I still can't believe they never broke through. I thought they were gonna be huge!! This was how you judged a Metal fan, whether they knew of Mamas Boys. Still is!!
Believe it or not, I got word about Mama's Boys on a late night/early morning T.V. show, which aired Fridays and Saturdays, in the '80s, called "Night Flight."
I can't believe they didn't become massive either. Saw them many times in the 80's, once supporting Thin Lizzy!. Have followed them since Official Bootleg. Spoke to Pat a couple of times - very unassuming, really nice guy and very talented.
You;re kidding me most where I live in Canada barely knew of these guys and to be honest I'm not that impressed their songs were all that good from what I'm watching again.
For some reason I thought of this band today, something brought back how much I loved there CDs.....seeing this live video just made my day..I prayed that the violin was gonna show up at the end...BRILLIANT
@Mad Mike yeah, sadly he had been battling leukaemia for a few years… I still see Pat now and then and have a good old chat… he is still playing as good as ever.
I have their LPs: Plug It In, Mama's Boys, and Power And Passion, and Growing Up The Hard Way on CD. Sad that Tommy passed away in 1994. Great bluesy hard rock!
John was so Hot back in the day! 🔥Thanks for the kiss at the autograph signing in Michigan 💋💋💋He and the brothers were so polite and sweet and under those shades are gorgeous blue eyes❤️
@@nonrevnosnibormetalbeerrev6251 yes of course but they , and I know Pat very well for nearly 40 years … see themselves as Irish.. have Irish nationally ( Irish passports ) same as myself….
I saw them at Schoolcraft College in Livonia Mi. Outside. This actually looks like it could be that show. Very similar if it isn’t same show. Nope. This a Japan show.
@Louise Malone Greeting from Japan. this show was "Super Rock '85 in Japan" held at O daiba, Tokyo. Filmed by Nihon TV and broadcast in a charity program, "24 hours television". Video package was issued by "Toei Video". In Tokyo, there is a heavy metal bar, where you can watch the video according to your request.
Saw them in Slane 1981... supporting Thin Lizzy ...Two great Irish rock bands...Standing the test of time,...

Mama’s Boys were one of my favourite discoveries when I was a teen. Wish I could have seen them!
Una de las mejores bandas en los 80s.Mamas Boys estamos locos ahora.
Back in the days when bands were real. They wrote their own songs and could actually play them live. Miss those days.
Another band that really should have been bigger in the states.
Pat McManus still plays their songs in his set,a brilliant musician.
Still brilliant after all these years.
A GREAT BAND AND IN MY OPINION THEIR BEST SONG!
Hard to believe it's 20 years ago today Tommy McManus passed away. Saw them a few times and they always played a brilliant set.
Even harder to believe it's 27 years now!! God bless his soul 🙏
@Mad Mike yeah, sadly he had been battling leukaemia for a few years… I still see Pat now and then and have a good old chat… he is still playing as good as ever.
I love this video and how the guitarist came out doing a solo with the violin.
最高のパホーマンス、アースシェイカーの次に出るはずがスティングのワガママで約12時間後のステージでこのライブ(トミーが未成年だった為)この朝のステージ涙がでながら見た
I have their LPs: Plug It In, Mama's Boys, and Power And Passion, and Growing Up The Hard Way on CD. Sad that Tommy passed away in 1994. Great bluesy hard rock!

Fukuoka. A long way from the Baggot Inn, 1982. Best heavy metal song ever IMO. The fiddle is amazing.
Quel bon groupe!!!! Un super souvenir , j'ai encore l'écharpe achetée lors d'un concert...que le temps passe. La bonne époque du hard rock!

The best rock band ever to come out of Ireland
Controversial! Thin lizzy best for me!

Seen them in Clifden town hall in 82. Connemara

Marquee in 1982. Unbelievable. RIP Tommy.

You know they are northern Irish?
@@nonrevnosnibormetalbeerrev6251 yup... Good Irish Catholic boys from county Tyrone .
@@Paul.in.Ireland correct but they are still from Northern Ireland which makes them British unless they were born in the South
