You’re welcome my friend. We retired the same year; 20 years, US Air Force for me. Thank you for your service my brother!
Hi Gino! You're definitely an early bird!what time do you go to bed? Thanks for the videos!
Say hi to Dazel! You getting up so early we don't get to see Dazel! Take care!
You’re welcome my friend. I’m usually sleeping by 8pm. I will tell Dazel you said hello. Take care.
As of roughly 3 months ago I decided to retire part-time in Thailand and part-time in the Philippines instead of full-time in the Philippines. And for various reasons I will not go into so as to not offend anyone. I suppose my point is that every foreigner needs to go with what feels best for them. So do explore southeast Asia. You might just discover that a combination of countries might best fit your retirement years.
Congratulations on your retirement to southeast Asia my friend. I totally agree; so much to see in southeast Asia. I love my visits to Thailand; love Thai food.
Why do you retire part time in both countries?
Only cheap when it comes to services like haircuts, plumbing and house repairs, gardeners and even maids and drivers. Internet and phones, as well as Netflix cheap. We pay $10 for Netflix and I pay $7 for Spotify per month. In the US these cost me alot. My cell phone bill was like $260 per month for 4 lines. Here we pay only like $75, less the mystery taxes youll see in the US . 😅
Yes; I definitely cut down on my monthly bills when I moved to the Philippines.
Hi Gino, I agree with the USD Cad: PhP conversion rate, however the Philippines imports almost everything, so guess what, things will just become more and more expensive. Yes we are still better off than the locals. I feel sorry for the locals, they are going to experience a spike in inflation.
I think that is why we are insulated some living here in the provinces than living in the cities. Products that we buy in the province like vegetables, fruits, and seafood don’t spike up so much like in the cities. We don’t have the transportation costs of moving the products from the provinces to the cities. I only really feel inflation when Dazel and I go to Iloilo City.
@@dazeltv1351 Thanks
@@FrankSouza-ss7cz You’re welcome my friend.
Big Mac meal in the US is $10-12 most places. Upward to $20 in CA
Wow!
Soon you will have to pay to breathe in CA
Ging, if I may ask, its always so quiet there. Is there a band on Karaoke and/or parties in your neighbourhood?
Sorry, Gino (autocorrect.. )
Loud music and karaoke are not allowed after 9pm in our community. No problem on the autocorrect; I get that too sometimes. Take care.
@@dazeltv1351 I like the loud music band after 2100 hrs but sometimes I'd like to no noise period...
Haircut here in Ohio $18 and they expect a tip on top of that as well.
A man's haircut here in California where I Live is $35 to $40 dollars depending on where you go. IT'S OUTRAGEOUS , God Bless You
GOOD MORNING MY BROTHER GINNO, THANK YOU FOR THE WOUNDERFUL INFORMATION AND VIDEO. I HAVE A QUESTION, HOW MUCH DOWN PAYMENT DID YOU NEED TO BUY YOUR HOUSE AND WHAT DO YOU NEED TO QUALIFY ? GOD BLESS YOU AND DAZLE AND LEANA AND YOUR FAMILY TOO ❤😊❤
Those are expensive haircuts.
@@raymondking1793 At the time, I put a $5k down payment on a $30k house. To get a house loan from Banco de Oro, I just had to provide proof of income (my monthly military pension statement). Take care and God bless. Here's a link to our video on buying our house: th-cam.com/video/Bw-MRQDv02I/w-d-xo.html
Thank You My Brother Ginno and God bless You and Dazle and Leana and your Family Too ❤😊❤
Gino, I'm ready to make a move splitting between US and the Pinas. I have a dual. Is the cost of living cheaper in Aklan vs QC? I'm also a vet so how about VA clinics nearby?
The cost of living in Aklan is way cheaper than Quezon City. Any of the provinces and most cities (Iloilo City, Dumaguete City, Angeles City) in the Philippines will be cheaper than Quezon City. The only VA facility in the Philippines is VA Manila Outpatient Clinic; they only treat service-connected disabilities.
Hey Gino, unbelievable pricing for the inexpensive items. Big Mac in the US is up 21%, french fries are up 44%, lol it was reported yesterday one McDonald’s was charging 18 USD for a big Mac meal absolutely nuts! Looking forward to having less and spending less in PI in the near future.! ✌🏻
I heard price on just about everything in the U.S is up! I can see why Americans are struggling to make ends meet. That is why so many Americans are headed to southeast Asia. Americans get so much more for their dollars here. See you in the Philippines soon my friend. ✌️
NO Burger King 😩 NO Poppies NO Red Lobster NO KFC ...I'm coming ...hehehe As always Ginno ..love yer Vidoes Blessings friend
Take you my friend. Stay blessed.
They have all the US fast food chain in PH if you live in big cities
Just asking, how much is the driver per month to hire ?
Good question my friend. Drivers in the provinces will be cheaper than drivers in the cities. Specially in Manila; will cost more. On average 14,000 pesos ($240) to 18,000 pesos ($310) a month for a full-time driver. Negotiable based on the driver’s experience and driver’s driving record. You would have to do your due diligence and vet your driver. Usually, drivers get hired by recommendation from friends or family. Many hire their Filipina’s relative as their driver.
Would be nice to hear your tagalog. You should be proud being pinoy.
This vlog is geared towards foreigners, not nationals from this country, soo, i have no idea, why are you suggesting him to speak tagalog, make no sense🥸
@@EvralTatum-Mcfield-ov2mi You don't know that his vlog is only for foreigners. It makes sense if you knew he was born in Manila.
I have to agree with EvralTatum-Mcfield on this one. Majority of our viewers are Americans and Canadians wanting/researching retirement in the Philippines. If I speak Tagalog on our vlogs; they won’t understand me or won’t feel comfortable contacting me for advice. Just because I speak English on our videos doesn’t mean I’m not proud being Filipino.

Everything seems cheaper if you got dollars man. LOL! If you have to really earn your living there it is not so easy purchasing things.
I agree my friend.
PH is heaven on earth for rich Filipinos only foreigners in PH can't own properties full business ownership & have very limited rights Foreigners can be naturalized PH citizens if born & raised in PH which is not your case Dazel I wonder why you aggrandize PH so much
I am just showing the Philippines as a good option for people retiring on a budget.
@@dazeltv1351 South American countries are also cheaper than USA & don't have such restrictions Why consider PH ?
@@josepanicucci8591smh
Everything is cheaper in the Philippines but how can Americans move their money to the Philippines because I heard that most of the business transactions are in cash only. Are there any updates or changes when it comes to sending money to the Philippines
If you get residency card SSRV retirement visa you can open PI bank account, transfer USA to PI bank
Americans usually use their ATM cards to get cash in the Philippines. Some also send money to themselves using online money transfer like Xoom, Remitly, or Western Union and pickup the money here. If you extend your tourist visa; at 60 days you are required to get the Alien Registration Card (ARC). Some banks will allow you to open a Philippine bank account with the ARC. You can also open a Philippine National Bank (PNB) in the U.S. (they have branches in California , Nevada, Texas, Illinois, New York, and Hawaii).
I did not know about the pmb banks in the us, screen shot this . Awesome info. Thank you
@@jamesalan1354 You're welcome my friend.
You mean Amazon Prime doesn't deliver free?😉 Can you say a word about tipping in general? Is it ever not appropriate, etc.
I haven’t ordered from Amazon; haven’t had a need for anything. Tipping is always appropriate and well appreciated. I don’t tip when restaurants put a service charge on my bill.
Tipping is an optional. But Filipino will be thankful and wont forget you if you tip them
@@dazeltv1351I always tip unless the service is absolutely horrible!
try $20 for the marginal haircut.
Wow! It has gotten more expensive to get a haircut. Hope all is well in Arizona my friend. Say hello to Eileen from us. Take care.
Yo Gino can I get 2 maids, one chained in bedroom and one to clean house,,,lol just clowning
I know you are joking my friend. But, I have to be respectful of domestic helpers. It is an honest profession.
