Beautiful video man, thank you! The Sub is absolutely awesome, no doubt. But for me, it's the Omega every day and literally twice on Sunday's. The case with its sensually sculptured lyre lugs is like an art piece, the Sub's case is like just a block of steel. Even the Bond bracelet just looks cooler than the bland Oyster. In this video, it's the vinyl record wrist shots that carry the Omega over the finish line undoubtedly. Personally, I sold all my Sub's, steel and TT, and still own 2 SMP's. That's just my choice, you do you booboo 🙂
Yea talks about having fun, the Omega has more variants to go with and they got quite plenty editions unlike the Submariner keeps timeless piece and more serious. As the owner of the 60th Anniversary Bond SMP i can say this.

Out of the two, I’d choose the Submariner. However, given the Seamaster can be had on the secondary for 1/3 the price of the Sub, the Seamaster is an absolute no brainer. If you want to know if a tapered bracelet would improve the SMP, just look at the Lange Odysseus, with similar tank track style bracelet, and you have your answer: resounding yes. Tapering improves comfort and elegance, since it draws the eye away from the bracelet and towards the watch case.
So here is the thing I bought the Seamaster 300m Chronograph senda gold on steel for 14k preowned 3months old and a submariner no date for 14k. new. I have both and I love them, the sub is an icon but sometimes it gets boring on the other hand the seamaster is more interesting in design, if you have the wrist size instead of the sub I would recommend the sea-dweller SD43 you would never get bored with that one
I own the Seamaster and the SD43. Sized for my wrist incredibly they weigh exactly the same. Go figure. The Seamaster wears more comfortably as it's better balanced by the hefty bracelet. Love the SMP.

Furthermore, the omega crystal has antiglare coating on the inside and outside of the crystal. Finally, you get to see that beautiful movement with the exhibition back. My 2 cents. Nobody will use submariner or seamaster to go diving. They will buy a $500-700 Seiko diver for that purpose, so at the end it will be a personal preference.
I missed the mark on that one. 😔 my submariner review has the bezel action sound in the beginning. And my white seamaster review has the bezel action sound on that one.
You should have compared the black dial SMP to the sub. I loved the blue dial on the SMP in the 90’s…..but this new blue doesn’t do it for me. The black SMP is gorgeous though.
The beauty, elegance, refinement , classic iconic design which will never feel old , proportions, tapered bracelet ,the most satisfying bezel action ,extremely thin at 12mm and the glidelock clasp of a Rolex Submariner is just unmatched. I consider the Rolex Submariner 124060 to be dive watch perfection personified as a total package and value for money. The omega on the other hand is an absolute disaster. The odd lookin helium escape valve. The non tapering 20mm bracelet in 2024 (wtf are you doing omega?? Sleeping fr) . Too thick 13.7mm compared to the 12mm of the Submariner. The wave dial and skeleton hands . The design language is just an absolute jumble of features from different eras . Their bracelet design is still stuck in the 80’s lol . The scalloped bezel which is not grippy and bad /loud bezel action .Looks very crude and unrefined, not classy at all and just a confusing watch in general .
I bought the last gen no wave SMP as less bling and slightly smaller. Ive been waiting for the new SMP as current one 6 years old. Needs to be slightly smaller, more subtle waves and a bracelet overhaul.
@@BrokeWatchFanatic Yes the blue on that edition is stunning, I agree. If you have to get one, would you choose NTTD edition or one of their blue dials?

The Sub by a mile. Better looking, performing, and history. Omega always misses the mark on their watches. The Seamaster looks like a mess. The band is from the 80's, the dial is unattractive and disorganized, the skeleton hands are outdated, and, of course, the helium release valve is just not necessary at that size and looks unappealing.

The bracelet on that SMP ISN’T from the 80s, you moron. It’s completely different to any Omega bracelet from that decade. It’s a sportier version of the bracelet on the 1993 model. Stupid doesn’t even begin to describe you. You’re also a spineless idiot with zero integrity. Five months ago you were saying that SMP was a great watch, now it’s garbage. Are you naturally stupid or did you take lessons?
The Seamaster just looks cheesy, immature, and overdone. The submariner is a timeless icon that will still look awesome 50 years from now. Not to mention it’s a better built watch.
It’s actually not a better watch. The craftsmanship of the Omega is actually more refined. The only reason why Rolex has higher retail value and resale value is decades of brilliant marketing that has ingrained in peoples minds that it’s a better watch. When in actuality, if you break the watch down all the way to its wheels, the Omega is far superior.
@@GQguy24Turn both bezels and listen to the Rolex quality. The SMP sounds worse than a Chinese one from Ali Express. The bracelets ? The comfort ? Why do all brands copy Rolex and none copy Omega's goofy design? Because Rolex is definitely and infinitely better. Now and forever.
@@maitrehg you’re just proving my point lol. Nothing of what you just said is factual. It’s the decades of marketing that has literally trained people to believe that Rolex is the better built watch. You can walk into any omega dealer today and get the exact omega model you want because they produce millions of more watches than Rolex does every year. Rolex purposely only produces a set amount so that the value will rise. Never heard of supply and demand? It’s simple business 101. It has nothing to do with the actual quality of Rolex. Are they very good watches? Of course. They’re excellent watches actually. But to they are superior to Omega is ridiculous. Only thing I agree with you is on the bracelet. I don’t like the bracelet on the SMP. That’s why I got mine on the black rubber strap.
@@GQguy24 When a manufacturer doesn't even make the effort to make a quality-sounding bezel on a diver, that says a lot about the overall quality of the product. For me, that's 50% of the experience. Being forced to remove my bracelet and put a rubber band on a watch of this price would be a real sacrilege.

Rolex keeps it simple, if it worked the first time, keep it going, reason why you can tell the first submariner to the current one.

My 2 cents. Nobody will use submariner or seamaster to go diving. They will buy a $500-700 Seiko diver for that purpose, so at the end it will be a personal preference.
The majority of us are desk divers for sure lol
2531.80 vs 16610?
I don’t have those models with me but these are the latest models from each.
would be good if you let us hear the bezel action.
I missed the mark on that one. 😔 my submariner review has the bezel action sound in the beginning. And my white seamaster review has the bezel action sound on that one.
The seamaster is far superior.
You should have compared the black dial SMP to the sub. I loved the blue dial on the SMP in the 90’s…..but this new blue doesn’t do it for me. The black SMP is gorgeous though.
Seamaster has personality, the sub looks like any other dive watch from a microbrand, is just mehhhhh
it;s actually a personality that every other microbrand copies...
Everyone wants to copy the best. Who wants to copy the goofy design of the Omega?
Omega
I like the 5digit subs better.
Many would agree with you. The newer movement wins it for me though.
I’m very curious what the next generation will look like.
Are you serious? Omega has to get past Tudor first.
Omega is past Tudor.
Maybe, that’s my point. Rolex is on another level and I’m talking about the quality of the piece not the name or the hype.
Currently saving up for seamaster 300M no time to die edition, which I believe is the only omega diver watch that can surpass submariner.
The 75th anniversary version is up there for me. Such a stunning blue. But the NTTD is definitely there too!
@@BrokeWatchFanatic Yes the blue on that edition is stunning, I agree.
If you have to get one, would you choose NTTD edition or one of their blue dials?
@JS-hf1qg I’d have to go with NTTD.
I have both, the lume on the hands on the SMP is poor and lets the watch down, not really a fair comparison as your no way getting a sub for anywhere near the price of a SMP
Rolex knows what they’re doing…
Not an original comparison and not a lot to compare other than the water resistance and power reserve.
I have two omega watches and one is my favorite piece, but submariner is a different level of animal.
That Submariner will be looking classic in 50 years, that Omega will be lucky to get 10 before looking dated and needing another design overhaul.
It looks super dated now lol.
Omega cannot really change it too much because people have convinced themselves that they like it 😂
None of the SMP variants look dated tbh, so this won't look dated either.
@@zsb707 They look very 80’s. Very Pierce Brosnan.
Omega are just reluctant to modernise them.
It’s weird the Planet Ocean looks so fresh and nobody is interested.
Sheeples buy the 300.
@@alfieakaronaldog Sheeple, especially nouveau riche sheeple buy Submariners. As for Omega being reluctant to modernize SMP, Rolex hasn't modernized Sub for 70 years 🙂.
@@zsb707 It evolves constantly. It was pretty much perfect to begin with though.
It’s just changed to 41mm with a 21mm lug width.
SMP300 could do with some taper at least lol.
It has so many design aspects that people simply do not like in other watches.
But great if you like it 😘
Never liked the blue SMP. Looks like a plastic toy. The white dial black bezel on black rubber is the best SMP variation imo.
The better diver is a Seiko.
Trick question. Lol
The Submariner to me is the most iconic watch off all time, I also own the 60th anniversary that I wear on the dark blue nato, I dislike the bracelet on the SMP but watch is amazing
Bracelet is iconic
When I looked at them in-person, I preferred the look of the seamaster. The only reason I'm not considering buying the seamaster is because of its hideous bracelet.
Bracelet is Iconc🔥
Bracelet is ICONIC
i love both but do not have a submariner , i have 2 seamasters one a chrono and one an americas cup racing both early 90s models and the seamaster chrono has a much better bezel feel than the modern seamasters i also have a planet ocean and the bezel action is not great , my breitling avengers have a better action , how hard is it for manufacturers to get a rolex feel ? i believe that rolex use a spring loaded ball bearing where as others use a spring
I’m not sure why they can’t improve on that. Imagine the SMP having the bezel action of a submariner… 🤤
'The one criticism'??!! (is the lack of taper) Are you fcuking joking 😂
It has many problems that have been well documented.
Do you own one (don't answer that, I know the answer is no)? 🤣
Google guys having to have the SMP300 unscrewed from their wrist!
Wrist fatigue? GTFO. SMP is like 35 grams heavier.
I need to hit the gym more then. 😂
Sub > Seamaster
Speedmaster > Daytona
The Sub by a mile. Better looking, performing, and history.
Omega always misses the mark on their watches. The Seamaster looks like a mess. The band is from the 80's, the dial is unattractive and disorganized, the skeleton hands are outdated, and, of course, the helium release valve is just not necessary at that size and looks unappealing.
Such a goofy design.
@@maitrehgHave you got dementia? You’ve posted the same comment a dozen times on here and what a surprise, nobody is interested. Get help, moron.
Oh look, another clown who thinks he knows about watches. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ So you think the official timekeeper for the Olympics for almost 100 years and the first ever watch brand accepted by NASA (who rejected Rolex by the way) “always miss the mark” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 you really are a total idiot, aren’t you? The bracelet on that SMP ISN’T from the 80s, you moron. It’s completely different to any Omega bracelet from that decade. It’s a sportier version of the bracelet on the 1993 model. Stupid doesn’t even begin to describe you.
You’re also a spineless idiot with zero integrity. Five months ago you were saying that SMP was a great watch, now it’s garbage. Are you naturally stupid or did you take lessons?
What an awful take 🤦♂️😬
TUDOR FANBOY SPOTTED😂😂😂😂😂
Gimme the CLASSIC Submariner any day. And as for the James Bond connection....the SUB bwcame synonymous with the BEST Bond - Connery. 😎
RIP
The Rolex gets boring fast
Omega, because its not a rolex, rolex come with too much wanky image baggage.
Sub for looks and comfort. Seamster for an old-man beater watch that is quality at a value, ugly bracelet and clasp.
It’s not. And the fact that they produce a limited amount of watches, making it impossible to just walk into a Rolex dealer and get the model you want right now today also increases the value.
@@GQguy24TRUTH ❤
@@GQguy24 When a manufacturer doesn't even make the effort to make a quality-sounding bezel on a diver, that says a lot about the overall quality of the product. Also, several buyers complain that the clasp no longer closes after a certain time. A well-known problem with this hideous bracelet. In closing, I'm a bracelet guy. For me, that's 50% of the experience. Being forced to remove my bracelet and put a rubber band on a watch of this price would be a real sacrilege.
Of course Rolex, it wins in every comparison videos throughout history.
Comparison videos mean nothing. Put it to a genuine test like space exploration or timing the Olympics. Go hang on, they did, and Rolex failed. Guess which brand is synonymous for passing tests and being chosen for both?
@@IrishScribbler Na I don’t need to do all that, I just go with what my eyes see looks and feels better, Rolex 🤷🏻♂️, that wart on Omega and that non-tapering unadjustable bracelet, also the fact that they can’t even decide what the Seamaster is supposed to look like, either those ugly sword hands or the uglier skeleton sword hand thingy that watch is hideous. Rolex keeps it simple, if it worked the first time, keep it going, reason why you can tell the first submariner to the current one.
Omega should of never bulked up the Seamaster
There are a lot of us dying for the SMP to go back to 41mm…
The previous generation with a nice deep black dial without goofy waves and more rounded bracelet was way prettier.
Yup, it’s getting harder to find a great condition one.
WRONG ANSWER 😂
@@maitrehgDISAGREE 😂
Sub by a mile. Just turn the bezel to feel the quality. The SMP : Goofy design, mediocre bracelet, low beat movement and tiny power reserve and worst bezel action and sound ever.
Bezel action definitely a weak point but they’re slowly improving from previous generations haha
Not true 😂
I have simple taste. I just find the Omega to be hideous. I'm not bashing it but i just find the whole thing ugly as hell. The Dial, the hands the case and the bracelet. Just can't do it.
Same here. To me, the SMP is butt ugly.
Seamaster is trying way to hard design wise, just a mess to look at
Such a goofy design.
@@maitrehg Very goof

SMP300 = 💩
No hate but Omega is a discount mall brand.
A mall discount brand? What stuff are you on?
SMP is always going to be plan B when you can’t afford a Sub--sorry but it’s reality. Great output but ugly AF. So much potential down the drain-garbage bracelet. The 007 fantasy is useless too and pathetic. Who cares, it’s a fictional character.
Sorry but this seamaster always looked like a pile of dog 💩 to me , the Heritage line on the other hand is perfect. The Submariner is the most iconic watch ever, I personally love their two tone models find the standard steel version boring
