To me that spaceport reminds me of Knowhere from Infinity War, just the vibe of it kinda being exposed to space but not at the same time, with the fog and various things floating outside.
This definitely looks interesting. Better then the Acolyte or anything on screen since Andor. Edit: Maybe its late enough Old Republic credits are exceptionally valuable because they aren't made any more? like how some old coins are worth a lot more now then when they were minted.
To a new generation of kids comes a new Star Wars. Memories for adults bring back a lot of what we grew up on. I was that kid in 77. Oh, maybe Ashoka finds them, and they become the first students at Luke’s temple? Then we could meet a young Ben Solo. Or they become the Knights of Ren.
#askeck Did the Emperor want to move his capital to the Death Star (1 or 2) and away from Coruscant? The Death Star would be his moving capital and would get him away from the Coruscant public and Bureaucracy.
Doesn't make sense, a capital is the center of a nation's government, in the Galactic Empire it makes sense for Coruscant to be the center as it is close to the galactic core and in an equidistant distance from the outer rim, reducing the strain in administration and military it would have otherwise :V I don't think Sidious would want all the galaxy's politicians coming to the death stars every once in a while either, it would be like if the united states received diplomats in the USS Gerald Ford instead of Washington
I like the space adventure vibe that Skeleton Crew is giving off. A totally new Star Wars series that doesn't involve too much Jedi/Sith, which isn't a bad thing. It reminds me a bit of Solo and Star Wars: Resistance. Definitely has potential so fingers crossed 🤞

Looks pretty good. It's particularly nice to see that there is a normal every day life and not everything is about military conflict, scoundrels and force users. That's one of those weird things about Star Wars that has always bothered me. Everything felt like a bunch of military dictatorships in decline hashing it out and not caring about people's day to day lives...
Maybe that’s because it’s called *Star Wars* and not Star boring-civilian-everyday-life. How dare a story about wars in space *not* focus on the day-to-day banality of the lives of suburban space-californian children?
I’ve been excited for this for years..We need more Star Wars that break out of the usual old planets and memorberries..The kid actors seem pretty cool and relatable..We need a good fun Star Wars..
Seems like a planet that they’re unfamiliar with space travel? maybe they were cut off from the republic at some point? Even kids in the general Star Wars universe are familiar with ships and hyperspace, etc, and my impression is the kids totally stumbled onto the ship with no idea of what it even is. Maybe the “old republic credits” were just their normal money from home…
It actually looks fun. I have been disappointed in the previous star wars disney stuff lately, but a goonies style star wars deal sounds like a great premise.
I'm personally calling shenanigans on the 'not a Max Rebo'. I'm willing to bet they started out with him being one of Rebo's race, until someone really looked into it and saw the strange 'canon' anatomy of the race (the hands are actually the feet), and so it was changed. This being Disney SW, though, they could just as easily have said that he's still one of Rebo's race, as their 'official' appearance is in "Legends" now.
"Mostly unknown planet" "suburban, peaceful", sounds like the planet is the Star Wars' version of a "flyover state" or "flyover country" here in the U.S. Say, Space Peoria (Illinios), average, boring and "normal".
that engine looking bit near the middle almost looks like someone saved a republic era y wing with all the panels and whatnot. itd be really cool to see those again
If Star Wars fans were capable, at large, to enjoy shows for what they are, rather than what they want them to be, then there would be no analysis, and ObiWan and BoBF would have been "successful"
3:36 Eck, I interpret his comment as saying it is a planet that no one outside of production knows. Totally new creation so they audience shouldn’t have preconceived notions, and having a peaceful, relatively normal planet would far beyond what we have seen before
#askeck Do you think that in the lore, both legends and canon, too many jedi survived Order 66? When I first saw the original movies I thought that it was very striking that Obi Wan and Yoda were literally the only two jedi left in the entire galaxy and it was important that Luke destroy the sith because he was literally the last jedi. To me it seems as though so many jedi survived Order 66 that the impact of the Obi Wan and Yoda saying that Luke is the last jedi in the original movies has been severely diluted but I would like to hear your thoughts.
I understand what you mean. But a way I've heard it explained that I like is that if you have 10,000 Jedi, and Order 66 was 99.9% effective, that still leaves about 100 jedi (quick math and it's not a skill of mine so sorry if that's wrong). Then you think about how big the galaxy is, and 100 or so Jedi surviving and hidden among hundreds of planets doesn't sound that crazy. Plus Vader and the inquisitors kill more Jedi between the Prequels and the Original Trilogy. Narratively from the Original Trilogy's view it feels odd, but statistically it makes sense.
@@ryan52743 buff that number of potential hiding spots to over a million worlds and then you have a good grasp on just how mind-boggling it'd be to try locating ~100 individuals in a whole ass galaxy...
They have tried to make it so that during the OT it is only Yoda, Kenobi, Luke and Leia. But the reasons they come up with are getting more and more "technically". Ahsoka was lost on the Sith planet. Ezra was in another galaxy. Grogu was somewhere? Cal was on his secret planet And in legends they made games/books with new jedi characters who were just in hiding because they wanted jedi in their stories But I do agree both took away from the idea that Luke and Leia were the only hope which is clearly what the OT was portraying. It's not about the statistics of finding everyone because it's Yoda who says there is another. And the OT definitely makes Yoda seem powerful enough in the force that he'd sense if multiple Jedi survived
Right away this looks far better than Acolyte. When the Acolyte trailer hit, I was very pessimistic. Nothing about it grabbed me. This trailer does in a lot of different ways. I'm looking forward to this.
I think that the pirates are looking for the planet where the children came from. And the money is from their home planet, which can be said to have remained in the time of the prosperity of the old republic.
I think the same about Jude Law's character and I kind of suspect how he's going to develop. The general vibe feels great, The Goonies meet Star Wars. If they have played their cards well, it can become an instant classic.
I think what Jon Watts means: The home planet in this trailer is like a random California suburban town or a town in Indiana or Ohio. Some place that nobody outside of there really thinks about. Not a secret or a hidden place. Just relatively unknown.
Its literally Goonies in Space, and that's not a bad thing at all! Granted its about time that a Goonies style show did turn up. Hopefully they have some interesting easter eggs. #askeck We see a school in the Skeleton Crew trailer. However, what do they teach there? @loganwendigo937 It's soo childish and kiddie. And it has nothing to do with the overall story of Star Wars but they will try to somehow make it into one by loosely fitting in certain things, characters, and locations. It's Goonies in Star Wars and again it's for a very niche audience. Literally take out Star Wars from the concept and you'll see your average Guardians of the Galaxy and Stranger things vibe. And while individually those movies and series may be fun, it feels out of the scope of what Star Wars is supposed to be. There's a reason why George Lucas didn't really want his worlds to look like your average place on Earth. But now there are suburbs in a galaxy far far away. The vast majority or the Star Wars audience isn't even into this. This in my opinion looks like something the executives at Disney though it would be cool because it's never been done before in this universe without realizing why it hasn't been done nor if it should be done. So I would imagine once it comes out it won't have as many views as they would have hoped for the series. Now if you're wondering what the majority for the Star Wars audience would like, then I would say the Knights of the Old Republic cinematic made in live action and have a deep compelling story. That's what the vast majority of the fandom would love. Star Wars really isn't that complicated. Just give the fans what we want and have been asking for years and we'll be happy that's it.
The special effects in the second trailer of the same shots that were in the first trailer were noticeably improved.
