I am often asked how I can afford to travel so much? After all, travel isn't cheap? In this video I'll explain a few things. This video was filmed in Koh Samui, Thailand, April 2022.
I started life with nothing and I have still got nearly all of it left. Living in a poor area of Thailand has made me realise that life can be happy with very little.
Eddie, you put lot of work into running these channels and any reward you get is well earned. Its entertainment, information and a bloody good laugh too! so anyone complaining about anything you rightly earn from your hard work, should give their head a wobble! Lets be frank. The main reason Eddie has the money to travel so much and live so well is that he never married or had kids. That's the money pit where the rest of us de-invest our money. A couple of kids will cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars...and we all know what a divorce costs. Smart man. If I had my time over again....

A lazy turquoise sea rolling onto a wide crescent beach, a riot of tropical green spilling down to meet it, coconut palms exploding into a blue sky filled with white fluffy clouds. I know this was filmed earlier this year, but damn. From where I'm sitting here in the UK, now, in chilly October, you are one lucky guy, Eddie.

Great video and glad to see you back in Thailand. I haven't been to Koh Samui before, although I have been to nearby Phuket and Krabi a couple of times, but I will have to go after seeing your walk along that lovely beach! Loved the topic today as I get asked that question all the time. My answer is partially like yours - working, saving and investing money, plus being frugal and looking for deals constantly. The other part of my equation is that I committed totally to living abroad - so I am literally transferring any and all expenses I would have living in Canada, to living abroad and in many cases, it is much cheaper, particularly because Canada has some of the highest housing costs in the world. The average rent is now $2000 usd a month in major Canadian cities - well, I can get a better new and furnished apartment near a beach in Vietnam for a quarter of that cost (or even less). So I am SAVING money. I don't own or rent property in Canada because I travel full time. Secondly, I don't own a vehicle! That means I am not making car payments, maintenance and gas - saving hundreds a month - which pays for plane tickets! I get it - many people can't or won't make this kind of committment - but that is a major reason why I can afford to travel all the time. Secondly costs like internet, cell phones, transportation, are all cheaper than in Canada, so once again, I am saving money. It is why I will retire, for at least a decade, god willing in a cheap and warm and beautiful country like any in SE Asia or Mexico or southern Europe even. I saw my grandparents plan for a retirement of travel, only to get sick soon after - so I am doing it NOW - because it is my priority. Different strokes for different folks. Oh, and I'd buy a t-shirt with your logo - and wear it proudly on beaches worldwide!!
I love this video, it’s good when you’re more transparent with your fans. Everybody likes to see behind the scenes sometimes. I would definitely wear a tank top or a muscle shirt with some of your famous slogans “A bit of rumpy pumpy” “Alright, I’ve waffled on long enough” “A good old dirty massage” “Cheers”

I had never heard of the term "ebegger" before (I'm behind the times again!) and I didn't know TH-cam took 30% of "superchats" even though tbh I don't really understand why people do them - it just seems a bit sycophantic. Nevertheless you worked for what you got - so you bloody well enjoy it mate. (same here btw - anything I've got is down to moi) There's only one person in life you can truly rely on and that's yourself (you learned early to be wise with money) I at least learned this lesson - maybe the hard way. Anyway, I feel like you've really opened up recently and people are getting to know you better. Some also do promotional video's for condo's & hotels but that seems like a boring thing to do. The guy from the Overstay channel just did a couple of live karaoke video's. That was hilarious content. Worth tipping. Best thing is to stay authentic and have fun while you're at it.

I think right now is a perfect time to be doing Thailand vlogs. A lot of the vloggers I watched have disappeared or are just not producing the content anymore. A good time for someone to sneak in and take up the slack.
Ed, take a look at this channel "Integrity Legal Thailand" The given rule for staying in Thailand is 6 months in any 12 month period, if you are entering in and out, on a tourist visa, or the tourist stamp, and also some of the comments are interesting on what has happened to people. The video is "How long can you stay in Thailand on a tourist visa" I said as i noticed a comment asking how long they can stay. The guy is a American Thai lawyer in BKK

I went to Koh Samui on my 2nd of the 4 trips to Thailand and it was much better than Phuket - a very beautiful island. I'll say my favourite Thai islands are Koh Phi Phi, Koh Samui, Koh Lipe and Koh Tao
I pay 12€ a month NOT to see the ads. Sorry about that. You're good value, Eddie. I live on the Med but I have a beach walk then watch the telly because I still need to save money to enjoy my holidays AWAY from the Med. Bravo Eddie. +1

Hey Eddie. How good is Chaweng beach? Firstly, I think any naysayer needs to remind themselves that you my friend are on holiday and paying for it. Filming and uploading vlogs certainly cuts into your holiday time from being able to just lose yourself having time off from work back at home. Secondly, it's really nobodies business how much you earn (or don't earn) from TH-cam. My advice is for these people to start their own TH-cam channel and find out for them selves. You have a long list of growing subscribers who just love what you do and what you share. All the best mate and thanks for sharing!

@@cryptotrader2779 Good idea +1. I have it installed too. Does it work on TH-cam though? Being as Google Chrome and TH-cam have the same owner, that might be a conflict of interests.
@@andrewrobinson2565 Works for me. There's a few extensions you can try. Also "Adblock for TH-cam" is another. I have that on Chrome and works fine.
@@cryptotrader2779 Worth knowing. That could save me 144€ a year. Thanks! (Although I tend to use the YT phone app to stream TH-cam via Chromecast to any TV so the missus can watch with me 🤔.) 👍+1 The money's better in my pocket.

Hey Eddie. How good is Chaweng beach? Firstly, I think any naysayer needs to remind themselves that you my friend are on holiday and paying for it. Filming and uploading vlogs certainly cuts into your holiday time from being able to just lose yourself having time off from work back at home. Secondly, it's really nobodies business how much you earn (or don't earn) from TH-cam. My advice is for these people to start their own TH-cam channel and find out for them selves. You have a long list of growing subscribers who just love what you do and what you share. All the best mate and thanks for sharing!
