- The most incredible love story I have ever heard is this week's video!
Jeanette met the Southern Thai Sulai in 1992 on Phi Phi island, in the South of Thailand. For the Swedish Jeanette, who came from close to the Arctic Circle, the tropical island at that time was a true paradise.
She saw Sulai for the first time when he was relaxing on the branches in the tree and for her he was a real jungle boy. After a few days they hung out together, they fell in love. In order to stay longer on Phi Phi island they bought an old second-hand longtail boat and started taking tourists out for trips.
But after 7 months, Jeanette's parents asked her to come back. To make things even worse, she found out she was pregnant with Sulai's baby.
What happened in the next few years could be the next Hollywood movie. Get your tissues out and get ready to shed some tears! This story will make you cry and cry and cry! But the happy ending couldn't get any better.

This is amazing. we met Sulai, my ex-husband and I, in early 98. We spent 2 weeks on PhiPhi and had the joy of getting to know Sulai. He was so nice, and he was really happy to learn that we are from Denmark, because it made him feel a little closer to Jeanette. He talked about her all the time, and he wanted to learn about Scandinavia, and said: Some day I will go to Sweden and be with Jeanette. The day we were leaving, he had promised to see us off, but he had to go out on his boat with some turists, so we never got to say goodbye. Many years have passed, but we never forgot Sulai and his story about Jeanette. And have often talked about what might have happened to him. Its not a really positive story... He left his daughters in Italy without a father, she is away from her children... Maybe they are happy, but they are not responsabile. When you have children, you dont go to the other side of the world for love. He is not a good father, and I doubt about her motherhood skills.
Her daughter is so supportive, I am glad that they are back together again after very long time.

Isn't it insane that there was a time when social constricts forbode cross cultural love and happiness and these two beautiful people missed out on their life together for 23 years. This is such a beautiful story! My husband and I have a story somewhat similar but with 4 years apart compared to 23! We met in Australia in 2007 and reconnected in 2011 in Europe. I am from Canada, he is from Belgium..at 20 years old a relationship like that seemed impossible. But when we reconnected in 2011, that was it for both of us .though he always told his family about the girl he loves in Canada. Fast forward 11 years later, we live in Canada and have a beautiful 2 year old little girl. I love the message of living in the moment. I had to watch this because I too, reunited with my jr.high/high school sweetheart after 42 years and we are getting married this July 2023. I actually cried when I was watching this. I fell in love for the first time when I was 20 and I have never stopped loving that woman. When we separated we promised to meet again and grow old together. I am still waiting and I still love her more. My advice to all young people is " Hold on to your first love with everything you have."
I waited , we were very close to getting back but he moved before we got a chance. We made plans for me to go see him for his birthday and if everything went well with him then I would move there but it took 6 weeks from his arrival there for him to ignore and ghost me completely after I told him I was having some health issues. 7 months later I found out he was dating someone else. My advice to you is....live your life to the fullest...don't wait on anyone....if is meant to be...it will be without you waiting. Date and love anyone who comes in your live as they deserve.... You might miss the real one.
