- In this video I struggle with an abs and traction control light. Along with 4x4 not working neither does my cruise control. After replacing the speed sensor I finally find the broken wire causing the problem.
Awesome video, step by step, great commentary.
I’m about to tackle this same problem and your time and patience with this video will be invaluable for me! Thanks so much!
Thx a million!! I will be fixing mine this weekend!
Great video for someone who is not a mechanic, goot work Bro! Just had to replace my speed sensor on the Front Driver's side on my 2016 Ram 1500 .
I've had this same issue on my truck for a couple of months now and it's been intermittent. First thing the mechanic told me was to change the wheel speed sensor so we did that. Then it was about to be the master cylinder, CV shaft, and wheel hub. I just ordered the connector piece and Marine shrink wrap tubing. Should be here Thursday and I pray this is the repair needed.
Let me know how it goes. My lights just started coming on intermittently. Not sure what it is. Seems hot or miss on the repair
Hell yeah!! I’ve been having this same problem on my truck for almost 6-8 months!! There was mechanics trying to change out my rack and pinion, others trying to change the hydraulic pump system for the brakes, etc. thanks man!! This videos saved me a ton of money!!!
Dude for real, I'm so happy to help 🤘
Did it work for you? Im about too tear mine apart
Coz this thing are unknowing some time, makes crazy.
Oh yeah, same problem with my 2500. Annoying as hell to hear that “ding” every 5 seconds. Shop told me the module is back ordered and would take a year or more. I don’t have your skills but thanks for putting this video together.
If you ever have time. Just follow those sensor wires from beginning to end. You might just solve the problem with an easy fix bro. 🤘
Everyone is having this problem.
Ram is fixing the newer models apparently, but left us holding the bag. Same issue with 21 -24 but they recalled it.
@@raggamuffin3928 now I found out that I also have the grid heater bolt issue. Way to go Ram. Still better than a Ford.
You are the man. Great video.
This video helped me out a lot I appreciate it I got a 2014 1500 pentastar also
MTF ABS , now I will fix mine and drink a 6 pack seating on those MTF, thanks for the video
Great Video Brother!
Real and to the point!
That's exactly what I aim for is just being real. Like all of us cussing in our garage. Thanks for the comment bro. 🤘
Thanks for the video.👍👍
Thanks for posting! Not looking forward to fixing this on my truck. I find that using a lighter on heat shrink tubing is less of a hassle.
Good Job I am having problems ever since i took my Ram Truck in for Struts and Shocks …. Thank but all my wire are good and connected perfectly still looking for my problem…..
Not sure if you saw it or not but you have a torn outer axle boot as well
I sure did. I actually made another video on it. Thanks for lookin out though because generally I would miss that kind of thing until it was too late.
Hello friend
Well the code that I have said ABS CONTROL MODULE INTERNAL FAILURE
That particular part will be no available till few months
Any way long history short after several months my ABS and traction control completely when off
I don’t know what the heck but is been few weeks and not mor Christmas tree on my truck
What do you think
Hello there friend
Thanks again for all your videos
I’m just starting to have problems with the ABS and tracking controls and breaks light all three together
Auto parts said they don’t have scanners for those lights and of course I don’t want to end up going to the dealership
I have the same 3.6 2015 1500 wandering what kind of scanner you used to find out on what wheel you have the problem
Thanks again and any recommendations will be appreciate
I bought a pretty cheap scanner from Amazon. It was outdated very quickly but I got lucky and it read that particular code. I haven't used it since but I'll dig it up and give you the name.
To have it diagnosed at the dealership will probably cost an hour of work which I would guess is around $120.
Did you ever get your truck fixed
I'm wondering if that connector even does anything? What if you had just connected those wires without the connector?
my harness popped off also. do you know what wire is positive? Green & purple or green & white
What was the part numbers on the factory parts
Excelente 👌🏽
Thank you. I appreciate it. 🤘
Yes friend I did get some scan tool and I have code C220049
ABS control module
I just unplug the wiring harness clean everything put some dielectric grease
The was not corrosion I live in Florida
Put everything back together the same s…..
I'd probably put a meter on each sensor connector just to be sure everything is getting a consistent 12v, or close. After that I'd trace out the wires from all the speed sensors just to be sure there's no broken spots. If it all checks out, you're probably looking at a control module.
i have the same issue on my 2019 Ram 2500...do you know what Mopar calls that part you bought?
Man...I don't remember for sure. I just asked the parts department for the connector that the speed sensor plugs into. I'll look in my garage to see if I still have the package it came in.
Is this something I can still drive with till I get it fixed? I’m a traveling mechanic for deseal generators and I’m gone for the next week.
Yes. Mine drove fine but, no cruise control and no 4x4. For my truck anyway.
Thank you sir
I just replaced my fuel pump and the same dummy lights on. I’m hoping it’s not what you had to do. I had to have my truck towed when the fuel pump took a shit. By the way is your Ram Badge the same as what you have on your videos? I’d so where did you get it done? I have something I’ve been wanting to do and can not find anyone to do it.
Yes, I replaced the factory badge with that one. Pretty sure I found it on Amazon but really can't remember, it's been a long while.
I've had 3 fuel pumps replaced under warranty. They kept telling me it was an issue with the tech relaying to my gauge how full it was. Never had a problem with the pump itself.
@@notamechanic153 my fuel pump took a crap. Not sure if it was getting too hot or what. Where the hot wire was connected inside the fuel pump was discolored. Do you have a short bed? The reason for my question on that. I pulled the bed to replace the tank and ended having to drop the tank because the fuel pump is mostly under the cab.
I’m going to have to watch your video again lol. My back left wheel sensor ended up throwing a code. I looked at it and the wires were ripped out of it. It looks as if it’s been like that a while wonder why it didn’t throw the code before.
No more codes. I pulled the pins out of the connector re-spliced the wires and bam. No more codes. In the not so distant future I’ll be getting the new connector/ clip and do exactly what you did. Thanks for the information and a great video. So helpful!!
@@chaddewitt1396 The dealership has done all the work to the fuel pump so far, they said they had to drop the tank every time. Not an easy fuel pump to replace.
@@chaddewitt1396 I did the back badge on my own. Very simple.. Just use some fishing string to cut the old one out. I did it while it was cold. A lot of videos will say do it hot. I feel like doing it while it's warm will just spread that sticky s*** everywhere. Cold was a piece of cake.
i did the same thing but still on any idea
I just had this happen today on my ram 1500. Brakes plus wanted 300 bucks to diagnose and repair. What code scanner do you need to figure out which wheel it is? They didn’t tell me.
I have a cheap Amazon thing. I would guess auto zone or some place like that who has the free code reader would give you an answer.
@notamechanic153 so a regular scanner?
Quit using cheap code readers. You must buy AGM factory diagnostic reader. And clear the ECU. Then when the first code pops up fix that problem. Otherwise you're throwing money away on parts that are perfectly fine. Once a vehicle is in limp mode it shuts down everything and reads codes on what it's shutting down to protect the vehicle. This is why you must clear the ECU first and it takes a factory Diagnostic scanner for that vehicle. In order to erase the ecu and relieve it from limp mode. Then proceed with repairing the problem. If you keep driving with dummy lights on the ECU has an internal counter that will put the vehicle in limp mode after 1000 shifts or 2000 miles.
Have 2 weeks with the check electronic brake system on and every video i see its the right front end i might have it check out
Hey i just replaced 2 new front wheel bearings that came with speed sensors..now no signal found feim new speed sensors and abs ,service 4x4 and trac control lights on..heeeeellllllllp lol
I can’t do one hand 😂
I’ll never buy another dodge/ram Chrysler/Jeep. Complete Trash. Cash in a campfire!
Understandable.
Man my truck is doing the same damn thing I replace the sensors in the wheels and speed sensor and my lights are still on
