Can confirm, the T-80 is amazing. I have the same one, and mainly use it for project cars 3, Tony Stewart’s all American racing, and mostly just cruising about in need for speed heat. It’s pretty nice, but the pedals have trouble sitting still, especially on carpet.
All though, the one that i bought broke from NO USE, I used it for about 2 weeks then put it on a shelf. When I took it out again, the wheel was unresponsive.
There's a non licenced version of the thrustmaster T80. All components are exactly the same but it's about 20-30 bucks cheaper due to not having the ferrari design (who cares) so I'd recommend having a look at that one too.
The Hori Racing Wheel Apex is a good starter wheel for beginning. its better than a controller for racing games and really adds a new, fun experience. I've had one for a few months now and its still my favourite budget wheel. it looks nice too!
I use a SuperDrive SV650. Totally worth it for 75 USD. The rumble is nice and it's wide compatibility is a plus. It has a rubberized grip, decent heft + wheel size. Similar bungie cord system like a T80. Minor deadzone, but nothing hindering. A nice 270 degree rotation too. Would love to see a review!
my only issue with the trustmaster wheel is that the plastic that holds the bungi cords in place for centering the wheel is pretty thin and can snap easily if your rough with the wheel
NOTE: any force feedback mentioned in this video IS NOT REAL FORCE FEEDBACK I know he knows the t-80 is a bungee cord system but the “dual motor force feed back system “ in the pxns and hori ( for the hori I forgot if it that same thing but I think) are not real force feedback back
Thanks man that was confusing, I have the ferari non-force feedback wheel, and I really don't like it much, got the Tmx and we good... Force feedback is a must for sim racing.
My PXN broke after I took a sharp turn. It popped a spring in charge of the return sequence, so it doesn't return to the center now, but I still use it. I might get a Logitech or something
That PXN wheel is a rebranded Madcatz fpr the xbox 360 fron 12 years ago or so. It is actually worse due to reduced degrees of rotation (180 vs the original 270). The rim is a bit different though... PS: none of these have force feedback
@rotatorix no used market for such things in my country, unfortunately. If I go for a FFB wheel, the first option after V9 will be G29 which is more than double the price and it is the entry level of FFB wheels, besides, I am a beginner and this will be my first steering wheel so I don't know really.
@@armenberj9158 in that case, I hardly recommend you wait and save money for a couple of months and go for the G29. I have used it for 3 years and it is a great bundle, pedals are also quite good. Run away from this crappy plasticky stuff
I recommend completely skipping all of these and spending that bit extra. If you chose one of these you will find that they lack any real force feedback and you will grow out of them and want something better in a very short time.
@I Better go for thrustmaster t300rs, logitech g29 is a joke, even g923 isn't that good. Don't get me wrong, i'm not a thrustmaster fanboy, even i was a g923 user, but yeah logitech g series is just really not that good. Logitech g series was a gear driven steering wheel, so it doesn't run so smoothly and sounds really noisy compared to belt driven steering wheel like thrustmaster, the power amount of force feedback on logitech g series are so weak compared to thrustmaster, even t150rs pro has a better feel and better force feedback than the g923 ever had.
Just throwing it out there that a super budget option (for PC) you can still commonly find in the used Market is the Logitech driving force GT for around $50. Force feedback. 900 degree rotation. Two pedal. Plethora of assignable buttons for games like forza that need all that stuff. Paddle shifters Has an integrated +, - slap shifter that can double as a super poor man's hand break. (Not sure if it's still possible, but you used to be able to swap the peddle set for something with 3 pedals)
Got my Rampage v900-s 2 hand for only 40 bucks, IT has 900 degree steering angle and also 270 mode, it has very nice force feedback, if I’m being honest, it’s best for begging
My personal opinion is at this price level it is better to go with xbox controller or PS alternative. The usable wheels starts at price level 180 EUR like TM T128. I own TM Ferrari 458 Italia (Similar to T80) and it never worked properly. Dead zone after some time, damaged mounting screw after few uses, no force feedback. Actualy I did better times with xbox controller in any race sim. Now I own T300 and it is completely different experience.
thank you for this video! i wanted to get my brother one for his birthday and thought about getting a cheap one from amazon since all good wheels seemed to be $200+ but now i can get him something good!

If you are thinking of using it with a Nintendo Switch, you should buy a Hori steering wheel. PXN also supports Switch, but you can't assign analog sticks to pedals. It means that the pedal becomes a digital input only for on and off.
what would be a good option of a steering wheel base for someone who would like to have 2 or 3 different steering wheel styles (normal, F1, Gt3) but without breaking the bank?
yeah the TH8A shifter is quite expensive, honestly worth upgrading your wheel to a t150 pro or a t300rs since that comes with the T3PA pedals, if you're going to spend that much on the shifter that is
i just got the hori racing wheel apex for 22 pounds and it's great, for that price i literally can't complain, there's nothing else better at this price
I have the cheap pxn . Yeah not super immersion but good choice for a first wheel so you know how much you'll use it. I use mine everyday and will be upgrading soon.
I would recommand buying used wheels at this budget. I bought an used Logitech Driving Force Pro for less than $100,it workes on every game I play, ETS2/ATS,Asseto Corsa,Beamng without any issue or extra hassel, the force feedback works great in these games, too. It's amazing for a wheel designed for PS2 to work this well on modern PC and games. but I would recommand the Driving Force GT...it cost a little more, but got faster force feedback and bigger wheel.
