The Philippines can be an affordable place to live, particularly for those with budgeting experience. With a budget of $1,500 USD per month, you may be able to cover basic expenses and some leisure activities, like daily drinking. Tipping and financial gifts are discretionary and depend on your personal circumstances and cultural norms. I rarely see Filipino people tipping 🤔
Just found your channel and subscribed. That's a heck of a place for $413 all-in, especially considering that it's 3 bedrooms with enough room to make an office, theater-room, etc., if desired.
You know what your financial limitations are. Just need to control your expenses and adjust your activities accordingly and you should be good. Living below your means and saving up for emergencies, if you dont have any yet, are a good idea. You're doing good.
I'm a new subscriber to your channel. I came across you today and I'll be viewing your videos. I live in Bohol. Been there for 2 years now. You are definitely right about budgets. Everyone's spending habits are different so that will determine how much you will need to live on. Good luck with your channel
Congratulations on your six years. I will be celebrating 41 years June 27 but I plan on moving out there about four years. Hope I can find a nice place like that.
Hi,..I just found your channel and I subscribed to you. Great 👍 place for the money and great budget for the month with everything included. I heard that Valencia is a little cooler in temperature and a nice place to live also close to Dumageti. Can't wait to go and visit the Philippines and I want to check out that area of Valencia and also Dumageti. Thanks and keep up the great work.
You got a good deal my friend especially with all utilities included. looks like newer construction.... your landlord is smart not asking pie in the sky rent in order to be in a cash flow positive situation instead of sitting vacant and losing money
You should have two weeks canned food and drinking water supply anywhere you live in PH. Plus cash money for one months. If any calamity happens: typhoon, volcano, earthquakes or just a long black out - most services will be out. If there is no electric all banks, atms, creditcard machines - nothing works. Drinking water stations - they are also run on electric, even if they have generator they will run out of fuel after a day or two - and there will be no drinking water. And when calamity hits - water becomes in shortage nobody will share the water as it the "survival law" and government will take weeks to start bringing water and food and there willl be huge lines. So be always prepared, especially cash. PS: what I say that food you have in the apartment - there is a reason and you should add to the stash. And ask them bring 3-4 blue jugs of drinking water lock it up in the pantry.
All those concrete slab box townhouses anywhere in philippines i wouldn't touch for free no privacy at all and no room to yourself outside, i rent a nice 2br house on 300sqm fully gated and fenced with big yard and front porch for 15k rent
I prefer to live comfortably, rather than scrimping on expenditure. Owning property, having an income that exceeds our spending, eating/drinking what I like, educating the kids and not caring about bills. Good luck to you if that is the way you choose to live. I retired here to live in comfort.
You have a nice spot. Great summary and I agree about electricty it has been hot so its ok to bump up that cost. I use fans always and AC on and off. Is your 7,500P for the bike a rental payment or bike payment? My wife financed one bike when I was in Manila 63,000P for a Suzuki Smash (too small for me) and over 2 years payments it was 113,000P (I tried to buy it out to avoid interest BUT there was no buyout option). We then got a Honda Click and paid cash for 72,000P to avoid the very high interest payments here.
our air con runs whether im home or not i hate coming home to a hot house.my biggest bill hit 100.00 usd once most of the time its 80 USD when we are traveling is the only time my air is not running
If you got yourself a good filipina to cook you home meals your expenses would probably even come down lower. Instead of spending 15 USD for 3 meals a day you will probably pay about 15 USD a day for 2 people for 3 meals a day and eat better meals. She would save you money in other ways and clean your place. Some of those ladies who are around 25+ are very sexy and good at keeping house.
@@bigbearhugebear9018 I do a luxury international trip at least every month. My travel budget is higher than my total cost of living budget. I'd get a smaller place if I could! I'm never there
One heck of a place! You keep doing you Brent! I'll say this with your deciding... You already KNOW what your answer is. As soon as you agree with what you already know, all your stress will disappear! Works every time brother! Peace ☮
Nice video, I'm in Cebu but my lady is from Mindanao and I've been very curious about what to expect to spend for a nice three bedroom where i can walk outside and feel some soil between my toes. How is the electric grid there, are there many brownouts to be expected? I've experienced just two in just over a year in Cebu.
Hello. It’s been hot... how hot?? Here in southern Shikoku Japan, it often is 36~38C in the shade, sometimes periods when it’s low 40s. Humidity is very high, like 80%.
Does your landlord have any others that might come available? I'm in Dumaguete near Hypermart, and have to find somewhere more permanent within 4-5 weeks. Thanks.
Heh Brent that lid doesn’t look half bad on ya, kinda grows on you. Maybe now your search is over. But wait a minute, are you including the cost for your female companion?
I get your argument. Im debating on buying one but right now the negatives outweigh the positives for me at this time. For starters its a hassle taking it from one island to another and i plan on exploring new islands. #2 Because paperwork is such a hassle. Registration can take months and i myself still plan on seeing more countries for months at a time and dont want to leave it behind.
PH is not the ideal country for foreigners to settle foreigners in PH can't own properties full business ownership & have very limited rights foreigners can be naturalized PH citizens if born & raised in PH which is not the case of newcomers PH is heaven on earth for rich Filipinos only
That's why as a foreigner you don't go there for business. You go there for coasting / enjoying ur life since the cost of living from ur western income does the heavy lifting for you.

two bedroom for 430$ all included, no contract - this is actually a very very good deal especially for Duma.

Good luck with dumping the extra lb’s
I pay 27k plus utilities in the most prime area in cebu business park, studio only 28 square meters but very modern and brand new building
over paying driving up the market
How do you like living in a shoe box?
People moving to Asia from the west and wanting to live like they do in the west..

Renting a scooter for $125 a month !? You could buy a nice one less than $800
Do you get fires in the street included in the rent.
Great vid. Is the scooter rented or are u making payments?
Rented
400 USD for that place including bills is a damn bargain.
Awesome !! I only need a one bedroom place. Do you know how much smaller places cost ?
Depends. You really just gotta look

Yes. Pretty common here compared to cebu. Id say 1 a month since ive been here

It set a new record in manila last week at 38 i believe
congrats on the 6 years, you have it a little cooler in Valencia, no?
Maybe 5 degrees? Hard to say. Lately it’s been hot everywhere.
Not an ass wand. They are called bum guns.
What age did you retire at?
Does your landlord have any others that might come available? I'm in Dumaguete near Hypermart, and have to find somewhere more permanent within 4-5 weeks. Thanks.
Nothing but the apartment next door is vaccant. Its listed on air bnb
where are you in Valencia? im in liptong purok 3, they look like decent but really small units, how noisy are the neibours?
Cls homes. About 3 or 4 blocks up the mountain from the fire station The few that are here are very quiet. Not an issue at all.
So to sum up everything, like 900 or 1000 dollars a month?
Yes before entertaining
@@brentstrippin8867 Ok just basic expenses, thanks 👍
Where in the south are you from? I'm living in the mountains by Moalboal. Air Force vet from California
Oklahoma

Shes got her own money for that but i might splurge every now and then! 😂
Is that a bike payment or a rental?
Rental
How much is the bike in total?
7500 pesos. $131.
I am moving from the US is there a way to email you? I have many questions for you?
Go to Brent’s Trippin on fb. Send me a request and message me there
$5 per meal? Imagine you are mostly western type food
