Your truck cabin is perfect! Also wanted to say you have a terrific way of presenting that is calm, funny, a bit quirky and all combined with the perfect amount of information. Your "presence" is great. Best wishes on your TH-cam channel!
Took the words right out of my mouth! I was about to leave almost that exact comment. Going along, listening, getting all the information I really wanted, enjoying every moment almost hypnotized into a relaxed trance, yet fully aware and understanding every word and comment you were saying completely enjoyable , you definitely have a gift for the narrative in my opinion thank you very much for this informative and at the same time relaxing video . Again thank you
Someone may have suggested this but I’ll throw it out there - leave a “service loop” on all your wiring. A little extra in case you need a splice, or something breaks. You’ll see those on telephone poles. There’s always a loop of wire they can use to fix a broken connection, or to splice. Nice work, and great videography too! Be safe..
I'm a carpenter and I think your build is close to what I would do. Love the high top, some shelves along the walls with brace along the front to keep things from falling out. Can good's, 😎, small ideas . Sconce lighting for the homey look, hooks to hang stuff, a warming picture 🖼️ on the wall. Don't be afraid to spruce it up. It's really quite nice 👍. Impressive.🏠
Looks great. I'm impressed with your adventurous spirit. Your build is cute, you're cute, and you're bush broke. That's a good quality in a woman. Especially in the woods 😊
Wow, this looks absolutely amazing my friend! Definitely has that cabin vibe to it for sure. You absolutely knocked it out of the park with the designing and building of this! What's equally impressive is that this was your first build... extremely well done! Love your addition of the "recliner" too 😉 Absolutely stellar video by the way 👌 Proud to be a member of your growing community here Woodsy! P.S. Huge props to you for giving Brooke credit for the inspiration of the doors. You're a class act my friend 👍
Nice job hun!! I did my first truck a few years ago and decked it out, loved it! Unfortunately, a 94 year old gentleman t-boned it and then swirled around and hit it again, totaled. I just got the replacement and working on it now! Keep inspiring. John 3:16!
It's perfect! This is something I will eventually do in my future. Looking forward to that day. In the mean time I'll be looking to youtube to build my own cabin for my truck. It was such a pleasure to watch your journey and hope I will be able to see more.
You really did a great build. I do have a question, people often say they don't like cooking in their van, but for me I love cooking in my van, I've lived in my van for 9 years and cooking in it is my happy place.
Thanks so much for your comment. I’m so glad you like cooking in your van! I think if I had a bit more room I would have put in a place to cook. It’s just so tiny that I thought it would be a hazard to add it. Happy camping to you!!! 🍳
Love your build!!! Simple, practical and definitely a cabin vibe. Having that long open counter does give you better options for use. Well done. Agreed that adding a more fortified/secured door would be a must if you leave your tailgate down while out camping. Adventure on!!!
Hi there!!! Thanks for your feedback and kind words. It’s wonderful to hear when people like what you’ve made. And I agree, I need to beef up the lock in the door. Might just be a video in the future. Cheers!!
The van is a 2007 Chevy Express, and used as a mobile bike shop at times. So that is the problem, as I have tires hanging off the walls most of the summer, simply so that I'm not spending a lot of time loading/unloading. I definitely do want to finish off the walls, then again... tires HA! I may just start with the bed, adn finish off a box over one of the wheel wells. Although I am retired, I still have the shop open part time, and in a bit (whatever that is) will simply close it. So truthfully, it will be very difficult to do anything while the shop is still open. HA! I like the ideas though, and like you, have watched a TON of videos, with of course yours being my favorite.
You came across my you tube feed because of your awesome build. I am subscribing because of that and because of the cribbage board in your drawer. I've been playing cribbage since I was 7 years old, 60 years, and know that cribbage players usually have something interesting to say. Also, I spend a lot of time camping and sleeping in my pickup, it's my favorite thing to do.
Awe, thanks for your kind words. I love to hear that you are out adventuring in your truck! I must say I’m a bit new to cribbage and only learned a couple years ago but I’m glad I know how to play!! Glad to have you here!

A true masterpiece you built !! I see everyone saying simple but honestly it's kind of complicated to be able to puzzle in perfectly all those different components you have working together to create that highly functional space. You took it to the next level though aesthetically beautiful and looks like it will last a long time with the materials you used. I have a minivan no build I just don't have the skills or the patience to put something together also for me it was important to be able to easily convert back to a family van in case I had to ever sell the van. I do have a box trailer I would love to put a build in it but it will probably end up with no build as well. Thank you for sharing your wonderful camper !! You hit the ball out of the atmosphere there
Awe, shucks! Thank you for your gushing compliment. I’m so glad you liked it! I think no build conversations are so smart. Way to go. Stay safe and happy camping!!
Nice build 👏👏 I did a 10x6 tiny home trailer last summer. It was my first tiny home build and I’ve been building things for years. I should have done it long ago. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever built.
I have just now come across your channel and am I glad. I have a pickup with a aluminum topper which i use for camping. I have not done any building of the inside other than a very simple frame for my bed. I love what you have done with your "cabin" and will quite possibly use some of your ideas. I actually have a stack of shiplap lumber that would work perfectly for he interior making mine a bit of a cabin as well. I will now go to the build video and watch it. Thanks for sharing.
Great job! I'm glad you have a toilet. It may be raining and then nature calls! It looks real nice. I like your outdoor kitchen but, yes,if it's raining,it may be a little difficult. Is that a fantastic fan on your roof? They're great. Looks like a nice weekender van for me. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks so much for your comments! I have a maxx air fan on the roof. It works great but I have had some leaky problems with it. Thanks for watching and happy adventuring!!!
Stunning job on the cabin, Woodsy, well done.👍 Just thinking for a safety feature, if you ever had a sketchy situation where you had to leave fast, I worry that you would have to leave the cabin and go outside to get into the drivers seat. That may not be safe. Why not make those windows behind your bed into sliders so you could use them to get to/ slide into the drivers seat without going outside? This way you stay away from any unsafe people/situations and can drive away safely. Just a thought! Safe travels.
Thanks so much for thinking about my safety! Just so happens they are sliders! I didn’t really show that feature in the tour my in a pinch I could probably slip through to the front cab. Thanks for your kind words and for watching!!
I was wondering the same thing Woodsy - being able to access the drivers seat in a hurry so your answer put my mind at ease . Have you tried it out yet - getting into the front from the back ?
What a fantastic cabin you have created. Thanks for sharing this. You have inspired me one day when my car needs replacing, I’m thinking of getting a pick up. For now I’m a tent camper. But my knees are dead from a bad car accident so one day setting up a tent will become impossible. Thanks for sharing your ideas. I follow girl in the woods too. She’s always an inspiration.

Cool build. I was kinda just gong along with the talking into the camera, heres my this and that.. though perked up at 18:07.. Ohkyaee. Whisky warmer 🥃 now shes not so boring.
My wife and I are looking for a way to save money on weekend trips around New England, so I've been looking at a LOT of DIY camper videos. I love your kitchen and pantry solution; it's my favorite design so far. I'm wondering if I could make something with a countertop that has two boards/layers connected by a piano hinge, and the top one flips over to cover the hallway area. I'd have to lower the countertop height so it matched the bed frame, but I think it would work. I like you choice to keep the water outside the cabin. I'll probably leave the sink and grey water outside as well. GREAT JOB! Thank you for sharing!
Ive been thinking about doing this with my truck for camping in Alaska just a few things I'd change for my use but overall for the tolls and talent you had nice build! I'm sure the mods to it will be even better as your tool selection grow! god Bless.
I have a pickup shell and would love to do this! I also love the Gypsy Wagon the, “Girl in the Woods”, made! I have a two wheel trailer for that too! You have given me the inspiration to do this!
I LOVE reading this!!! It sounds like you’re already on your way, I’m rooting for you! Take the next step, and then the next, and then the next. Before you know it, you’ll have the project completed. And, I too, like the vardo the Girls in the Woods made! Cheers!!
Hi and thanks for your kind words! I’m working on my winter setup now and will be releasing some videos about that soon. One thing I do is use a headed blanket, cuts down on the chill. I do have a little puppy and I hope to have him join me on my adventures. We are still training him but hopefully soon he will be able to join me!

Try rubbing the wooden slides on the kitchen with wax paper. It really helps the slides slide freely and not bind. Easy solution.

Love your build !
Glad I found you on you on TH-cam ! Love the kitchen / awning set up
Awe, thanks for you nice comments!! And thanks for watching!
Nice job! Love your cabin build. 👍
Awe, thanks so much for your kind words!
Ive been thinking about doing this with my truck for camping in Alaska just a few things I'd change for my use but overall for the tolls and talent you had nice build! I'm sure the mods to it will be even better as your tool selection grow! god Bless.
Thank you for you thoughtful words. And good luck on your Alaska adventures!!
Well done! Very nice job. Possible Bluetti 600 watts with a solar panel would complete your build.
You know, it was in my original plan. I have a jackery with portable solar panel instead. Works pretty well for me! Thanks for watching!! 😊
Just found your channel. Cool build. Impressive!
Thank you!!!
Cheers!!
Just discovered your channel and love it!!!!Subcribed
Awe, welcome. Glad you are here!!
I'd have a little gaz cooker: if only to make myself a good cuppa. How do you warm your cabin in the winter?
Get a pet! 💖
@@TheWoodsyWoman sounds good! 💯
