in all of that hard-rock and metal scene of the early 80ties, i loved these guys so much... bought all of their offcial releases back than... delayed, bc, of/in germany... i remember seeing the one with "fat mama + guitar" on the cover at my favorite record shop back (WOM in munich, germany), instant buy... never dissapointed... looking back at this , almost 40 years for me... my eyes are wet...

Great Band! Saw them at Weedsport N.Y. It was supposed to be, Ratt, Twisted Sister and Mama's Boys but Twisted cancelled for some reason, but it turned out nice because Ratt and Mama's played longer sets, and The McManus Boys won over the crowd for sure and sat behind their merch, table and signed my t-shirt, great guys, great memories. The 28.30 to 30.30ish is a bit of music that ticks all the boxes for me. I remember it on the beside of hard n loud live in Dallas if I am not mistaken. Pat makes a great noise and Tommy's power house drumming. So sad that he going to get so ill. Their gigs mid80s in Dublin (SFX) were historical occasions that will always bring good memories. Thanks for putting this on. Love it.

I went to a few of those SFX gigs in the 80s. It was really a fantastic atmosphere each time. The last time I saw them was in the Marquee club in London in 1989. They had a singer then - better voice than John but it didn’t quite work - they lost the feel the band had previously.

I saw Mamas Boys at the Astoria London around 1987 or 1988, and met up with Tommy for a good chat. Lovely guy. Yes, they were a great band at that time, but they could have been better. IMHO , the vocals were the letdown. He really struggles with the high notes, and you feel it

At least for me Mama's Boys should be higher than Motley Crue, Cinderella, WASP, Twisted Sister, Skid Row AMD Manu others. Maybe is not at the level of Maiden, Priest, Ac/dc but are enough good.
