    I got mine several months ago but havent had a need for it until the season change this year. For my one veg tent this heater is awesome!! No need to waste and raise your whole house heater. Probably be a great addition to heat a lung room if yours temps arent super cold and you dont have a lot of open air space. Lovin mine, Great review Chad! \m/

      I'm glad to hear you've had some experience with this unit. Very true, this can save some coin on the heat bill because it is targeted and not trying to elevate the temperature of the entire room / house. I use the lung room style of environmental controls. Cheers :)

    Chad, what's saponin? Also, the Thermoforge plugs any port on the Controller 69 instead of its sensor. I'm using the Control Plug to operate a simple space heater by the Controller 69. But maybe later.

    My upstairs bedroom stays pretty warm all winter. Too hot in fact. Lately my window has been open to cool it off and to let the air exchange because I'm not here all day to provide CO2. I'm worried my tent is too hot and the terps will burn off. Maybe more air entering the tent would help but in flower I can't leave the door open all the time. Anyway heat is my problem.

    • @ChadWestport
      @ChadWestport  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My room temps can get into the low 60's. The swing between lights on and off is over 10 degrees, which is really the max I feel comfortable with. Using this device, I can keep the temps equal from night and day. Root uptake can slow in the 60's, cells burst around 40, but it never gets that cold in here.

      So far it has not. I've run it consecutively for four days, but I am only on heat level 2. If you only have 3" of space, that may create an air intake issue. The intake is on the back of the unit and if it was stuffed against a wall or something, it might not work as well..? I hope that helps. Cheers :)

    I still can't grasp the concept. Isn't the heat in the tent going to leave out the exhaust? I'm guessing the heater would be going 24/7. Wouldn't you want to heat the air in the room instead? Chad, I can see your baseboard heat. Why not just raise your heat?

    • @ChadWestport
      @ChadWestport  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You do have an excellent point. Growers may be exhausting the heated air out of the tent too quickly. Usually the lung room will contain that exhaust and overall the temp rises and that helps. But yes, turn the exhaust fan down when using this to keep the heated air in the tent longer. For me, it's hard to control the heat evenly using the baseboard heater, but it does help. Cheers :)

      Its the temperature of the ROOT ZONE that's critical. It's the one thing that can decimate growth rate far more than what the vpd is. Heating the air will help vpd but growth rate will still be less than optimum . I use seedling heat pads under each pot. Normally that will give ambient air temp about 8 to 10 degrees above my lung room. I connect a reptile cage thermostat to the power board so if things get too warm in my absence, the heating switches off. I want to emphasise when I started doing this for my winter grows my veg rate appeared to roughly double.

    • @ChadWestport
      @ChadWestport  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, that can be a good option for people in tents 4x4 or larger. Thank you for mentioning it. 600W is the most efficient of the HPS lights and always run them at full power. Never dim an HID bulb, it changes the spectrum. One of the problems comes in, is when the lights go off. It gets really cold. This heater can still maintain a level of heat while the lights are off. Yeah but how efficient is it with electricity bet it doesn't beat an oil heater.. plus if you pump air in the tent will bulge.. and how much are they? If it's anymore than £20 it's pointless waste of money oil heaters are £20

      @magic.8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @desertrat0136 exactly, its not really viable for northern euro imo. Thermostatic oil heater and run the tent at negative pressure.

      @desertrat0136 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @magic.8 exactly positive pressure especially hot air is just asking for PM
      Waste of money £50 oil heater and a inkbird temp controller all day. And my oil heater keeps the temp up for 42 minutes and then comes on for 5 minutes only at lights out.. can't get more efficient than a oil heater..

      @ChadWestport it's just people pay a lot of money and if they can save a few quid then then I'm going to tell them. I wasted lots of money on equipment I didn't need. But if they can afford it then fine but they should be told there is a cheaper way if your not Richie Rich lol thanks bro God Bless 🙏

    Why pay for this when a fan heater does the job for half the money.

      This has more controllability and data it can provide. But, I'm all for using what works, and if your plants are staying happy with what you have, stick with it :)
