I just got finished replacing my break pads and having the rotors machined I pressed the rotors in and installed the new pads everything is on tight and my ABS and Traction control light are on. Do you recommend I take it to the dealership or just a shop like we have brakes plus here in Dallas Tx. To figure out which one it is ??? Thanks in advance.
You just got out of a jam with this mechanic I got to he tried charging me 800 bucks for that and I said no thanks I’ll do it myself thanks for the video ❤
Just put new hubs on the front of my 14 ram. And one of the timken hubs had a bad speed sensor in it , brand new! Put the old sensor in the new hub and issue is fixed.
have the same issue on my truck... took it to the shop and they said with parts and labor it would be $185.. I can buy the part for like 20. beats the $185. thanks for the info
My Dodge Ram has three lights on abs traction and break dealer is saying it may be the module …I feel like my truck has a drag to taking off is this something u experienced
Mine 17 ram change right abs last month and now turn back on same light and a little grinding when moving forward but noticeable when backing up a grinding a little loud in a parking lot
hey there. First of all, great video. I am having the same issue. When I start my truck, I get these error codes in order; Service Trailer Brake System Service Electronic Braking System Service Antilock Brake System I replaced my 2 sensors on the rear of my truck, but not the front. I put on new rotors, calipers, pads all the way around, and I also dielectric greased everything. Would I need to drive for a while for the computer to read them ( if the issue is the sensors not being read ) and then the light go off? I heard in the end you said "went for a couple mile drive". Does it take time for the computer to find them and read them? Cheers!
I was told by Dodge there is no brake senor on my 2014 1500 Outdoorsman. I asked because all four brakes were destroyed and I never had any warning from a sensor and there wasn't any noise or feeling from the brakes until they were almost gone. My question is doesn't my truck have a sensor?
Thanks for watching Kim, I'm not a mechanic but from my understanding there is no sensor tracking the status of the pad usually when they get low there's a mechanical metal clip on them that makes them squeek so you can hear that they need to be replaced. The abs sensor here just measures traction. Hopefully that helps answer your question. If not, maybe the channel Cali auto tech could explain better!
Yesterday my ABS light(s) came on my 2016 RAM truck's dash as I was driving out of the driveway. I took it to my local Dodge RAM dealer. They said the ABS Module had an internal failure. The diagnostic charge was $ 160.00 and the module was about $ 1,400.00. They said it would take about a month to get it in as they only use genuine Mopar parts. My truck is 7 years old with 32,400 miles on it. I purchased the Mo Par Max Care unlimited warranty which covers every thing (5,000) parts. The mileage limitation was 1,000,000 miles. You may say I have a lifetime warranty. That was the best thing I could have done was buy that warranty for my truck and my wife's car. Dodge does not offer that any more. All I have to pay is $ 100 deductible and I'm back on the road.
That sucks man. I just recently bought a 2018 3500 with 80k miles on it. and these lights came on. Do you know what causes it?? It first started when I would hit like small bumps on the road and now the lights won’t go away. Dealer said the same thing to me I just didn’t know if that was the actual problem or if it was a shortage of some kind
@@giogiovanni9530 I was going to be able to wait the 30 days or so but the next week on Monday I got a call from the dealer that said the part had come in. I looked online and saw the insides of the ABS module. There was a circuit board with a lot of very small surface mounted computer chips. These new cars are nothing but computers on wheels.
How did you know which sensor if it never stated?? I get abs module internal failure no issues with brakes at all. I have 87000. Really appreciate your input
Really value and appreciate your clarification. I thought you got the same code at dealer as well. I got the code whoever I went had faith it might be a sensor. Those modules are on back order till January. Nobody has them. Thank you for your time have a blessed day!
I have a 2016 Dodge Dart and my ABS and traction control lights came on. 2 days later the check engine light came on to. Took it to AutoZone and code U0415 popped up. Says invalid information recieved from abs control module. Bad part about it is the car only has a little over 40k miles on it.
@@BreakFreeHomestead They definitely do not make em like they used to. My first car was a 1996 Honda Accord that I had for 13 years and had almost 400k miles before I sold it. Other than the normal maintenance I never had an issue with it. Bought a 2013 Malibu after that and it was sensor after sensor.
@@BreakFreeHomestead it’s not weird at all they use the cheapest things possible. If it barley works and costs 2 cent less that’s what they are going with. These are things that should NEVER go bad on a vehicle. FCA has huge problems with the abs system. For like the past 20 years. On my particular model there’s huge issues with the oil filter housing. A 40 thousand dollar truck with an inability to stop or keep oil in the engine. About the 2 most important things you need in a vehicle. They almost went bankrupt for a reason.
@@BreakFreeHomestead I have change both front. And 1 week after I have esp light on. I don't know if it's the cause. Abs and esp work fine but light is on...can you have some information about that ?
Do you remember the code you got , because my abs and tranction light are on and the codes C0020-1c and C0020-16 came up and i was wondering if it would be the same problem
My 2015 ram was doing this a couple of months ago, it ended up being the front right wheel bearing being bad and grinding. Now my truck is doing the same exact thing again with all of these lights coming on but I don’t hear any grinding coming from either side of the vehicle.
Just pull the fuse and don’t give Chrysler anymore of your money for replacement parts. Problems been going on for years, they don’t care to fix it. Meanwhile record profits for them this year. Guess that’s what happens when you use junk parks.
Good Video, at the very end you make a statement that really drops the helpfulness of this video. you state "you just have to diagnose whether it's the left or the right" HOW DO I DO THAT?
Like I said in the video, I had Dodge troubleshoot it, it cost like $75 and they told me which one... That is unless you have an advanced diagnostics tool or know a mechanic that will run it for free.
Just got the same issue with mine. Got the code read by my friend at the dealership and he said it’s the front right. I was going to buy a sensor there but they are charging $315 for the OEM one so I think I’ll go for the same sensor that you bought. How has it held up so far? Any issues with buying a cheaper sensor? Thanks!
Well i wrecked my truck so definitely no more issues with that one, jsut make sure you dont get any of the lube on the face of the sensor when installing or could cause issues.

I think if you can get the work covered by the shop that just worked on it or a dealer warrant that would probably be best!

How did you determine which sensor was bad?.
This video helped me in 2022. Thank you so much, it was very helpful!
Glad it helped!
How do we know which side it is
Break free homestead and automotive repair has a nice ring to it lol! Nice video bro
Thanks. Probably not too many more of these videos. I hope...

You ever find out what was wrong
Sounds like a brake pad was worn right off. Metal on metal.
I replace the hub assembly and problem solve.
did the parking brake light go off on the dash?

It drove fine, but no 4x4, abs, or traction control.

Yup, no 4x4.
I’m getting a c2200-29 abs code and I have all the same lights as you

After the replacement there was no errors. Maybe if you replaced it and there's still a light maybe it was the wrong wheel sensor or more than one?

Yes, just be aware you lose your abs and traction so if it's raining I would be very careful

How do I check. Which one is it
I only knew since dodge diagnosed it. If you know someone with a shop reader that would work too. The basic obd readers will not tell you anything.
Awesome video man! Very helpful, I’m going through the exact same issue on my 2014 1500. 🤷🏻♂️
Don! Sorry I missed your comment. Hopefully you were able to get it fixed. Thank you for the support and we look forward to watching your videos.

I can’t get the clip disconnected from the sensor
maybe a small screwdriver?
very helpful
Glad it helped!
