I saw a few people who were angry about the Doom video since it took it from 80-100FPS and went to around 130-140 FPS and thus they're saying that the claims of it being 80% faster were lies. Well, Doom doesn't have RT OR DLSS, and it was STILL a massive FPS increase at 2/3 the MSRP. So... pretty goddamned impressive. When more games use DLSS and RTX this thing is going to be godly.
I returned my 2070s but my second problem is getting the 3070 at launch. Bruh this my first pc and I only have 1month and a half to get a gpu...if I'm unable to get the 3070 I'm definitely buying the 2070s again 😔

John Smith yep! This is the first time I remember that the FE is actually an AIB card, by which I mean they’ve made radical changes to their own reference card that they gave to third party sellers. That tells me that unlike all other releases, they put a lot of work into the cooler and PCB (and thus wanna keep them for themselves), and feel confident enough that they have something worth safeguarding.
I believe MS Flight Simulator won't use all the GPU Power, because it currently only uses up to 4 CPU cores, hence the poor performance of that game. Don't quote me on that tho.

I think most pascal owners skipped turing because there wasn't really much performance to be gained at least if you were shopping in the same price range. I mean the 1080ti was the same msrp as the 2080 ($699) and pretty much matched it in performance (even beat in some cases because of the larger memory).

I bought a GTX 980 when it was new, has been using it until now, has not really had any need to upgrade until now that 3080 is releasing the next gen stuff, i'm upgrading mainly for 4k and 8k vr ready gpu, but so far the 980 has still let me play most new games on high settings with not much issues, whatever lag i get here and there has not really bothered me, but this upgrade will finally be totally worth it, in my case, lol.

Maybe an idea for the actual review.. Put the card in a normal air cooled build, and have some smoke machine / dry ice setup ready so you can see inside the case how it moves? Maybe it shows you something interesting that explains why they put the fans in this way?

I almost feel like....in the case of using this graphics card in a completely air-cooled setup, you would actually INVERT the upper half of your setup....so instead of air moving completely front to back, you'd have the lower half of the computer intaking air, but the upper half is flipped around a full 180....so it intakes from the back, and that air moves forward, so that the hot air from the graphics card is pushed FORWARD instead of BACK and into the CPU cooler

Put the card in a normal air cooled build, and have some smoke machine / dry ice setup ready so you can see inside the case how it moves?
Maybe it shows you something interesting that explains why they put the fans in this way?
I really like the design of the actual card itself. It's very clean and functional looking.

I almost feel like....in the case of using this graphics card in a completely air-cooled setup, you would actually INVERT the upper half of your setup....so instead of air moving completely front to back, you'd have the lower half of the computer intaking air, but the upper half is flipped around a full 180....so it intakes from the back, and that air moves forward, so that the hot air from the graphics card is pushed FORWARD instead of BACK and into the CPU cooler

That's exactly why this is on Short Circuit, the NDA lifts on the 14th and they aren't allowed to show it powered or show any benchmarks or cooling. The only thing they can show is a first look at the card itself
