I was 17 years old when I met my partner who was 60 in 1991. Had a child 1995, married 1996. Been together ever since until he died 31 March 2023...age 91. Our son 28 years old. His Father instilled great traditional values in him. All three of us very close. Doesn't work for everyone. We miss him.

My fiancée is 10.5 years younger than me. She always tells me how I'm the best thing to ever happen to her. We were also long distance when we got together.
Met on a random Facebook post, in the comment section. She messaged me and we never stopped talking! She was in Indiana, and I'm in Texas. Thankfully I was able to spend a few months with her in Indiana. She visited me in Texas a couple of times as well. In total we spent about 7 months together.
She moved to Dallas, got an apartment down the street from me for a year, and we finally moved into our own apartment in December 2023. We were long distance for almost 2 years.
Nov 30, 2020 she messaged me and we quickly found out we had a ton of things in common. Dec 2, 2023 we both felt like this was something out of a movie, we both said "I love you". She sent me a ring for Xmas that year. I sent her a ring too in the beginning of Jan 2021. If anything good came out of Facebook and 2020, it was her!!
Now that we live together we are just getting closer than ever and love each other more than ever. We've never been happier! When we first met online, she said "it feels like, bam!, here's your soulmate!" I agree!!
Most of the relationships I've been in had a 5+ year gap. I've usually been the younger one in the relationship. Except for my current fiancée and my last ex g/f, both about 10 years younger than me. (The reason it didn't work with the ex is not because of the age gap either, it was her personal lifestyle choices at the time, and she didn't want to get married.)

Brian doesn't look 72 at all and Yugan looks closer to her 40s, so they seem like a match that wouldn't be looked at as much on the street.
They also seem like a very caring couple and normal. It's not a sugar daddy situation.

Love is a many splendored thing. I don't have the impression that these men are sugar daddies. I'm 20 years older than my husband, and over the years I have learned that love is much more than sex. In the beginning it's definitely overwhelming when it fits. But, with time it is about the mutual appreciation. In the beginning, I sometimes thought that I might be a sugar mum, especially because my husband is from a relatively poor country. But now we have been married for more than 17 years. There are so many things which unites us in the meantime. We have grand children for which we are responsible as well.
The only thing you really have to consider is that one day this gap might be a big problem. As from a certain age your physical condition deteriorates. The partner has to be aware of this.
If you lower your carbs (esp. grains) you can last a lot longer and be healthier and sexier well into "old age.

They base their perception on what they have seen in the past, failing to understand that modern exercise and nutrition practices can not only help us live past 100 but also be in shape and move around independently well into our 90s and beyond. It makes no sense to forgo love on the basis that one might die soon or become decrepit soon when that really doesn't have to be the case.

I don't care what other people do and who they date (well, if both of them are over 18 of course). But I would like to give the advice to people to think about the time when your potential partner will be old. I have an aunt who has a husband who is 17 years old than her. She is a very active and seeminly young 66 year old but her husband is a badly aged 83 year old who needs to be taken care of. Now if she can travel at all, she has to do it with other people or alone.
Very understandable. As long as the couple talks about it and knows what they are getting into, then it’s fine. Definitely something to think about.
