I have the S8 MaxV Ultra (downstairs) and wanted a beast for my carpet upstairs and this seems to be it. Your videos sold me on this one. I grabbed one and I love it! At first the navigation seems counter intuitive but when you let it do its thing which is from the inside out, it does an amazing job. The obstacle avoidance is pretty good too. It rarely bumps into things, maybe a touch here and there. Was surprised about that. It’s a bit slower and doesn’t have the battery that I’d love but this is more of a set it and forget it than a watch it type of vacuum in my opinion. The cons besides battery are that I can’t seem to have it spot clean from the dock/app. The closest thing you can do is manually put it where you want it then stop it accordingly. I’d also like to see once it detects dirt to go back and go over that area again. Those are on my wishlist. Thanks again and great video as always.
I think the filter is staying so clean because it has that one cyclone right in the middle. In the past Dyson is called that level 3 root cyclone technology and from what I've seen that works better than any other dyson cyclones. I'm glad they brought that back with this robot. Probably needed to with how compact the bin is
Thank you for sharing your experience of the Dyson and its latest firmware update! I don't care about the mopping function, I don't even want that in a vacuum cleaner! What is very important to me is NAVIGATION & correct mapping as well as OBSTACLE avoidance! You said it had improved since the last firmware update. What do you think about obstacle avoidance and those "swivel chairs"? Can it navigate around them?
YES!!! it is cleaning my house and i have yet to add a no go zones or keep out area on the map, It really is amazing how good at obstacle avoidance it has become, now small cords on the ground I think it will still struggle with
For pure vacuuming its unmatched and on carpet its like 10 times better than the rest, but it just doesn't mop or self empty. The self empty shouldn't be a big deal as you still have to change bags on self emptying vacs, its the mopping that should be the deciding factor
I think the big hoopla about "not having a self-empty station" is a bit overblown. I mean, yes, it's convenient, but the docking station is a vacuum cleaner in of itself, which requires maintenance like changing bags/emptying bins, cleaning and replacing filters, and occasionally unclogging the duct that carries debris from the robot to the station's collection bin. Quite frankly, I'd love to see their Wash G1 in robot form.
@@MrsPaulaRogers I am sorry but that is so untrue. I own a Roomba S9 plus which is comparable in shape to this and also has a ton of power. I don’t check on that thing for 4, 5 sometimes 6 weeks. I just let it run. It’s such a inconvenience to have to empty it every few days. I have never had any issues with the emptying dock, it just works. Paying >1200$ for this, not having any premium features… nah never.
Who knows how long that will be. The 360 Vis Nav has been in development since 2016 (Source: Tech Crunch, article: "For Dyson, the 360 Eye robot vacuum is only the beginning," July 22, 2016). Hopefully, they move much quicker with the next-generation model.
Thanks for the great report. I unfortunately returned this robot. The reason is that attempts to connect to the sleeping robot from the app failed to connect with a high frequency in my house. Even though I could connect to the robot from the app without any problem while the robot was awake, when the robot's display was a crescent moon, it did not wake up easily. Another reason was that it was difficult to operate the robot using the Japanese voice through Amazon Alexa. The robot's interaction with Alexa is difficult to coexist with other companies' products. I think it is a great shame because I think the hardware performance is perfect.
With a Golden Retriever, I like the idea of a bagless vacuum. I need to empty our Shark upright every time I use it. Are there any robots that are bagless that also mop?
the eureka is the only bagless and mop, shark has a 2 in 1 mop but I don't recommend it since the mopping feature in the app is so hard to use. Shark is the best for dog hair in a robot,
@@JustADad I appreciate your reply! Would it make sense to buy the Shark to vacuum only, and then a second robot to mop? The Shark 2in1 is only $350 today.
How do you think the X40 ultra compares with the 12,000 pa of suction? Or is it not really comparable? Is the navigation better with the X40? I’m still waiting on my X40 to be delivered, should be here tomorrow!
I love Dyson and I love this robot vacuum BUT, your dreame X40 that’s on the way will be the much better decision in the long run, I have a dreame, and I have the Dyson. Dreame is hard to beat because of all the features and its performance etc, but the dyson is just a beast at vacuuming because it has Dyson digital motor and dysons scientists to back it.
@@walidwafai9855 how is the navigation on the dreame? I just returned my Q Revo MaxV for the dreame. And Roborock by far is superior at least in navigation, but the obstacle avoidance was not good at all.
No other robot is going to be able to compete with suction on carpet and hardwood, this has a full size vacuum brush roller and great suction, but the others can do mopping and auto empty and more features in the app, but this has hands down the best pickup.
I bet if you go over the same area with a dyson stick vac it will grab more stuff. This robot vacuum has 65 air watts while the stick vacs have 260 air watts of suction.
Even if this thing could suck the color out of my carpets, it wouldn’t offset the fact that you have to empy the bin every 2 days. I am sorry, additionally the Dreame X40 vacuuming every day will get very very close to the cleanliness of this.
Oh boy! That much stuff AFTER the X-10 cleaned the house! My x-10 will be here in a few days. Did I make a cleaning mistake?? My regular Dyson vac is a monster. This robo Dyson looks great as well. BUT, it does not mop or auto empty. There is that.
It's good that the updates have improved things but it's still very difficult to justify paying $1200 for a robot that does not self empty, has terrible battery life when set to the max power mode and has no mop. Also the camera navigation will never be as good as Lidar navigation.
I think your carpet will get thinner and thinner. I think your conclusion is way to fast.Try to analyze the content. Is it from the sweet dog? or from the wife with long hairs? I lost complete trust in Dyson. It's only marketing.

Conclusion: if you buy a Dyson product, put it in the basement for a few months to let them iron out the bugs before using it.
LOL that is funny!

Have you gotten a regular vacuum out after the Dyson to see if it leaves alot.
it is monster when it comes to vacuuming
Good video. It’s just a shame the Dyson dose not additionally mop!
Is it picking up carpet fibers?
Still going to wait for their next model.

Wow!! Look at that dust!!!
how long does that battery last can i clean your entire house without needing a charge
battery will clean for about 2 hours then needs to recharge
What is a good budget option under 400?
White Shark AI ultra robot vacuum, or Eufy L60 with auto empty or renewed J7 roomba
@@JustADad definitely leaning towards the Eufy L60 with auto empty
Maybe if you’ve that much dirt in the carpet you should get a Kirby.

Never turn the vacuum upside down on hard floors as it might scratch the camera

no mistake the x10 pro omni for the money is a good in-between vacuuming robot and it mops also
x40
if it had mopping it would be the best robot on the market

not really
