Thank you so much for the pass through explanation and demonstration. I'm still trying to decide what I want to vagabond in! I definitely wanted to be able to crawl through to the back because of weather and safety reasons. Especially at rest stops when I just get so tired I can't go further and need a little nap! Anxious to watch other videos and definitely will follow😊
AWESOME job with your truck build! I am always impressed with the effort you make to organize, the way you review your issues for repair and upgrades, and keep your space multi-functional for all of your needs with comfort, protection, and security a priority. I like the porthole window installed! It must feel good to be traveling again! Have fun out there! Happy Belated Birthday! Who knew you could be this good looking and forever young in your 40's again!😉 Must be from all that stargazing you do!😏
@@sherenedonnelly1617 Hi 😁 Thanks for the feedback. We have learned how to deal with small spaces and yes, we try our best to maximize. I hope I’m keeping the look in the 40 range. 🤪 Really glad to be back in the road. Friends in Houston are fun to hang with but eating out and cold beverages really increased. Time for some mountain hikes. 👍 Thanks for following along and commenting.
Great video. I have same truck and Leer topper and want to do a build. However I have a 40 gallon aux fuel tank installed in front of box. It is just below top of bed. But if I create a platform type bed, the clearance is so minimal from the top of the ceiling to my bed. Kind of claustrophobic…and not lots of room. Hmmm. Have to keep experimenting. I like the idea of sleeping in the bed as it is just me and don’t want to buy and travel with a bumper pull camper, as usually have a boat hooked up. Thank you for a great design video
What's up Troy, it's Randy... Randy Garner... It's been a while since you showed up in my feed... Good to see you 'Ol Friend... Killer setup Braaaah! Love it, this truck is bad ass, I tho7ght I liked the van, but yeah, this is suhweet! Take care Compadre and it's good to see you. Safe Travels Troy!
Hey Randy! Good to hear from you. I hope all is well your way, after Beryl plowed through the area. I’ve been checking in with friends/family and they seem ok, except for the power outages. Glad you liked the video. Yeah, the truck camper is pretty slick. Making my next video today. 👍
Yes, everything is working great with the truck. 9 months of testing in H-Town, now finally on the road. 👍 Yes, bought the fans on Amazon. I’m currently out, b-day and all, but I did put a link in the description to the fans and other items mentioned in this video. Thanks for watching. 😁👍
The evidence of lots of good research here. I remember the effort that went into this build. Your dad is a champ... happy for you that he's so willing. Kind of surprised that there weren't buddies on hand for the work... it sounds like they are playtime friends. As long as you've been at this and since you're celebrating "a big one", what is the long-range plan with all the money you saved on rent and utilities? The kind of mileage you put on in the last 9 months isn't sustainable for an F150. Do you have the next build on the drawing board? Land and a tiny home? Any legacy?
Yep, my Dad and I had a blast once again doing this, our 2nd build. I have no plans on the drawing board from the next build and don’t have plans for land right now. I expect to travel in this truck for at least the next 5 years. Most of the heavy work was done at my Dad’s place in the Austin Tx area and all my friends live in Houston Tx, so they weren’t available to help on the build. I’ve been on the road in the truck for a little over a week now and I’m loving it. More to come…..well, that’s the plan, but you know me. 😜
Happy Birthday Mr Troy. We are headed to Death Valley on the July 4th weekend. Scott oh, edit: I think your Astro was light-years better as far as getting in and out of the vehicles. I plan on buying a high-roof Promaster someday so I will have ease of entering and existing. It will be easier to change clothing. I would get clasiphobic with any roof lower than my Astro.
For your pass thru into your living area. Do you have like a rubber boot between your is between your truck cab and the living area. Thinning about inclement weather and climate control. If so, where did you get it? I'm looking for 1 now for my Tundra
Hi there. Yes, there is a an accordion boot between the cab area and camper area. I’ve linked to it in the description of this video, along with other things mentioned in the video. Also, here is the full video of our install process for the boot. Should be very helpful as we learned a lot during the process. Good luck, if you go for it. Thanks for watching. 👍 th-cam.com/video/iFBXqPyk4ts/w-d-xo.htmlsi=X8TTfYPBUa4phscq
Haha! Close, very close. It’s actually an Anbernic RG35XX SP, which is quite a mouthful. I just call it Flippy. 😀 It’s a re-imagining of the classic GBA SP from 20 years ago. Basically a retro handheld, but much more powerful than the old GBA SP and can play multiple consoles. I was playing BOF2 in the video. Did you have an SP growing up? Thanks for checking out the video.
@@TravelingTroy good deal! I’ve seen that one, but haven’t gone down the emulator route just yet. That’s cool to learn you like some classic video games. I’ve been getting back into playing older video games over the last few years (on original hardware so far). That thing is probably perfect for van/truck life since it takes up almost no space! I’ve never played any BOF games, but got any game recommendations?? I’ve been playing the Game Boy Color port of Toobin’ lately (a pretty fun and goofy game), along with a lot of DKC and Smash Bros Edit: and yes, I did have an SP growing up and loved it! Gave it to a friend somewhere along the way, but I just repurchased one earlier this year and I’m having a blast
@@milp00l Yeah, Flippy is great as a console. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to have some retro gaming on the road without taking up too much room or using too much power. Flippy does it all in a 3”x3” package. Crazy! I just got it, so I’m testing out different custom firmwares. Pros and cons to each. My main game system growing up was Sega Genesis, so all the Nintendo systems (consoles & handhelds) are alien to me, but I’m finally getting to see what I was missing. 👍👊

Happy Birthday Troy, I'm glad you're posting videos again.
Thanks! It’s gonna be a solo b-day, but I’m out and already meeting people. Should be fun. I’ll try to keep the videos coming. 😁

And good idea keeping that passenger seat open! I'm sure you've had many offers😊!
Great usage of the pass thru. The closet in the back seat idea was awsome. Saved so much room in the bed of the truck
Nicely done
Nice job on the build. Thanks for sharing. Happy Birthday!
Thanks for the b-day wishes! 😁 I appreciate the feedback on the build. 👍
Blessed Born Day weekend 2u wishing you many, many more years of pure happiness, enjoy
Thank you! I’ll keep plugging along and see if I can’t get a lot more b-days in. 😁 Have a great weekend!
That’s an awesome build! Love the pass though! Great if you had to get out of a spot in an emergency situation or pouring rain storm! 👍🏻🇨🇦

Yoga can help keep ya limber
For sure! I need to keep limber for my daily crawl throughs from cab to camper and back. Haha! It’s working out though. 👍
