    A Dyson product with an inadequate battery is absolutely no surprise. It blows me away that such a great company still doesn’t have their battery technology up to scratch, I’ve totally given up with replacing factory batteries even though they’re under warranty. It’ll be interesting to see if someone makes an aftermarket battery for the floor cleaner 👌

      @@jmacho54 that’s absolute bullshit, I’ve changed to a aftermarket adapter and I’ve been running the vacuum on max suction for months and months, their battery technology is dogshit, it’s a cop out excuse to provide a sub par product (the battery)

      @Luke.young. 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@larsisaksen I’m an electrician, the Dyson motor has thermal protection it cuts out well before it has issues. I’ve been using my vacuum for the last 6 months with a hitachi battery and adapter, I’ve never once had it go into thermal protection.
      running a system at full capacity hurts nothing but the batteries, and I assure you, you’re not going to hurt an aftermarket battery like hitachi, Milwaukee etc. even those batteries have thermal and under voltage protection through the battery management system (needed for lithium ion batteries), and if you do somehow manage to cook a battery any reputable power tool brand will replace the battery, on the spot. Without sending away for repair.

    The Dyson 360 vis is an amazing failure, Dyson has been busy on TH-cam reviewing its own products, Dyson is very happy with this product. I tested this Dyson 360 Vis.
    What a disappointment, could not find its way out of paper bag, may have the most powerful suction, but whats the point when it gets lost and runs out of power in 20 minutes :(

    Still wandering why Dyson is so behind the competitors, for that price which is more expensive from all top tier competitors. Only Dyson fan boys can buy it. The auto empty station has been a very game changer.

    • @Ern.308
      @Ern.308 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Although it seems like a game changer - the reason other robot vacuums require an auto station is because they cannot hold much as much rubbish as the Dyson vac plus not everyone wants an ugly huge auto station in their house. Just saying. 👍

    • @Bernard_Horner
      @Bernard_Horner 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Ern.308 Not agree, stations are the game changer, they not only empty dust, they charge and discharge fresh water and dirty water, they clean the robot and mops and dry it. This dyson only vaccums dust it’s so poor in functions for that price. And also stations ar becomeing smaller like seen on the new Ecovacs T30 omni and others like Roboroks ones. Personally i’ll never pay a price that high, without the floor mopping function. Vaccum+Mop function combined result in a perfect polished floor, in only a unic passing on it. And last but not list, also comptetitors offer robots without a big charging/self emptying station but at a half of the price.

    A robot that can truly remove stuck on hard floor dust and uses full width carpet bristles. That’s something I’ve wanted to see on other robot vacuums. I’ve used some roborocks, and while they are great in general, they just don’t perform well with ultra fine hard floor dust and removing fibrous dust from carpets, something bristle-less brushrolls are terrible with. I love the engineering with the bagless system that uses cyclones instead of filters. Dyson could have made a bagless empty system, they just choose not to.
    The motor is something only seen on their cordless vacuums, very powerful and efficient, but in this case, too powerful with not enough battery life. You could be ok with 17 minutes on something like a V11, because it does indeed perform very well and you are moving the floor head much faster, but this robot moves super slow.
    On the topic of the brushroll, that was literally how I imagined a hybrid fluffy/carpet brush years ago, and I am just now seeing it in a product. You get excellent carpet surface cleaning and hard floor dusting in one package. I hope Dyson doesn’t have a patent on this and other companies move toward this brushroll design.

    Dyson robot feels like apple of vacuums. Overengineered where its not needed, and lightyears behind in all essential things. Even in their promo video they got a f'ing desinger and not an engineer to show its features. "look a pretty app that insta connects to to your phone, or how quiet it is.. You can press this button, or that button.. It was borderline cringey tbh. And biggest fail is that you need accomodate your home to this robot and not vice versa.. I mean, who's idea was to use optics that has to have just perfect amount of lighting ( not to much, not too little) for robot to dock. And if its so quiet you could just use it while you sleeping, yes ? Well, not really, because this bloody thing then turns on its lights on to illuminate whole room so it actually could navigate, which, again, could be avoided if it used lidar system. And all of that for around 2000 euros..
    They could just basically put all the guts of one of their upright into base station, use lidar system for navigation, few rotating mops at the back and keep everything else and it would be one of the best robo vacuums today... Such of let down..

  • @passby8070

    Stop using the "over engineered" term because it is not, it is severely under engineered for what it is. The just plunk their regular vacuum driver and slap in a few sensors and call it a robot... sorry Dyson but it does not work this way, that's why it's is so terrible.

    • @battery_wattage
      @battery_wattage 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      As someone minoring in mechanical engineering, I have to disagree. The engineering, especially the motor is amazing compared to what other companies have to offer. It’s literally a hybrid of an axial and centrifugal compressor, not often seen with many single stage jet engines.
      Because Dyson spends so much money on higher end engineering, other companies invest in swapping on new features. I will say they are done fairly well for lower tiered engineering, but it could be drastically better. For example, the filter dust tray is a very inefficient bagless design compared to a true cyclone system.
      What Dyson really lacked was real world testing and finding what consumers wanted. They almost exclusively based their designs solely on lab testing which in this case, did not go so well. They wanted to focus on performance and not so much on convenience. Unless you want good robot performance, this is clearly not a good option, especially for someone with disabilities who would greatly benefit from a auto empty system.
