    Today we take a look at the switchbot S10, a robot vacuum cleaner that is capable of mopping, vacuuming and filling itself up directly from your tap! The switchbot S10 introduces direct plumbing into your water, along with a tonne of other features that we haven't seen on a robot vacuum cleaner before, such as the ability to fill up a dehumidifier and humidifier from switchbot! This makes the switchbot s10 robot vacuum cleaner unlike anything we've tried before here on Stu's Reviews!

    Would love to see a match up between the S10 and the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, as i see many YT's saying that the S8 is the best robo cleaner at the moment.

    I was loving mine.
    Until one day my partner unplugged the docking station while the robot was vacuuming to iron something and forgot to plug the dock back in. And now for what ever strange reason the dock will no longer charge my S10. It's taken over 2 weeks so far for them to send me a box so it can be sent off to a repair centre. So it's currently an expensive paper weight 😢. I sure hope I'm not without it for much longer. I retired my old robot vacuum and then this happens. now I'm back to manual cleaning! 😔

    Another great video so well done. Really enjoy the casual but fully informative way you present, far better than most. This vacuum is definitely the dogs testicles. Unfortunately , talking of dogs, I have x2 dogs which I think would see it as just being fair game to try to chew. If I had the money though I think the SwitchBot device would be the one I’d go for.
    Out of curiosity i’ve always wondered what reviewers do with their old robot vacuums. Do you sell them on or give them away?

      Thanks rich! When I move on from the last one, any we get to keep I usually keep hold of them for a while for future comparison or pass it on to family, although keep in mind I’ve got 3 on the go at the moment- one on both floors of the house and one in the studio, so those regularly get swapped out!

    Great video. Any idea if the S10 can mop on multiple floors? Theverge online review states it can only mop on one floor which would be a dealbreaker for me.

  • @hellsing56666
    @hellsing56666 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

    To match the floor they need to put a coil spring inside the roller, quite easy.

    While I’m pleased with my machine, the detection hasn’t been satisfactory. Stu in the video must have a different machine, as mine keeps using the SLAM system more than my previous Roomba i7. Hopefully, they will address all the issues I’m experiencing, along with those reported by other users.

    • @StusReviewsUK
      @StusReviewsUK  11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Interesting, I’ve not noticed any problems with detection on my end - what are you finding it’s struggling with in your case? Perhaps there’s some obvious variable that is different?

    • @jamesmaitland4614
      @jamesmaitland4614 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It can’t seem to navigate the table or various other surfaces properly. It’s strange because, with this advanced technology, I feel it should rarely need to use the SLAM function. However, for me, it seems to rely on it as the primary method to interact with its environment. The app also requires a lot of work, but this is forgivable.

    • @StusReviewsUK
      @StusReviewsUK  11 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      That’s really odd because that’s the total opposite of my experience. I mean part of this episode you see it navigating under a tv cabinet.
      The only thing I can think of is you’re not on the latest firmware (mines on 1.0.546), or under settings>more features you haven’t got AI avoidance and Reduced collision on? (Or if you have try and play around with those settings to see if that helps)… other than that I’ve got no idea. If you’ve spoken to switchbot support I’d love to know what they said!

      @jcm9698 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I just received mine the other day and did its first clean yesterday after setting up the water station, and it worked like a champ. Have you updated the firmware? Maybe your issue is that? Just guessing of course, but so far, in the extremely short time I've had mine, I'm very pleased. I'm still learning the nuances of the app, but so far so good.....

    I'm just not sure I trust Switchbot enough for such a major purchase. Same with their locks although they may be my only option to make sliding patio doors smart. I have their curtain motors and a couple of bots, with the new Matter hub (I had 2 other hubs, 1 never worked). My curtains will just randomly open in the middle of the night. And the bot will press the button on the coffee machine in the wee hours and brew the coffee I have ready for the morning. It's just unreliable. I had high hopes for Matter with Apple HomeKit but it really hasn't delivered. I don't dare have door locks that may randomly unlock whenever they want, and I don't dare spend that amount of money on a robot that might do its own thing too. It's such a shame as the products are really clever, but they just don't play nice with Apple. Not reliably anyway.

      @StusReviewsUK  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You’re right - it is a couple of CM taller than others I’ve tested, not something I’d considered actually because a lot of my furniture is high off the floor (or very close to the floor)!

      @@StusReviewsUK Big thing for me - I want it go under sofas, footstools, sideboards etc. Mind you, the problems I have with ecovacs because they don't provide a facility to backup/restore a map. Every few months you have to reset the vacuum for one reason or another, and start everything off from scratch. Really annoying.

      Funnily enough, was thinking about this last night after I posted… (thinking about my bin idea 😂). I guess dust bags have a small advantage of being more efficient and reducing the need to clean filters etc, so they do have their place, but I agree - I wish they’d all be done away with!

    • @fuzziestlumpkin
      @fuzziestlumpkin 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah, besides the fact that proprietary dust bags in 2024 seem like nothing but a cash grab (although I do see the other side of the coin where a continued revenue stream can help keep connected products and services alive), having another piece of unnecessary plastic to go straight to landfill doesn't seem super sustainable either.
      I did just order one though, so AITA lol.

      @StusReviewsUK  11 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Well remembered that I covered that earlier this year, but with the RE4 I said it was one of the best for *value*, not best overall - and I still think the RE4 is one of the best in terms of value (most features for the cheapest price)…
      Besides, if these were competing for ‘the best overall’, then the point is still moot… this has only just come out, so could have taken the podium (which it has - until I try something better) 👀
