At this point you may as well make it 5-slot thick and outright put a tower-style cooler on it, with a fan exhausting the heat out of the back of the multiple PCIe rear covers. Would also help get the heat out of the case.

I could get an ASUS Strix 3080 OC at slightly sub-$1000 the previous week from a guy I know who works at a related store (very attractive offer in my country, 3080 usually cost anywhere from 1200-1700 $ US here, unless it's some lowest end version of 3080, like Ventus), but I'm already firm on going for 6900XT. nV ain't getting dat sweet money from my wallet this time.

@@Succer its chicken and egg problem. People rarely buys 2x of the same GPU (expensive and power hungry), so few devs include in their game, less incentive to buy, and then its dead
@Damian Chiliński you can fit two GPUs, you just need 2 cases for that.
@@Succer expensive, sometimes it does not even deliver the performance, i think part of the problem is that you just cannot deliver the info between the two gpus fast enough... similar to having multiple cpus does not give you sum of their performance... that and there being driver issues and devs not leveraging it, it's also expensive

Honestly, someone needs to fly the flag and call them out for how terrible their software is. It's literally unusable in 99% of situations.
I have never had a problem. Had gigabyte cards for 3 years and had no issues with software. What has happened in your case?
@@To_Anything I have an issue where sometimes it doesn't run the fan curve and it just stays at 30% fan speed. Luckily I have my pc set to turn off if things get too hot. As far as i can tell, it is a gigabyte issue because it hasn't happened since I let msi afterburner take charge. Im still getting the 3080 ti master, though... assuming they come out with one.
@@To_Anything I've had an aorus 2080ti and now the aorus 3080 and he's right. RGB fusion has been the worst piece of software I have used in a long time. Half the time it doesn't recognize the GPU or my RAM (Gskill ram which is listed as compatible with their motherboards).
And for some reason, the aorus master needs aorus engine to change the LCD display, even though its all done through RGB fusion which just further adds confusion to their already shit software
Been using gigabyte motherboards and cards for the last, 5 years, while I was not a fan of their OC software for the GPU, mostly just not a fan of the UI, I just used afterburner, aside from that I never had any issues with their software...
Rgb fusion is the worst app ever made, the Aurorus software isn't too good. Shame because I really like their hardware!

I ordered this GPU in January 2021 and got it shipped March 2021. It was an impulse buy because I was getting a cheaper one but saw this one became available (back then 3080's where XTREMEly rare lol)
I have been using it for over a year now and I can say that it is absolutely amazing. I game at 1440P and I can max everything out in almost every single game ever and never have to worry about ever getting below my monitors refresh rate. Honestly best performing GPU I have ever used. I am impressed.
Did yours came with 4 year warranty? Someone is selling me his Aorus 3080 10GB for $650. He provided the serial number and the warranty says it would be until 2026. Should I go for it? I'm coming from an RTX 2060 6GB

Don’t buy it. I had a faulty Aorus 5700xt that would flash it’s screen to black under certain loads. This was confirmed by the retailer that I got it from in independent testing and gigabyte denied the warranty request as no fault found. I’ll never buy another gigabyte product again.

Beautiful card when it works but the worst experience I’ve had with them. Had to return one and the second had to go through RMA. I finally have the EVGA with me. Nevahhh again.

Nice to see 3 hdmi ports on a new GPU. The decline in hdmi port amounts in favour of displayport in gpus has bothered me over the past few years. I've probably been unlucky but displayport has been the buggiest display connecter i've used by far.
They should put the toggle switch with the outputs, so you don't have to open the side panel each time you need to change the BIOS mode.

no thats totally unrelated eyefinity is for merging displays its just the fact AMDs display controller supports far far higher resolutions than nvidia... its also AMD that makes bilboard display drivers if you have seen those absolutely massive multi screen displays some places have

TBH, at THIS point, is where even I admit that water would've been a better option. If it needs THIS kind of cool, might as well liquid-cool.

Yeah.. I've been running the Aorus 3070 Master model, which is this card's little brother, and I've been incredibly impressed with it. Easily one of the best cards I've ever owned... Though I will admit, that I am tempted to upgrade to the 3080 Extreme. I went with the 3070 for the dual 8 pin connectors and the smaller form factor, but seeing this card in my case now, I think I would have been fine w/ the 3080... So who knows, maybe I'll upgrade again next year.

@@reijhinru1474 not really, here in Norway this 3090 extreme cost more than other cards. But founders edition is not for sale here after bots scraped Nvidia. So they stopped selling founders here.
But even so, founders + water block + radiator wouldn't be cheaper. I know this because I have been trying to buy 3080 since launch date and I managed to buy 3090. The OC on founders won't be better on water I think, I am at almost 2100 MHZ average clock! And this is inside a mini ITX case running 16 core CPU.

Yes which is why this card is a bad joke. I mean just look at the evga ftw3 cards that have a separate higher power limit bios. You only get a very tine performance increase from like a 100w power limit increase. Totally not worth the money.
ur evga 500w bios is useless. the more power u get compared to extrem consumption and heat is in no relation
3080 Aorus xtreme has a 450w bios on their site. 3080 FTW3 has 450w bios. 3090 FTW3 has 500w bios. 3080 strix also has 450w. The Xtreme comes 370w stock and FTW3 at 400w. I've tested both cards and at that point, it's all about silicon lottery. Xtreme is quieter and has better cooling by about 10-15c difference in my build.
