  • Hi guys 🙂
    Following the X1 and X1-Carbon 3D printers, Bambu Lab now has the new P1P.
    This new 3D printer is very similar to the X1-Series but with fewer features and therefore a smaller price.
    So, in this video, we will unbox this new machine and check all the details and features.
    We will also show you our first prints and upgrades and compare this printer with the previous X1-Series.

  • @Nahkranoth

    Really detailed review! What would be the steps towards preparing this printer to be PETG-friendly? I'm interested in replacing my I3 Mega X with this one since it has a lot of capabilities the latter one doesn't

    • @morbus5726

      it's already petg friendly. You just set the material to petg in the slicer.

    Hej hej...thx for this great Video.
    Can i ask you a question:
    I m on the way to buy one of these 2 printers.
    The
    Creality Ender 5 S1 with Sonic Pad for Klipper ( i can use it also on my other Printer)
    or
    A P1P (with a closed software/modding and Tuning based Comunity.. Its nor Marlin or Klipper)
    at the end ..
    its near by the same Price in Europe.
    i need input and help on this ..question:)

    • @ruiraptor
      @ruiraptor  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, in our opinion, the P1P is a better choice.

      @@ruiraptor but.. Why?

    • @robblly8112
      @robblly8112 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@badewannenwikinger2522 it’s really up to your preference… the P1P is a remarkable 3D printer, printing right out of the box at speeds no other printer at similar speeds can compete with (even the ender 5 s1 with klipper). the ender 5 s1 still recommends manual leveling, fine tuning, etc. while the P1P completes all that for you. really the only saving grace for the ender 5 s1 is the better screen, accounting for the fact that you’re buying a $500 printer with $200 software without any accessories incomparable to the P1P.
      if your budget allows, the X1 is a significant upgrade from the P1P at only ~$300 more but of course not everyone has that budget.

    I'm really considering this to accompany my ender 3 v2. My biggest worry about it is the noise and how proprietary it is. It still looks a lot more appealing to me than other core xy printers.
    Thanks for the review!

    • @3dPrintingMillennial
      @3dPrintingMillennial ปีที่แล้ว

      Your washing machine is proprietary. Do you complain about that? This is a badass machine, finished product.

    • @kylezakk
      @kylezakk ปีที่แล้ว

      @@3dPrintingMillennial I see your point but I'm very skeptical about a printer not needing any diy. And it makes repairs very difficult when everything is proprietary and closed off. Its the same reason why I'll never buy an apple product.

    • @3dPrintingMillennial
      @3dPrintingMillennial ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kylezakk they may be proprietary but they've been kind enough to develop a joint (customer-company) wiki for pretty much any issue that has developed thus far. Plus they honor warranties if they can't get you through a self fix.
      I get it though. Some people are die-hard FOSS heads. I love tinkering on my other machines but my X1C amazes me daily.

    • @robblly8112
      @robblly8112 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@3dPrintingMillennial I can understand why some people don’t like how proprietary the printer is (despite how surprising it still is). many people just don’t have the faith that some companies aren’t total evil corporations looking for the next way to steal cash. it can be hard to differentiate though and i can understand the concerns of a monopoly screwing over the consumers.
      I highly doubt BambuLab is going anywhere anytime, so that shouldn’t be apart of the concern

    Nice review! I have a question, the bambulab printers all have wifi, does that mean I can access it from anywhere in the world and start a print?

    • @ruiraptor
      @ruiraptor  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thanks for the comment. Yes, correct, you can access the printer anywhere since it's connected through the cloud.

    Do you need a glue to keep prints sticking to it?

    • @ruiraptor
      @ruiraptor  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, The recommendation from the manufacturer is that you don't need glue for most filaments (PLA for example) but you need to make sure that the plate is perfectly clean. We normally use glue as it's fail proof. You have more info here: eu.store.bambulab.com/products/bambu-dual-sided-textured-pei-plate

    Thank you for the detailed video, this is exactly what I was looking for. Just a question: does it allow to be controlled via LAN only, without dealing with 'the cloud'?
    I'm used to a MK3 controlled via Octoprint running on a Raspberry Pi (and Octopod on iOS), and while I don't mind having to use the slicer to control the printer from my computer, I'd prefer it to happen locally.

    • @ruiraptor

      The bambu can do it better with different settings. This was just a 17min benchy run. The prusa cannot make a 17min benchy as good as this one.
