I totally agree with you. Everytime I go home to the Philipines-specifically to my province I am shocked as how many of the local politicians can afford nice houses and swanky cars then I learn from my brothers that even our childhood playmates who did not come from wealth are suddenly wealthy only because they entered politics. They have become rich but our town is still suffering from deficient infrastructures. It´s really time people should realize that if their town and their personal circumstances have not improved it is because they have cast (sold) their votes to corrupt politicians. Tandaan ninyo walang mangogoyo kung hindi kayo magpapagoyo. Ganoon lang iyan ka simple.

If I am a multi-millionaire, I would rather choose to have a farm, maybe 5 hectares to 20 hectares farm in the South of Luzon, building it as a WORKING farm, with lots of fast-growing trees, free range chickens, pigs, goats, and cows...then, I will build my Spanish-inspired Mansion inside the farm.
