  • The Messianic Jewish Literal Translation of the New Covenant Scriptures (MJLT NCS) is not just an important Messianic Bible translation that restores its Jewishness. It's also an objectively excellent, reliable version that uniquely presents and preserves the word of God. In this episode, Kevin picks his five favorite features of the MJLT and explains how they each contribute to making it such a solid Bible version, setting it apart from all other versions of the Bible.

    My father was a minister, and I have never believed nor taught that the Torah was faulty and I was raised "Christian". However, I think we have become a group of "Christians" with different beliefs. For example, I was taught and believe the Catholic faith is NOT Christian, nor are many of the current teachers of modern times. I guess I do not fit into any category. I'm just a child of God seeking the real truth.

    Just came across this channel..I have a Couple questions. 1. Do you believe that the Torah is for all people to live out what they can today and the the NT clearly confirms this? I.e. festivals, kosher, Shabbat etc..
    2. Are parsha’s included in the devotionals?

    As a Gentile believer, I have made the NASB my translation of choice for many years and I have referred to YLT numerous times. I would love to study the MJLT and will order one, but I do have a question. When you say that the New 'Testament' is thoroughly Jewish, did Paul write to predominantly Gentile churches in Greek or Hebrew? Or am I missing part of the equation? This is a serious question to help me understand better what you mean by 'thoroughly Jewish. I have really enjoyed a number of your teachings and am not being antagonistic in any way. Thank you very much Kevin!

    • @perfectwordTV
      @perfectwordTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your question, Randall! The NT is thoroughly Jewish because it was written by Jews (with the likely exception of Luke) from a Jewish historical and faith perspective to a Jewish audience. Paul's audience (and some others) was mixed, Jewish and Gentile, as you pointed out. The NT being written in Greek does not take away from the Jewishness of it anymore than the Septuagint (LXX, the Greek translation of the Hebrew Scriptures) being written in Greek takes away from the Jewishness of the Hebrew Scriptures. It's the content of the message, not the language. The message is still Jewish even if the emissaries contextualized it for their Gentile hearers. Does that help?

      Did you read Galatians? Paul states clearly that his mission is to the Gentiles. His epistles are loaded with references to the Jewish Scriptures. He presented a Jewish Messiah, as our Lord..

    Sincere question. How does the KJV measure up on comparison to the MJLT version?

    • @perfectwordTV
      @perfectwordTV  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the question. KJV is nearly as literal as the MJLT (despite a few blatantly bad translation choices, i.e. “Easter” in place of “Passover” in Acts 12:4), but the underlying manuscripts are later, meaning they are less reliable than the manuscripts that the MJLT (and most modern translations) are based on. But the other problem with KJV is that its English is over 400 years old and language has changed, therefore, it’s easier to misunderstand.

  • @backyardbque1964

    Is the new MJLT just the new covenant only, or the original as well?

    • @perfectwordTV
      @perfectwordTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      New Covenant only for now. But worth it!

  • @gtgodbear6320
    @gtgodbear6320 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Is there a version that's that's just a rewritten version of the KJV. With Adonai, Yeshua Messiah, Elohim, Kaifa, Yehuda ect... I would definitely be into a Masonic Bible. Especially a comparison Bible with the Messianic versus on one side and the KJV on the other. Being able to understand the Bible on a wider scale helps a lot.

    • @perfectwordTV
      @perfectwordTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Shalom Patricia. You would have to decide for yourself if the MJLT is “better.” I am not familiar with either of the translations you mentioned. There are multiple MJLT sample pages that you can look at on www.mjlt.org which you can use to compare to the other translations. Please also keep in mind that the MJLT is only the New Testament at this time. Blessings!
