    It works!! Even if nutritionists keep saying that there is no science supporting this. This is the only way of eating that works for me. I'm 50 and my stomach is flatter than 20 years ago. No more fatigue or bloating after eating. And my blood sugar roller coasters are also a thing of the past. I had terrible blood sugar spikes for many hours e.g. if I combined cheese and fruit. And no doctor knew why.
    Thank you for this helpful summary.

      Thank you for sharing your experience. It worked miracles for me, too! It’s frustrating when there’s no science to support something 😅 but you can’t argue with results ☺️

    I tried food combining, kept it up for a few weeks found it hard going but one thing you definitely notice is your stomach becomes much calmer very quickly and you suffer much less from gas and bloating.

      I definitely noticed that also 😍 the longer you do it, the easier it gets, as it becomes like second nature 🙏🏻

    Seasonal combination helps applying the above.
    When eating from same season only you d never mix fast digestive food ex. tomatos, cuccambers high water content summer food with slow digestive dry - winter food.
    High sugar food like bananas summer food with high fatty winter food.
    Thank you for so important information!!

    Thank you for sharing your knowledge. This makes so much sense! I remember reading an article years ago about food combining and it was a man by the name of Dr. Hay who, in the 1920's, spoke of this way of eating foods that combine well together so as to not interrupt or disturb the natural way of digestion. I tried it, and went from 130 pounds to 120 pounds but I felt great! I never could gain more than 135 pounds my whole life and I am five foot seven inches tall. I stopped eating this way because I "fell off the wagon" so to speak, thought I was "cured", and wanted to gain more weight and the digestive issues came back. I realized later that this is not a cure, but a darn good prevention method. I decided I can live with looking a little skinnier if it means no digestive issues! Thanks again for your inspiration. You look amazingly healthy by the way!

      Thanks for sharing your experience! I'm so glad food combining helps you to feel better :) a shame about your weight though... perhaps there is something else going on with that? A malabsorption issue? Have you had an iridology session to see what's going on there? Just a suggestion 🙂 thanks again x

    Dear Olivia, much thanks for speaking so kindly & clearly & is it okay to ask you the following questions here that I am really struggling with:1. Is it okay to eat beef and sardines and some green vegetables in one meal, or is eating these two particular different proteins bad to eat in one meal? 2. How long does it take oatmeal to digest? How long should a person wait after eating oatmeal before eating a new different meal? 3. Is it okay to eat avocado with fried vegetables such as, fried sweet potatoes, cauliflower, & zucchini? 4. With what is it ok to eat fried plantain chips? Is it okay to eat such chips with hummus or eggplant dip for example?

    • @OliviaBudgen
      @OliviaBudgen  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi :) thanks for your questions and I'm so glad you enjoyed this video! I have answered your questions to the best of my ability. I hope it helps.
      1. It is best to eat one animal protein at a time, but it is okay to eat beef and sardines together if you choose. Doing this once in a while will be fine. Green vegetables can definitely be added to that meal too.
      2. I believe oatmeal takes around 2 hours to digest.
      3. It is okay to eat avocado with fried vegetables.
      4. Plantain chips can be eaten with hummus or eggplant dip. Just be careful about the additives in the dips if they are not homemade.

And still trying to figure out what I can have with cheese. Thank you

      @OliviaBudgen  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hariraj Kaur I'm glad it's beginning to make more sense. It can be a little tricky at the start! Most people are fine having nut milks with granola 🙂 you'll have to see how you feel with the soy milk and granola as that is more of a protein than a fat. Perhaps you could try cutting out cheese altogether 😉🙊 anyway... don't stress too much over food combining, experiment, and see how you feel with different food combinations!

    Great video! Dry fruit like bananas and dried fruit combine really good with nuts and seeds, the fruit help the digestion of the nut/seed, and not mix it with Water (like smoothies), I think Water rich foods doesnt combine with nuts/seeds, it should be eaten in a dry state. And for me, I cant digest bananas so good without almonds or dried seeds together with it!

      Olivia Budgen Prof. Spira whrote in his book thats its best to not eat nuts at all in summertime and in wintertime if you eat them, to have a chance to digest them properly, he says that you should always eat them with dried fruit or honey, that have really worked for me! Why people say that you shouldnt combine dried fruits with nuts is probably because its easy to overeat on it, and overeating is not a good thing and will cause indigestion, so people that get indigestion from it probably think that its because of the combination, but mostly of the time I think its because they ate to much! Also, water rich fruits never combine with nuts, that will cause indigestion, just eat dried fruits with it :)

No meat, eggs, dairy or soy. I do slip up and eat pizza once in a while. I have wanted to go raw but a lot of raw veggies and fruits don't agree with my digestion. Thx for the reply! I wasn't clear enough. Is cooking lentils considered Raw? If not, I will learn how to sprout as I am aiming for 100% Raw! Thx a lot and wish you a great day!

      Rheeko / Vegan WoWGamer&Training raw foods are foods which haven't been cooked. So no, cooked lentils aren't raw. Definitely consider sprouting them - they are twice as healthy and nutritious when they are sprouted too 😊

    Thank you for this video. One of the things that I have often enjoy eating was a fruit salad with bananas, berries, and an avocado with lemon juice squeezed on top with a little salt on the avocado. It's really delicious but I didn't know that the avocado was no no.

    • @OliviaBudgen
      @OliviaBudgen  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sleepy Claus eating meat + non-starchy vegetables is fine 😊 I’m not sure what you mean by eating acid with it though? What are you eating for dessert afterwards?

    • @sleepyclaus3750
      @sleepyclaus3750 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@OliviaBudgen Oh yes! By acid I mean vinegar and fruits acids like tomatoes since I use them a lot in my salads. And mostly my desserts are carbs like ice cream or fruits

    • @OliviaBudgen
      @OliviaBudgen  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sleepy Claus people are generally fine eating acid foods like tomatoes and vinegar with salad and meat etc. You should definitely not eat fruit after a meal though. That will cause severe gas, bloating and fermentation. If you’re talking about ice cream made from cows milk, that’s dairy and in the category of fats. I don’t suggest eating that at all. Go for a coconut milk ice cream instead.

    The combo that has so much conflicting advice is fat and carbs or fat and protein. You recommend fat and carbs but other sources say that exasperpates insulin spike and that fats and protein do not and therefore are a better combo

      MaryJo Villar you can definitely pop almond butter into a smoothie if you'd like 😊 I'd just recommend combining it with suitable ingredients e.g. Berries, mangoes, papaya etc. (sub acid and acid fruits) as opposed to sweet fruits.
