Watched every single minute of this video. Don't understand my addiction to watching other people work on cars, but I keep feeding it, lol. Thanks for mixing it up with another marque. Cheers, Mr. S. P.S. I had my car's crankshaft position sensor connector somehow work itself loose last night. The car would intermittently jerk and misfire badly after a few hard pulls, but only while driving leisurely. Go figure. Would die promptly thereafter, and exhibit an extremely hard start. No check engine light. Did it again this morning and left me stranded by the side of the highway. Thank goodness I had my laptop and Tactrix adapter with me. Found the code P0335 stored. Took off the alternator cover and stuck my hand down below the (still burning hot) alternator. I literally slid off the connector with one finger. Very odd. Cleaned out the contacts on both connector and sensor with cleaner, reconnected the two firmly (no satisfying click, boo!), and yanked at the connection to ensure a snug fit. Reconnected the negative battery terminal I had disconnected earlier and she fired up right away! I was ecstatic. I was sure I would have to replace the actual sensor itself. The point of this long-winded story is that watching your videos has given me the confidence to troubleshoot and work on my own money-pit (modified genuine JDM Forester STi). Thank you, Mr. S!
I had a 1994 Nissan Maxima that was an outstanding vehicle. Always had a soft spot for Maximas. Looking forward to see you work your magic on this car.

@@brymstar333 here’s some helpful knowledge- service a Nissan/Jatco CVT every 30k with ONLY the genuine OE fluid. Use a scan tool to reset the fluid deterioration calc in the TCM when you service it. My father has been working on Nissans most of his life and told me this model of maxima and then the older 2000s with the butterfly looking taillights were very reliable as long as you do regular maintenance. But he’s told me he’s had several customers with over 250k with just regular maintenance the biggest ones were use good oil(this usually kept the seals on the valve covers like this video mentions from failing) and service the trans with a drain and fill about every 30k or sooner if you’d like and change the trans filter every other drain and fill.
Subarus are simple to work on if you ask me. I did a timing belt, water pump on my 05 legacy at the weekend. Took me about 3 hours and I'd not done one before. Easy!
My first two vehicles were A32's with the original VQ30DE, loved how I didn't have to take the intake manifold off to replace plugs and any coil packs that went bad
I let the little bit of oil go into the cylinder on my wife's 1999 civic didn't hurt anything. I really enjoyed the video Happy Easter to you and your family

Thanks for the video bro. Was able to change out all my coils/plugs and my PCV valve. Was getting an error in bank 3 (P0303) and saw that my coil and spark plug were both burnt.
Really nice and informative instructional video, @MrSubaru1387! I particularly like the hose pinch-off pliers shown at about the 07:00 point. Could you identify the manufacturer and model number(s), please?
Thanks for a great video. Quick question for you, does the bracket behind the manifold attach to it? I don't think so. I'm also having issue getting the second hose clamps off. Is it okay to remove the hose clamp on the engine end?
I like watching these videos. It makes me happy that I own a Jeep with a straight six 4.0, manual AX-15, manual locking hubs, and a Ford 9 inch. Virtually the dumbest vehicle on the planet.
I can only afford 1 mortgage so I try to do most of my own work. I had a cyl 5 misfire on my maxima and just went and swapped out the coil in about 10 minutes. No need to take off the intake either. 100 bux, a flashlight and a 10mm hex.
Outstanding job ❤...I always try to save the customer a couple of pennies, and just replace the seal for the intake valve covers...unless is broken,...nice work though
Great video, one of the most informative step by step I've seen. sadly - I found it by searching "oil on coil and plug Nissan maxima" which means I already tried tackling the shaking engine misfire issue (thinking it's just a bad coil) and found the oily coil and went ahead and took out the plug to find it was also oily. after spraying some carburetor cleaner, installing a new plug and a new coil and putting everything back together I started the engine for about five seconds. turned it off quickly because of the smell. so considering I inserted oil and carburetor cleaner into the cylinder - what is the damage I'm looking at and what should I do now?
My maxima is giving the same code with multiple misfires and cylinder 3 misfire code. It makes a tapping sound and gets faster while accelerating. Started immediately after thunderstorm.
Mine just happened today. Gonna have a fun time fixing this. Lol. I got the patience to do it! Just need a few more tools he's using I don't have. Hopefully you got yours fixed!
On my 2006 Forester SG the trunk lid rattles on bad quality roads, and we have a lot of those. Figured out that the lid has a small left-right movement and the Liftgate Lock Striker Plate hits the actuator, and that makes the noise. How can I fix it? The Liftgate Bump Stop seems to be in decent shape, but I also tried to lift them with 3mm to push the lid harder, but it didn't solved the problem. Not sure if it will fix the rattling if I change them.
Cool to see you working on this motor. I really want a 350z to tinker with but it seems they are all super expensive and nice or overpriced and clapped out. 😔
