      How is it mate ? I currently have a BMW i4 edrive 35 on order but it's being delivered in May. So looking to get the Ioniq 6 which I can get by December.
      Just looking at them both now to decide which one is better.

    I have an Ioniq 5 and at first wondered why Hyundai make it default level 3 regen on start up when I always switched it on I-Pedal, though I knew of this before I got the car. After driving it for a a week or two I realised level three mode with its creep forward/ back function is more precise for getting out of parking spots so is useful for initial part of the drive, when I set off I then switch to I Pedal. The good thing is that it is very easy to subconsciously toggle unlike with other brand and you can do so on the fly. FOr those wh don't know, the Ioniq 5 (and I presume related care like this and the EV6) also switches from I pedal to level three when in reverse, presumably because of the stopping precision again.

    • @TotallyEV
      @TotallyEV  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Interesting, but that doesn't explain why it behaves in such a way when Auto Hold is enabled. Nonetheless, its competitors, Polestar and Tesla have it permanently on without issues - on the latter you've also got a creep function too.

    • @YoushaAhmad
      @YoushaAhmad 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@TotallyEV Good point. Auto hold is more of a legacy feature I suppose, though I haven't actually used it on my car because I am in I-pedal most of the time. If I didn't have that feature then I would use autohold. I suppose using it would enable the next closest thing to I pedal for reversing/ on initial startup. Though personally I find creep mode useful for getting in and out of tight spaces so don't mind level three regen on the start. Stopping is more precise when pushing on a brake pedal compared to letting off of the accelerator.
      I think it is good to have the options so not be stuck to one pedal or creep driving. It would be good for Hyundai to have a default for those who wish, but I think the paddles are a good feature either way.

    I agree with everything stated here and I absolutely love my Ioniq6 with the digital green paint color. There’s only one major glitch that I’m not sure will ever be solved in the United States and it makes me regret that I didn’t buy a Tesla. When traveling long distance, the charger situation is pathetic, especially finding a fast charger. #1, if you find one, you’ll have to wait at least an hour because they will be full. #2, only 20% of the high speed chargers work and #3, even if they are rated at 350 kWh or 150 kWH typically they charge at 50 kWh. EV-GO and Electrify America are the 2 majors on the Highway, they both suck with EV-Go slightly better than the Electrify America.
    And btw, good luck finding either………….

    the I pedal thing has to do with rules where the car has to default to most effective drive mode when you start up (energy consumption) since I pedal mode uses the AWD exclusively, where the lvl 1 to 3 can use only RWD if the correct situation is meet. meaning less energy from the battery is consumed when only the back motor is engaged.

    • @TotallyEV
      @TotallyEV  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's not logical, as other vehicles from the Hyundai Group aren't AWD models and yet also default to one of the levels. Furthermore, it was never the case in the past?

      Lol, maybe in some markets but here in Canada the Ioniq 6 is a much better deal than the Chinese made LFP M3 and the M3 Long Range. Very nice car. My son brought one a couple of weeks ago and he is loving it.

    • @pkerry12

      @@michaelcollier8768 76k AUD for a long range model 3 vs 88k AUD for a inoiq 6, and the tesla is faster and has way more range. secondly charging network Telsa still has the biggest charging network in the world and 99% of there chargers ACTUALLY WORK and are well maintained. SOOOOO you ioniq 6 and every other car manufacture can't compete with tesla. So as I said the best option is Tesla, for both charging infrustructure, road side assistance, and cars. YOU NEED ALL 3 to be a good EV and all the others are working on is just the cars which is not enough. So good luck with that lol.

    • @Osmosis909
      @Osmosis909 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@pkerry12 I agree with everything you’ve said, my worry is when Tesla open up the super charging network. The biggest benefit of buying a Tesla disappears which will make other EV’s way more of an attractive option

    • @pkerry12
      @pkerry12 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Osmosis909 every car manufacturer has failed to produce good software and regular software updates, and no car manufacturer are ahead of FSD as tesla are leading in this area. The issue is people are still stuck in the old mindset of what a car should be, as opposed to what it could be.

      My friend bought a model 3 at the same time as I bought the Ioniq 6.
      They are both good.
      The 6 has more as standard.
      To get similar features in the model 3 make it cost a little more than the Ioniq 6.
      Range is very similar, acceleration is a little better in the 3 but hard to pick without testing equipment.
      The Ioniq charges faster, has better ergonomics, better fit and finish, smoother and quieter on the road.
      The Tesla chargers are very good, but in Queensland the state charging network is larger than the Tesla one.
      I think the Hyundai is well ahead of the Tesla, but that is a personal preference.
