- Hi friends -
Today, we make Ghormeh Sabzi, which is a traditional, authentic Persian Herb Stew. This is among Iranians favorite comfort food and is served in almost every Persian get-together, and of course, any Persian restaurant you go to.
It's not difficult to make, but it requires some ingredients which might be a little harder to find.
I think if you make it this way, you will love it, even if you are at first unfamiliar with the taste.
Also, here is the video on how to make Persian Rice to serve with your Ghormeh Sabzi:

See you soon.
Thank you. My father passed away a few weeks ago and he never got to teach me how to make this. It will always remind me of him. I will make it in his memory.
Bless you my friend 💚
You have come to the right place. Yousuf. Recipes are really authentic
I have tried some of them. Really good
@@Nouf371 There are supposed to be seven herbs in it, not just one.
Lost my grandfather not too long ago, and I know he’ll be so proud carrying on the tradition. My grandmother would cry knowing I’m making Persian dishes.
well, my house was filled with the smell of when I was only 7 years old at my grandmother's home in Iran. That was a feeling of sad and happy at the same time.

Hello there, I love this dish so much, I'm from south of Iran and my mom cooks the meat with the herbs before adding water and the beans are usually cooked separately and then added to the broth after the meat and herbs are cooked. I learned to do that as well and it always turns out so delicious.
When the smell of ghormeh sabzi is in home I'm happy 🙂
I used your recipe to make this for Sunday dinner. It was absolutely delicious! Your channel is my go-to for Iranian recipes.
I love cooking this dish for my Persian boyfriend. True to his Iranian root, he always wants more dried lime added into the dish.
I have tried this recipe with only beef and by adding also some spinach!! It is absolutely delicious! Greetings from France.
Wonderful!
My neighbor from Iran gave me this to try 7 years ago and I asked for her recipe. We moved and I totally forgot about it for years untill I stumbled upon a paper with that recipe a year ago! It's so delicious 😋!

Thank you boss, I really appreciate this video, and I will think of you everytime I cook ghorme sabzi.. Youre recipe is perfect except its missing 1 thing, yogurt :DDD
you’re welcome my friend
Who adds yogurt to ghorme sabzi wtf
@@sepehrkhorsani6609 I've seen it
Yogurt in ghorme sabzi? Wouldn’t that just take away the flavor? Never heard of anyone adding yogurt.
Youssef Khan, my wife and I love your programs. She is Brazilian and uses your videos to learn how to make Persian food. Thank you so much!!!

I’m also a Brazilian with a Iranian partner using his videos to make Persian food. What a lovely coincidence that I am not the only one. Cheers from Australia

Thank you! I'd actually never had Iranian food until I moved in with a 2nd generation Iranian immigrant when I was in college and I tried his mom's ghormeh sabzi. I've been dying to try and make this myself, thank you for this! This was easy to follow and it goes well with cardamom tea, plus all the herbs make my apartment smell wonderful.
I’m so excited to try this recipe - definitely one for a Sunday at home. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful family favorite recipe with us!!
You’re welcome, thanks for watching. Let us know how it turns out :)
I’m not Iranian but I love Iranian food. This is one of my favorite here in Thailand. Unfortunately the Iranian restaurant closed down due to the pandemic. Hopefully they’ll open soon. I realized this dish is not complicated to make, however I’m not sure if I can find some of herbs here. I appreciate your Channel. Hope you’re doing well.
Hello, I am Iranian, thank you for talking about our food
It used to be much harder as people had to spend the whole morning chopping the herbs.
You talk too much. Is annoying . Just get to the bone
There are several Iranian restaurants in Bangkok now. Operating fully.
Thank you very much mister Yousef, I am half Iranian and I love Ghormeh Sabzi. I will try to make it myself after watching your great upload. Have a good evening. Greetings from the Netherlands. Mihdi
Thank you!
@ Hello Mister Yousef, today I have made Ghormeh Sabzi exactly how you explained in your video, and my parents (my father is from Iran) loved it and said it was perfect when we ate it tonight. I am so grateful to you for your service to upload the recipe and so carefully explaining how to make it. Als the rice was perfect, I made it with potato in de bottom with saffron. It was delicious. In the Egyptian cuisine they use the same technique of frying the greens until it blackened in a dish called "Taro with greens" or in arabic "قلقاس بالخضرة" .. the greens are chard leaves, cilantro and dill.
It was a pleasure seeing how this dish made; and I hope one day I'll make it .. Thank you so much and wish you the best ..

I love Ghormeh Sabzi! My mom sent me a pack of dried sabzi herbs years ago and I tried cooking it - so good! Nowadays I don’t cook it because there are a lot of Persian restaurants around me now, but I am cooking this dish this weekend. Thank you! 🙏🏻
Wonderful!
We are American not Persian but I have many Iranian friends and we have loved this dish for decades! Our kids who are now in their 20’s ask me to make this every year for their birthday dinner and I have tried in vain to make it like Persians do without success! I have decided to try again using this recipe which includes something I have never done before! It’s been slowly cooking for the past 7 hours and I just tasted it…. OMG! I’ve finally done it using this video and It’s amazing! In the past, whenever I fry the herbs (I usually just use dried Gormeh Sabzi herbs reconstituted in water) I have put olive oil in the pan and then added the herbs… When I watched you fry the herbs, you didn’t add oil until about 15 minutes after putting them in the frying pan! Doing it this way has made all the difference in the world! That spectacular taste has finally come through! My kids are going to be ecstatic! Khelli mammon!!
Timothy (My Persian friends call me Siavash)

Welcome!!
I went to Iranian restaurant. This dish tastes so heavenly. However here in Japan, whole dried lemon is not available. What can I use as an alternative for dried lemon? Any suggestions? Thank you so much. Have a blessed day❤
The closest I think would be lemon juice or sour grape 💚

Hellow Mr Yousef, first thank you for the recipe. I have never had an iranian dish and would love to cook this recipe, it looks so so good. I have a question about dry fenugreek. I do not have a way to buy fresh/green.Should I use half or less of the amount if its dry? Thank you.
