Sorry but this is not how the function of gastric acid pH level adjustment works from a medical point of view and sounds more like what a 'nutritionist' after their weekend course would tell you. The 'environment' in your stomach is always "acidic", having a pH level between 1.5 and 3.5 regardless (...) of what you're eating (or drinking - cause a lot of people are stupid enough to believe that drinking alkaline water helps to 'regulate' their body's pH level, which is 100% bullshit) and the neutralization of aforementioned gastric acid is done in the first section of your small intestine, called duodenum through sodium bicarbonate which is released by the pancreas and this again is stimulated by a hormone, secretin, which is regulating different parts of liquid homeostasis in the whole body. It is, however, not affected by the combination of the foods on your plate. While encouraging people to eat a healthier variation of foods in general, you shouldn't back it up with 'facts' that, at best, are based on pseudo-science or beliefs.
    Greetings from med school.

I think u got it wrong about acidic and alkaline enzymes. In human Digestive system acidic enzymes like gastric acid are released in stomach and alkaline enzymes are released in small intestine. So it doesn't neutralize each other same time. In fact in India we eat rice with lentils which is starch and protein together. And it works well.

I was told eating the fruit by itself, though it has fiber, can still spike your blood sugar. Eating a protein balances it out vs eating the fruit alone. The same concept as peanut butter and crackers we give to diabetics when their sugar drops in the hospital. The peanut butter balances out the carbs. However fruit and certain meat proteins digested together, I heard was not good for your digestion. I saw that in another video. This was 5 years ago when I commented, so my diet was better then, I need to get back to it.

    • @ironiedusort
      @ironiedusort 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

@@missb1982 Well simply avoid eating the fruit when it's too ripe. The riper the food the higher the sugar content. The longer foods are cooked once again the higher the sugar content. The order you eat food in also can prevent high blood spikes which is why I eat fats protein and carbs are last.Dr Jason Fung has a video on this.

At the end of the day , calories count , not food combination. To lose weight you need to be in a caloric deficit , easy as that. Bavithaa Sufina yes, total calorie intake is important but what’s even more important is the quality of your calorie intake. Those on the exact same calorie intake but one eating complete junks and another consuming a balanced meal will not feel or look the same. What you put into your body matters a lot to your overall health, digestive system, and especially if you want to lose weight. 😉

This is so eye opening, we've been taught wrong since we were kids, at least in my country. They've always been campaigning about how a proper and balanced meal consists of (roughly translated?) "healthy 4, perfect 5" which are carbs, meat, vegetables, fruits for the healthy four and milk for the 'perfect' additional nutrition. Hence families have been making foods containing those combined in one meal, which is not exactly suitable.

Not only that there are so many TH-cam shills pushing the opposite right now, saying only eat fruit after a meal and your sugary snacks to avoid sugar spikes. Yet many all over the world eat fruit first thing as breakfast incuding the famous Dr Sebi who they killed for healing so many. So its so hard for people to know which information to trust now, and those same people are saying not to eat leafy greens especially spinach as they say it's very bad for the gut, which i think they are exagerating to create fear of it. Certainly some are sensitive to it but there are many who aren't who recieve the benefits. The best thing is to test things out and to listen to our own bodies.
And i was so looking forward to my poached eggs on sourdough topped with garlic spinach, 🤦😆 yet i kept having the thought i should eat my poached eggs on a bed of salad as I'd heard this before but its just not quite so appetising. But i guess its all just habit and it only takes 9 times of trying something to adapt to the new way so i must give it a try 😊 as i trust this person i had to search and find the video for myself it wasnt pushed into my face by TH-cam.
Id like to hear some breakfast brunch ideas. As i only eat 2 meals a day lunch and evening meal so would like some ideas. Does she recommend porridge as long as its not combined with fruit? What about millet which is very good for us? I like millet porridge in winter with avocado. But thats also a fryiti think 🤔

let me answer this like i have been taught in med school ..... protein digestion begins in the stomach by pepsin which acts in an acidic environment. Then the peptides moves to the small intestines, where it is acted upon by pancreatic enzymes (trypsin and chymotrypsin etc.) ...these enzymes require an alkaline environment and the bicarbonate required for that is also secreted by the pancreas. Ma'm pls correct urself. I highly appreciate the calorie count videos u posted. Thanks and Respect.

I had human biochemistry for 2 Semesters now and what you are talking about is not completly wrong but also not really right...
You digest in an acid enviroment in your stromach, everything else in the bowels. An acid enviroment is not good for enzymes so no digestion in the stomach (only denaturisation of proteins, witch is more desinfections than anything else). So if you feel bloaded after your meel it has nothing to do with the combination of your meals. Fruid doesn't ferment in your body, that can only happen in your bowels, because there are no bacteria in your stomach that do that, and most pards of fruits is digested bevor it reaches your lower intesting. Carbons are already broken down in your by your salvia (polymere to dimere)

But people have eaten rice and beans for centuries without a problem. Maybe it’s more about how they’re prepared. They were probably well soaked before and may have been slightly fermented, or soaked with something that neutralized harmful ingredients? Just speculating here.

Hi, yes it’s true that we all should be consuming a balanced diet. However to some people, if we were to include too much of starchy carbs in, it may interfere with your digestion. If you do experience that, then try to combine protein with leafy greens + non starchy veggies, you can always introduce some starch in small quantity and see how your body reacts. For me personally, some starch makes me feel bloated, but not all. So it’s about introducing and eliminating food. There isn’t one solid answer that fits everybody. I hope this helps 🙂

I don’t think this advice holds up with what we know about glucose spike regulation and metabolic health. It is actually the slowing of the release of sugars/starch by COMBINING with fat and protein that levels out glucose in the blood and long term insulin sensitivity.

I first found out about food combination in the book
How to live to 150 by Michael Tombac
When he was a child his mum was a doctor yet he watched his father dying in front of them.
Hence he did not become a doctor but a scientist.
Really good advice in his book.
And thank you for describing this so well.
I keep watching your video to make sure I follow it right.
I only started eating this way about 5 days ago.
I had itchy eyes for the last 3 years or so and started to feel like something is wrong with my esophagus.
    They now cleared already.
The Somac tanlets I was taking were making me sick in many ways.
I know that any pain we have is your body trying to tell you we are doing something wrong.
It looks like this will keep me healthy for many years to come.

As soon as you showed the high glycemic food/vegetables you lost all interest from me. High glycemic foods/vegetables are the source of slmost everything that is wrong with us. High glycemic foods cause insulin release or worse an insulin apike. Combining these food with fats is a recipe for obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes and all the fun that goes along with it. Insulin tells the body to convert carbs to fat and to store fat we eat. Excessive insulin attacks and damages the linings of our blood vessels causing cholesterol to repair the dammage. As this happens repetitively it creates a blockage and over time a heart attack or stroke. Why are we still discussing high glycemic food like they are healthy?

Proteins are digested in an acidic environment in the stomach and in an alkaline environment in the small intestine. Even if you do not eat carbohydrates, alkaline fluid will be secreted from the pancreas to neutralize the acidic fluid came to the small intestine from the stomach, because the enzymes in the small intestine can only work in the alkaline environment.Eating too much is the reason you feel bloated,
I don't think you will feel bloated if you fill 1/3 of your stomach with water and 1/3 with food and leave 1/3 empty. In Islam we are doing like that
