Thank you for this much valuable explanation. By the way, I was that person who gladly ate just potatoes, or just rice, or just lentils, or just corn. In fact, such mono meals of just potatoes or rice or corn meal were normal meals where I grew up.
I've started to do this, after reading a book on Food Combining. I'm not doing it to lose weight, I don't need to do that as, if anything, I struggle to keep weight on. I tend to have porridge in the morning with blueberries and flax seed. Then lunch is now carbs like potato with salad vegetables. Dinner is protein like steak, fish or chicken with steamed greens. The worrying thing I've found though is that after my dinner of meat and veg and before bed, I can feel quite faint, a bit fuzzy headed and I'm not sure why. I do think I have a high calorie need and I don't eat any processed foods so I do my best to eat enough fruit, veg and carbs to keep going. The only processed thing I eat besides my porridge is organic oat biscuits and a few squares of dark chocolate which are my go to snacks but even this I'm trying to cut back on. I absolutely need meat as I went vegan for three years and became very ill, eating lentils, legumes, potatoes, veg, nuts and porridge. I would really like to do know what might be causing my evening lightheadedness? Could it be I need to have carbs before bed and not my protein and veg? 🤔 This is all new to me, this is just me trying to improve on my natural diet to as I'm still struggling at times for energy and being often hungry and brain fogged.
Very helpful. I needed to know why I got a belly ache after eating my raw vegan Hallowe’en treat of ground seeds and date sugar with a little water. I should have dropped the date sugar and water and squeeze me some orange juice instead.
Neither starches nor proteins one have a good flowers and complete profile, by themself. That's way they combine them. When I was into gym shit stuff I ate a lot of daily meat and my body required me to eat a lot more lettuce: almost 5-10 head a day! Now, with all that fruits, I don't feel attract to it
This was so useful. THANK YOU. Ok so now I know?? if I follow a recipe for salad dressing that has sesame seeds (or whatever fat) and dates but my salad has tomatoes in it, either leave the tomatoes out and eat later separately or use pineapple juice (or acidic fruit) instead of dates in the dressing. Am I understanding this correctly?? Hey what if a recipe calls for sundried tomatoes and dates in it (like a sauce/dressing to go over cucumber noodles) .. ?? I just flat out don't have to add the dates at all if I am fine with the savory taste being not sweeter or I can add pineapple juice (or other acidic fruit) to it instead. I have wondered about this so much how it was ok to add nuts/seeds with dates in dressing recipes.
not supposed to combine protein with carboydrate. The way I understsnd food combining was fruit alone in the morning then wait at least 3 hours you can go to carbohydrate ( includes vegetables,) with fat then you mudt wait at least 3 hour to digest before you switch to protein with a fat, but vegetable should not be esten with protein
This was mostly a useful video but the way you justified mixing some acidic fruits with avocado doesn't sound healthful.. from your videos on candida being caused by sugar getting trapped in the blood... would really like to hear your views on this as recurrent fungal infections have been a problem for me.
This was very interesting, thank you! I follow a mostly plant-based, high raw diet. I’m still a little confused about the difference between a “starch” food and a “sweet” food. Clearly potatoes are a starchy vegetable, but what about bananas, sweet potatoes, tiger nuts, eggplant, etc? How to know? Is there a guideline? Thank you!
Adding fats to fruit meals will worsen digestion, but it's dose-dependent. With one nut you probably won't even notice it. But consider adding it to your dinner salad dressing, instead. Hope that helps! -Frederik
Its not sweet fruit and fat thats thebrong combination. Its as his example says its acidic fruits (tomato) and sweet fruits that doesnt work. Also fresh fruit and dried fruit dont work.
There is no science for food combining. But I think it's harmless for people to try it out. I've heard some people do better with certain combinations better than others
Thats right there are no valid studies on this topic but I also experienced by myself that some combinations give me really bad colon cramps and eating the things alone don t. So its important to listen to your own body and think about what are things said in this video which could be true for your own life and digestion and figure it out 😊
This is good, thank you. I eat lots of fruit in the morning and then cooked starches and vegetables later in the day.
Same Here, Raw til four type of way :)

This was HUGELY helpful. Thank you.
In summary: Sweet fruits best by themselves. Starches good with veg but not acidic foods. Fats with acids are good.
Absolutely was helpful! Thank you so much! 5 stars
Thank you ❤
Totally helpful
Finally!!! You nailed it for me as a raw (mostly fruit) vegan. Thank you!!!
Very useful info! thank you

Very helpful! 😊
Definitely helpful! I didn't know that about acidic fruits with fats
Very helpful by having a visual in my mind of acidic fruit coupled with fatty nuts.
Very helpful!
Yes helpful

Are sundried tomatoes different than regular tomatoes in this sense?
thats basically what he said
Very helpful 👌
Despite being alkaline, correct me if Im wrong but how are avocados mucus forming?

Hey Doc! Love your content. Is your Pinky broken or am I trippin😂
How long should I wait to eat starches after a protein/fat meal?
Did you get an answer for this?
@@sanju_deep yes, about two to three hours after eating proteins/fat

sweet fruits is what he said. by starches he means cooked carbs
thank you! @@heartdisciple
I read the book and eat raw 80-10-10 but don’t remember is organic corn off the hygienic version of the diet?
HI What is savory? thanks so much! Cindy
Savory means other than sweet. Like a veggie salad or soup
I don't think why all this "hype" with avocado. I feet it almost without taste for us, humans. Like olive, it make me needs to dress it to eat it
@@AmandaGDumaschips and guac 🥑 ❤
@@AmandaGDumas as humans we can really "taste" only sweet stuff, fatty one don't have any taste like the so called protein shit food!
@@AmandaGDumaswhen you’re raw and eating clean you would appreciate avocado
Thanks DrDoug!❤️💚🍉
Olives have a lot of salt added to them. It's the salt we like.
Is it ok to blend a Brazil nut into your fruit smoothie?

You shouldnt eat more than 4 per month, according to greger

Lord of the can’t focus with just finger hanging off
Nothing like mono meals...
I can’t help wondering what’s going on with that finger

If it makes sense it makes sense.
What do you mean no science? Do you really mean no scientific studies on food combining?
@@regina6838 - No science supports the claims in this video. Are you aware of any science that supports food combining?
Good luck...
