  • The day started out with a plan for a solo trip back up Buckland Spur to Tomahawk Hut and then return via Wildhorse Gap Track. Some rain in the week preceding saw to it that, that, just wasn't going to be the case.
Instead I met up with Paul, Jenny and their buddy from QLD, Mark and we tackled Evans Creek Track, the 'easy' way from Lake WIlliam Hovell to Tomahawk Hut.
All in the effort to get the Queenslander to the epic Craig's Hut!

I'm not a great fan of the 76, 78 and 79 but the sound of them at full song going up that slippery hill is their one saving grace.

The mightly V8, be interesting to see how the 2.8l Ineos would have handled that hole!🧐

You wouldnt want to be by yourself at that mud point, didn’t seem to be much to winch off.

Great little drive that but geez a little bit of moisture on that Track makes a HUGE difference. Just curious ...... is that river crossing that has been 'rebuilt' for Fireys access ...... is it the Buckland spur Track coming back the opposite way from its intersection with Evans Track? Cheers.

Funny how a little water can make things so different. You did well to get up there but then again a Navara & a Ranger, They were never going to make it lmfao.
