Good morning Yvan.
Easy install. Even easier wipe off. 1 hr safe drive-away time. You’ve got my attention.
I’ve been doing automotive glass installation here in Western Canada since January 1/88, (probably installed around 100,000 windshields and fixed around 30,000 chips) experimented with different glass coatings since 2016 and therefore have tried a bunch. All but 2 don’t work longer than 2 months. Yours would be interesting to try. The last coating you said I should try has worked out pretty good.
You are very correct about the effective longevity of the coating but I found that polishing the glass is a must(unless glass is new) to greatly extend its life. Personally, I found that Ceriglass and the white/red rayon glass pad works best. Another point, bug splats and tree sap are incredibly easier to clean on a coated windshield.
Your other products have worked well for me I can only imagine this glass coating will be “top notch”.
Thank you to you & Pan for this video.
Thank you.

Please make the C6 ceramic hydro glass available to the public. I applied Glassparency to my car and it lasted about 3.5 years before it started to fail. I contacted Glassparency and told them I applied it myself and tried to get them to sell it to me. They said no. The professional shop charged $75 for the front window. My cost was $I0. I followed the instructions and did just as good a job as the pro.
I don’t want a repeat performance in another 1.5 years when it starts failing. Please make it available to the public (or at least me)😂
My dad, who died of cancer, had really bad eyes and was going blind for about 25 years before passing away. I made it a point to make sure he had the cleanest glass possible. I coated his windows with Rain-X for that 25 years.
I want the best possible vision during rain. Thanks Pam, you’re the man.

@@diydetailofficialwhen you say no toppers needed. Can I ask what a topper would be? Is that referring to not using Ceramic Gloss or Quick Beads? If so will those products hurt the ceramic coatings or the window protection
@@diydetailofficialwhat is a good quality windshield washer fluid that will not harm your painting coatings.
If the coating is working as intended, I wouldn't apply anything on top of it. Just do regular washing of your car, and it should be fine. If you apply toppers, you are altering the properties of the coating underneath. Keep that in mind.
An honest real world response to the longevity of glass coating...way too many variables...

I'm really glad they made the glass coating available to everyone. As Yvan himself recently said, detail shops need to stop worrying about DIYers, because we're never going to pay them to detail our cars anyways.
I'm sure C6 Hydro Lite is a great coating, but I still have that FOMO feeling and want the pro version. I understand that Yvan doesn't want people complaining because they have high spots they can't get off...but I wish there was still a path for DIYers to obtain the pro version (perhaps purchasing directly from an installer at whatever markup they want).
Good points Jeff!

You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing.
A new car is never new until it's properly detailed.
- at the factory, the paint defects are often corrected quickly by rotary polishing which can leave marks and holograms, so polishing corrects those, before you lock that in long term with a ceramic coating for example.
- vehicles are then transported by truck, train and boat so they are exposed to the elements, industrial fallout, brake dust, rail dust, etc
- vehicles are often left at boat docks (when transported by boat) or in exterior parking lots for weeks or months, again being exposed to the elements
- at the dealership, the vehicles are almost always poorly prepped using the same dirty water that was used for all the cars on a given day, and poor washing and drying methods leading to swirls and scratches
- at the dealership, a layer of cheap wax or paint sealant is usually applied to attempt to make the paint glossy prior to delivery. It's crucial to remove any previous protection before you apply a ceramic coating, as coatings need to bond directly to a virgin clear coat.
If you only plan on applying a regular carnauba wax or paint sealant though, you could decide to skip machine polishing, as those protectants can be applied over existing protection and it's not as crucial to prep the paint as well.
I explain all of this in this popular video: th-cam.com/video/QgoyrC-5CMc/w-d-xo.html
So you can better visualize the new car prep process, here are the steps I perform on a brand new car for my customers:

How lucky you are to get yvan to install C6 on your car 🤩, the water behaviour is totally insane 😱.
Thank you.
A 30ml bottle will do 10 windshields but as an enthusiast who’s only going to do my own windshield so what’s the shelf life on this once opened? Up till recently I didn’t even realise that ceramic coatings only have a shelf life once opened of 3 to 6 months and that was on detailing dogma where Ivan has appeared on as well. Just need a bit more clarification on this please and thank you.
I have been talking about shelf life of products and coatings for years in many of my videos. Once opened, coatings are good for a few months at best. How long is truly unknown though. Most say 2-3 months max. If unopened, most detailing chemicals are good for 1-2 years at best on shelves, as long as they're kept in stable conditions and not frozen.
C6 Ceramics Hydro Glass has a 1 year shelf life. Get together with a few friends, apply now to your cars, and in a year top up the protection by decontaminating the windshield with DIY Detail Rinse Less Wash and our Perforated Synthetic Decontamination Towel , clean with DIY Detail Panel Prep and apply.
@diydetailofficial thank you for the reply. It's a good idea to gather some friends round and do a few windshields at a time. Love all diy products I've bought so far by the way. I've found them to be some of the best ever. Your ceramic coatings are simply incredible.
Id love to know how to clean this since i live in a very bug area. Something called love bugs. So how do you clean a bug infused windshield after you put this on? Thanks.
Clean it as you normally would, but it’s easier to clean
Very impressive. I just applied Stoner's to two cars and was very disappointed in its performance.

Hi Pan!
Any recommendations for coating raw aluminum bumpers and fenders for a project?
Use DIY Detail Metal Ceramic Coating.
I’d love to have something like this. Does this help fill micro etching in the glass?
I was wondering the same thing. I have a few of the smallest "nicks", so small I really only notice when driving into the sun, it would be great if this would fill that in a bit.
@@themark3836 yep. I have an older car with just allot of hairline scratches and pits . Like you, when driving into the sun it turns my view into a mess. Love to have a fix that would work without replacing the windshield.
Unfortunately it will not fill.
I wonder how this compares to the good old Ultra Glaco. Except for the required hardening time, the two products seem very similar in application and water repellant properties.
Most glass specific coatings are applying in a similar fashion. But they're not all equal in performance. Ultra Glaco is my current top favourite for its price and durability, so time will tell how this more expensive C6 Hydro Glass does.

When coating the side windows and rear windshield on a fairly new car would you say polishing the windows first is unnecessary?
I would at least clean the car thoroughly, clay the glass, use a paint prep spray and then apply the glass coating. Polishing isn't as crucial on new glass, unless there was a previous wax on there.

Hey Pan, when polishing glass using rayon pad with ceriglass, should I clean the pad between polishing or just add more polish to the pad and move to a new area? Should I polish dry or with wet glass/pad? Thanks +can't wait to try Hydro glass!!!
You can do the entire windshield without having to clean the pad really. It's not paint, it's just glass. Just use the dry pad, put some glass polish on there, and polish. Don't overthink the moment.

Public of course! I would be willing to try it. I did a Flyby forte coating on my windshield and I topped it off with reload 2.0 but after just a couple of weeks the water repealing is almost gone. I must use the wipers now or else I see nothing. A question for you @PanTheOrganizer: Was it a mistake topping the windscreen with reload 2.0 or is it poorly performing because of the application? What can I do about it? Top it again with reload 2.0 or redo from scratch with let's say C6. From Québec too btw!
Remove that and start from scratch with a good glass specific coating.
C6 Hydro Glass is available to everyone. Here: bit.ly/4codwGr
Or Soft99 Ultra Glaco is another great option. See my video here: th-cam.com/video/usdM-TrT7fg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0C-57LN8EiMW_A8B
I want the formulas the professionals use. But, I want them at a Walmart price.
Consumers are so fickle. LOL
We can give you one of the 2
I'm drooling, lol.
Thank you
Would vacuum sealing the opened container extend the shelf life? I have a chamber vacuum sealer which enables me to seal the jar without sucking out any liquid from the jar.
Once opened, the chemical reaction already started, so I doubt vacuum sealing it would do any difference. But perhaps Yvan can answer this.
No change
My question is, say you get a chip in the winshield, and get that spot repaired, is it okay to reapply the coating to the damaged spot?
You'd have to ask Yvan his opinion. I would say yes.
Yes
I tried the Glassparency coating when they had a promo with your channel many years ago and LOVED that coating however it being certified only really sucks. If you have the ability to make it pubic ABSOLUTELY 100%!!!! I get the concept of unqualified people giving your product a bad name but if you raise the price a little (especially with a product like that with claims of 10 vehicles!) That way the people searching for it know they are getting a quality product for a good price if you base it on a per vehicle cost
It's available to everyone. Here: bit.ly/4codwGr
Thank you
Can I use this for my glass shower doors?
Yes absolutely!
I bought some of this already but am confused about the marketing. You have Hydro which is supposed to be a lifetime coating, and if you get high spots it needs to be sanded off, but on glass its worse than a new glass coating that they cant even say should last at least one or two years. Would this also then mean you shouldn't apply the paint coatings on glass at all?
Keep in mind that clear coat is a completely different surface compared to glass. It's harder to evaluate how long a coating will last on the windshield, as you can't control how people use their wipers. The mechanical abrasion from the wiper blades wears any coating down over time. Having a glass coating should mean you use your wipers less, but some people don't get that and continue using their wipers constantly, and so that wiping action back and forth eventually weakens any coating.
Also, I typically find that glass-specific coatings do better on glass surfaces, compared to some paint coatings that can be applied on glass. Also, not all paint coatings can be applied on glass, so check with the instructions of your specific coating first.
Can you use the DIY rinseless as wiper fluid? In warm climates of course.
Yes
Pan, how does this stack up to Ultra Glaco ? Could they be used together? Would one be a topper for the other or would that just be overkill?
Time will tell. Don’t mix glass coatings together.
Come on, make it public
It is now
It's available to everyone. Here: bit.ly/4codwGr
I agree making detailing products professional only is stupid
@@nicholaswicks3077agreed, even with the coatings for C6

Can it also be used on all glass types? Such as shower glass enclosure to prevent hard water stains?
According to Yvan, yes.
Yes
Hey Pan. Would this work on exoshielded/protected windshield? Would it give the same protection as compared to glass? If not- do you have any recommendations on protected windshield? Thank you.
I have never worked with a car that had that so I don’t have any recommendations unfortunately. Perhaps Yvan will see this question and reply.
Exo shield is a form of PPF, use C6 Ceramics Hydro Lite for that.
