      First wheel was the official Microsoft xbox 360 wheel. Then a very faulty Thrustmaster tx, and then when the guy who was supposed to fix it stole it, i downgraded to a very faulty Thrustmaster tmx. Now i have nothing. Fun times.

    I’ve started with a T150, after a couple of years I upgraded to a T300GT , which is an excellent option for me still today if you don’t want to go for a DD , now I have with my T300 an acelith MC mod rim, a Ferrari 599x rim, TH8A shifter and the T-LCM pedals with the loadcell .. will stay like that till thrusmaster makes an “affordable “ DD or will have to change to an other ecosystem in some years

    I simply use a G25 given to me by a mate for free many many years ago, on my boyfriend’s desk! I’ve spent all my money on upgrading our gaming PC, a Quest2 VR headset, and DLC. See no need to upgrade my wheel until it breaks, I still get top 5 results in RF2 races with it! Even then I might get a second hand G29 or something 😂

    Still running a t300Gt several years later. The wheelbase and wheel itsefl are simply good enough. I don't feel they're holding me back at all. The pedals however are fairly weak. The T3pa brake pedal leaves a lot to be desired.
    I think the T300 pairs very well with the SHH Newt shifter.

    My first wheel, that I still use for ETS2/ATS is the Logitech Driving Force GT (2007!). It was the predecessor of the G27.
    It was gear based, and came with an up/down stick shift permanently molded on the right side, as well as padel shifters that did have the large padel wings. People still sell the DYI mounts to put padels on is, or print your own. IT's archaic by today's standards and the pedals aren't great, and only 2. But it has done me OK until now. I drifted more to the flight games than racing, so it does the trick.

  • @DCFHazardRebornChannel
    @DCFHazardRebornChannel 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Price variance from region/country to country really plays a big role here. Where I am you cannot find a G29 lower than 330 euro. Whereas the T128 is at 180 to 200. Its the clear winner from the two wheels hands down for that price difference.

    Around a year ago I got my T300 RS GT set and a TH8A shifter for €415 total, adding some cheap QoL upgrades from Etsy and 3DRAP, it has been a great experience and value so far and totally worth it in order to see whether "this whole sim thing is for me".

    Be aware of the Logitech G29 noise level - sometimes gears are producing clanking noise like it's a jackhammer (when I setup it to my desk - my neighbors downstairs got real mad, they thought I was doing apartment repairs in the middle of the night).
    Great wheel otherwise for its money, served me well for more than 5 years and is still going.

      Sad but most of these people have a deal with them or work in some way with Fanatec. That's why the ignore those problems. I just commented the same thing. I disregard there tips when I hear them push Fanatecs garbage as number 1. They also seem to find imaginary deals for Sim Equipment. There pricing is way off when you start looking to buy Sim gear based off the information provided.

    Good job on the video. It’s so hard to select your first hardware. PC or PlayStation compatibility? I was focused on PC so I started with a Thrustmaster TMX Pro bundle. Fanatec is great I’m sure but lately their warehouse delays and lack of communication and proprietary ecosystem are major negatives. Moza I think would be the best starting point. Personally I upgraded to a Cammus DDWB 15, wheel, and pedals bundle under $1000 US. I recently added the Moza KS wheel and Moza hub. This hobby ain’t cheap!

      I went for the Cammus C5 and didn't think I'd regret it, but then I felt the call of Gran Turismo 7. Having so much fun with that, even at 1080p 60FPS "low settings" that I almost wish I'd shelled out more for a PS-compatible DD.
      C5's an unbeatable value, I'm gonna hope we get a GT7 PC port sometime. That would be the friggin' best, man.

    I went with the CSL pedals with the Loadcell upgrade, as I'm planning on modding the clutch and brake with Race Sim Engineering kits, to get that two stage clutch feedback. Also, I need to add some rubber pads onto the pedals stoppers, as they are too loud when you Toe-heel it.
    This is my thirt wheel so far. My last one is a G29 which will be sold to a friend from the office.

    Does anyone have any other suggestions of things like that i should look at? My only requirements are that it has to be able to fit in a small space (ideally folding for that reason), needs to have a shifter plate and needs to be more of a budget option (max around £300)

      I picked up a NLR GT Lite and a g923 on sale on black Friday here in the States. I can't speak for the pro but I've loved my GT Lite thus far, so I'd imagine the pro would be just as good. What’s the difference between G920 and G923?

  • @t1ny03

    Hello - very long boring story cut short - I've been using my Rog strix/scar beast of a laptop (nvidia rtx 3080, ryzen 9 5900hx with 1080p 300hz 3ms panel) - hooked up to 165ms 1440p 27" external monitor via usb-C to display port for highest frame rate (165hz,whereas hdmi limited to either 60 &/or 120hz). Been using monitor with folding playseat & logitech G29. Absolutely thoroughly enjoyed it but sold a fortnite ago and regretted since.
    I'm due an upgrade though & felt as such before getting rid. Question is; What do I go for?! I'm in two minds between fanatec dd with Loadcell pedals or simply thrustmaster rs gt & t3pa pedals.. I used to play assetto corsa & iracing. Not fastest racer in world yet but struggled with fov & only practiced around 6month - consistent top half finisher. I don't know the differences between all of the different fanatecs csl / elite(s) and versions Vs.. the pros or cons.. nor pedals..I have the knowledge of gear driven < belt driven < direct drive. And load cell pedals better than none, but many other factors too of course
    Reality of situation is was moments away from setting off to pick up thrustmaster t300rs gt with stand tou drag upto a chair - 4 months old 200gbp - this morning. Didn't happen as was debating...Then decided YOLO!! Was in the process of setting off this evening for a fanatec DD wit load cell pedals and booster kit in a folding next level racing seat for around 600 this eve - BUT - somebody beat me to it.
    Atfirst was totally gutted as I was impulse buying and we all know how excited we get as MEN... but maybe uts a sign to just stick with thrustmaster, enjoy the upgrade from my G29/G920 and enjoy the VR too as never used before... THEN upgrade again next yr or something to fanatec..?? I'm just a bit stuck and chronic overthinker, been frozen wirhbdecision paralysis all day!! Hoping for advice on best wheels/pedals, maybe in order and / or pros cons of the mid/top end range. Then there is the moza r9 which I have been advised to go for but I'm aiming to buy pre owned & not many about.
    Another thing to potentially note is I aim to purchase and use with quest 3 VR headset.
    Any advice taken, very much appreciated & thankyou for reading!

    Before I even watch the video, if there is any non DD wheel recommended to be bought new, don't listen that it is well worth it to put the extra 100€/$/what ever it is in pounds. And nothing without at least 900degrees of rotation, and force feedback falls in to that category as well.

I got it second hand for 200€ and its WAY better then a g29 in ffb and pedals, if you are looking for a cheap but solid entry i praise for the t300 as a perfect first purchase. Not that bad and a perfect step before DD, still looking for some Time using it before upgrading, been having it for about 4 months now. IMO the perfect Non DD setup

    I recently got a PS3 from a family member and I bought a secondhand Thrustmaster T300 to get my son into sim racing on GT5. Can't do in any cheaper, right? But the T300 does not work with GT5. The conrol buttons on the wheel work, but I can't use the wheel. (it worked on PS5 when I bought it) It is set on PS3, it calibrates, etc. But it does not function. I can't seem to find the right guidelines. Anyone can help me out PLEASE???? My son wants to race..

    i see the lag on the monitor , what none of you do is measure lag , and measure force ,there is a way to to measure force , it can be done , Arduino can be programed to move them , force meter , and measure the force . Its done all the time on motors . It takes a community that you have , some IT guys and there you go , you can get a lot of different parameters measured .

    jesus christ, I sim race since 2005 and I always prefer going for cheaper wheels, they are strudy never fail, despise the low forcefeeback and the cheap plastic look, NEVER HAD THE IDEA to get a DD some luxury pedals and stuff, so why the fuck is the low budget hardware is dedicated for "learners" ? it is not.

    Don’t trust fanatic at the moment they are at best good and at worst a scam. You might not even get your wheel, if you do it could be broken and Goodluck getting it fixed.

  • @pilkjaer
    @pilkjaer 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    G29 is an excellent starting point to see if you are going to like it or not. The size of the wheel is rather small, the gear grind is a bit loud, and the optional shifter is just a plastic toy. I had a nice week playing with it. After that I returned it and got myself a direct drive setup.
    Mind, that more expensive setup won't make you faster. But it will make it more comfortable/enjoyable/realistic.

    • @EarthIsFlat456
      @EarthIsFlat456 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      More expensive setup CAN make you faster.

    • @pilkjaer
      @pilkjaer 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@EarthIsFlat456 Technically, yes. But how much faster!? 0.1s? I think this is not relevant for most of the people. If you are the top pro-racers then you probably have sponsors and can afford more expensive gear. But for "average Joe" G29 can be sufficient. At least as a start. Just check Suellio's videos.
      I hated the plastic shifter and gear mechanism of G29 so for me it was a no brainer to upgrade to the direct drive wheel. But not everyone has space and money for that and then G29 can be a very good starting point. Everything is better than a controller :D
      It also depends on what you plan to do with your rig: drive Forza and lap Verstappen with F1 bots OR drive rF2 or iRacing. Just for having fun any setup is better than keyboard/controller. But if you are serious about simulation then better gear will give your more immersion and feedback. But then, again, it's a small % of a small %.

    • @EarthIsFlat456
      @EarthIsFlat456 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@pilkjaer It can be a lot more than 0.1s depending on the setup and don't forget that during a race especially a long one the difference adds up. Load cell pedals for example can really improve your pace and consistency. A better wheel base gives you more information and can help you for example catch a slide faster. For people that aren't particularly interested in sim racing and only play a few hours a week, yes a G29 will suffice. For anyone else, a belt-driven wheel or better and a pair of load cell pedals are recommended.

    Bro when a wheel is more expensive then your ps5 its not worth it.
    The wheel would never go through the kind of development, marketing, the ps5 does.
    The wheel is just a motor connected to a wheel controlled by a piece of software. Def not worth 1k plus
