One thing that slipped by during the PPE segment was hearing protection. Pan does know about this as I’ve seen him use hearing protection in his videos. Like he said, it may seem dorky, but it does make a difference. Air dryers, polishers, and vacuums are loud, and we do expose ourselves more than we realize. Great work as usual, Pan!
Thanks! And yes you are right, ear protection is also important. When I use my blow dryer to dry my vehicle, I wear ear protection as prolonged exposure to loud noises can affect your hearing long term.
I worked in the auto body repair trade from age 17 - 30 (I'm 56 now) and can attest whole heartedly to the need to protect one's hearing while using industrial tools and machines. I will live with Tinnitus for the rest of my life in large part because of the damage done during my time in that trade :(
Blow out an interior in direct sunlight sunlight and you'll see all the dust you actually get into the air. You can more than imagine what goes into your airways.
That’s one of the greatest advantages of us as humans; we may not live long, but the knowledge handed down can stay and even evolve from each new generation.
I've been watching your videos for years and I've corrected my technique as I learned from you. I have the most beautifully detailed cars according to family, friends, and neighbors. Thank you,
Hey Pan great video again. One thing that I would like to add is about microfiber drying towels. I've used 2 towels for about a year and I would use them with turtle wax flex wax and I did notice that the wax will not wash out. Even after several soaking in rags to riches they still don't dry like new. So I recommend to use dedicated towels for toppers or spray waxes and use different towels for when you're not going to use a topper. I hope this makes sense because it didn't dawn on me as to why my rag company towels didn't work anymore even after taking full care
@@07wrxtr1That’s rather wasteful isn’t it? I don’t care much about the finance part but more about the environmental aspect. I don’t have a solution but if someone else here does, that would be great!
I agree with it all, I'm all in with everything. I've also seen some horrible detailing jobs at some dealerships I've worked at. I'm in the same boat as you, man. I've been doing electrical work for my dad's company, and I'm just not that into it. Let alone try to learn to run it, there's just too much Unfortunately, the detail market is a bit oversaturated, and i assume it would be very hard to get a business rolling in my area.
Learn more with every video, thank you. I plan this year to paint correct my 2018 Hyundai for the first time and am realizing how much work i have ahead... no short cuts. Fwiw on the PPE portion, using gloves all the time can also lead to skin conditions. A good idea for many is to wear thin cotton gloves under the nitrile or latex gloves.
Hi Pan, one of your best videos yet! I really like how you went above the beginner mistakes, what you mentioned here it is really useful even for us that do this for a living. My suggestion is to put more emphasis on the chemicals we should use under the sun. Have an amazing New Year and thank you for making me a better and more professional detailer.
I ordered rag company towels and listen to whatI am told washed them all prior to use normal wash, double rinse hug and. Air dry and they were the worse towels I have ever used And ordered tide Pure at your recommendation and it does a great wash you can feel
Pan, you take the time to explain things in all your videos. Plus if someone asks a question you get back to them. I have asked questions in other channels and they don't answer it and they say in their videos they answer them all. Keep up the great work!!!
Another great video Pan! Happy New Year to you and our friends in Canada.. The mistake about the interior glass struck me the most... Can't tell you how many times, I've washed or detailed a car and the interior glass(especially the windshield takes 2-3 times before it's perfect. It speeds things up by taking the extra time/step to "clean" the windshield/glass with a detergent like Dawn or a high alcohol scrub, THEN using a product like Stoner or your favorite brand of glass cleaner.
Hi Pan, happy new year. Another valuable learning and guiding video from you . Please don't stop sharing new tips and others. We always ready to view more. Thanks and highly appreciated😊
Excellent video Pan as I remember struggling with many of these mistakes. When I first got back into detailing the confusion between a ceramic coating and wax was real. It took me a long time to realize glass cleaner does not degreaser the interior glass even though I knew this as a teenager. Did I struggle with applying to many layers of protection too. Have a happy new year Pan and thank you for all of your hard work!

just coated a new car without polishing. i was going to but client wanted to save $ and was fine with the almoat perfect paint. did all the decon , iron, clay towel, panel prep then coated with Gyeon Pure Evo and glass with Gyeon View .. was a breeze 💪
Exactly. As long as the paint is properly cleaned, decontaminated and prepped, polishing isn’t absolutely required. A coating just needs to bond to a surface free of contamination and any previous protection. Happy new year!

Wow wash micro fiber towel before using, I never thought of that! Makes sense how I got small swirl marks even when using a brand new micro fiber towel !!
Just another fantastic video from you Pan. Newer cars seem to offer-gas on the interiors more than older cars for obvious reasons. I will try your degreasing idea before finishing with Invisible Glass…particularly with newer cars. Thanks for the tip!
Great information! I have just finished a proper ceramic spray coating on my neglected car. For the first time in my life I used both iron remover and clay and was stunned over how contaminated the paint was. Since my car has a silver colour it is very forgiving so after the clay I was happy with the finish and applied the coating without polishing. For me the most important thing is the protection, not 100% finish. Thank you from Sweden /Robert

@@PanTheOrganizer I’ve been slowly but steadily working on recovering the beauty of my Tacoma truck (Indigo Ink Pearl color). Last year, after the youtube algorithm recommended one of your videos on the Turtle Wax Hybrid line, I decided to purchase some of their products from Amazon. Ever since, I’ve been learning from you and a few other detailers. I’m becoming a bit of a detailing aficionado. Did my first ever decon, clay bar and 2-stage paint correction with a DA polisher a few weeks back just following your video with my iPad on the hood of the truck. Every single product or technique that calls my attention, I search for your review on it first. You might find it quirky but this car-care/detailing “hobby” I’ve started recently did actually, and almost unintentionally, helped me regain the relationship with my father. Issue #11: Would it not be adequate just to blow the fabric with a electronic blow device or shake it well in fresh air in order to remove loosen fabric?
I have an Opti-Fine Paint Guard ceramic coating on my car, so I generally just use Gyeon for the topper. Works well. I would also not always recommend giving a wash to twist loop towels or waffle weaves, it's usually not necessary if you're too lazy. However, all other towels, yes. You must clean them before using them. The lint issue is dreadful and I learned that the hard way when I coated my car.

Love the videos. The variety and detail are second to none. You have probably already answered this at some point, but I couldn't easily find. What do you recommend for a quick cleaner to use in between washes? Like a quick detail spray to remove light water spots. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the kind words! I appreciate it. I wash my car twice weekly using the traditional wash method. More frequent washes is the way to go in my opinion. In between your regular washes, if the car is only lightly dirty, you can use a rinseless wash method to quickly clean the car if you want to. See my tutorial here: th-cam.com/video/p58Y5qRd3OU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ed6JpTv-tYBmZStw The rinseless wash will at least provide the lubrication needed on the surface. The only time a quick detailer is “ok” on a lightly dirty car is perhaps to quickly remove a bird dropping if you can’t fully wash the car. But I wouldn’t clean an entire vehicle with a quick detailer. Quick detailers are mainly used after the wash process as a drying aid or quick way to boost gloss and slickness.
This is great, thanks for the quick reply. Doing a "true" is tough this time of the year in PA. What products do you recommend for spot or bird dropping removal?
Hi Pan! Yet another cool and informative video on auto detailing. Question...What product would you recommend/use for polishing glass? Please advise. Thanks!

I have 98 civic with terrible defroster. In the morning front window gets foggy and makes it difficult to see. Any window products you could recommend for this issue? I would greatly appreciate your input. Big fan of your channel. Thanks.
Pan- great tips, I learned a lot. In the spring I’ll be applying a new ceramic coating to my sports car. Just finished polishing and ipa wipe down but it will sit until temps warm up to apply the coating. My question is how soon to apply a ceramic topper to further enhance gloss? My sports car is not driven much and very seldom dirty.
Thank you! Do you know if beadmaker and/or carpro reload 2.0 are suitable to top over Adams advanced graphine ceramic coating? My goal is to achieve most gloss in my Vintage corvette and I don’t want to stack. Which would you pick on a deep red car?
Hi Pan, New to your channel, I really appreciate your breakdown of all this content and tips. I recently bought a new car and am a beginner to this stuff so I wanted to start incorporating ceramic spray coats before upgrading to the bottled stuff. Just a quick question: when you say maintenance washes, does that include the wash soap or just rinsing with water? Thanks! -Steve
Another great educational video! I’ve been planning to use Gyeon WetCoat on top of CanCoat. But now Im concerned about creating too many layers. Especially if I use a drying aid as well. Your thoughts on the CanCoat+WetCoat combo?
Yeah I would using WetCoat and then another drying aid after that. Just use WetCoat and call it a day. On your next wash, you can alternate and use another drying aid at the end of your wash process.

I heard Pan refer to hearing protection during Mistake #13.
With mistakes we learn and we make it faster by learning from experienced people so learning curve gets reduced
Absolutely! Happy new year Humberto!
Humberto is a goat
That’s one of the greatest advantages of us as humans; we may not live long, but the knowledge handed down can stay and even evolve from each new generation.
You want the learning curve to increase, not be reduced. 🤦🏻♂️

I've been watching your videos for years and I've corrected my technique as I learned from you. I have the most beautifully detailed cars according to family, friends, and neighbors. Thank you,
Awesome! Happy new year!
Yes that can happen too. Flex Wax is super durable (more than a typical quick detailer) so there is likely a limit to what detergents can do.
I just throw away towels often n buy new - especially where coatings are involved.
@07wrxtr1 ya I bought new ones too but I'm using those old towels for drying aids and toppers.
@@07wrxtr1That’s rather wasteful isn’t it? I don’t care much about the finance part but more about the environmental aspect.
I don’t have a solution but if someone else here does, that would be great!
Interesting video. I had no idea that car detailing could be so technical.
I agree with it all, I'm all in with everything. I've also seen some horrible detailing jobs at some dealerships I've worked at. I do national event car shows so of course I must and do step up my detailing game if I wanna compete and win. However, my head exploded from all the technicality, if detailing is a lifestyle then by all means have at it but I also have kids, a wife and a few other hobbies that would suffer if I became more of a detailing guru then I already am.

I'm in the same boat as you, man. I've been doing electrical work for my dad's company, and I'm just not that into it. Let alone try to learn to run it, there's just too much
Unfortunately, the detail market is a bit oversaturated, and i assume it would be very hard to get a business rolling in my area.
👍🏻
Hi Pan, one of your best videos yet! I really like how you went above the beginner mistakes, what you mentioned here it is really useful even for us that do this for a living. I ordered rag company towels and listen to whatI am told washed them all prior to use
normal wash, double rinse hug and. Air dry and they were the worse towels I have ever used
And ordered tide Pure at your recommendation and it does a great wash you can feel

Thanks!
I appreciate you sir. Have a prosperous new years!
Thanks Sean, happy new year to you as well!

Exactly. As long as the paint is properly cleaned, decontaminated and prepped, polishing isn’t absolutely required. A coating just needs to bond to a surface free of contamination and any previous protection.

I have a 2024 Black Shadow lariat Maverick that has the Black Appearance Package that I keep in immaculate paint condition. I have about 25 different polishes and waxes and I have been able to keep the truck looking so great while making all the mistakes pointed out by you. I would like to hear from you what you consider to be about three products that I could utilize. It certainly doesn’t appear that I have damaged my favorite vehicle with my use of so many different polishes and wax brands. I certainly appreciate your expertise and I will for certain be partaking of your recommendations.
Great stuff Pan. Very comprehensive! Wishing you a blessed 2024 from USA!! 🇺🇸

Thanks man!! I wish you a great 2024 as well! And thanks for being so supportive of my channel. 👍🏻
Do you have a video on safely cleaning Head Up Displays?
Appreciate your great content and sharing your vast detailing knowledge!
You can be sure that I have a tutorial on that, here: th-cam.com/video/WjSa3Hp7TvQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7XcRtxmjaSjOOqLK
When you are looking for a topic, just type it and add “Pan The Organizer” at the end. For example, searching for “how to clean infotainment display Pan The Organizer” and you would easily find it.
Happy new year!
Excellent, thank you!
Pan, the link you shared is for infotainment displays and I didn’t catch a mention about HUD units. Are you implying that HUD projection screens should be cleaned the same way as infotainment touch screens? Thx for the clarification.
Thanks Pan for the excellent review. Happy and Blessed New Year. Al, NJ, USA.

Great video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience.
Thanks Ethan! Happy new year!
Great video! I see you using a lot of Koch Chemie products. Would you do a video of their ceramic coating C0.02 next year? I would especially like to hear how the ease of application compares to other coatings you have used.

Another fantastic and informative (reminder) video. In spite of the recommendation and due to my hard-headedness, I will continue to use Turtle Flex Wax as a drying agent on my IROC which was coated with Armor Shield IX a couple years ago. Happy New Year, Pan.
You do what makes you happy. That works too hehe. Happy new year!
Thank you much for sharing all of this with us!!

We are both car guys but had never been able to “break the ice”. Now we talk every day (about cars and car care obviously). I’m 45 and my father is 77. So thanks again for the content and sorry for the long answer :)
Excellent job
I told my wife today after watching you that I wanted to be a car detailing person.
Any classes or certifications that I need to be more professional on my new carrier?
Thanks
Merci Pan pour l'énergie et l'implication de partager, à autrui, tes connaissances sur un monde si vaste qu'il en est facile de se perdre si on ne sait pas par où commencer.
Merci! Bonne année à toi!
The lint issue is dreadful and I learned that the hard way when I coated my car.
thanks for sharing the knowledge. help me a lot cause im newbie. keep it up.

@@PanTheOrganizerPan, I’ve actually been watching your channel for a few years. You’ve got a lot of solid information and if I lived near you, I’d definitely bend your ear with detailing questions over coffee. I feel like you have a really good method to teach this stuff and I find your explanations of products and techniques helpful. Appreciate it brother.
Thank you for the tips! They are so invaluable !! I learn so much from you. May be you can help : I've got waterspots on my brand new car after someone sprayed holy water on same and I did not wipe it off. I've cleaned the car, tried to clay the section affected, and also used Chemical Guys waterspots remover. They are still there. Should I now purchase a dual action polisher with compound?
Super sick! Love the tips and love that you are making the detailing world that much better!
Glad you like them! Happy new year!

Hi Pan. Awesome year end video. Thanks for all the information you have brought the car enthusiast world. You rock! Have a very Happy New Year!
Happy new year!
Really helpful list Pan, thanks! What brand of rolling chair is it you use? Looks very stout and quality.
Yeah this is the best rolling chair on the market. Made in USA, with the best possible parts. This one: bit.ly/3R5OH8i
@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks for the link. Looking forward to picking one up 👍🏼
If you get this, it will be the last rolling chair you'll ever buy. It's that good. Let me know if you get one, and how you like it once you test it. ;)
I did not know ow about degreasing windows. I thought I knew it all! Thanks Pan!

See my tutorial here: th-cam.com/video/p58Y5qRd3OU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ed6JpTv-tYBmZStw
The rinseless wash will at least provide the lubrication needed on the surface.
Any quick detailer will do, with a plush microfiber towel.
But I would still prefer to wash my car.
Hi Pan! Yet another cool and informative video on auto detailing. Question...What product would you recommend/use for polishing glass? Please advise. Thanks!
See my glass polishing tutorial: th-cam.com/video/yMi5PtyqUI8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=QdPnxkmL6_ncBB2m
That degrease windshield and off gasing I’ve never heard in my life thanks for the knowledge
Yeah it’s the best way to get crystal clear glass. Degrease before using the glass cleaner. See my cool tutorial on it here: th-cam.com/video/3rF6keJ88Y8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=hvSaevuQmVlT9YXB
I have 98 civic with terrible defroster. In the morning front window gets foggy and makes it difficult to see. Any window products you could recommend for this issue? I would greatly appreciate your input. Big fan of your channel. Thanks.
Happy New Year Pan. Good Fortune to you and your family this 2024. What about a carnauba wax bonding to a glass coating?
Pan- great tips, I learned a lot. In the spring I’ll be applying a new ceramic coating to my sports car. Just finished polishing and ipa wipe down but it will sit until temps warm up to apply the coating. My question is how soon to apply a ceramic topper to further enhance gloss? My sports car is not driven much and very seldom dirty.
When applying a new coating, wait 14 days after the application before you wash your car again, and then you can start using your spray toppers.
Thank you! Do you know if beadmaker and/or carpro reload 2.0 are suitable to top over Adams advanced graphine ceramic coating? My goal is to achieve most gloss in my Vintage corvette and I don’t want to stack. Which would you pick on a deep red car?
@@PanTheOrganizer what brand of topper do you use for your ceramic coating ?
Hi Pan,
New to your channel, I really appreciate your breakdown of all this content and tips. I recently bought a new car and am a beginner to this stuff so I wanted to start incorporating ceramic spray coats before upgrading to the bottled stuff. Just a quick question: when you say maintenance washes, does that include the wash soap or just rinsing with water?
Thanks!
-Steve
A maintenance wash is your regular weekly or bi-weekly wash. Soap, wash mitt, etc.
As usual, you’re the man! Thank you and happy new year
