This made me very nostalgic. I was a regular EVA flyer from London to Bangkok and on to Taipei between 1997 and 2019. A change in circumstances and I am now grounded. I flew them in all classes. I've also flown a number of other airlines long haul. In my opinion they are the best. Never let me down. At one point I was flying monthly. True, I gained frequent flyer status with them so I got perks, but I often spoke to occasional flyers and never found anyone whinging. I do miss the 747 Combis they used to fly out of London.

Great stuff Ed. Good idea to use Eva for a direct flight. Really pleased despite the shoulder issue, you have successfully arrived. You look visibly pleased to be there, and I bet you are too. I love the sight of the chaotic taxi rank outside at Suvarnabhumi airport... You know you have arrived when you see that... You're there , and we're here. Good for you and enjoy the winter 👍

Got from the plane to Sukhumvit in 40 mins in October no exaggeration . Straight through passports, no landing form . Then onto the beautiful clean subway and then a quick motorbike taxi. Cost me 110 baht too .

Hi Eddie, we actually arrived on Monday and are also staying in Asoke. Like you, it was a great simple flight and experience. The only thing was our train was delayed, but I'm getting a £57 refund, so that was good too! Staying here for a month, home for Christmas with family, then back here for 3 months. Maybe link up for a pint or two, if I see you. Keep up the good work!

Nice Ed! Glad to see you going back to the Big Pineapple!! I am heading back in February. SE Asia - best place on earth! You're a Legend! Keep on Truckin'! Snack bag is very similar to what I end up with when I am on the move - LOL.
If you go down into the bowels of the airport you can catch the train into the centre and transfer to the bts. It's really cheap and easy to use, sorry I can't remember the station to switch to the bts. Smooooth, excellent. It should put you in the best frame of mind to really enjoy your holiday 😉
