This video encapsulates so much of the sim racing struggle. "Simple" adjustments and setup changes taking several hours over the course of days. Re-adjusting, scrapping ideas entirely, re-thinking, and executing the "final" configuration. Outstanding work on the rig.
FINALLY someone that does a motion rig the right way, with the monitors attached to the chassis! Every single motion rig build I've seen on TH-cam so far had free standing monitors, as if in real life, the wheel was moving without the rest of the car lmao. I just think that your FOV and camera settings needs a little tweaking cause your mirrors look a bit off but overall, one of the best build I've seen so far! Keep going, you're nailing it.
Youve put in lots of work way more than I would have done. Sometimes listening to comments creates more work and doesn't workout so yeah often the first idea is the best one. After seeing all youve done just confirms why I will buy a Dbox and never mount screens to the rig lol. Looks nice 👌 good job
@AeroVeloce doesn't take away what you have it's just simpler to mount. I was also going to say your shifter and handbrake seemed high to me and you mentioned at the end but your on the way to a great setup for sure
@@taxi615 now that I’ve got everything in a working state. It’s just dialing in that last 10% to make it perfect. I’ll definitely try to come up with a better solution for the shifter.
Great job. Really appreciate you sharing all the BS that some Sim Racers have to go through when modifying the rig. Really gives an insight things you may need like having to buy tools extra hardware and equipment to get things done. 🏁🏁
Sick! Your videos are definatley getting me hyped for the arrival of mine in a few days. I got the Monstertech MPS Pilot seat in Forest Green for mine, along with the P1-X. And a whole lot of flight gear to attach to that bad boy.😂 Those tripples bouncing around like that looks scary! So glad I'm a VR only guy. I couldn't image putting my curved monitor through that level of stress. 😳
Awesome setup mate, totally agree with mounting the monitors on the rig with motion. I run 32s and have stabilised them with some 40 series from the wheel stand upright to the monitor arms and with that weight they work well. Recently tried another 4 actuator system with separate stand and felt totally disconnected. Great content and keep it coming.
Nice build! I have a very similar setup but running vr! I think the biggest challenge is trying to stabilize or reduce vibration through the monitors, might have to reduce some feed back to keep a clear image. I love cranking quite of feed back up, with vr definitely makes managing that alittle easier! Nice work!
Amazing rig! Motion and my trips attached on the rig is something that I’m really considering. Particularly looking at the Sigma Integrale DK2 motion system!
I have 3 of the exact monitors on my motion rig.. if your monitors are still alive after a few months of use I may change my screens to be mounted directly to the rig too. Definitely looks awesome with the whole thing moving around like that. I don't have surge or traction loss so not sure it would be as much of a dramatic change for me though.
I had issues with my monitor side arms for Samsung G7 32´´. I couldnt get them horizontal because the bracket was too weak and monitors too heavy. So I changed the corner brackets with the Simlab triple pivot adapters. They are much more stiff than the original ones even if they dont like that and connect arms extremely stiff together.
Really cool rig! I'm thinking about upgrading from 27" to 32" and get DK2+ motion system, but now I want more after seeing this 😅 can't wait for the next video! Hoping to see alot of content from this monster 😍
The triangles don't work as well without multiple connection points at the intersections. Having one bolt acts as a pivot and won't limit upward motion but probably does help with twist and inward/outward movement. Nice build. It makes my hands raw thinking about using allen keys over and over.
What does something like this cost- I have trip 32’s sure would have to get a new monitor solution- have p1x- no motion/ have been wanting to do the same thing- just want to know what all intakes in the 4 motion but the surge n sways- where do you find these pieces of equipment- I find some but unable to locate other equipment- been a sun for a Tim now- wow the progression in all- Grest stuff - love the journey, Thanks for workin your ass off to share!!! We All Love the Hell out of it✌️👍🤘
@@AeroVeloce IMO with the current and upcoming gen headsets (Quest Pro, Pico 4, Pimax Crystal, Bigscreen Beyond, Quest 3 and Valve Indes 2 and Somnium VR1 probably next year) will make triple-screens more and more a relict of the past, because the visual quality is great, but I don't know how they can compensate such a motion-rig and streaming is another issue. I'm using an 8KX and Pico 4, which are both great, but the 8KX just provides triple-screen alike FOV and so I prefer it even the Pico 4 provides slightly better clarity. The Crystal beats everything today in terms of visual quality, but wearing a 1160 g headset doesn't seem wise with so much motion from the weight inertia and I would suggest a Bigscreen Beyond or Quest Pro with dedicated WLAN-router or Pico 4 as a budget tip. I can't feel any lag or see compression artifacts despite wireless connection with Virtual Desktop, so a DP-connection isn't necessary anymore.
Bro that is so awesome. But teah im a little concerned with the oleds reliability with all that shaking...and i agree we see the monitors shaking but in reality you a shaking in the sake frequency so it wont affect the driver. Good bloody video man. Thanks again.
@@AeroVeloce 50-60 durometer rubber between the metal surfaces is what i would recommend. You can find a roll of aprrox. 1/4” rectangular 60 durometer rubber by searching for “silk screen squeegee”. You could drill holes and cut little washers or place a nice square pad.
Great to see your having fun with it👍. Think that moving screens may be worth it for traction loss as turning sideways to the screen would feel very odd🤢, (luckily not a issue for me as I use a G seat for sway/traction loss). Are you going to high mount rollers for your harness tensioner?
@@AeroVeloce Depends on how your seat fits you, as if the harness top entry holes are below your shoulders the system will crush down on shoulders/spine and get uncomfortable after a while.
Is a Four-Monitor Array doable? I fly open cockpit WW1 aviation sims and I've seen three-monitor setups (like yours) where a center monitor shows the view ahead and a second and third monitors angled back on the sides show the view to either side; blended to merge when you rotate your head to look around with a head tracker like Track IR. I've also seen four-monitor setups with one at top center, but only used to display the desktop; not the sim. QUESTIONS Is it possible to assign a fourth monitor (above the center monitor and angled back) to show an overhead view of the sky in an "open cockpit" aviation simulation? Will the "wrap around" setting for three multiple monitors also see a fourth one (atop center) as "extra real estate" on which the range of the game image can be extended? I'd like to build an array that will do that. Any info?
I don’t do flight sims personally but I’ve never seen a 4 monitor array used for the application you’re describing unfortunately. VR might be the better solution if you want to be able to look around more freely.
Love your channel and videos, but I don't agree with having the TVs moving at all. Way too many disadvantages to very limited if any advantage. Btw, what TVs are those? I remember u had the Matte 48" Monitors, did u change them?
Great video, however I do think you should of left things as they were 😊. It's like the roads , it always feels like they make things worse 😅. Hope it all works out for you 🙏
Top heavy… I interpreted that as having a lot more weight at the front than at the back. Basically the front actuators would be moving a lot of weight and working harder because of the integrated monitors.
I weigh about as much as the monitors so it’s somewhat balanced. But the weight bias would be definitely more towards the rear where I’m sitting since the monitors are not all the way to the front.
Seen a dude lose two fingers cause he was wearing gloves on a bench grinder. Use bare hands or some pliers man. Sorry it triggered me when I saw you wearing gloves on the sander. Awesome setup, hope to get mine started soon.

The actuators are pretty strong. Can easily move hundreds of pounds per actuator.
It’s pretty much always better to having weight as close to center of gravity as possible, ans most of the time as low total weight as possible.
