Here's my review of the 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 6 Ultimate AWD.
This stunning car has really taken my breath away during mu time with it; it performs magnificently well and also has a certain slightly weird charm that so many of its rivals lack.
It's east to compare the Hyundai IONIQ 6 vs IONIQ 5 as they are extremely different from one another despite sharing some major components.
The IONIQ 6 delivers range, comfort, dynamic driving and style in one very unique package.
The IONIQ 6 is a Truly exceptional car that deserves its title of World Car of the Year 2023. As far as EV's go, I haven't driven a better one.

I have one and love it; I'm a 70 year old woman with a fairly aggressive driving style. Car is ultra comfortable. On the freeway you need to be careful about sppeding because 75 and 100 mph don't feel or sound different. The car is heavy and sturdy, corners well at speed since I frequently drive on windy country roads.
It’s so direct and positive on the windy roads but as you say, like with a lot of EVs, the speed can surprise you!
I also want to buy one.
How about the ride quality compare with Model Y?
@@hardtry9220 I think both ride well, similar in terms of comfort whilst the Hyundai feels more sporty.
Ride quality is fantastic, likewise with the build quality. This is not another same old Tesla on the road. This is a terrific Hyundai Ioniq 6 will be recognized as a Damn fine EV!
I love it. Super comfy and very quiet. Responsive and full of all technology 😊❤

During my test drive in this awesome Ioniq 6 I was immediately sold. I have missed the wonderful feeling while driving this car lately (I had a Tuscon PHEV N-Line). The feeling of being one with your car... Me and my Ioniq 😍
I live in the Netherlands and luckily we have quite a lot of fast chargers, if necessary😉

I’m getting that mileage at 100kph in Australia at around 20 deg c.
It’s around 0 to 13 deg atm. Makes a few percent difference.
My only disappointment is when I have to stop driving it.
It’s better than I expected.

Thank you for the review. I also drove it over 1,000 miles. I got 9.3 km/kW or 5.77 miles. It performed well: acceleration, cornering, and suspension. Autonomous driving is better than 2022 Ioniq 5.

Just found this video, which surprised me when I saw 'world COTY 2023' because only yesterday I watched an Electric Viking video saying it was now discounted by up to $12,000 here in Aus.
Oh really? Maybe not a car for the Aussie market? It’s a brilliant piece of kit in my opinion.
@@DefinitelyNotAGuru I agree, and if I hadn't bought an Atto3 a few months back, I would have jumped at the twin motor model. The fact that a COTY can be so heavily discounted blows me away, and the fact it's an EV even more so. I paid full price for the BYD, as does everyone as far as I can tell. I'm looking forward to when the BYD is ready for trade, but a few years at least.
I really LOVE the design and styling. Will be buying one very soon.

I've seen one in the flesh for the first time two days ago and i was impressed, not so much though with the 50 + year old woman driving it,she was so close to the steering wheel she was struggling to drive it!!! Not a good advertisement for the car 😂

I think ten minutes in this might convince you otherwise. I like great cars, I’m personally not an EV fanatic at all but this is a GREAT car that just happens to be electric 👍
But even "not quite there yet" has to begin somewhere, and the fact is we're basically 10 years into mass market electric cars. Even 5 years from now, things will be *very* different.

It’s great looking and I’m going to buy one later this year, but best EV is a stretch. I would take a Porsche Taycan over it but it’s out of my budget.
It’s the best all-round EV I’ve driven, and I’ve driven both. In my opinion of course; but would I rather have a £120k car over a £55k car, probably yes.
I see this as a very interesting car. Decent efficiency, reasonable power. I would obviously look at it vs Tesla Model 3 Performance at £57,000. Whilst I prefer the looks of the Hyundai and dislike the looks of the Tesla... I would still choose the Tesla. As I am not convinced that the battery technology that Hyundai are using has a longer life than the Tesla.
Fair enough, the charging capability of this car is astounding but how it ages is yet to be seen 👍
@@DefinitelyNotAGuru I have followed closely the EV models and I appreciate the charging speed of the Hyundai is class leading. My concern is their LG Chem battery pack? Assuming I have my facts right.... The Kona has had a number of battery fails and issues. If I was leasing the car, I am sure I would go for the Hyundai. But buying and owning a car..... I would go to Tesla. Having said that.... I believe the current climate of fast changing EVs, means that leasing is safest.

In Korea, many people use taxis, so you don't have to worry about batteries.
Looks a high tech car, but I wonder who its aimed at? Its nice to dream but at that price I (and everyone I know) just cant plump down that sort of cash.
I’d say it’s aimed at the executive market, it’s similar money to a 5 series.
In other markets (including the rest of Europe I think), they go a cheaper version with a smaller battery pack. Hyundai decided not to offer that in the UK tho' (at least not yet).
I've always loved this car, but it's just too expensive, whatever the trim level. I don't want to say the "T word", but it's a big argument against.

I think it looks like a pig in knickers in videos: but, I walked past one in my local Hyundai dealership a couple of days ago, and it looked slightly better from a distance of a couple of metres.

Really missed on the design, in my opinion.
At least it gets a reaction huh? I personally love the look of it but friends I know don't. Somehow "I hate it" is always better than bland in my book
