  • I've always wanted to make my simracing experience as immersive as possible. I've been inspired by other great simracing youtubers such as Boosted Media and Karl Gosling's awesome setups. Thus started my quest for the Ultimate Triple screen setup and I think I've found it!
Disclaimer: I purchased these monitors myself and was not sponsored at all from Gigabyte Aorus.

I think this is the first vid I have seen featuring triple Aorus monitors. I couldn't physically fir the 48's in my sim racing space so went for triple 43's and I absolutely love them. Took me a long time to sort out graphics settings, FOV etc but it has all been worth it. I'm still rubbish at racing but it feels 1:1 when sat in the car. Good vid dude.

After watching this video and reading comments along with your 48's, now I wish I had taken more time in shopping, I went with the LG 42" OLED C2's and am struggling trying to match the vesa mounts to Trak Racer T120 triple integrated mounts. I'm grasping at straws at the moment, The Trak Racer mounts aren't compatible but I managed to get the center monitor mounted in an unorthodox way, for the side monitors I ordered two stand alone stands like Aero Veloce is using but I also ordered VESA adapter plates so what ever doesn't work I'll just send back via Amazon.

Hey there. After you helped me a lot with your video and your comments, I wanted to give a quick update: as already written, I had operated my Simrig with 3 55 inch LG OLED TVs and therefore had problems with missing HDMI ports / adapters. Since there will probably not be a 4000 NVidia GPU with 3 HDMI 2.1 ports, I sold my LG TVs with a heavy heart and got the AORUS monitors. It was a hell of work to rebuild everything, but I'm more than happy now: 4K120 HDR VRR/Gsync is finally working and I don't have to spend hours in the Nvidia Control Panel or with adapters anymore :D I can also confirm that the ABL isn't a problem at all when simracing - althoug I downsized from triple 55" now to these triple 48", the difference in size is negligable and with the AORUS monitors my setup finally works perfectly.

Just want to say thanks for this video, it made me finally decide to get three of these monitors for my simrig. Best monitors I have ever tried! I have an Alienware 55", which was great but triple 55" is just too big so I never ended up getting the side screens for that. I tried a 49" Samsung, with a 27" on either side, but that lost out on height.
These really are the perfect setup - colours are even better than the Alienware OLED, easy to use and set up, 3090 gives 3xDP ports for 120hz on all screens, and for Star Citizen or flight sims the proper black levels are amazing. They have really slim bezels, gSync works great, 120hz is a great refreshrate for all my gaming needs.
Only downside is the pixel refresh setup doesn't kick in if you just switch your PC off, you need to actually turn the monitors off with the remote. Thankfully one remote turns all 3 on/off, so no big problem. For burn in all I have done is find a few different triple 4k backgrounds and set them on a rotating slideshow. If I am going to leave the PC for a while I turn the monitors off.

Awesome content! Fundamental research and thorough explanation! Love it! I am struggeling a lot between the 42" and 48". I aslo want use an extension for the wheel. I am not sure if too use:
    a) 42" Triple in front of wheel base as low as possible over wheel extension
    + thinner bezel
    + (slightly less weight)
    + higher ppi
    + cockpit size smaller
    - price
    - Asus only in matte version
    b) 48" Aorus directly behind the wheel
+ very cost efficient solution in direct comarison atm
+ more immersion due to lower postion of screen behind wheel base
    - concern: FOV and benefit of 48" by using wheel extension
    - (older panel version)
    - (cockpit size)
If I would use the 42" I would place the screens directly in fornt he wheel base over the extension (minimum 150mm since shortest for Simagic, else I build my own shorter version) of the shaft . Additionally I would use an external DDU and shift the FoV in the vehicle down. This may also reduce the effect of possbile burn-in by not showing the in DDU on screen but on contrary reduce immersion due tom less in car view. Really struggeling here 🙂
Money aside, If could choose again today just concerning the size, which one would you choose for maximum immersion. Still 48"?
    Cheers,
    Dom

    • @AeroVeloce
      @AeroVeloce  ปีที่แล้ว +2

I would still pick 48. I tried measuring to see if a 42 would work in front of the wheel base like you said but it’s still too big to get the center of the screen at my eye line. I get 210 degrees of FOV with my aorus set up so FOV is more than enough. With the 48 behind the wheelbase, the distance is just right enough that PPI isn’t an issue either. I’m also not a fan of the matte coating on my asus 42 I use at my desk.
      Hope that helps!

As I wrote in some other comments here, I'm running a Triple LG 55" OLED Setup and I couldn't agree more with your review. I bought the TVs because in a review Karl Gosling said that the Starlink DP to HDMI Adapters could do Gsync, what is definitely not correct. So I really love my setup, but I really struggle with the point you mentioned: TVs don't have Displayport, GPUs don't have 3 HDMI 2.1 ports. I had to buy a (expensive) Aorus 3080 card with 2 HDMI 2.1, 1 HDMI 2.0 ports and I am limited to 4k@60 RGB or 4k@120 4:2:0. Gsync works with both setups, but running the setup @ 60Hz feels a waste of capability as well as running it with 4:2:0 chroma subsampling. At the moment there is hope that there will be a RTX 4XXX card with 3 HDMI 2.1 ports, otherwise 3 OLED TVs is absolutely not the perfect solution: at the moment I am restricted to AORUS GPUs, because this is the only GPU series with at least 3 HDMI ports and these cards are still way more expensive than GPUs from other manufacturers. I don't want to give up GSync, because as you stated with Triple 4K Setups you typically don't have always high fps and you need the variable refresh rate, otherwise you have to use DP to HDMI Adapters and play @ 60Hz fixed. So in conclusion I have a very very nice setup, but it could be better with Screens with Displayport - I would switch the setup, but I got used to the screen size of the 55" screens and from my experience switching from bigger to smaller screens doesn't satisfy me ;)

I think Alienware makes a 55 inch OLED but around 3x or 5x the price. Hopefully there’s a more reasonable future 55 inch version for you or a capable 4000 series gpu. This 48" setup really would be perfect for the size. They aren't much pricer than TV's either. Mine is a little bigger using 55's 120hz tv panels. For anyone on TV's, adapters are now 8k 60hz and 4k/120 for the dpi ports....so if you're running a 4k setup you can get over the 60hz bottleneck at 11520x2160 (depending on your gpu obviously). Really at this point either solution would work well though. Highly recommend a 4090 if you're 4k though, otherwise just downscale it to 1440 and it will still look great. Happy racing all. :)

FV43U is gonna have less picture quality compared to FO48U due to the VA panel. You could do the ASUS Pg42UQ if you wanted something slightly smaller at 42 inches but they are pricier.

I might wait for the 48" to come down in price. These were recently released, right? You mentioned they dropped once to $800 or so. Would be a steal. I paid $900 for each of the 55" C1s.
I think ASUS has a 48" monitor that also came out recently also that has a fan to prevent OLED burn-in and can get brighter (?).
I have 4 GT1EVOs that I might use a single 55" LG C1 on since they can each get a single HDMI 2.1 connection. I planned to use the P1X with a triple setup, thinking I'll go with the monitors you're using. Did you ever consider "open environment" setup? The Aorus is a C1 panel but in monitor form. The 43 inch aorus is a VA panel I believe. I’ve seen the Aorus 48 inch go on sale several times recently so if you keep a look out, you might be able to get a deal.
The ASUS I wanna say is newer and based off the C2 but doesn’t seem to be available yet? I can’t seem to find it in stock.

I am flirting with the idea to change the 32" but i have the impression that I would need more than 9 inches (22cm) from the uprights (actually from the back of my Fanatec steering wheel) to have monitors safely behind the rig and do not break em during largeeee jumps in DR2...dunno....whats your opinion? Cos here understand your experience is on a static rig without motion....or am am I wrong...pls correct me if I am ....thanks again buddy...👊😎 (greetings from Greece)

hi, i bought 3 TV oled evo 48" for simracing and i got a lot of trouble because they don't have a DP, but only hdm1. The one with HDMI cable work so well but the other 2 that have DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 a lot of time they when i restart pc they have the "no signal" error so i have to play with graphics and\or disconnect
econnect cable to see all of them again. For now i have problem with nvidia surround too. Sometime the 2 monitor on side on 120hz got a black sreen.
Are you using DP to all of them? Are you getting 120hz on triple with nvidia surround? Did you ever get some error like the one i said?

Still love them. The pop up isn’t really a problem. If I do an endurance race I’ll power cycle beforehand so I know it won’t come up.
I’d say the only downside is they are tough to run particularly in race starts in iRacing so I tend to lose fps until it clears out a bit.

Man i cannot believe i havent come across your channel earlier. So i have a Valve index, DD1, same wheel pedals etc LOL but running a samsung G9 on the sim. Now changing to a triple screen setup.
Tell me how am i wiring up the triples and a desktop ultrawide monitor AND VR without unplugging and replugging cables into my 3090 everytime (surely this will kill the port after a while) Are you running a switch of some sort that does the highter res and also GSync etc?
I am so kicking myself as i wanted to buy The F048s as well but i cant fit them into the corner where the couch is. So now im going to have to get 32s and doing research for models. They are so cheap atm in sydney i can get the F048u for $990AUD so like $650USD and i have to settle for rubbish IPS in comparison. (I know first world problems, it just hurts to know OLED is just there at the same price and i cant use it.
So how are you connecting the triples and VR and a Desktop monitor i presume? my 3090 only has 3x DP and 1 HDMI.
Also one more question, the reason im changing from the G9 to triples is the g9 is just very narrow vertically and even up close i cant see the dash and the road.
Will 32s be better off behind the DD1? or too far for 32s? or closer and i put them right up against the wheel between the base. I just wanted the dash to be realistally behind the wheel like the a real car. (ive been driving in VR for 2 years and struggling to use a monitor so want to set the best i can. (flat is so hard to get used to now)
Man I have almost all the same gear like you so just wanted to get a little bit of help and i plan EVERYTHING before buying and im struggling for a clean all wired setup without plugging in out out stuff everytime i want to change from triples to VR.
Thank you for your time and keep up the awesome vids.

    • @AeroVeloce
      @AeroVeloce  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Thanks for subbing! A lot of the questions you’ve asked are things I plan on talking in future videos. It can get really technical for all the details but a quick run down is I do use a switch that allows me to still run g-sync. I’ll try and get a video out as soon as possible on managing all the screens + vr + a desk set up as well. If you want to use the in car dash with a dd1 and not be obstructed by the wheelbase, the monitor in between the wheelbase and the steering wheel is the best way to go. An important thing to measure in that case is that the center of the screen is gonna be in line with your eyes otherwise the transitions from screen to screen will be completely off. For me that meant 27 inch screens were better than 32’s while also being much sharper due to pixel density.

@@racecrashrepeat it’s a Display port 1.4 bi-directional switch made by BolAAzuL on Amazon (there’s a lot of companies with the same switch). I use two of them to switch between two of the aorus monitors to my two desk monitors. I honestly don’t use my VR very much since getting triples so I’ve yet to try it on the switch but I will tomorrow. The cable quality and length are very important though since it can cause flickering issues on the monitor.
