another State and in doing so I will be leaving a 20 year career at UPS. There is no transferring. I would have to quit and get rehired. Then they would work this 40 year old like he's 20 again. I can't do that. So I am looking at door dash and Lyft while also attempting to build up a Photography business. At the same time, I would entertain part time at UPS. They do have excellent benefits at UPS. Even part time. If you're able to get on in the mornings then drive for the day that could be nice as you would have your insurance coverage

It's not free, but I would recommend Intuit Quick Books Self Employed. Has all the stuff you described Mint having plus mileage and transactions can be marked business or personal. Also automatically marks tax deductions.

Actually for nearly every vehicle made after 1987 it's around 45 MPH. It's pretty easy to find that fact online.

Sounds strange - check ur tire PSI - can add 10% fuel economy- meaning you get 10% more free savings on fuel!

I'm so grateful you do these videos. I had no idea where to start. P.S I am a former bookkeeper, I know how to keep up with expenses. Extra pointer: A lot of banks have a way to classify your expenses. All you have to is go through your account, on the banks website, and classify the expense. This is a time saver for tax purposes

I used Gridwise app to track my miles (shout out to tax rebates) and Spotify (Dan Carlins long talks) and the time flew by.

One app for Doordash drivers that I highly recommend is Beans, for iphone and I think it's now out for Android too. No more searching for an apartment in a complex. Enter the address of the complex, enter the apt # and it maps out the complex and where in the complex your apartment is located. At the complex, enter the Beans screen and it tracks you as you drive through the complex, 2 things to note: it does not rotate the map, so you have to know what direction is right and left, and not all complexes are mapped out.

Wow this is crazy; I started food delivery for postmates back when they were around, then switched to door dash when they told me I had the opportunity to work for them. It’s been great platform. I dash all year for Christmas. It works great, I make a good amount and makes it all worth it.

Excellent video man. My wife and I are about to move into another State and in doing so I will be leaving a 20 year career at UPS. There is no transferring. I would have to quit and get rehired. Then they would work this 40 year old like he's 20 again. I can't do that.
So I am looking at door dash and Lyft while also attempting to build up a Photography business.
At the same time, I would entertain part time at UPS. They do have excellent benefits at UPS. Even part time. If you're able to get on in the mornings then drive for the day that could be nice as you would have your insurance coverage

It's not free, but I would recommend Intuit Quick Books Self Employed. Has all the stuff you described Mint having plus mileage and transactions can be marked business or personal. Also automatically marks tax deductions.
