What I love about these old shows was that you don't see a single fucking cell phone.....nothing but true metalheads rocking out
I'm 56 years old, and my first rock album I ever bought was Stay Hungry.... I still enjoy it, and Dee's defense of his music at the congress is one of the greatest things I've ever seen.
Yeah I just learned of that hearing taking place, the Tipper Gore comment was HILARIOUS and ALSO BLOODY BRILLIANT in the way he explained how there music isnt geared toward a negative life style but that the songs have an individual meaning with each one they write and giving fans a glance into there lives.
Is it just me or doesn't this music bring you back to an era of greatness and happiness!
you mean your childhood/teen years lmao
Indeed! I was 8 yo, my first cassette. Stay Hungry is a masterpiece 🤘🏼♥️
No it's not just you....dont listen to the millenial trolls.
Peace.
The real truth is there hasnt been any great rock and roll in a long time. The music powers decided to abandon it in favor of hip hop, crossover country and pop. There is still good metal coming out of Europe but this kind of music is gone unless these bands are still putting out albums

watched this on MTV in the summer of 84 right before starting the 10th grade. awesome.
53 and still watching and listening

me too😁
still watching, full volum
I'm so old 😂 My mom rented a VCR and this VHS tape for one it my birthday parties.
Lol
Lol I still have my vcr n tapes 😂
I'm so old that I caught this tour twice at the age of 13
i had the stay hungry home video on betamax
@@ryantunks Well that's kind of awesome! 🤘😂
Love the way they played most of the songs faster than on record.
I'm a middle-aged guy from Finland. I still remember the first time I heard Stay Hungry when I was twelve and I still get spine chills from this shit!
Thank you so much TS!!
I`m 53 from Norway and I didn`t understand the satire so I just never got into them. I watched the documentary last year and now I`m a fan.
Me and my friends wore this album out back in 1984. I still know the lyrics word for word to every song.
I burned through a couple of cassette tapes myself 🤘🤘
🤘SMF FOR LIFE🤘
@@jonny555ive man i feel that. i wore out that tape, and kill em all so many times i had to take the pressure pads out of blanks to fix them.

@@-roejogan- Forgive me, but what does that mean?
I remember being 14 when this was done and I thought TS was dead serious with this look so I never got into them.
One of the greatest bands of all time!! 🏆🎼🎤🎶🎸🎵🥁🏆
One of the tightest bands ever on stage. I love hearing them live.

You can't stop rock 'n' roll
Back in the late '70's these guys ruled the tri-state (NY, CT, NJ) club/bar scene. They were AMAZING....I spent many a night in Newburgh at Gemini North about 10 feet from Dee's face - just getting blown away. LOVE YOU GUYS
"Ace in the Hole"....."The Chance" in Poughkeepsie..".Mud Hudson civic center".. "Rumors "."Orange County Speedway" etc. ..I went to just about every venue too. Saw Dee and Mark at the Newburgh Mall Arcade and met them. Awesome times man. I was just 18 when they released their first single "Under The Blade" . At every club show.... Dee scared the shit out of us and demanded we yell with our fists in the air!! We complied!!
@@lastcall170 here we go baby if you got a fist stick it in the air yea this night here at the orange pavilion in San berdo he told a dude you throw that bottle I come out there and kick your ass myself and he stomped on a dudes hand for tearing tassels of his costume he was wearing coolest mf I met in my life though that was the best weekend of my life going to this concert then filming were not gonna take it video and having lunch and hanging with the band the next day yep dee is a class act
tri state is known as PA Nj and Delaware..not sure where you're from
They may look like a glam band, but they play PURE F*CKING HEAVY METAL!!!
I think you mean pop and roll!
@@redsev4484 You can´t stop rock n roll, Nirva-Slipk "heavy- guy"
Punk actually. Sounds like GBH
First time actually listening to TS beyond the "hits". This is good rock and roll!
Muito soommmmmmmmmmmm
Rock is still alive and nothing can stop it,the band needs to come back and play again
The singer reminds me about "Lola", The Kinks" song....
You gotta love Twisted Sister! I was 13 when I discovered them, 40 years later, and I'm still Rockin TWISTED SISTER ❤🤘
Same here mate except I'm 55
@@michaelvrckoff6966 Im also 55. One thing I always notice when I see concert footage from back in the day compared to more recent ones. See how the audience is right up on stage? You don't see that anymore. Front row used to mean front row, not 30 feet away. I have so many good memories working my way up to the front and being a few feet away from the band and headbanging. I almost feel sorry for the kids now.
@@pauld6222don’t feel sorry for the kids. They are recording the whole thing on their phones , missing the whole live performance and watching it on Facebook the next day. They are sending selfies the whole concert of them at the concert. Kids are pathetic.
the same here
I was 11 years old when I first heard them. Fifty years old now. Still banging my head.
My Mum bought this for me on VHS for my 14th Birthday!
R.I.P Mum......

Twisted Sister did so much in the 80s ..and Dee Snider is one of the best front men in rock..
March 85, Melbourne, Australia. 14 years old seeing an international gig for the first time. Totally blown away when that huge mop of yellow hair came bouncing out onto the stage opening the set with Stay Hungry! Jay Jay and Eddie duelling guitar attack, memories that will keep me grinning forever. One the greatest nights of my childhood. Saw Maiden at the same venue 2 months later, World Slavery Tour 😊
I was at both those gigs but also saw Maiden in 82 at the Palais Theatre in St Kilda.
I was in high school couldn't afford the ticket got so lucky walking through the old city square found $100 the old big white note on the steps unbelievable ended up buying the pink TS shirt at the gig 🤣🤣 yeah saw Maiden as well got free tickets on the Friday night PBS metal show with Andy Accept 🥃
I saw this tour. Twisted opened for Iron Maiden when I saw them. I saw them at Lawlor events center in Reno Nevada. It was a small place but both bands put out like they were playing in New York or LA. Dee was on fire. He couldn't have been better if he tried. One great show.
I was one of the lucky metal heads that got to see this tour. Twisted Sister opened for Iron Maiden in Cincinnati, Ohio at the Gardens. What an amazing show. All 4 of my kids like metal because of Twisted Sister.
Seen them on the same tour with maiden here in Winnipeg, Canada.
Same tour…..Halifax N.S. Powerslave tour
One of the best shows ever. So damn proud to have and understand metal music in my life .
Hell yeah! Twisted Sister.... One of the best bands from back in the day when metal ruled the world! I miss them days! Miss you A.J. Pero! Awesome heavy drums!

Thank you! Very useful.
One of the best live bands i have ever seen, and i have seen some legendary bands.
Same here
I missed them as TS,I saw them as Bent Brother, but they look sick and intense as TS,that had to be way better
This band was such a huge part of my youth. Thank you for inspiring me to ROCK and thank you Dee for protecting our rights to do so!
This started it all for me. One of the greatest live bands. AJ was like a steam roller. Perfect mix
Thank you Dee and all the members of Twisted sister! You saved my life when i was a kid in the middle of the 80s ❤ Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪🤘
Prime Twisted Sister! You can tell they just got done recording Stay Hungry it sounds just like the album. Dee is so strong and even the rest of the bands back up vocals are tight!!! Wish i could of seen them on this tour 84!!
AHH yes.. I saw them Once.. Maybe someday ill tell the story.. I was like 16 LOL.. On a bus.. heading for NYC.. was after Stay Hungry.. Ahh man .. thinking back,,
Well, this MTV speciel have tons of overdubbs. The Vocals is not live during the verses of "under the blade". Even jay jays guitar solo is overdubbed. If you look close you can see him playing totaly different on the fretbord vs the sound on that song. But you know what? It does'nt matter, This show is briliant! 🤘
I remember watching this on MTV when they aired it, late on Saturday night and was so excited since I love this band, and this album! I still have it on a VHS tape somewhere in my house, lol
Best Concert Ever In The World! 🤘🔥⚡!!!
70s Hard Rock Is What Made Heavy Metal Around The Late 70s! 🔥🔥🔥
Im telling you now there are no more concerts like this where every member is playing live and trying to stay in sync. This is greatness ❤️
Iron maiden still play like this and they are getting on a bit , but I totally agree with what you are getting at .
they sound amazing.
If you think this concert is not overdubbed then you gotta lot to learn
Absolutely nothing is the same than in those days.
Welcome to the new level of slavery 2023 and worsening.
@@petittrainguernsey3297 this concert isn't over dubbed it is cut up and lots taken out like when dee told this dude you throw another bottle I'm gonna beat your ass myself lol but they were tight that night trust me it was 40yrs ago and I still remember how tight they were or how hungry they were I should say
The experience that made me a fan so many years ago! One of the best live performances ever captured on video!
I remember seeing TS open for Maiden , Dec. 10th 1984 in Seattle, Washington.
THAT was an amazing concert
Was my first time also I also got to see them 2 other times a forever great fan favorite live show
I seen them in VanFUCKINcouver the night before
so glad to see this gig is put up, i used to have the vhs of this wish i still had it, smf all the way
I was there! Got free tickets from the radio station. Good Times!
Awesome
One of the most underrated bands Period. Great music great vocals. They ROCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just watched a live proformance 2 years earlier from this and the difference is night and day.
They sound SO much reformed, the vocals are so tight and more in tuned with each other.
But they sound SOFA KING GODD in any timeline !!!!!
🤘SMF FOR LIFE🤘
This TS Tour opened for Iron Maiden on the Powerslave Tour, It was Amazing!
..... and the difference is Twisted Sister never put out a bad album, don't get me wrong- I was a huge Iron Maiden fan but by the time Live after death was released, their best work was behind them, Number of the beast & Powerslave were genuinely Epic albums!! I still listen to TS and smile like a kid looking in a toyshop window at Christmas. I never would have thought there would have been a day that I'd have said ' I don't listen to 'Maiden much there days' 😕😞. I wish Twisted Sister had stayed together longer & released more stuff....but it makes videos like this all the more special.
I saw this tour in Lakeland Florida. Dokken and TS opened for Iron Maiden Great night.
I saw TS open for Iron Maiden in Columbia, SC great show
NashvilleTn.Feb.?? -1985. They opened up for Iron Maiden.
Well, this was my first concert. I went to see TS, but Maiden came on after and holy shit. Still love TS but became a fan of Maiden that night. Still though, Dee Snider is a great front man and crowd hype was great.
Masters of heavy metal!!!🤟
Dee Snider's testimony to congress is accepted by academics. The man made history, and TW is still kicking ass.
Recent comments seems like he joined the left anyway.. The same people he fought against
@@acw2237 Within the last 15-20 years, i've been questioning the possibility of mind control and brainwashing. It's gotten worse since the 2016 election. Ever since, we have been fighting with each other. People are losing friends, families are being divided and celebrities are losing fans all because of what political side they associate themselves with.

Al Gore against Dee Snider was my Favorite battle of all time.
Censorship is more popular than ever. Free speech is dying.
Thanks for this jewel! When I was 8 yo my dad bought me my first cassette, Stay Hungry. You really blew my brain, heart, everything! I thought "I wanna rock! I wanna do that sh*t!" And I'm still doing it. You're one of the reasons that I'm still playing guitar. Thank you for that 🤘🏼♥️
Damn dee is a powerhouse of a singer and front man
Iron Maiden had to work even harder having these guys as a opening act. Saw this show at Pine Knob Mi what a fantastic night of music!
Hahaha, Twisted sister is a great band...... But, no one would make Maiden "have to work harder"
Bruce and the boys got it on lock.
No one can touch them in my opinion.
🤘UP THE IRONS🤘
True
Twisted Sister better ( my opinion )
one of the best live performances
TS was a local bar band when I was a kid. Saw them in a club called Gemini 2 in Yorktown Hts. NY as much as I could, they were best live show in town.
I bought this on video back in the day brilliant days 👍
как можно быть на столько охурменными?..🥺❤️
I love love this band. Total kick ass!!! As a kid I really got into Twisted.
As A Child, I Am In That Stage Right Now
Twisted Sister paid their dues before Stay Hungry made them huge. Hard work and dedication will pay off most of the time. 🤘🤘
I have this VHS tape in my collection. I love it...
OMG The bassist at 15:51 is so kickass! I remember seeing them on this tour..I thought the bassist looked like the drag queen you did NOT want to mess with! He was so badass! Great show..but the most awesome thing was that Dee came out afterwards and greeted all the fans along the barricade. He wanted to meet us!! Never seen that before. Love you Dee! Respect!
💪Aguante Twisted Sister!.
From Isla Mala, Juan Lacaze,Colonia, Uruguay!!!.
They are so fucking great!!
I still have this on a vhs tape I recorded off of MTV Saturday night concerts. Awesome show!!!!!
Bloody hell, listen to The Animal's bass. Whoever was the knob twiddler at this show did an excellent job, a perfect mix 🤘
Especially during I want to rock. \m/
I’m sure it was recorded in a tape truck and mixed at a studio. As these things are.
That would be Geoff Workman (he also engineered and mixed “Stay Hungry”)
Really? all I hear is snare...
OO yea the BASS was Awesome !
Saw this tour twice in six months. Once they headlined with y&t and dokken. The second time they opened for iron maiden powerslave. Kick ass both times.
Very lucky guy!!!
The Maiden show was really good . And it didn’t feel like a contest , everyone was great at what they did .
Me too!
New Haven Coliseum with Dokken/ Y&T
and Hartford Civic Center with Maiden.
I saw them that time in Hamburg. A concert I will never forget. After the last encore no one ( really no one) leaves. The crew take down amps and the drums. Still no one leaves. The crowed screamed for more. After some time Dee came out. The crew build everything and they played another time „ we re not gonna take it“ . I never saw something like that in more than 100 concerts.
I was there that night for the concert and the next day for the We're Not Going To Take It music video shoot. Good times at the Orange Show!
God damn! MEMORIES!!!! Atlanta, November, 1984.
I thought its Feb. 1985 at the Omni... Great show..
Thanks to Aj Pero, he created the most notorious drum beat ever. RIP AJ
Stay Hungry was my first T S album when I was 15 in '84. That lead me to looking for all TS albums, and I got all of them.
My neighborhood has many memories with this concert LOL.
Thanks for loading this video ... you just made my month seriously.. great show I was there .. first metal concert I went to
This is one of the best bands in the world
Ha, ha, ha, my baby...
Now drink your feeding bottle.
Dee's performance on stage is one of a kind,, i used togrow up listenning to TWISTED SISTER ... FOREVER TWISTEDDDDD.
My dad took me and my buddies to the Cap Centre in his cop car to see TS and Maiden in 85!!!!!🤘
Damn!!! The whole band is tight A.F.!!! Never realized "Stay Hungry" was on the cusp of a Thrash Metal song!!! The drums sound like something Lars would be thumping! Freaking LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this band! "Burn In Hell" still sounds as evil as the very 1st day I heard in 1984. Long Live the Mighty Twisted Sister and the Metal Icon Dee Snider! \m/
Lars isn't a great drummer, the drummer from twisted sister is amazing.. look him up
These SMFs are very NWOBHM influenced just like mighty Metallica is
Stay Hungry and Burn in Hell are my 2 favorite TS songs 🤘🤘
Not just dee yoi said it yourself aj pero was a great drummer Eddie was a soft spoken guy but he played with feeling and emotion like in the price jay Jay on the other hand just rocked I use to think he was really ace freeley looks and plays like him but mark Mendoza truly was an animal I have never seen anybody play like him he beat the hell out of that bass

Where are they now, the broken heroes
I got this on VHS for my 12th birthday. I popped it in my VCR and my mom was sitting next to me and the first words out of Dee's mouth were...We are Twisted Fucking Sister. My mom hopped off the couch like jamie Sommers and shut off the T.V LOL. my dad let me watch it when my mom went to bed
That's funny.
For me it was my 15th birthday.
....yeah that version seems nowhere to be found on YT unfortunately.... still have the vhs

I had this concert on Betamax video in 1984 when I was learning how to play drums. Watched it everyday. AJ PERO was a great inspiration! 🤘
I was a lucky person from Eastern Europe who had the chance to see this gig on MTV in 84, I was 15 and since then my opinion have not changed, they were one of the best live heavy metal bands on stage. I seen twisted sister opening up for Ratt , when Ratt first came out , and they took over Ratts concert, they were freaking awesome, I don’t know if they were asked to come back out , but they came out when Ratt sang round n round , and got the crowd going, been a twisted sister fan ever since
When I was 5 I saw ‘I wanna rock’ on Saturday Morning Video Hits on TV. Loved it straight away. Then I saw they were coming to Australia and I begged my Dad to take me to their concert but unfortunately Mum and Dad decided I was too young. As a compromise, they bought me an EP with I Wanna Rock and The Kids are Back. I was happy enough. Still, never got to see them live. Shame. Great performers!! Still get into their tunes now and I’m 42.

Twisted sister, thanks for everything. One day I came across your music and it LITERALLY turned my world upside down. Before that, I listened to Malabar, Kiss, Metallica, Tull, but of all of them it was you who chained me, I have already learned the entire album "Stay hungry" and am switching to "You can't stop Rock'N'roll". Best comment here!
Great concert!!!
Fucking AJ was so beast. They're all great players, but for me... AJ gave them musical (live performance) credibility. He was the core of their live performances. Back then I was brutally hard on drummers and even then found nothing lacking in his playing.
Much admiration. 🤟🧙♂🤟
They sound awesome live!! WE’RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT!
They sound phenomenal!!!! No lip sync, no backing tracks!!! Sounds just the the album!!!! Love it.
IN LOVELY MEMORY OF Jay jay piero !! !!!
